Came on a Sunday at 5. Genuinely awful, it wasn't busy and the service took forever. When asked for silverware the server said, "ohhh brother". The pizza was $23 and I could've cooked a better one in a hut. The perogies and wings were actually pretty good. Also do not get the bacon appetizer; it was a large slab of barely cooked fat. The service was very special. I felt right at home. We had both a waitress and a personal conversation with another employee who genuinely asked about our meal and was so kind. They were extremely busy, but treated us well. I liked that they had a small menu. One of my complaints back home is that most places have a book of a menu with all meh, crappy food. Burnham does it right with a small list of options that are executed well. I ordered the salmon with mushroom risotto. Staff informed me that they cook the salmon medium, and I asked for medium well for fear I would get underdone fish. It came out perfectly cooked and moist. If you are staying in this Hilton on a weekend or when there is a wedding or any special events going on in Cleveland I recommend that you use OpenTable and make a reservation. Otherwise you may have a half hour wait for a table. The first day we had to wait a half hour for a table, which was fine because we were not in a hurry. We enjoyed our breakfast and we felt like we got a decent portion for the price. We also enjoyed their bloody Mary's and mimosas. Our server was friendly. The next day I did make a reservation on OpenTable, which was good because the line was out the door into the hallway. They were slammed because there was a wedding and the wedding party had reserved, three separate tables of 10 to 12 people. So Service was extremely slow, but our food was still very good as were our drinks. they do have a breakfast buffet, we did not partake of that. We ordered off the menu. Hmmm I was at a Hilton. I thought I'd treat myself to a treat. I didn't get it. Instead of the breakfast buffet I thought I'd deviate from the foregone conclusion and see what the Hilton chef could do! I love eggs Benedict. The eggs and Hollandaise sauce were great. The meat ..... was it even pork? I couldn't tell. It didn't taste like pork. It was a thinly sliced .... beef? I don't want to make an inaccurate accusation. But it wasn't the pork flavor I was looking forward too. The English muffins. Soggy and greasy. The potatoes were deep fried. Shiny with grease and too hot to touch with your lips. Tssss! ARE YOU F()$$/ng KIDDING ME! This is a Hilton. I didn't Expect ihop potatoes at a Hilton Ok. You trained me successfully. Next time I'll do the buffet. You win No special treat for me. Regardless of anything else about this restaurant, it's a disgrace that it's cashless. That's right, it does not accept legal tender. And we only found this out upon receiving the bill. My birthday dinner was spectacular because I was with my Life Besties, that's about it! We had not dined here, so no true expectations... but honestly. Just a little disappointed. My Fav is Trout or Sea Bass, so I ordered the Sea Bass and it was actually so well prepared that I ate the extremely crispy skin, which is usually off limits for my palate. delicious! It was bathing across a prosciutto and pea risotto which was creamy and served hot, but very salty! The birthday dessert was some type of creamsicle cake topped with fresh fruit and was so dry that I poured my cocktail over the cake so I would not choke! Seriously, we told the Server we had never had a worse dessert at a nice restaurant...that was not even sweet. Sorry, but guys you need to revamp the entire recipe on this one. I thought this place was kind of confusing because it seemed like it was the breakfast bar for the hotel but then there were menus on our table for the restaurant. I later realized that they offer the buffet on their menu but I saw people take items from the buffet without getting a plate so I was a bit confused. There were several parties waiting but I saw a ton of open tables. Either way, our table was sat and we were told that the bloody mary bar was down a level (it's only a few steps) at the bar, and we could customize with whatever toppings/mix/additions we wanted, so that was very cool. They handed us a glass with vodka and we were on our way! I felt the price of the food versus the size did not match. Friday night was relaxing with good service and delicious foods. Started with the Malibu Coconut Rum Ginger lemonade. Light and refreshing. Chose lobster bisque to start. A cup was plenty as it was thick and flavorful. The guys chose the special: 9 oz sirloin grilled to perfection. Included the best garlic Brussels sprouts and out-of-this-world mac & cheese. Not kidding. The ladies had the beet salad with large pieces of red and yellow beets snd shaved Comte cheese. Yum. The scallops were delicious and plenty. The octopus was fabulous hidden under arugula with fingerling potatoes covered with a light tangy sauce. So delicious. The entrees are a little pricey, but this is a Hilton venue. No one at my party enjoyed their food and we all had different menu items. There isn't an extensive menu, and for the price of the food you might