The other day I gave my house key to somebody I shouldn't have and so I needed to get my house locks re-keyed. Found Archer's lock and security on Yelp. They had good reviews and were in my area so I decided to give them a try. Called at 9:30, Pablo helped me on the phone and said someone would be here at 12:30. Got a call from the tech, Dylan, who asked if he could come a bit early. Rarely have I had people ask if they can come early to do a job, so I was very happy because I also had somewhere to go. Dylan finished re-keying three doors and gave me three keys in under 45 minutes. Checked them all and they work great, he even cleaned and lubricated the locks so the keys are much easier to put into the lock. Overall very satisfied, I was expecting to wait a day to get this done, but Archer's came and finished everything within 3 hours of me calling. Will recommend to my friends. read more

I had a great experience at their previous location in getting some keys made and was hoping to use them again. Unfortunately, they are now located in an office park and were closed on a Monday afternoon. The business seems to focused now on call-in services rather than walk-in customers. I guess with Home Depot and key duplication machines like KeyMe, the need for these kinds of places is dwindling. It's a bit sad really. :( read more

Best prices and amazing customer service!! I was a bit hesitant to go there initially because they have so few reviews, but they sounded very nice on the phone and I decided to check them out. I was surprised to find that they are quite a decent sized business. Also they did my work real quick and charge me just $4 whereas the sleazebag crook at Los Feliz Lock & Key Service was trying to extort $20 out of me. Most importantly the guys there are very respectful of the customer. Highly recommend it!!! Great service, Great service, quick assistance, and variety of keys. Initially went into Home Depot to get the bed of truck key copied, but they told me they didn't have the key to do it. womp. womp. What else? Yelp to the rescue! Danny assisted me and was of great help. Turns out he did have the key and to verify even walked across the street where I was parked and tested it out himself. Even told me to be careful of parking in front of the school street parking because of the security always giving people tickets there! The copy of my key w/ tax included $4.36. Stopped by to have two copies made of my 2001 Prius Master Key. I ordered micochiped replacement keys online and brought them here to be cut. Service was excellant. They copied them and the cost was only $4 for the cut and labor. If you don't want to order online, they have replacement valet keys available there (although I'm not sure the cost). The dealership can charge you upwards of $200 for a replacement key, so do yourself a favor and stop by here first! I will come back for all my locksmithing needs! read more

He's been in business for over 30 years and was very warm and kind on the phone. We had just picked up the keys to our very first home earlier in the afternoon and wanted to change the locks. Steve was sent out to meet us at the house the very next day and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Informative, careful, genuinely warm and caring about our new purchase (even though its quite obviously a fixer). He asked us the right questions and gave us good guidance and honest feedback about whether or not to activate the manual key on the spanky new combo locks we chose. He worked far longer than we expected him to, but completed the job for just a little over his original estimate, and that was to take into account the additional work he did on our jambs to make the locks fit better and work smoothly. I needed a back up keep for my Suzuki motorcycle and had trouble finding the right key blank and someone to cut the key. I went to Archer's because they have worked for my business for decades. The friendly locksmith found the right blank, cut the key, and called me to make sure it was working. And yes, I did tell him the scope of work. His price was 65.00 to arrive and he was 20.00 for each cylinder to re-key and I didn't ask how many keys he gives or how much they are. The locksmith I ended up using was 30.00 to arrive and 15.00 per cylinder. He was quick and friendly and gave me 4 keys per unit...there were 2 units re-keyed. read more

Having spent over $200 within last six months to fix the sticky keys and replaced with one using Archer's Service. Last Sunday, I was not able to pull off the key, so I called Archer's Lock and left two messages. Nobody had the courtesy to return my call! So i called again on Monday afternoon approx 1PM.(7/21) and a gentleman ( Dylan" took my call, i explained my situation to him and he told me that they were busy and can only sent someone out on Thursday.(four days from my service call) So i made a appointment on Thursday, since I was able to pull off the key later and used a side door entrance. Later on Monday, i called Garo's Locksmith, they were very quick to respond to my service call and sent someone here and get fixed. The rate by Garo's Locksmith is much more reasonable. I called Archer lock again to cancel the Thursday appointment, a lady picked up a call. She does not bother to look at their record, and I guess they do not have one for this. It is shame and disgrace for them to treat their repeat customer so unprofessionally and I will NEVER EVER use their service again. read more

Had key made at Home Depot. Simple house key. Guess what? Didnt work. Went to Archer and had them copy key. Works perfect. Gentleman explained why they are always cutting keys for big chain store mistakes. No one takes the time to recalibrate key cutting machines. I will never use big chain store again. My wife and I own a 1925 California Craftsman home in Glendale, and all the interior doors have the originals mortise lock hardware. I recently did some renovation and had to purchase a new door for a closet, but I wanted to use our salvaged mortise lock and knobs. Finding a craftsman to carve out the door and install the lock turned out to be a bit of a challenge. After consulting with a number of locksmiths in surrounding areas, and even checking with some salvage yards for referrals, I came up with a big zero for my effort over a 3-4 month time line. No one, it seemed, either had the skill, or the inclination to come out and do my job. Until I came across Archer's Lock on this Internet site. After reading some of the reviews on this website, I called Archer's and spoke to Steve. He cheerfully informed me that they could do the job, and have someone out to my home in just a couple of days. On the appointed day, the lock installer, Nat, came over, sized up the job, and proceeded to install a work of artistry. No gouges, gaps, or split wood. Nat had been installing mortise locks for over 30 years, and was proud of his craftsmanship. He did an outstanding job, was extremely pleasant the entire time, and professionally cleaned up after himself when the install was finished. On his way out my front door, he showed me how to stop my door from rubbing on the lower sill by changing some screws, all part of his service.
