This last visit I needed some help finding a product that would help me with a project I was working on in my RV trailer. The gentleman in the store led me right to the exact and perfect product I needed. I had a possessed bolt that broke off and wouldn't come out of a handlebar stem. I think the gentleman's name is J R who helped me, the one who is working the back counter by the wood. He went above and beyond to get this thing out, with drill bits and wd40 he went to town even breaking one of the drill bits.. sorry! No way I was getting that out in my garage myself so hats off to you sir. Lastly he helped me in locating the longer replacement bolts I needed. My daughter's Razor SX500 is now rideable once again! read more

I went to Bay Hardware in Seal Beach yesterday to buy a replacement Kwikset lock set. At check out I asked for help re keying the lock since Kwikset includes a special tool supplied in the box to do so. The clerk refused and then later consented after trying to charge extra for this service. I went to a local business to support the community and for personalized service. I received none. I left and bought the same lock on Amazon for $10.00 cheaper! If I were the business owner I'd be upset to lose an easy sale especially since there were no other customers in the place and the clerk was just standing there talking. read more

I love stores like this. They have such interesting things--a lot of which you can't find at the big box stores. Look at it as a mini mini Home Depot. I just walked around the store for 20 minutes to see what they have and get ideas. Everyone in the store asked me if I needed help. I did not want to leave empty handed, so as a memory of my visit to Seal Beach I bought a small funnel made in China. But I did not realize at the time, that when I got it home, the large decal on it would not come off and I had to spend 2 hours with all kinds of chemicals and rubbing to get the adhesive off. What genius at the factory put a sticker on a item that needs to be used with liquids that does not come off easily! It still has the residue on it so I am not sure I can use it--but that's okay--it only costs $1.25. I would have paid more $$ for one with no decal. read more

Great store with everything you need. Most of the workers are knowledgeable and helpful, but my last three visits the cashier has been quite cold and disagreeable. This is such a great hardware store. The staff is super friendly, they know where everything is, and are always more than happy to help with anything that you need. I much rather come here to get things for my home instead of Home Depot, where you have to find everything yourself. It is smaller than Home Depot and Lowes and does not have the same selection, so don't come here if you are looking to buy lumber and something really big like that. They have plenty of smaller things to help you out around the house. You can't beat the customer service at Bay Hardware! My boyfriend absolutely loves this store. Walked by this store and they had a sign out front that said they replace keys with a car alarm so I went inside because mine was dead. They were quick to ask if I needed anything and were more than happy to help me out. They opened up my key and swapped out the battery really quick. Super cheap as well. The owner's & employees at Bay ALWAYS put your needs ahead of their own with helpful advice and relevant suggestions. Recently I had a problem with the hardware on my sliding glass door that prevented me from securing our home. Manny helped me order the correct part and even came to our house on his lunch break to make sure I installed it correctly. Don't waste a trip to one of the big box stores. How many places today can you have a house account when you are small business owner or contractor? Not many, but Bay Hardware does! I find their selection excellent and their pricing fair. The best part of all - their amazing customer service. From Diana, Dustin, Scott, Fran, Mike, Peter and of course Manny, they know their hardware and are always ready with a smile. They are even open on Sundays when you really need to get to that "honey do" list. Doesn't that count for something? I think it counts for a lot! Plus where else would we buy all those odds and ends for our toilets, pipes and electrical items? Gardening supplies - they have them. Rags for various and sundries? Naval jelly for a rusty bike? Paint for your shop or home? A nice paintbrush? Nuts and bolts in every thread pitch and type? You just ask and magically Bay Hardware has it. Went in here for the first time last week and I was impressed! The place looks small but wow, it goes pretty far back and it is well organized with a variety of items. I picked up so many items because I had been putting off going to multiple stores for a long time. It was nice founding so many in one place. I was surprised that they carried such a variety of things (fertilizer, gardening gloves, grills, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, electrical, etc.). Prices are comparable to other places and parking isn't a problem. Their staff was very friendly and asked multiple times if I needed help. Came here once the other day when West Marine didn't have a specific bolt I needed. When I walked in I was greeted and asked what I needed help with. She directed me to the guys in the back an they walked with me and found the bolt I needed for me. Fair prices. Pretty packed store, but they don't have much floor space to spread stuff out much. Great store! The cute blonde is real feisty and curt, but no worries. She taught me a lesson in nut and bolt terminology. I didn't know the term Acorn Nut and her body language showed she was outraged. It's ok though, she is so knowledgable, helpful and dedicated to her task, that she had my full respect. I have been doing a lot of home projects this summer. I just finished building my second bedroom closet for my kids using the "easy track" they have in the store. I am far from handy, but the crew (especially Katie) assured me I could do it. The price for a similar product at Home Depot was more. So I saved money there, on top of not doing the "California Closet" or "Closet World" route. Mostly, I just appreciate the customer service. They helped me load my car each time. This place is the best! They seem to have everything, plus extra parking in the back if you can't find a space up front which I don't have a problem with. I came here for one individual screw to put a jewelry holder together, and the guy up front immediately offered to help me with the task of finding the perfect screw. I love how they have individual screws etc without the plastic wrapping and for an easy 0.11-0.17 cents each or so. Was I happy when Small Business Saturday challenged me to find a small business that accepted my American Express card. I was also happy to have them not only have a way to affix my bird to the top of my flag pole; but they actually fixed it for me.
