The double patty smash burger was a smashing success. The outdoor seating and heat lamp helped make for a cozy place to sit and the staff was kind. The burger has everything you want in a smash burger - squishy, soft buns, American cheese in every bite, and a trademarked crispy outside I have never seen before in a smashburger. I'd get this burger again in a heartbeat walking by on a nice summer day.
Disco Burger is the best smash burger in Kansas City right now. There, I said it. In my humble opinion, if you are on the hunt for a solid, classic, burger. One that hits all the marks - great flavor, crispy edges, solid sauce, gooey cheese, this is it. Sure there are others in town, but from the first to final bite, this one had me hooked. The fries were also awesome, the drinks at Varsity are equally wonderful. If you like a no frills, hamburger do yourself a favor and go here. Even my five year old agreed. We all can't wait to return!
This was my first time here, a place I've been wanting to try for a while! Situated in the River market, it should be your next burger place to visit! We went to varsity club and secured a table, ordered from our phones! We got burgers and fries- this is their main offering, though they do have a patty melt, hot dog and some vegetarian options. This was a Friday night, it was pretty busy- we waited over 35+ minutes, but I must admit the fries were worth it! Perfectly crisp and salted! The burger itself was good, a nice double cheese burger. Tasty! Prices aren't too expensive and the perfect place to grab a burger and drink. Overall, the wait was a tad long - understandable though. I will definitely be back!
This place is legit! I'm a cheeseburger connoisseur in the same realm as Andy Reid. A big boy who loves cheeseburgers. This is the one you're looking for. For the proper bread to meat ratio, I opt for a triple cheeseburger hold the disco sauce and add mustard. These patties are smashed with super thin and crispy edges. Honestly, they're fantastic. They also have ice cream and some of the best crinkle fries you will find in town. Disco Burger is in a food truck outside of Varsity Club bar. This place is special. Come on down and enjoy one of the top five burgers in the metro. I will die on this hill.

It was a warm evening, but the shady picnic tables tucked behind the Varsity Club made for the perfect breezy hangout spot. Let's talk about that double cheeseburger magic coming out of the food trailer. The smash burger had just the right char, gooey cheese in all the right places, and the Disco Sauce tied it all together. Absolute perfection. And those crinkle fries? Unreal. Crispy, salty, and straight-up addictive. I shamelessly ate two orders and seriously considered going back for a third. I washed it all down with the Tommy Bahama cocktail--a rum, banana, and mango concoction that was tropical vacation in a cup. So good I ordered another without hesitation. You know the service is good when you can see them making the food fresh. It's nested behind a cool lounge and it the perfect spot to eat, drink, chill or even watch the game.
I decided to try the food at this fun, cute little truck near the River Market area called Disco Burgers and I really enjoyed it! They share their space with The Varsity Club, where you can grab drinks and then head over to this food truck for food with an open seating area. Disco Burgers offers burgers with a choice of single or multiple patties, fries, and patty melts. I got the double-patty burger and their fries. I got my burger five minutes after ordering so the service was pretty fast. They have a text number based ordering system and it will send you a message after the order is ready. The burger was well-cooked and loaded with toppings from onions to pickles and their "Disco sauce," which was similar to Cane's sauce on a potato bun. It wasn't gooey or moist, that's usually how I prefer having it, but it was yummy!! The French fries were the highlight of my meal. They were delicious, super crunchy, perfectly fried, and well-seasoned. A serious 10/10! The pricing was reasonable -$11 for the double patty and $2.50 for fries.Parking might be a challenge on weekends, and seating near the food truck is limited, so it fills up quickly. I don't think you can bring food inside The Varsity Club but can do vice versa as mentioned before. If you love a classic well-cooked beef burger on a potato bun, this is your spot!
Best burger I've had in KC. Perfect smash burger and the crinkle fries are perfectly executed. Love the little bar it's associated with too. Went during lunchtime on a Saturday and it was a perfect, quick weekend treat. Everyone that works here is super friendly.

We got the double and it was so flavorful and fresh. The cheese, pickles and raw onions were all great but the pickles were definitely my favorite part of the burger aside from the meat of course. The patties are smashed very nicely and I love the crispy edges. They serve from a food truck but there is more than enough seating. This is a great place for a quick casual lunch. If you're in the river market definitely check this place out.
My absolute FAVORITE burger. I find any excuse to get down to River Market just to grab a burger here. It's our stop before or after any Current game and we've taken friends and family. You can order with a QR code or order in person. We opted out of the QR code and ordered in person. Ordering was fast and they were great in accommodating our customizations. We got the disco sauce on the side instead of on the burger and got all toppings for the hot dog on the side. We also added grilled onions to our burger! The burger was cheesy and delicious! The fries were crispy and salty (which I love). I loved dipping the fries in the disco sauce but don't think I would get it on my burger. It is a little bit more on the expensive side, after tip and service fee it was around $50 but I did see on the menu that they have 20% off on Mondays! A con would be parking. It took us a while to find parking on a Wednesday night, so I can only imagine how hard it is if visiting on the weekends.

