Bacon cheeseburger and fries

This has become one of my go-to restaurants. The food, cocktails and service are consistently good. The weekday specials like $5 burger Monday, half price happy hour Tuesday or half price bottles of wine Sunday give me a reason to stop in many days of the week. The chimichurri salmon salad is my fave. But today I tried the fish tacos and they were so yummy. It might be my new fave. They have gf and pescatarian options. Today I tried a dirty martini cocktail. It was kinda sweet. They make sweeter cocktails the best. The dirty martini was meh. The ambiance is casual but energetic. Friendly service from rey, sierra or Sunni is an added bonus. Ben the manager is also delightful. If you go for brunch try the beignets- so delish. There's something on the menu for everyone.

Excellent burgers. Food came out right away. I had the three cheeses burger and it was cooked to order. Tasted very good and was served with tasty fries. The ambiance was very nice. The restaurant was kept clean. The service could be improved as we weren't checked on. I would recommend it and will definitely be going back.

I anticipated Red Door to give me ... "zing". We did set up a reservation. There was a small wait regardless. Unfortunately their "waiting area" is so small. We ended up waiting at the entryway, until a party was called so we could stand and wait indoors. The Espresso Martini was good, nothing special. We shared the Killer Calamari paired with their Korean dipping sauce, went well together. Hubs had the KC Strip & fries. Medium rare - he loved it. I had the Cajun pasta. Unfortunately there was something missing from the pasta. There was no hint of spice, or anything that would tell me it's " Cajun" flavored. Almost bland but did taste like they tried. Service was good - we were constantly checked on. Red door let me down a bit - was expecting more for the price.

Great time at the bar on a Thursday. Jalapeño fried chicken is so so good. I love Richard, he provides the best service at the bar! He made me the little cocktail. When I arrived around 545, bar was packed but thinned out quite a bit after 610. See you soon, Richard.

I've always gone to the Leawood location but had met up a friend in LS for dinner on Thursday evening. Luckily for us that was fried chicken night! I had never tried it before but omg! So good! It was so much food I took some home but delicious nonetheless. We did have a reservation and they were super busy when we got there, but we got a comfortable booth when it was our time. The place is decorated for Christmas which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was okay, friendly but obviously busy and refills were a little delayed. Over all it was a good dinner and the food was excellent!

Happy Hour Deals are amazing! Spinach Dip and chips and Cumin Salmon were on the menu for me. Booths, tables, upstairs available for large parties. Servers are very sweet and knowledgeable about food

B&Gs m, nice kick!!!

Bottomless mimosa, B&Gs. Sunny behind the bar was great!! Friendly and good Sunday Funday with 1/2 price bottles.

This place was great! It was our first time here or at any Red Door. We got seated quickly on a busy Saturday night. The hostesses were friendly and kind. We were seated in Dominick's section. He was very attentive and efficient. We both had the whiskey prime rib. I had mine cooked medium and hers was medium rare. Both were perfect. We liked this better than Texas Roadhouse. The food was better and it was more quiet in Red Door. The ambiance was nice with the Christmas decorations. Our entrees came out before our salads. We noted that to the guy who brought the entrees, who happened to be the manager and he gave us a credit for the salads without us asking. Very classy. We'll return more in the future for sure. We even picked up a gift card for our neighbor.

Red Door is always very good and consistent. The service is friendly. The food is always very good and the menu is big enough to accommodate everyone. When I visit my dad this is our go to spot

Great food and service. The wall art was a little creepy, but the pretzel bites were definitely the best part.

It was nice so we sat on the patio. The brunch menu is small but packs a nice variety. I ordered the tater tot bowl minus bacon add chicken tinga. It was delicious. The tots were crispy, soft scramble egg, avocado, and cheesy goodness. My companion ordered the belly burger. She said it was delicious ious too. For apps we ordered the hummus. It was good. On a previous visit, I ordered the spicy peanut noodle bowl with shrimp and the dynamite shrimp app. Yum!! Both were loaded with flavor. Forgot to take a pic. From 10-11:30 on weeekends, mimosas are $1.99. What a deal!! And of course I had to try all the flavors! Cran-orange is my fav. They have a great happy hour, daily specials, kids menu, vegetarian menu and some gf options. I will definitely be back to try the pancakes and Nashville chicken Sammy. Shout out to Mike the manager and Rey my server my making my dining experiece so very lovely. This casual spot is ideal for families with small children, couples, groups and celebrations.

The continued downfall of First Watch in Lee's Summit…read more A while back it was announced that First Watch corporate has purchased the previous franchise location in Lee's Summit. I have been a regular customer there for quite a while. When the franchise owned this location, the food was great, the location was extremely clean and efficient and most of the employees were very happy there. Since the buyback, the food has really done downhill. My orders, generally a simple breakfast, have consistently been incorrect. Over hard eggs come out runny, their famous cubed potatoes are consistently luke warm at best, order crispy bacon and out comes the opposite. I was informed by a few current employees that the new ownership has now cut back the hours of long-standing, formally happy, now disgruntled servers to 4 days a week. These workers are very upset and disgruntled. It's a much longer drive now but if I want a great breakfast with happy employees, I go to the Corner Cafe in Independence. Very sad situation indeed!!

