This was my first visit here and it was yummy. The service was friendly, though the food took a bit to come out. The buffalo chicken sandwich was huge and very tasty. The double cheeseburger was also good. The fries were crispy and good, but the fried mushrooms with ranch were the best. We'd definitely get the mushrooms again. You also get a free drink with a sandwich and side purchases, that was nice. Lots of dessert choices, but we tried a cherry milkshake and it was very creamy and delicious for $5, but wish it was a little bigger for the price. Overall everything was tasty but the prices are definitely a bit high. The location is in a strip mall and feels a bit sketchy especially after dark and being connected to a liquor store. read more

REALLY wanted to love this joint. Close to home, seems to be a local mom and pop place, promotes well on social media. Here's my take. Got a regular cheeseburger, because I want to judge the foundations before adding frills. Bun good. Patty size good. Cheese, ketchup and mustard all fine. Grilled onions a bit burnt. Patty was a bit tough and needed seasoning. (Why do places not salt their burgers?) Value iffy. After burger cost and taxes/charges, more expensive than BK, which at least gets flame flavor. Also, pickles would be a nice option, but nowhere to be found. Really no options for some crunch to give some contrast. Summary, I would try again, but not yearning to. Sorry, and hope they take this as constructive opinions. A couple more positives to note: I placed my order online, and it was ready by the time I got there -- faster than they said it would take. This fish sandwich was awful and took forever to get. It was a piece of American cheese and a tepid piece of fish, nothing else, mot even tartar sauce. I should have said I wanted lettuce and whatever else they might offer. Staff was pleasant. I might try again in the future. read more

Let's start off, locally owned. Everything is cooked fresh. Staff was busy and presented well. Good job. The food. Its grilled so it has a good flavor. Now being grilled I prefer my burger a little pink. Next time I will ask for that. By no means was it over cooked it was just drier than I like a fantastic never frozen burger to be. Fries and tater tots were good. Now onion rings I love good onion rings. These are hand battered onions. Again I like a bit of a crunch but these were a bit past that. .maybe a minute less in the fryer. The Hickory Burger is a double... I had to use a knife and fork. It was plenty of a burger to fill me up. Oh and the place was really clean with a free play video game in the corner. A Ventura Royals Jersey on the wall made my day. Would I return. We found this place while cleaning out my moms house in Riverside. Wow! I've had the mushroom Swiss burger, the regular cheeseburger, the Philly cheesesteak and the grilled chicken sandwich. Great service, great simple, delicious hamburgers with toasted sesame buns and a big assortment of sides! It is charming and comfortable. The liquor store access in the restaurant is a little unusual for a family place but if you go early like 5:00 for dinner it has a great atmosphere. Some KC sports decor. I didn't check the bathrooms. The menu is very well styled and easy to understand and read. You can see everything that comes with your selection. Super impressed! You order at the counter and we had a party of 7. Each ordered a burger, side and drink/shake. We were a pretty chaotic bunch but everything but 1 shake came out perfectly. So, on this eve of Thanksgiving Day I find myself in need of running a couple of errands. That means getting out of my warm, comfortable, safe, hermit hole and going out into the cold cruel world! And as I was finishing up this run of errands that void in my abdominal cavity, that you could fit two universes in, told my brain it needed to be fed right away, or else! Now since I was down on Vivian Road, when I remembered a new burger joint had taken over the old LCS down in Northmoor/Riverside. So, I changed the direction of my Horseless Carriage and headed over to Riverside. Now the name of this place is called the KC Burger Joint and like I said it was in the old LC's building next to the liquor store. Everything is cooked to order so expect to wait on your order. The burger I got was as fresh and as tasty.. When they brought it to the table the onion rings were still sizzling hot, fresh, and crispy straight from the fryer. You could feel the heat coming off of them and the aroma of the burger and the onion rings was out of this world. And as you can see the onion rings are old school. It looks like they were dipped just before they were dropped to the hot oil. The burger came out fully dressed, nothing on the side, a quarter pound burger patti loaded with rich, savory beef flavor, along with the cheese and the bacon and the lettuce and the tomato made for an excellent lunch. It looks like the Northland has another decent burger joint, don't be afraid to give this place a try! Well done KC Burger Joint! Well done indeed! We eat there at least twice a week. The food is a real step above other similar restaurants. This is a family run operation and they take great pride in their place. It's a quiet place too. There's a big lunch rush every day. But now that they're serving breakfast it's even more attractive a place to eat and meet friends. The prices are very reasonable too. read more

