I wish it was possible to leave zero stars. First of all, they subcontracted the work to a place called Jonny Key Locksmith, and they are nowhere near Long Beach as advertised. Second, they doubled the price from the estimate to the work. Third, David, the person sent out was beyond rude and slobby, and ultimately unprofessional. Forth, it took him over a week to complete the job, with David showing up only sometimes and for inconsistent amounts of time. Lastly, upon checking the locks he changed, I've realized that many of the locks do not even work. I have never hired a worse vendor in my life. read more

So they're scammers. I broke my key in the door at 11pm & needed to get in the house ASAP to get my asthmatic toddler on his nebulizer. These vultures quoted me on price on the phone and then charged us $275. So pay that or let my baby suffer were the options. The worst part is they just drilled a hole in our deadbolt and left. Absolute rip off. This company knows you need a lock smith because you are in a bad situation and prices assuming no ongoing relationship. Whatever "range" they give you is nonsense, no matter how simple the job is, it will always be the maximum. We simply needed a lock drilled (no re-key). We were told $30 + 70-150. When the locksmith got there were told 150, which I sent immediately via cash app. After 7 minutes the locksmith had drilled the lock and said he now wanted $180. This company does not want your ongoing business, they want to price gauge you one-time. If you have the option, avoid this company at all costs. I cannot fathom how their current rating is legitimate. read more

Super fast service but when the tech called me I kept asking for a range on how much it would be to add a new lock to my mailbox. He kept saying I can't say until I look at the lock and I said well you don't have a range at all he said no. Gets here, uses a $9 lock from Amazon puts it on, which I could have done. Before he installed it I kept asking how much...he kept saying I don't know. Until he finished installing it by bending the metal of my mailbox and gives me a total of $240!!!! Are you kidding me? ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF, was quoted $90-170 to open a locked bathroom. Once the answering service routes my call to the locksmith, he calls me and gives me the $90-170 spread, after going back n forth and haggling on a definitive price since it's a simple bathroom door lock with no complication and no dead bolt he agrees to come over for $100. I rush out to Home Depot buy a new door lock and meet him back at my house. This guy shows up in his long underwear and a polo shirt and flip flops which I thought was odd but whatever. As soon as he enters I make sure I show him the new door lock and show him the door that needs to be opened so that the door lock can be changed . He says he's got it no problem. He then proceeds to open the door and as soon as the door is open he says it's $100 and now wants another $100 to change the lock. At this point I get seriously pissed off and let him know he's not going to get another $100 from me , we haggle and argue again and settle at $125 total, he proceeds to change the lock for me and whilst doing so completely damages the paint on the inside and the outside of the door, see pics, I'm 100% certain, he damaged the paint on purpose since he didn't get his way on the pricing. First it was $150 per rekey but since I had four he reduced the price. I'm going back to my usual guy Peter Family Locksmith who is charging $65 site visit and $20 per rekey. read more

They wanted to charge $200 for a $10 lock and when I said no, they wanted to charge me $45 for coming out. Not so long ago, I ran out of work to my car for documents in the glove compartment. Opening the car, I sat in the front passenger seat of the car, began to deal with the documents that were in the glove compartment. Having selected the right ones, I went out and slammed the door. In horror, I realized that the locks of the car had slammed shut while I was in the car, and I had left the keys in the passenger seat. I didn't have a second set of keys. I turned to a friend for help who suggested ARCH LOCKSMITH & SAFE Services. After calling them, I went to work, and the guys from ARCH LOCKSMITH & SAFE Services arrived pricer an hour later and easily opened my car in front of me and gave me the keys to it. The car was not damaged in any way. My joy knew no bounds! I was able to get home in my car! I recommend this company to everyone! Horrible! I called Arch Locksmith to request a quote for my broken security door lock. I spoke with their customer representative. He told me a technician would give me a call. Jesse gave me a call and told he would have to come look at it. We set a date and time. He shows up and began to look at the lock. So that I'm not hovering over his shoulder while he is working, I went inside the house and told him to knock on the door if he needs me. After a while it was quite and I went out and he wasn't there and neither was his car. But my door lock was taken apart and left there. Jesse never showed back up and my lock was disassembled. Today Dylan installed the security door locks and he did a clean job. When he did it the first time it wasn't closing smooth so he tried a couple different ways until it was perfect which is very important to me being this is a new car. These guys are amazing! Friendly, professional, and honest. (And with a contractor's license!) I should have called them from the beginning! They will be my go-to locksmiths from now on. I didn't think it was even possible to give a 1 star review to a locksmith... but I had to leave one for Golden Locksmith today because they are so unprofessional *and* expensive! My mother passed away two months ago and our family has been going through her home and boxing up her possessions. Her home has 4 exterior storage closets (with wrought iron security doors) and the keys were nowhere to be found. Naturally, we needed a locksmith. I have no idea what made me call Golden... they had a few good Yelp reviews, so I wasn't too worried. Wrong. The guy that came to the house tried to pick the first lock and the second lock with no success (for at least 20 minutes). Then, he told me he would have to drill the locks (thus, ruining them) for $120 apiece! I thought the price was too high, but didn't really think we had another option. That would have been $480 PLUS the $45 service fee (really?!? you couldn't just throw that in, guys?!?) Luckily, it took him about 40 minutes to drill the lock. Yeah, you read that right. FORTY MINUTES! WTH?!?@# Anyway, that was plenty of time for me to call another locksmith and see if I was being overcharged. I called Archer's Locksmith in Glendale and they were so professional right from the start. I asked how much they would charge to drill a lock if they couldn't pick it, and Danny said it would be $85 for the first door... and $35 for the remaining doors, but he was also pretty confident they could just pick the lock. That was the exact moment I knew Golden Locksmith was screwing me over. I paid Golden dude for one door (which was more than it would have cost me to have Archer's complete all the doors!) Even though they were extremely busy, the guys from Archer's made a special effort to come the same afternoon - including the owner, Matt, who looked around the house and saw that the balcony security gates were similar to the storage doors and guessed that they all used the same key. Sure enough HE WAS RIGHT! Professional and HONEST... and super friendly. Matt & Danny looked at the lock the other guy had destroyed and immediately knew that he must not have had a license and clearly didn't know what he was doing. I learned a HUGE lesson today and hopefully, this review will save many unsuspecting Golden customers in the future. I should have hired Archer's from the start! read more