as well go to dennys .. same food, maybe even better. My husband and I went here as apart of Cleveland Burger Week. Admittedly, all the burgers were beginning to taste similar but this one had great reviews from others so we made our way downtown to try it on a Tuesday, early afternoon. Like any downtown restaurant, the biggest hurdle was finding parking. But if you are already staying at the hotel then that's not a problem. The ambience was nice, staff friendly and service quick. Our burgers, although simple, was phenomenal. Ingredients were fresh and the burger was definitely not frozen. Was staying at the Hilton and decided to try out the restaurant. There was a nice ambiance and it felt like an upscale place. Their menu offers high class selections but is somewhat limited. I had the scallops and a side of Mac and cheese. The scallops were cooked well and the flavors were good but they must not have been properly washed because at times it felt like I was chewing dirt. Not exactly what I wanted to experience. The Mac and cheese was good but was not overly special. The service was fast and our waitress was very nice. The prices were very pricy and the food just did not live up to the hype. Based on the prices and my experience with the food I will most likely not return. It's Valentines Day, and I'm away from hubby for work travel. Came to Burnham for dinner...got a GREAT meal, even better drinks and fantastic service. My 8oz filet was cooked to perfection. My Old Fashion was one of the best I've had in recent memory - they have a solid Bourbon selection. My bartender Steve was friendly, helpful and attentive. Making great suggestions while still keeping his distance and allowing me to enjoy dinner and vday with my family via the phone. They even brought the dish out "split" already... We really enjoy this restaurant and the fact that the "hotel" restaurant is actually really good! I love the Burnham. I LOVE the Burnham. But why you ask. You may be thinking "the menu is a little small" and you would be right. You may be thinking "it's kinda expensive" and when compared to say, an Applebee's you would be right again. But in the Downtown area there are more expensive options. And there are other options with a patio. But there are not many other patios with a view that matches theirs. And on this night I'm sitting on the patio listening to a live performance by "The Killers" as part of MLB All Star weekend. Because I made a reservation in advance, the staff knew I was coming in specifically for this and had me covered. While others were starting to figure out they could listen from the Burnham but didn't think to make reservations I had a prime table, a freshly cooked pizza, a glass of iced tea and an amazing server who came to check on me at just the right intervals. As the sun set and the music began I was even able to pull out my laptop, get on the WiFi and work a bit while humming along to some classic tunes and once my pizza was done a brownie and ice cream from the desert menu kept me from feeling like I was completely camping out. Even without what felt like a private dinner show by a world renown band I still love the Burnham on a comfortable summer night. The lights from the city, located on the Mall and what has always been spot-on food makes for a hard to beat combination in this city. Maybe it's because it's a hotel restaurant. Maybe because there are a lot of other options out there, but this spot is clearly under rated. If you are in town for the festivities and are looking for a solid meal the Burnham and their patio is waiting for you (but not The Killers, you just missed them.) read more

Overall impressions: swanky lounge in a swanky hotel serving up new takes on old favorites. Staff are still growing into their roles, but friendly. Good for dressy dates, business meetings, and hopefully drinks on the patio when the weather is warmer! It's a shame that this shiny new part of Cleveland doesn't get the traffic it deserves after the boom that was Summer 2016. Getting here is about a 10 min walk from the RTA station, but at night, when there's hardly anyone around, and your phone light is shining brighter than the streetlights... The empty buildings can be pretty eerie. Buuut, I guess I can't complain about having my pick of the reservation times during Downtown Restaurant Week. The Burnham can be entered directly from the side of the Hilton building, and my friend and I were pretty impressed by the upscale nautical wall deco. Everything still looked as though the plastic wrap had just been taken off. We were shown in short order to our table, a half-booth ordeal. Normally I'm all about the booth tables, but our booties sank a little too deep into the plush seat and made the table an awkward height to lean your arms on. Which, if you have just above can't-take-you-ANYWHERE etiquette like me, you tend to do quite often. Anyways. We were brought some complimentary bread and olive oil while looking through our menus, but the server nearly dropped the bread on the table instead of our plates, and the bread was quite plainly not fresh. A rough start. Our hearts and stomachs dropped a little when we saw