There isn't a time I've had a bad experience. It's walking distance to me but even if it wasn't, I would go out of my way to come here. I love my neighborhood ACE hardware store, as it's down the street and the employees are usually always so nice and friendly BUT today the cashier showed a lack of customer service. The young lady (I didn't get her name) per the receipt is employee #48 was assisting us and was getting ready to assist me with my name change until a couple came behind us (mind you it was only about 4-6 folks in the store) and she just had to help them at the same time so she completely forgot about what she was going to do, rang them up and handed me my receipt. It was only when I looked at her with a blank stare waiting for her to assist with the name change in the computer that she said oh, here (handed me a piece of paper and pen to write down my name. Customer service is to help the person you were helping all the way through AND then help the next person. I felt completely disregarded. read more

I am so lucky to live next to this place! They have just about everything else you would possibly need for home improvement, tools, pest control, painting etc. The staff is so insanely friendly too. Always quick to help out to make sure you're not lost. It's clean and organized, never waited too long in line. I came in to ask for printer paper, which I admit was a ballpark ask for a hardware store. They didn't have any, but the woman working the cashier was kind enough to let me have a sheet from their personal printer. Which speaks on how above and beyond they go to make their customers happy. Super great staff! Unlike the big box hardware stores, you don't have to summon a search party to find a helpful employee. If you're in the store for 2 minutes, and haven't been asked if you need assistance, you're not at Ace. They really know how to MacGyver things! When I come in asking for a "Do Hickey" they are able to figure out what I mean, and how to best do the fix. It always amazes me how many things they have in the store. Only twice over the years have they told me I have to go to Home Depot. Great things come in small packages. Check it out! read more

Yup. Should have came here to begin with. After several trips to Lowe's and Home Creepo, we were happy to find extremely knowledgeable staff and everything we needed to find the fittings for our new gas dryer. Two locations near us, one on Anaheim near Temple and the other on 4th and Olive... the 4th location was pretty big with helpful staff as well. We definitely found what we were looking for and were able to successfully hook up our dryer with minimal effort. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Friendly neighborhood hardware store great for the basics. This is my go-to hardware store and it's been great for most of my needs. I love it that I can just be in and out of there, unlike at the big box stores. That said, obviously their smaller size means the selection is limited and the prices can be a little higher, but I find their convenience and friendly service more than make up for any price disparity. Store is small but they carry most items needed, well stocked, clean, and the staff if just amazing 100%. If I had a business I would want that staff working for me. These guys are great, I ordered my brother, a pizza oven for a surprise gift and the owner of the hardware store hand-delivered it to his house, which is at least 8 to 12 miles away from his store. I live on the East Coast and I can't tell you how appreciative I was that he did that for me. It's a privately owned hardware store and it makes all the difference in the world. I ordered something from one of the big box stores, like Home Depot or Lowe's. They took 3 1/2 months to get accomplished. I wish we had a store like Long Beach, where I live. I went to this Ace Hardware more times than I can count. It is on a side street near downtown Long Beach. The parking lot is very small and it can fill up on a weekend. It is a great hardware store and also has a cool housewares section. It has most anything that you need from a hardware store and enough cool things to keep me interested every time I go.
