Denver omelet with potatoes and biscuit
    Ashley F.

Stopped in today to treat myself for breakfast. Ordered the Denver omelet with potatoes and a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit is so soft and delicious. They had a special coffee on the menu. A hazelnut almond latte. It was flavorful and comforting. Service was great and the place was super clean.

We had breakfast here again. Again, it is a delightful place for breakfast. I haven't had lunch here, but that's because we can't get enough of their crab benedict breakfast. This time we had a lemon/blueberry pancake to split between my husband and I. The service is still good and food is always delivered promptly. I took a snapshot of our breakfast in order to show how big the pancake is.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday after shopping, and were seated promptly. I assume most people come earlier for breakfast. My fiancé ordered a breakfast entree, but I went with the salmon. I was honestly surprised at how good the salmon was. The portion size was large so I was able to eat the rest for lunch the next day.

Enjoyed this solo date! I walked in & was immediately seated. I did have my work laptop with me (sn: they do not have wifi) & was able to work uninterrupted. My waitress was very attentive & assisted me with everything I needed. The place was clean & the food was super fresh & delightful. Very spacious & not too loud in there either. One of my favorite places!

    French toast - highly recommend!

We had a very tasty brunch here while visiting family. It is a favorite spot for them. The fruit smoothies were very good. And my French toast was delicious! This is a nice spot!

We stopped for breakfast on our way into the city and Ginger Sue's is great. We were greeted and sat quickly and our food came out nice and hot. The waitresses did a great job making sure everyone had what they needed and the low chatter amongst the tables was comforting and enjoyable. Bathrooms and dining area were both clean. Will definitely stop in again and try the Benedict next time.

Ginger Sues is known as one of the top spots to visit for breakfast, brunch, or lunch (whichever you prefer) in Lee's Summit. You can also find Ginger Sue's at a few other spots located in the Greater KC area! From fluffy pancakes, to steamy lattes (including seasonal flavors), to mouthwatering peppered bacon, and more...you cannot go wrong with any option ordered at Ginger Sue's. The scramble bowls are packed with fresh ingredients that will have you leaving the restaurant stuffed. I ordered the Gravy Scramble, which has tasty potatoes and three scrambled eggs stacked with sausage, ham, mushrooms, and cheddar-jack cheese topped with peppered sausage gravy...YUM! We also ordered the super stuffed breakfast burrito that is served with a side of breakfast potatoes. To finish the meal, we shared a blueberry pancake with syrup. This spot is absolutely delicious and worth the wait (if you have one).Add this breakfast spot to your KC bucket list!

Quiet open arrival, but as it quickly gained patrons, it was difficult with hearing aids to carry on a conversation. Old building, high ceilings - - LOTS of conversations. It's busy with 30 to 50 year olds. It was an absolute JOY to witness their gatherings, hugs and smiles. Eric - - our server, was very kind, patient and helped explain several of the questions we had regarding the menu. We APPRECIATED his attention to our large water carafe, filling it frequently. THANKS ERIC (with a C!!) Our food was nicely plated, temperature perfect and portions were VERY generous. The Classic Breakfast was my choice. Eggs cooked as directed, breakfast potatoes, one smallish, breakfast sausage in natural casing. A steak knife would have been helpful. I don't know the brand of bacon they serve, but it was FABULOUS! Thick sliced, prepared beautifully and mmmm, mmmm GOOD! The plate includes a Cheddar Biscuit. It is BIG and delicious LOOKING! I had to bring it, half of my potatoes and the sausage "to go". My husband ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit. He was not a fan of the less than tasty sausage. #DIL ordered a Chicken Biscuit - - she shared a bite of the chicken. Let's just say, I KNOW what I will be ordering NEXT time we go. Our grandson ordered his favorite Biscuits & Gravy. HUGE portions, suitable for a growing young man. We will be back! P.S. The Gilded Pear cocktail was delicious. The Key Lime Pie was exquisite. Lovely plating and scrumptious. I shared it with my husband PLUS we brought half of it home.

On a previous visit, I ordered the spicy peanut noodle bowl with shrimp and the dynamite shrimp app. Yum!! Both were loaded with flavor. Forgot to take a pic. From 10-11:30 on weeekends, mimosas are $1.99. What a deal!! And of course I had to try all the flavors! Cran-orange is my fav. They have a great happy hour, daily specials, kids menu, vegetarian menu and some gf options. I will definitely be back to try the pancakes and Nashville chicken Sammy. The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. I really wanted to like this place. I've lived in LS since 2008 and hadn't gotten around to this…read moreplace. And I'd heard good things. So I'll start with the good: - charm. It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.
