I called these guys because of the 5 star rating. My boyfriend lost our 2017 Nissan key, so I needed a key right away since I drive it for my children. {He's lost at least 4 keys on 3 different cars, Ive dealt with many locksmiths} I called and Matt answered and said he'll do it and make a key, waited for Nissan for a key code..?? he cut the key and went to the location, he tried programing it, which the door opened and everything else came on except the car. I thought it was the "I pay alarm" that was installed by the finance company and he assumed it was the alarm as well, because of that it couldn't start the car. Being a Sunday the place was closed and I offered twice to pay him half and return the next day to finish the job,(at least leave with something) since I can get more info on the alarm. WRONG the next day I called the alarm installer/company and the technician said it had nothing to do with the alarm system, but the key itself didn't work) He still refused and wanted to finish the job. As I waited patiently and was nothing but nice the whole night, Maybe 40 minutes more of continuing to try, he got help from the other guys. And they told him to "walk away, drop everything!!" Which I really wanted to believe in him and START MY CAR! That key being lost was nothing compared to the bad day I had, on top of that he was really frustrated and splurging out random frustrated thoughts. Then he told me he doesn't usually answer his phone on Sundays which was making me feel bad even worse. I wish they done their research better on my car I mean thinking their the locksmiths they would know what to do. If you have a newer car make sure they know the research. I had to call someone else much cheaper to get the job done. They knew my car needed an original key and any other one made wouldn't start it. Matt still wanted to get paid the same amount he was charging which was $175, for a key that opens my door and start my lights! I was not happy and actually was disappointed. Since they had a five star rating its not all what it seems it was my mistake for calling them and losing money. I hope these guys don't do it to other people but I felt like I got ripped, I could of used that money for gas, or and extra key that actually worked!! read more

Wow. I was amazed at how fast these guys were! After having waited 3 hours for All State roadside assistance for locking our keys in the car. My girlfriend and I were incredibly irate. We then decided to try these guys via google. They answered our call fast. No BS no run around. They got here in less than 15 mins. We were all smiles after that. I would definitely recommend and would always have these guys in mind should I have another emergency. It's a family owned business which we need more of and Matt and his brother are really stand up guys. GoKey = Lifesavers. 5/5!!! read more

Quick to respond, straightforward, professional, and courteous. Matt came and delivered what he promised. Hopefully, I won't find myself locked out again but I will be keep GoKey in mind for referrals. read more

Amazingly fast! So incredibly nice! Also very professional. From the time I called their phone number on here for a price and time quote on my emergency lock-out of my apartment to the time they left my apartment after fixing it was 33min. They got me in so quickly and even replaced my door knob lock with the same key I already had. Hopefully I won't be locking myself out again anytime soon, but if I do, I'm calling them again. read more

Awesome service, trustworthy & great prices! Matthew programed a damaged Honda Accord key fob in less than 20 min. He was really flexible with scheduling and answered the phone every single time. Wow. I am at a loss for words. After work, I lost my only car key and called Honda who was going to have me tow my car in THREE DAYS to get a spare from them. UHHH no. So I desperately look on yelp and call this number. Honestly I didn't even look at the reviews I just needed car keys. So I call and they tell me right away they can do it. The whole process took about and hour and the price was completely reasonable. Honestly I'm crying as I write this because it has been a long day and I didn't think it would be possible to have my car keys this quickly. Customer service like that is what makes a company have a 5 star rating. Thank you!!!! read more

Locked myself out of my house. I called about four people and these guys texted right back and were out in 20 min. Alex was our locksmith, very polite and super efficient. He had us back in within minutes of arriving on site. Thanks so much to Alex and the GoKey dispatch for taking care of the situation. I appreciated the communication and prompt service. read more

