Hands down, the BEST breakfast place in Lees Summit (and Liberty) and one of the best in all of the KC metro area. The service is impeccable, the food is always great and completely consistent time and time again, the pricing is good, and Ginger Sue herself is the best - she is out there bussing tables and helping her workers all the time. I admire that in a small business owner. The environment is also fun and active. I highly recommend Ginger Sue's. read more

Breakfast here was excellent. The service was seamless, the coffee was great, the food was delicious, and the plating/presentation was appealing to the eye. I eat wheat and dairy free and had the vegetable omelet (hold the cheese); I substituted the biscuit for a fruit cup. The fruit cup was freshly this sliced apples with blueberries and sliced banana; Again, very well presented. I usually make my own breakfast at home. I would be happy to eat here more often though! I, like the previous reviewer, very much enjoyed our visit to Ginger Sue's. I did, however, have time to notice the sterile and undecorated environment. We went for lunch on our anniversary and was greeted by several staff members that hovered, as there was no crowd, leaving them with nothing to do. Our server was very friendly but nothing our of the ordinary. Because it was so empty, we could here some conversation from servers hanging out in the back kitchen area that didn't seem too appropriate... Within a few minutes, several other diners joined the room so the noise level rose and echoed in the empty space, where the music was barely audible. WELL, as the other reviewer predicted, that all seemed to disappear when the food arrived. I had the veggie wrap which was loaded with delicious, FRESH veggies and plenty of romaine lettuce (exactly what I was hoping for) and my husband had one of the Scambles (I forget which one). He enjoyed it very much and the eggs were very fluffy and light! I have never been able to find a crinkle cut fry that actually crisps up but they had no problem getting theirs to do so with the seasoning on it to boot. They also serve all lunch entrees with a free taste of apple slaw. I have never had something like this before so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was very good, but nothing special. Vinegar slaws are my preference and this was one of them so yum!!! Aside from the atmosphere, let the food speak for itself! I really enjoyed the menu and LOVED that it was on the fresh/light side! I feel this is a place where we can happily go, enjoy a very delicious and filling meal but not belly-bust our diets and have to be rolled out. Was there for breakfast. Confused why they Didn't have everything listed that they had to eat, on the menu. But was asked if we wanted eggs after ordered even though it wasn't on the menu. Great pancakes. Eggs over cooked. Potataoes weren't great, wish they had hash browns. After we got our food, my son ordered toast and it took forever to get. When they finally brought it out they brought two orders. By then his eggs were cold but he ate them. Prices are pretty good and I would probably go back and try again. Great pancakes and want to try biscuits and gravy. My older son liked French toast. read more

This place was great! I ate there last weekend and had their Banana Peanut Butter Pancakes. They were perfect. The pancakes are fluffy and light, but very large so you can order the half stack and be full! The menu is not very large, but everything that we ordered from the menu was awesome and their seasoning used on the potatoes and bacon was spectacular and made you want to keep eating! We will be going back and trying more of their special pancakes and other items! read more

Always good food. Service is good too. When there's a meat and cheese quiche for the day I'm satisfied. The only complaint I would have is how noisy the place gets when it gets packed. Before 9:00am it isn't a problem, but late in the morning on a weekend morning and it seems like you can hear the conversation of a table across the room better than the people at your own table. read more

OH MY! Talk about BIG portions, this is the place! I have never seen bigger pancakes! The service is friendly and very attentive. Quickly seated, order taken immediately, and food arrived very quickly. All ingredients tasted very fresh, and the food was very flavorful. This restaurant is tucked away in an area that is not easily seen from the road, but there is ample parking, and I have never been disappointed when I have eaten here. For a place that specializes in breakfasts, this place doesn't go out of its way to fix things properly. I ordered crab eggs benedict. The crab was canned and I have no idea what the sauce was, but it was not hollandaise. If I had to guess, I would say watered down honey mustard, with lots of pepper to cover up the fishy taste. Even my husband, who ordered the classic, was disappointed. The biscuit was tasteless and the ham was from a roll. The special potatoes tasted stale, as though they'd been microwaved. I would suggest the kitchen staff get up earlier to fix things from scratch. That's the only way to do breakfast. read more