I could describe every experience with this restaurant but I'll leave you with the previous few. And I know what you're thinking, if the food was so bad, why do you keep going back? Well, hope and optimism. Rooting for Roots! We want the local place to succeed, but we've come to the conclusion that what they really need in order to improve, is honest feedback. But part of me hopes that it changes nothing. And here's why... my wife and I love this place. But in a weird way... allow me to explain, imagine the place as a Saturday Night Live sketch where the staff, the menu and ambiance are unapologetically pretentious, but the food doesn't deliver on any level. It's pure entertainment. We have dinner and an inside joke. First of all, for the price, you naturally expect elevated dishes and excellent service. We both had a cocktail, a glass of wine with dinner, an appetizer, entrees, salad and desert. Around $250 with tip. Pricey, but reasonable if the place delivers. On one visit we had the duck, which was served undercooked and when we mentioned it to the waiter, she scoffed, "that's the way it's supposed to be served." So feeling duly chastised for our ignorance, we shut up and ate the duck. I don't know the organism involved, but my wife and I were up all night vying for access to the bathroom. Enough said. Things were dicey, but no trips to the hospital. Six months or so had passed and finally, last night we rolled the dice and tried Roots again. My wife said her dinner was fine. She had stuffed salmon, adequate, but not great. For me, It was between the steak and the pork belly. Now I had the steak before once and it was... well it was definitely a steak. I'm not going to say much about it except for this... if you like the taste of a good glass of water, order the steak. So having experienced the steak already, I ordered the pork belly, which is an extremely tasty and forgiving cut of meat in my experience. But somehow at Roots, they figured out how to prepare it poorly. Yikes! It was dry as a bone, but only in the places where it wasn't tough as shoe leather. It had to have sounded like a rock when it hit the plate. The naturally rich flavor was cooked completely out of it, and any surviving seasonings were successfully burned away during the cremation process. I was starving so I made a valiant effort at finishing it, but it took several glasses of water and an inordinate amount of chewing. My wife laughed at me the whole time. I offered her a bite but she demurred, quipping that it had been a long week and she simply didn't have the energy. It was served with a "slaw" that consisted primarily of a plain sliced onion and slices of flavorless apple devoid of seasoning or dressing. I honestly don't know how this dish made it out of the kitchen, let alone a chef's imagination. It has become a quest for my wife and me. Like the holy grail of dining experiences, only a few minutes from our home. Ever the optimists, we will just keep trying Roots again every six months or so and hope for better on each trip... or not. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, please try Roots. We want them to succeed so we can keep coming back and having these comically terrible experiences. If pretentious irony is your spirit animal, please try roots. And Roots, please keep trying. We will keep spending $250 bucks for "dinner" and a show. PS, to add to your experience, ask for a booth when you arrive for your reservation, they will look you up and down and politely say "no" as they walk you past 4 empty booths. No explanation...

Roots Seasonal Cuisine is one of my favorite spots in Lee's Summit, and my latest happy hour visit…read morereminded me exactly why. I stopped in with my girlfriend Lisa, who loves this place so much they basically have a little corner reserved for her. She likes to work from there because the Wi-Fi is good, the vibe is comfortable, and the food is consistently amazing. We sat at the bar, had a couple glasses of wine, and Austin took great care of us. Lisa had the steak special, which was the ribeye, and I had the salmon. Both were really, really great. The salmon was cooked beautifully and the whole meal was exactly why I keep coming back. One small callout: there was a $3 difference between what the salmon was listed for on the menu and what I was charged. I let Austin know so they could catch it for future guests. It did not change my overall experience, but I appreciated being able to mention it. Brandon, one of the co-owners, is amazing. He came out and spoke with us, and that personal touch is part of what makes Roots feel special. You can tell they care about the food, the service, and the people who come in. Their happy hour is amazing, and their seasonal menu changes are superb. I love coming in and trying different things. The salmon tacos are delicious, the birria fries are a must, and I always look forward to seeing what new crostini they are featuring since those change every few months. Roots is consistent without being boring. Great food, great service, great drinks, and a menu that keeps giving you a reason to come back. Can't wait to come back. See y'all next week.

THANKS ERIC (with a C!!) Our food was nicely plated, temperature perfect and portions were VERY generous. The Classic Breakfast was my choice. Eggs cooked as directed, breakfast potatoes, one smallish, breakfast sausage in natural casing. A steak knife would have been helpful. I don't know the brand of bacon they serve, but it was FABULOUS! Thick sliced, prepared beautifully and mmmm, mmmm GOOD! The plate includes a Cheddar Biscuit. It is BIG and delicious LOOKING! I had to bring it, half of my potatoes and the sausage "to go". My husband ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit. He was not a fan of the less than tasty sausage. #DIL ordered a Chicken Biscuit - - she shared a bite of the chicken. Let's just say, I KNOW what I will be ordering NEXT time we go. Our grandson ordered his favorite Biscuits & Gravy. HUGE portions, suitable for a growing young man. We will be back! P.S. The Gilded Pear cocktail was delicious. The Key Lime Pie was exquisite. Lovely plating and scrumptious. I shared it with my husband PLUS we brought half of it home.
