We had an extra front door key made at Home Depot. When we brought it home, it fit into the lock and would turn, but could not be removed. We reached this conclusion about 2:30 in the afternoon, not leaving a lot of time to address the problem. If not resolved the same day, it would result in the front door key jutting out from the lock overnight and presenting a serious security issue. My husband checked Yelp listings for locksmiths and came across Long Beach Locksmiths, was very impressed, and called to see if they could do a same-day appointment. My husband reached Nick from Long Beach Locksmiths about 2:45, and after explaining the problem was told by Nick that Nick would be here within a half an hour. Nick arrived at 3:15, as promised, did some analysis of the situation and determined that it was not the new key that was the problem, but rather the lock that needed s to be repaired, which he did very quickly and efficiently. We also showed him a lock on a. French door that led to our side patio, and he determined that it was put in upside down and needed to be replaced. He had a lock with him that fit, and he installed it in short order. Nick was very professional as well as being very engaging and everything was done in short order to our total satisfaction. My husband was relieved that he didn't have to sleep out on the porch overnight on a cot. Oh my gosh Nick is the best. I called him because the door lock on my condo would not work. The lock is approximately 42 years old and the condo is for sale. Not a good impression on a potential buyer. Nick came was punctual and polite. Hahaha he's a cool guy someone you could hang out with. Anyway he went to work and determined the lock was good but the latch was hanging up in the door jam metal. He did so grinding on it until it was functioning!