Let me start off by saying that our food was amazing. Service not so much. We had a table of 12 and called ahead to give them a heads up. When we arrived there was no water or silverware and naps on the table. While we were ordering another waitress brought some waters and coffee- which we hadn't even finished ordering yet- she set them on our table then realized they were for another table. Instead of just going and getting new waters she took the ones off our table not asking if anyone had already drank from the cup-which someone had- and proceeded to give the other table the glasses of water. Disgusting if you ask me. Our waitress Alicia was not very friendly and forgot a lot of extras that we had asked for. I understand that having a table of 12 is frustrating and a little overwhelming but ask for help I'm sure someone would be willing to. We eventually got our food, but still didnt have any silverware so one of my coworkers got up and got our entire table silverware and no one even noticed that that had happened. When our food arrived we had asked for our checks beings we were on our lunch break. It took Alicia 20 mins before she brought out checks out to us. She forgot cups for our coffees and boxes until we were literally walking out the door. Would I go back, probably not. Which sucks because the food is so good but I can't get passed the horrible service. read more

I ate here last Wednesday with my husband. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It is definitely going to be our go to fantastic breakfast spot. A-maz-ing! I had a special mushroom, spinach, and goat cheese crepe with seasoned potatoes. Honey had the bacon ham cheese omelet. His biscuit was light and fluffy. The bacon is awesome seasoned with rosemary and pepper. You should really give this place a shot. Wonderful service and the restrooms were clean. read more

Brunch date with my husband. Saw the favorable reviews and decided to check it out. The wait was pretty reasonable and the host staff was friendly. The atmosphere was pretty meh. Tables, chairs, and one giant mural on one wall. Ordered biscuits and gravy and a gravy scramble. The serving of biscuits and gravy was generous so I slid two onto my husbands plate. First bite of my biscuits and gravy was surprising... Good flavor but lukewarm at best. I tried another bite from the middle thinking maybe the edges were cold but no joy... Again lukewarm at best. When the server finally showed up to check on us (and my husband was nearly done with his food) I asked if she could warm my food - she took the plate, brought it back seconds later and yes you guessed it was STILL lukewarm. I finished my wheat toast, left the biscuits and gravy, we paid and left. Server took my plate which was obviously still full with not even a hint of concern. The restaurant was packed and people waiting so the goal was move em in and move em out. Who cares about a satisfied customer, plenty more waiting?! read more

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The hostess was very friendly and seated us instantly. The waitress greeted us and took our drink order shortly. When she returned with the drinks, she asked if we had been there before and as we had not, she gave us some good information about their menu selections and specialties. I visited the Lee's Summit location yesterday with 2 girlfriend's. We received absolutely terrible customer service from the manager/general manager. Food was decent for 2 in the party, but the third person received burnt salmon on round 1 and raw salmon on round 2. After waiting 1 hour for her salmon to be made correctly; when the third meal was sent out, we decided to cancel the to go order and in turn she would not pay for the meal. The manager proceeded to yell and said we were attempting "thievery", in her words in the middle of the restaurant, after 2 meals were paid for after eating. We were completely embarrassed in front if other customers and the manager did not attempt to make amends for the 2 over and under cooked meals or the treatment we received. We will not be returning to any location following the visit yesterday. read more

Had a horrible experience today at lunch. Ordered a bacon and cheese omelet - easy, right? Nope. The bacon was half-cooked. When I asked the manager for a new omelet (cheese only) because the bacon was so fatty (undercooked), he replied that he would, but that I would be charged for both omelets. They only replace food at no charge when THEY do something wrong to the food. I guess under-cooking the food is not their fault? Will never eat there again. read more
