The food was average. Portions were acceptable. There was nothing we had that that would compele us to return. This place is in the same location where The Egg and I was before it closed. Im going update my review since I now have been here many time now. They usually get you a table as fast as they can. Waitress is tentative and food is served quickly. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Breakfast is serve all day. Casual family atmosphere. The portion is huge. You can split a plate for two people. The Broccoli and Mashed potatoes was not as seasoned as I'd like but I'm probably not the target demographic. I tried a tuna melt and it was fantastic. With fries. Really good. We ordered via DoorDash, so we didn't experience the staff. We ordered a side salad, buffalo wings and the BLT with fries. Everything was good. Loved the seasoning on the fries. Fabulous salads, my favorite was definitely the steak fajita and the meat came separate as to not wilt the lettuce. Pegah's has the best cottage cheese and the onion petals with honey mustard is my family's favorite shareable item. It's very easy to order extra sauces and dressings. We had a family get together for breakfast ay Pegah's Lee's Summit and what a mess. We had a large group in the back room and if you showed up early you got to sit at the main table. The rest were spread out. The food was just not good. One of our group saud they can't cook eggs. So we ordered accordingly. I had the biscuits and gravy, there was very little sausage in the gravy the biscuits were crunchy and raw in the middle and was still cold. Later that day ended up with major stomach pain. My wife went with the chicken and waffles, the 2 chicken tenders were good. The waffle had a strange aftertaste. My uncle was right about the eggs. One aunt ordered over easy and they look like they came out of a steamer. Another had scrambled eggs that looked like they were chopped up fine to feed a baby. Her sausage patty was a mini hockey puck. She had to cut it with a knife. One was so hard when she cut it it shot across the table. The only person that got hot food was the one person in our group that they forgot her order and dad to rush to make. Everyone's food was cold to tepid. You can hear them in the dining room yelling at the servers. Never had a bad experience with waitresses. They are amazing. Great little spot to eat, went in and was seated quickly, but it was also not busy, got myself the Hot Cake Combo and full order of biscuits & gravy with a drink, both really good, little pricy for only going by myself which is why I can't give it 5 stars, on top of a tip it was just under $30. I will definitely go back but try to avoid spending that much, the atmosphere is nothing special, if you're going for a simple and good breakfast, this is one to go to, be mindful though it isn't the fastest place on serving food, had to wait like 15-20 mins for my food but overall, I would go back. read more

I eat here every Friday morning. The waitstaff is extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. Each week I try to find something on the menu that I don't like, and after several months I've finally given up. Everything they make is great! Chicken Alfredo was bland, I tasted nothing but garlic and butter, with a chunky sauce, the chicken is overdone and the broccoli is somehow undercooked. My BF, son and multiple friends and I have been to Pegah's several times so I thought it was time to review some things we have eaten. My son's favorites are the biscuits and gravy and eggs. My favorite thing is the super bird sandwich and the omelets have been good. I didn't care for the chicken fried chicken as it was salty but could have been an off night. My boyfriend's favorite thing is the waffles. He picks Pegah's just to have waffles. lol. The service has always been great, some of the girls know us when they see us. The seating is ok, it's the old seating that was there from the place before but there is plenty of space to move around and isn't overly crowded. We will continue to go frequently. read more

I wish I had taken a picture of the food to show how processed it was. The mashed potatoes were so white, clearly no butter. Very bland. The country fried steak tasted so processed. Mac and cheese was good but none of it was home made. The Open beef sandwich was not edible. It was pre sliced and had a strange taste. Like it was bought already cooked and sliced then served by the restaurant. The only thing that was really good was the chocolate mousse pie but even that was not made by the restaurant. They buy them from an outside company. Other breakfast plates looked good but I don't think I can trust it. The place and staff were nice but the food worse than cafeteria food. read more

I have been looking for a very long time for a restaurant that has just good "homecooked" meals and once we found this place, this is where I chose to have my birthday lunch! ! Everything from fried chicken, to meatloaf, to my most nostalgic and favorite meal, liver and onions! They cooked it perfectly, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were just like my mom made! There was so much food I couldn't eat it all, so had leftovers for the next day! I also had the German chocolate cake so don't skip dessert!! Don't let the simplicity of the inside and the unassuming front, this is a great place. Emmy was our server and she was very attentive and constantly refilled waters, and asked us how we were doing. Food was great, service was top shelf and the overall experience and ambience was good. Enjoyable experience and good food.

We waited less than 5 mins to be seated. Whole place was clean. Service was quick but food did take long enough for the kids to complain. Food was all amazing I got the stroganof and the gravy on the bread was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Wife got liver and onions which was good but missing gravy and kids both got breakfast foods they both loved. Many choices for dessert we got coconut creampie, lemon meringue pie and turtle cheesecake all were great. I was excited about trying out the diner food for breakfast. This place is newly opened, so I'm trying to cut them a break, but sheesh. We arrived at 6:30 for breakfast , when they opened. It was a cold morning and freezing cold inside. The food was very marginal. My wife's biscuits and gravy had gravy she said tasted like it came out of a can and had a sausage patty cut up on top. She didn't finish it. I had the half AM starter. It had one egg I ordered over medium, a sausage patty, hash browns I ordered extra crispy, that didn't happen, and an English muffin. When the meal arrived the egg looked like it had been poached, or something and then finished off on the grill - weird. The sausage patty was small and flavorless. The English muffin was griddle-grilled, not toasted. When the server asked how everything was I told her I didn't get my extra crispy hash browns and she said she knew that. She said when she told the cook extra crispy on the hash browns the cook said that would take forever and decided not to do it. Huh? There is a lot of fixing that needs to be done here. read more