The burger is a smash burger and it was slightly overcooked and dry, but it tasted ok. The onion rings were cooked good. No alcohol is sold at the burger section of the place. However a liquor store is attached to the restaurant and a hookah shop is also attached, which is puzzling. As far as the atmosphere this place seems like it can't decide what is to be sold. As far as cleanliness I'd say it's semi clean. So the question I ask myself, would I drive to this place? I live about 15 miles away, and I would not make the drive here. The divorce with LC's finally went through and apparently the cooks and customer service went to live with dad and his hot new wife in Malibu. I used to eat here when it was LC's at least once every couple of weeks but this was my first time at "The Joint". Color me unimpressed. The menu has a lot of the same stuff on it so I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Like LC's, The Joint cooks your food when you order it, so it might take a couple of minutes waiting time but your food will be hot, if nothing else. First, the good. The onion rings were perfect. Crispy, hot and a nice slice of onion inside. There were enough rings in the order to satisfy my cravings. Now the not-so-good. My drink didn't have the right amount of syrup in it so it was exceptionally mediocre. The burger was drenched in mayonnaise so I couldn't taste the meat. Worst of all, the huge slice of bacon was undercooked which was incredibly unappealing to try and bite through. But the amount of grease and mayo dripping off my burger literally left a huge puddle of it in my basket. I only ate about a third of the burger and I had had enough so I pitched my $15 combo in the trash. I might go back again (and ask for my bacon to be well-done ... lol) but then again, maybe I won't. read more

i was never a fan of the original LC's in Platte Woods, I always considered them over-rated and hated the small cramped waiting/dining area. A few weeks ago they opened a Northmoor location on Vivion Rd and it's extremely close to work. I reluctantly went in for a lunch and have been back 4 times. Each visit has been a very good experience! I have ventured outside of the burgers also and tried the Reuben, the BLT, and the Tenderloin. All above average with the BLT offering a ton of smoky crispy bacon. With a sandwich and side the drink is free so you will be dropping about $8 - $11 for a combo. Plenty of seating unlike the original. They have exceeded my expectations and I'm glad they are in my work neighborhood! read more

This location is oddly located inside a liquor store and depending on your proclivities, may or may not be super convenient; however, the space is defined and you will find a welcoming room full of hungry folks and pleasant employees. On the menu, they are offering those delicious burgers with patties and their delicate and lacy edges to entice you with their crispy fatty flavor. The perfect bite of soft bun with the juicy center of the burgher suffused with onions results in an excellent flavor. I like mustard and pickles as a perfect pairing with the plan white soft bun to round out the flavor profile. I recommend you opt for the double deal, it's a half pound of burger - two patties, fries and a drink. Don't let the location (in a sketchy looking strip mall) fool you. Same goes for what you see when you walk in. This is truly a case of "Don't judge a book by its cover ". Sad I've been eating Lcs since the 70s my last couple meals have been a disappointment. Once the burger when I got home was burnt around the edges and the onion was burnt. I went again to the northmore store in August and my burger was so soggy from the condiments that I took off that bun and later buyers I ask for without condiments. Today all 3 of the sandwich I picked up the buns were falling apart , the burger meat is so thin now that to its falling apart. All I could taste was bun the meat was so thin. I always loved my greasy burger but next time I will go back to the one in Platte Woods and hope it hasn't spread to there. Also no one had a mask and no note on the door about it, I had mine on I'm having heart surgery next weeks so I'm not taking any chances. read more

I've been coming to LC's for about 30 years. I've enjoyed their chicken sandwiches for as long as I can remember. The chicken breast fillet used to be so big that it would overhang the entire bun and it seemed to be hand battered. My family ordered 4 chicken sandwiches a couple days ago and was shocked to see that LC's is now using what seems to be a deep fried frozen processed chicken patty instead of the larger hand battered fillet that they used for the past 30+ years. For a $6 chicken sandwich, I was pretty disappointed to say the least...... My family and I won't be coming back to LC's anytime soon if they plan on giving less and still charging more. read more

I had ordered from Door Dash a few days ago, and had specific instructions as I have a fatal allergy to tomatoes. Tasty, if slightly greasy, burgers on a decent bun at a cheap price. Be advised that the fries are not included - you have to pay a whole extra ~$3.50 for those, and while they are good - sliced McDonald's-thin, well-salted and crisp without being soggy - you get /very/ few of them, comparable to or less than you'd get in a dollar menu pouch from said fast-food chain. This place is the worst, the owner needs to completely re-think this location. Every single person on the staff is under 18, and just dumb as hell. there is absolutely no customer service, when you walk in they just stare at you and then act very annoyed that they have actually do something. Forget pick up orders, you call in, they say "10-15 min" 30 minutes later you'll be lucky to get your food. The whole establishment is filthy and sticky and the staff refuse to clean anything. How the health department hasn't shut this place down yet, I will never understand. read more