I had gotten myself locked out of my RV and these were the first people i called that could come pick the lock for me quickly as my phone was dying and i had no other options. They responded quickly and arrived and got me inside in a matter of minutes there for they deserve the good ratings. The only concern I had was how much it cost for them to pick the lock, which he did in under five minutes. I've never had to get a locksmith so I don't know the prices and being I was in a rush I didn't ask for a quote so when the total was $150 I was totally shocked but had no choice but to pay up. Price was steep but again i didn't ask ahead of time. read more

I just recently moved and was unfamiliar with my new house. With the first 48 hours of moving in, I locked myself out of the house with no phone. Thankfully I was able to borrow my neighbors phone and googled a locksmith. I called the first number that came up and they said they couldn't come for six hours! I then called GoKey and they came in 20 mins! I was so grateful! They were super friendly over the phone and when Matt came he was so professional and helpful. I was back in my house within the hour. I highly recommend Gokey! read more

Ok, this guy... He's amazing. I'm embarrassed to say this is NOT the first time I've locked myself out of my apartment. My complex is extremely secure however that's not a good thing if you forget your keys. I called Matt and he answered after the first ring and was here not 10 minutes later. He had trouble with my lock and said if he couldn't get it open he'd swap it out for free. He was SO nice and so professional but not too professional (I like someone who isn't completely by the book and will have a conversation with you). In his words he's a one man show. I didn't realize I was supporting a small business which I LOVE! Shop local! I saved him in my contacts just in case. (My fiancé isn't too thrilled that it's come down to that...lol) I also re-read his bio and not only am I supporting a small business I'm supporting a veteran which with so much military background in my family and friends I couldn't be happier to do! I would highly recommend to anyone! read more

I messaged six south bay locksmiths for a re-key on my duplex, and Go Key was the only one who would give me a price quote per cylinder, and also had the lowest charge for a service call. I loved the transparency and honesty up front. Not saying other locksmiths in the area weren't honest, but it's nice to get a price up front for a straightforward job. Tee, our technician, showed up right on time, was pleasant, did exactly what I wanted, and even hooked me up with some spare hardware he had sitting around, and didn't charge me extra for it. He made me extra keys right in his vehicle and they all work flawlessly. The final price was exactly what I expected and very reasonable. I will call this company again when I need a locksmith. Thanks Go Key! read more

Upon reading the all the stellar Yelp reviews, I thought, wow, these guys can babysit my kids (if I had children). I just got a good vibe from them, and my instincts and these Yelps reviews are spot on. Also, do you know how difficult it is to get this many 5 star reviews. It's like catching Buddha and Jesus in a fist fight! It's just so rare-with all you very picky folks. GoKey was a no-brainer choice. After 9 weeks after my move to the day, I'm finally getting this review done. I don't write too many reviews. This is my third one, and I use a word processor-- I like doing things correctly or as best as I can. I kept seeing the (less deserving) competitor in my neighborhood, so it's time. Apparently people lock themselves out a lot in Long Beach! Try to imagine all the things that can go wrong when getting into a new house...everyone made mistakes Escrow, agents, the title company, truck rental company, even myself (misplaced wallet in one of the moving boxes). With all the things to juggle I kept patient and was rewarded with finding Matt, the most (interject superlatives here) locksmith ever. I received a very reasonable quote over the phone per cylinder. I was so busy I didn't have time to call back to confirm a time. But Matt texted to confirm a time to rekey the locks. We talked while he worked. Matt was skilled and knowledgeable, honest, super funny, intelligent, had a positive energy, and kind-- one of the nicest person I have ever met. To see someone work and walk through life with that kind of ease and grace-- well that's just beautiful and inspiring. At this point you may think did you hit the tab button by accident and switch to a Match.com profile? But no. This is a Yelp review about about a very real business- a very real person. The star ratings needs to be adapted to give more stars or more sparkly stars or something! For GoKey, I give all the stars in the night sky. Thank you so much! Michael read more

Clay was very responsive and helpful in getting us set up in our new house. He worked quickly and made everything look very nice. He even came back, at no charge, when one of the locks wasn't working quite right and took a ton of time to carefully fix it. I highly recommend hiring GoKey! read more