First time trying disco burger over the weekend, live right down the street and I understand the hype!! The burgers was amazing, the fries were elite (I'm a sucker for crinkle cut and these were perfect, I'd go back just for the fries), time was a bit long (20 minute wait), but I understand why, the restaurant was packed/busy (rightfully so) for a place with excellent food in a weekend. Will 100% be back!! read more
A cool little food truck style outdoor kitchen that serves some delicious smash burgers in a very fun casual outdoor space! The space outside is not particularly large but there seemed to be plenty of seating for everyone on the porch tables. The burger is the smash style burg and it's greasy and delicious in the best way possible! The fries are crinkle cut and definitely hit the spot after a beer or two. The drink menu is surprisingly large mostly featuring cocktails with a good handful of beers too. The interior space is super interesting featuring rocky limestone like walls and a big bar. I had heard amazing things about Disco burger and wanted to try it out for myself. I just happened to be in the area so I stopped by. They are located nearby the City Market, outside of The Varsity Club. You can order at the truck or from a number of QR codes inside. I ordered from the code inside while grabbing a beverage. The online ordering system was easy and my food came out a lot quicker than I expected and it was accurate. I like that they bagged it up for an easy to go option. Or you can eat there at-outside or inside. The menu is pretty limited and they do accept minor changes, such as removing onions from a burger. I went with a double disco burger and fries. The burger was really good. It was juicy and good sized. I wasn't sure about the disco sauce initially but it grew on me. There was only the option to remove the sauce from the burger entirely and I really wanted it on the side. I'm sure you could order like that directly from the truck. But the sauce is good and there's really no need to do that. They serve crinkle cut fries in little boats with ketchup. Crinkle cuts are always good. I really have no complaints about the food. I will definitely return when I need another burger fix. read more

Great food truck smburger outside Varsity Club in the river market. I loved the signature sauce on the burger and with the fries. I normally do not go for crinkle cut fries but they were surprisingly delicious. They were nice and crispy and went well with the sauce. I do apologize for the picture but the burger was just so good I had to dig right in! After my burger and fries, I followed it up with their pistachio cherry chocolate ice cream. The portion was pretty big and I ended up sharing. Overall, I loved the patio vibe as well as the Varsity Club. I am already craving another great burger. read more
Alert!! Disco Burger is doing Sunday Brunch now! Well... "blunch" as they affectionately call it. You can of course still get the smash burgers, but for blunch, they have added a breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns! I am a self-proclaimed breakfast sandwich connoisseur, and this was so tasty! Love the paprika mayo and the hashbrown addition to a classic sausage egg and cheese! The other was ready quick and easy to pick up at the truck behind Varsity Club! Feeling blessed to live within walking distance to this breakfast sandwich! read more

The location/ patio area is the best part about this food truck. The burger is good but small. The bun was also smashed and the fries are expensive for a small serving of what looks like fries that came out of a freezer bag. There was no customer service but the wait wasn't long. read more
disco burger has one of the best burgers in the kc metro. the burger is simple yet impactful. the hot dog is good too. if you're with other people, get the fry plate. it's more than enough for 2-4 people. you can order online to beat any lines (it's likely there will be some line). there's no drinks available but you can go inside varsity club and grab one. if you're there for breakfast, get the breakfast sandwich and add the hash brown. it's fantastic. there's a mixed crowd. since it's pretty much outside, you can bring kids and let them roam in the the grassy area. would not recommend kids in the late night with varsity club popping and the crowd from there grabbing a burger. nice addition to river market! read more

There is a lot to like about Disco Burger...and a few things that were quite annoying. So what did i like you ask? Well the burger was pretty damn tasty. My double - $11.25 - was smashed flat as it should be with some nice crispy edges, lots of gooey runny cheese and a 'disco sauce" that only complimented the sandwich and the two vegetables - onions and pickles. Fries were crinkle cut - $3.00 - for a small serving. Annoyances...ordering. Scan a QC code, place your order on-line, pay with cc and then wait for a text to pick it up. That's all fine and dandy in the new economy but don't automatically request a 20% tip and charge me a service fee for using your ordering system. No one is providing any customer service skills here. I'm doing the ordering at my table, having to retrieve it, getting my own water at a large cooler...and you want 20% and a service fee charge...get out of here! Ketchup - I know that you didn't over indulge me with an abundance of fries, but two little packets...put the ketchup packets out with the water for self service and those of us the like to dip. 5 star burger, 3 stars for value and peripheral annoyances. read more

Feels good to have a burger from a place where I can wear my hat backwards. I got a double burger which means that there are TWO patties on it. I must add that I was pleased that a double burger did NOT double the price ! and the water was free from a jug! read more
