I've been coming here for years, and it's still one of my favorite go-to spots. I recently came for lunch with my mom and little sister, and our server was incredibly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I noticed they've switched to using glass milk bottles for water, letting you pour it yourself. As someone who drinks a lot of water, I really appreciated not having to wait for refills--it was such a nice touch! I've never had a bad meal here, and this visit was no exception. The Brussels sprouts were ~~hands down~~my FAVORITE! My husband who is WILD about pasta, was astounded by his Spinach & Artichoke Pasta with shrimp and chicken. The first night I ordered take out it was delicious. I was so happy about it, I went for a second night in a row. I went to the take out area and I told a server my name and what I was waiting on. It wasn't ready, so I patiently waited for about 25 min. I thought one of the multiple servers walking past me as I stood in the take out area against the wall on my phone, would stop and ask me or bring me my take out. They didn't. They don't give a fuck because they don't make tips on it. I finally asked the bartender what was up with my take out, this was almost 50 min after I put the order in. I got the food home. It was cold and the chicken was so overcooked I could barely get the knife through it. And apparently the chefs here don't know how to prepare asparagus. You break off the hard fibrous ends! Duh. This happened both times I ordered here. These are culinary basics. The food is overpriced for what it is. If you order takeout, ask the servers multiple times about your food, because they def don't care, and the management has a very ineffective system of giving people takeout. Never again. read more

Overall, pretty good - I ordered nachos as an appetizer - which was SO good - it really hit the spot. We probably should've went 'light' on the cheese because there was a TON of it (I know most people like this though). For the main mail, I got a veggie burger and it was delicious. I have been going to this location for over 10 years! I love how 54th Street forever evolves and just gets better. This place has food for EVERYONE! You can get wings, burgers, pasta, salads, protein bowls, crab cakes, steak... literally has a little bit of everything. I have never heard anyone turn down a meal here as a suggestion. We had a really great lunch with a chicken avocado griller and fries. They have a special right now for a $10 lunch and I have to say that the servings are very generous and it's a very great price for a lunch. The food was very tasty. The chicken itself was about 3/4 inch high and very juicy, done to perfection and very tasty. The server was very polite and attentive to refills. COVID-19 Update: Reduced occupancy, masks required when seated, mask and gloves for employees as appropriate, social distancing enforced, hand sanitizer available on each table, sanitized after each customer, carry out, curbside, and delivery available. The lock downs have reduced their business (as is the case with most restaurants) so wait staff has been slightly reduced. It appears that curbside demand has increased a lot and I believe that has slowed down the kitchen. Slight changes to the menu, but food quality has remained consistent. We had 7 in our party and some meals take longer to prep. My food must have been made first or last and fast because my food was cold. Like either it was just outside the warmer waiting for the rest of our entrees or not fried long enough. The waitress took the whole plate when I mentioned it and didn't return with another until we were ready to leave. They gave it to me in a to go box and comped it, which was nice, but I would have liked to have eaten with everyone else. One of the most terrible places to eat. Employees do not care about good service. Absolutely messed up every order. Honestly hard to blame the employees beyond just having integrity in their work. The management is disturbing to say the least. Jessica the General manager is the most un professional non caring of her job individual I can even imagine. The order was incorrect and almost inedible. Jessica is the last person that should ever run a food restaurant or any business. Absolutely disgusting human being. I even tested her integrity by calling a third time to confirm that she was aware that her customer service was unexceptable. After asking if she would even take a formal complaint, she said yes. As I was not even completed with the first sentence into the complaint, she just hangs up. Again I mean an Absolutely disgusting human being. Hard to blame the employees with such absolutely terrible leadership. Not to mention the restaurant was dirty and disgusting. Tables not busted. Trash and food all on the floor. This place does look like an Applebee's, but the food tastes way better. I really enjoyed the Catfish named Wanda ($12.50). The fish tasted fresh (it didn't taste rubbery at all, so I suspect it wasn't frozen) and the breading was just right: thin, crispy and seasoned. Biscuit was nice too (I requested some honey) and the Mac m cheese was a hit w/my son. We would come back again! Though I will try to avoid peak rush. The chicken tenders were not so tender and the potato soup was more scallions then potatoes, so no scallions next time and the potatoes that were in it ( very few) were almost raw. French fries were good but hard to screw them up. All in all for a meal that is pricey very disappointed. Bad night for the chef. I should have known it was going to be iffy when they forgot the soup and the drink to begin with.