Great timing for a stupid mistake. Triple A couldn't help. He quoted me less than everyone else and responded to me in less than half the the time all others said they'd be to my place. Big thumbs up!!! Class act for sure. Also, the only locksmith that answered the phone like a professional, the rest acted like they didn't care and I was troubling them, like my money wasn't important to their profession and I should bow to them for simply giving them a call. Kudos and THANK YOU, SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!! I will be telling everyone with "ANY" lock problem to give him a call FIRST & if they don't it's obvious that time, money, & professionalism doesn't concern them read more

I seriously cannot say enough good things about Matt, and his company. I got locked out of my apartment one day, and called frantically, and they reassured me they'd be there in 15 minutes. They were, and they fixed everything in under 20, and were amazingly kind, and affordable. Then, my mother passed away, and I inherited her safe, but had no idea how to get into it. These guys guided me through the process, and opened it in front of me. It was in their care for about a week, and I didn't worry for a second. Seriously, the most helpful, trustworthy, and warm-hearted people I've ever had the please of working with. Also, he's got CRAZY cute dogs, so that made it all that much better of an experience. Thanks so much, Matt, and company! You're the best! read more

Excellent service and such a fast response time! Joe was able to come out within hours of my call and did such a great and thorough job rekeying my home and adding a security lock to my garage door. He was very personable and all around just a great guy. Matt has also done work at my home and I just couldn't be more impressed with these two. Will definitely use GoKey for all my future locksmith needs. read more

Matt is a great guy. I had just moved to Long Beach from Santa Monica and he welcomed me to the neighborhood, helping me make a couple of keys that they were unable to copy at Home Depot. He is professional and prompt- took my call immediately. Highly recommend. I feel safe now that I've met Matt. I now know he can help me out if I am ever in need here in LB. read more

GoKey was amazing! I called left a message about a key breaking off in my garage door. Was texted right back by Joe and said he could stop by in the hour. Joe came and replaced the lock and provided two keys all at a super reasonable price. Not only that, but he stuck around and helped me get my garage door reengaged and operating again! He said, "we don't need a garage door guy, we got this". If you need anything from a locksmith this is your go to, Joe is part of team good people!! read more

Earlier this week I had a issue with my lock box and found these guys! Matt and the guys at GoKey are incredible! I couldn't be more pleased with the service provided. Super reliable, professional, great quality work, and most importantly they are honest and fair. I've used them a couple times now and each time Matt did a great job of giving me options for my lock problem, advised me about the pros & cons, and walked me through the process during repair/installation. He will go the extra mile for you and does his best to accommodate his client's requests. If you're in need of a locksmith, I highly recommend GoKey! read more

Our Company had 2 filing cabinets that were fireproof safes that more than one locksmith could not get into. I talked with a Matt Johnson over the phone and he was able to quote me a price and come into the office after hours to open them up. Very good service, very friendly, on time and on budget. Our company thanks him and we would highly recommend. read more

Everyone's worst nightmare is losing the only key you have for a newer car. And to make matters worse it was parked on a side street with 2 hour parking. Matt took my call and went above and beyond to help me get the code from Chevrolet so I didn't have to have the car towed to the dealer. Although Chevrolet wasn't exactly cooperative, Matt worked through the night communicating with me at all hours to get this job done. He not only got the new key done for me the next morning early, he also moved my car off the street and put it in my parking garage. If you need a locksmith you can definitely count on this company! read more

I just used Gokey locksmiths for the first time and was really impressed with the service. I very conveniently booked an appointment with them through yelp and was contacted right away. I initially thought I would have to wait a few days for the repair, but they were able to accommodate me the same day, only hours after I booked the appointment. Matt Johnson showed up right on time, repaired a broken gate lock, and made four new keys within half an hour. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I highly recommend this locksmith and will definitely be calling them back in the future. read more

Our first time to call locksmith in this area. Matt answered my call right away and advised will get help through Jordan. He came in on time, just went to another building nearby.
