I had purchased a set of bathroom faucet replacement knobs at the Lakewood store as I was in that area at that particular time; however, they did not fit so I found the nearest location near me (this one) and tried returning them; however, the cashier stated that they did not carry those as each store is independently owned but if she did have them in stock she would be able to exchange or refund them (makes perfect sense to me). I took the old knob in that was needing replacement and they had the same exact one in stock (woo hoo) so I was pleased about that. The only con about this location is the parking. I found a convenience store next door which I parked at and was a bit hesitant to; however, I was running in there as well to get some lottery scratchers so I was patronizing it as well. read more

I don't know how many years I had to deal with a broken and ripped screen door for our sliding door to the balcony. And all this time about a three minute walk from my place is this Ace Hardware location which does rescreening. You guys are a lifesaver! I can finally enjoy my balcony without having to share it with incoming and outgoing insects lol. Customer service was 81 and the job was done in a timely manner as promised. read more

Usually this store is good. Today however, I walked in to grab a few things with my 6 year old daughter and all I could hear the whole time was one of the workers saying f*ck this and c*nt that. Even after finally realizing there was a child right there down the aisle she proceeded to say "she doesn't know these words" and kept going. Have a slight bit of awareness when there are children present. You need to do better. read more

Helpful, kind, patient, fast paced I was on a two day quest to replace a lock for a front door. Both days the store was super full, super busy, the employees remained friendly and kind while absolutely swamped with customers. I'm not kidding when I say the store was absolutely packed. Even so, the employees managed to ask me if I needed help, get me to what I needed, checked me out, made key copies, the full package. When I came back again to make an exchange because I f*cked up they were just as busy, just as cordial, and managed my item exchange quickly with a key copy ontop. Very grateful to this store's employees and fee like if I have to stop by again they'll sort me out quickly and kindly. read more

HIGH praise to this mighty small hardware store. If professionalism is measured in knowledge, this is a mega-store. Phil in a word, is great. Friendly, knowledgeable and made some strong recommendations. This is why I loathe going to Home Depot where you talk to a kid who got work on a skateboard trying answer questions about dry wall and he asks, "You want to buy a dried wall?" Save yourself a headache. Often the little gems you can't find at the bigger stores, you'll find here. A lot of these stores are independently owned so you are helping local business people. The super nice mgr, Kevin, is so helpful with whatever you need. I went in here after whoever is in charge at the Ace on 4th St in Long Beach was so rude, and had the exact opposite experience. Immediately Kevin was available and patiently listened to my frustration about repairing an older model Mansfield toilet tank. He offered info and instruction about parts to replace first the fill valve and when the problem persisted, the flush valve. I had to put this off because the expense of hiring a plumber would've been such a hardship to me, but doing so incurs water waste and hence, cost. I hadn't done this job before but felt confident to try it after speaking with Kevin and it worked, so I was very grateful for his help and pleased I persisted and solved the problem.