our first appetizer (not part of the Prix Fixe menu), five tiny Garlic & Onion Beignets. This was definitely not Southern hospitality. They were pretty good, but gone too soon, including the pickle garnish. Each of us then chose different salads for the first course and were pleasantly surprised by the unique ingredients. No plain Caesar from the grab bag - mine had a crunchy mix of greens, pickles, sunchoke, and a light dressing. Main course involved a Swordfish Schnitzel for me, and a Sous Vide Fried Chicken for her. You heard right. Schnitzel and sous vide, chicken and swordfish? Did they draw these combos out of a hat? Maybe, but they work surprisingly well together - both meats were tender, the accompanying sides (radish + mashed potatoes for me) appropriately balancing. I could probably have done with less salt overall, but know that you'll be leaving full after an entree. The desserts were cute trays of Petit Fours, including cake pops and macarons. Nothing mind-boggling, but easy to pack up and eat on the go. Like others have said, service was fairly slow. It took a while for our dishes to come and for water to be refilled even though we were one of probably five tables that evening. The staff is definitely rough around the edges compared to the establishment (I mean, have you SEEN the bathrooms? Go, just go outside across the hallway, and enjoy the gilded glory.). It's not a place you should expect to grab a quick bite - although I think I spotted a kid eating chicken tenders a few tables over. But food-wise, we felt we got what we paid $30 (+ an appetizer) for. It was Christmas Day, so this place may have been running on holiday fumes. Our food was decent, including my sweet potato gnocchi. My companion, however, had a strange goat cheese panna cotta with sad wilted greens and, for some reason, chips. My mom liked her butternut squash soup. Overall, it was decent hotel food, but nothing that I'd return for. Our sever, however, didn't seem to know much about the menu, and left our plates sitting well after we had finished. My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet prior to the Browns game today. The layout is nice and there are plenty of options. Apparently this is where the football teams stay, so it was thoughtful that they provided some regional options for the visitors. The only issues was the we wanted coffee with our breakfast and it was abnormally expensive. Well, the whole deal was abnormally expensive. We got a quick breakfast with our friends who were staying in the Hilton. We all had the croissant sandwiches--I had the vegetarian one with spinach etc. It was really delicious and much more impressive than I expected, with fresh cooked egg and great flavors. I can typically take or leave hotel restaurants as well, they are hotel restaurants. Burnham is way different. On our last AM in town we were hitting breakfast before hitting 71 to go home. Anthony was our server. Two omelets with wheat toast, fruit for me potatoes for my BFF. Coffee. Juice. Ice Tea. What SOLD US and has us on Yelp and then Trip Advisor was my ask for ice water after I downed my coffee. Anthony turned around grabbed a glass, held it up and checked to make sure it was clean. We went crazy - that NEVER happens but at the Burnham. When we praised him he said, "I'm not gonna give out no dirty glass." LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When he stopped by to pick up our plates he so proudly said, "I love picking up dirty clean plates!" BAWHAHAHAHAHA! Just absolutely too cute. Lots of professionalism. Lots of personality. Quite the impression. The food was perfect. The omelets were not in excess. Enough eggs and stuffing of our choice to balance it all out. What an experience. After reading the review of the Burnham in the Friday magazine of the PD, I figured this was a "can't miss" place in my hometown. Well. I think we can move this one to the, "don't bother" category. First off, the menu is fairly limited. This is not a bad thing in general, but most of dishes were $30+. Secondly, service. We went on a Saturday night. The place was not crowded. But why did it take so long to get service? And then, why did it take so long to receive followup service? Drink glasses sat empty on our table. Two things to caveat. I've worked in the busy/crazy busy/dead hotel restaurant business. I'm sure they are trying very hard to hold to standard level of excellence and based on the reviews, they are hitting it more often than not. Also, it's burger week. We have a winner! This isn't the easiest place to roll up to if you are coming in from the suburbs, unless you are planning an evening or day in the city. We had to split the validated $10 valet charge due to lunch time constraints. That said, it's worth it. There is probably a secret spot nearby we just don't know about yet. Our meals, 2 Neoclassical Redo, a Siegel & Shuster, and an Impossible burger for the vegetarian wife, were met with much praise. Quick service, beautiful presentation, and amazing fries. I couldn't have been more pleased with day 2 of burger week choices. Everyone was impressed, beyond how nice the dining location itself is in appearance.
