Even one star is too much!!! My experience with this company was horrible!!!!!The technician came out yesterday to provide a new fob for my Mini Cooper which I lost over the weekend. The day before the service he contacted me to confirm whether the fob was for comfort access for which I responded yes. He then stated that he would be required to "overnight" it as he did not have any on hand. However, halfway through the job, he informed me that he would be unable to program the remote for comfort access and that the cost would be substantial. I am frustrated because this important detail was not communicated to me beforehand. Had I known, I would have contacted the Mini dealership as I originally planned, rather than being charged $550 for a service I did not want or receive. I decided to take the fob to the dealership to have them program the key fob for remote access only to discover that it was not. I felt as though I was deceived because after the fact he stated in a message that "locksmiths are unable to perform that service specifically for mini coopers" so if that is indeed the case, why wasn't that communicated to me when I initially contacted them and why did he take the job?!!! I believe it is unfair to charge such a high fee when the service I requested was not provided or completed as expected. I will definitely be pursuing this legally and it's not about the money it's about the lack of transparency and misleading information that they provide to consumers. BEWARE!!!!!! read more

Not happy. I got quoted $280 and billed $350 + he used my blank key. Because supposed he didn't have it, then offers me to make a double?? Why use my key and then charge me $30 in tax. Called for service because my first time driver 16 , locked his keys in the car at our home. Called and was given a $120 quote. No problem. Called no later than 15 mins after initial call to cancel after we thankfully found the spare key. To quote , he said, "yeah right, you found a better deal huh? ", stunned and replying that we had not , but instead actually found an extra key. You said , "yeah right , buddy", and hung up. Not real professional. So quick! I lost my electronic key and within 20 minutes I was back in my car. It was a Sunday at 12:00PM. I needed to get my friends wallet out of my car quick before work. I was saved! Fast! I texted the person I talked to on the phone my location which was Skydive Elsinore and he got there fast. My car also did not allow me to open the trunk. In a matter of a minute, the locksmith got his tools out from his truck that looked like a workshop for crafting and did his magic that allowed me to pop my trunk. My key was not in the car! I would stay away from this company. I do not understand how they have such high reviews when there is no honesty behind this business. I had to pay 150 deposit for a new key fob, which is fine, but when he came to program it (which is another 150), he could not program it since the key was faulty. He still asked me to pay for the programming even though he did not even successfully program my key, which doesn't do me any good. Fast forward to the next day, I took the faulty key he had me purchase from him and they told me that the key was not good and could not be programmed because it wouldn't even communicate with the system. I called back to this business and asked for a refund on the key, since it was defective and he told me no at first (although In the U.S., there's no federal law that says merchants have to accept returns. However, retailers are required to provide a repair, exchange, or refund if a product is defective.). He started to argue with me and only agreed to give me 75 back and he wanted to the key fob back (so he can try to sell it to another individual when he knows it is a defective item). So on top of me losing 75 from initially trying to support a small company, I had to pay Hyundai Dealership over 300 dollars to program a new key fob correctly. While Hyundai was trying to program the new key, they said that the 1st Pick Locksmith did something that locked the system. I called the individual that worked on my car (owner of the company) and he said he didn't have the code. Then he calls back and said he has a photo and started using unprofessional language saying that, Hyundai Dealership doesn't know how to work on their own vehicles. After all of this, he wanted me to call him later to tell him what they did (obviously so he can learn what to do right) He might be able to unlock your vehicle, but if something goes wrong on his end, don't expect him to give you anything back. He will take your money and leave you with a failed product and your time wasted. I told him I didn't have time to go back and forth with him and to not call me because I was deploying. So he basically left my wife without a vehicle for a longer time, since he locked the system with whatever he tried to do. He was just trying stuff and didn't know what he was doing. He said, "I can send you the YouTube video that shows you how to do it, so you can see." He really just told me that he is getting trained from YouTube. That's absurd. It's better to spend 20-50 dollars extra to have the dealership do it right in the first place. read more

Wow! Service was A+. I contacted them after someone tried to steal my truck and ruined my ignition cylinder. I did not think they were going to be able to fix this without pulling the steering wheel off because the wheel was locked and the Cylinder was destroyed. Not to worry, 1st Pick Locksmith is here!!! After a long days work, I stopped by Target to grab some things for the house and my Chevy Silverado ignition key busted in half in my pocket so I was stuck. I wish I could give them no stars at all, they were overpriced and don't give AAA discounts as well even tho my AAA offered to pay for $100 of the service on top of my pay. I have 4 kids and had a baby I'm the car at the moment and they were snippy and rude. I explained my situation to them and they laughed. Tony and his wife were so professional and took the time to go over all the locks I needed replacing after two out of four of my deadbolts literally broke the metal inside. I opted to get the anti-pick Kwikset locks, and my titanium, custom security door had a nice Patina finish I wanted versus the gold so it would match the Patina handle. They went above and beyond and went to several stores just to find a match. My old key was already bending, and it broke, so I also had additional DO NOT DUPLICATE keys made since I only had one key left for my entire house. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, even though this day took a turn I wasn't expecting when the deadbolt broke and I couldn't get out my front door at all. Our office needed emergency services due to a broken lock. When I called I was advised that the "technician" would be out in 25 minutes. The technician showed up and fixed the lock but the the amount of the bill was excessive. For just 1 door knob it was almost $800. When I spoke with my co-worker she sent me a copy of the statement and it was from a totally different company. The company that came out was 1st Pick. When I called to find out why a totally different company came out than what I called, I was told they were the "mother" company and that they could do this. I am sure they BOTH got paid since the bill was so high. We previously had a locksmith provide the same service for 2 doors and it was way cheaper than what these 2 companies were for just one. We contacted this company as we needed a key for a 2018 Subaru Impreza (base model) but I asked for the combination key/remote, they come as one piece. Upon inspection when he arrived I was told the key doesn't have a chip and would not need to be programmed. I asked for a remote and was told, "oh those are very expensive" I said "ok, I need one as the car has electric door locks". He said he would need to order $450, but I do have a key now and that will be $249. I settled for the key, at this point as I lost my other key. He said, "ok" and cut me a new key (plan metal key) and said that is what it takes, I said ok and paid them. Went to go start car and alarm wont quit, great! I need the remote. So I contacted Car Keys express, another vendor and had them come out. At this point I was notified that the car does have a chip key! :( As I am wondering what I paid for, I called 1st pick again and he said he told me it wouldn't start the car. Huh? Why would I want a key for $249 that doesn't start the car? Well, if anyone reading this doesn't understand why this is wrong it's beyond me.
