Excellent little silver diner! We had a scheduled chocolate tasting tour but arrived WAY early! This diner was right around the corner so we parked at the chocolate place and walked over. It did appear that there's plenty of parking at the diner, though. There's indoor and outdoor seating. They do ask that everyone entering use hand sanitizer before coming through the doors, and wear a mask when moving about. They've got dividers between tables and are spacing out seating. We were seated right away in a huge, rounded corner booth. There was just the three of us so it was kind of fun. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, orders arrived quickly and were exactly what we'd asked for. And everything tasted great!! Husband had the fish and chips; delightful and large! Kid had the chicken fingers kids meal; "best chicken fingers I've ever had" I had the mahi tacos and they were amazing! So happy we just happened to pass by this adorable diner! read more

"Stand Your Ground" for better customer service ground zero? This place has lots of growth opportunity. I thought a post on a restaurant with horrible service would be in order! While parking a nice older gentlemen walked up to my car window and advised me of a spot coming open. He said maybe that there is a 15-20 minute wait for tables. My first mistake was believing what he said. The hostesses did not represent any welcoming skills. Totally unwelcoming in fact! No smile, no warm greetings. Zero craps given about the customers in that restaurant on a Saturday morning! There is no room to stand that is not in the waiters way! Move the waiting area out of the way of your servers? When they sat us down 55 minutes after arriving, I said thank you for cleaning the dirty table after seating us! They couldn't even acknowledge that - nothing. It is so obvious that this generation is most tolerant of poor customer because that's the service that they love to provide each other! The food was decent but not worth any wait or crappy service. Went to Georgie's for the first time today. Ate with a buddy at brunch time today. He had an omelet and hash-browns that he said were amazing, and I had the best french dip sandwich of my life. We stumbled on the restaurant by accident looking to try something new and struck gold. The food was amazing but the service was even better. Rachel was so sweet and friendly, in addition to making great menu suggestions. The service went beyond friendly, despite being busy (every table full) she was attentive and made sure our coffees and waters stayed fresh. I'll make this short. In St. Augustine on vacation, saw Georgie's, looked like a very cool place to stop for breakfast. The waitress was fairly unfriendly. My wife ordered a bagel (as good as any grocery store would sell). Nothing special. I am a corned beef hash junky. Theirs was about the worst I've ever been served. It was like a pile of VERY greasy over cooked Waffle House hash browns that had a smattering of some over cooked corned beef hash in it. Had to beg for a coffee fill up ($3.50/cup). I don't recall the exact price, but the bill was much more than it should have been for a 'diner'. Left small tip, left very disappointed. read more

The reviews I previously read led us to the right place. Service was fast and nice. Our waitress was happy to fulfill our "Karen" requests lol. We wanted chicken an waffles (not on the menu), she made it happen. We also ordered creme brulee cheesecake, chocolate chip french toast, and egg with homefries. Wow !! I was in town with my son for a long weekend adventure . We searched maps and found Georgie's and it was nearby and looked original . A 50's retro diner look. We thought it looked unique and tried it out . The service was excellent and the food was nice portions well made with excellent ingredients. My son had nice hearty pancakes with a side of bacon and I had the western omelet . Large portions of high quality . Full of flavor and freshly made ! It's 5 star for a Greek Diner in St. Augustine (not NYC). Georgie's was fantastic. We hopped over to St. Augustine as we had an extra day to our travel. We toured the sites, and was time to leave. We were all hungry and debating where to go. I saw Georgies on the travel map, and I don't like going to those places. But Yelp told a different tale. And as usual, Yelp had it right. Family of four plus our dog were seated right away. Sitting on the patio. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful setting. They even brought a bowl of water for my dog. Fantastic. We ordered the greek pizza, gyro, soulvaki, and a cheese burger. The greek pizza was probably the one thing not great. But don't think we did not like it. It was good, just not what my son was looking for. If you think it's for you, try it. I think you'll like it. The gyro and soulvaki? To get it better, you need to go to the big city and go to greektown. If your city didn't have a greektown, I feel for you. The gyro had big chunks of the shaved meat. The meat was great tasting. The pita done right. The tzatziki sauce? Not the best I've ever had, but a top 10 for sure. I had ordered the soulvaki and it was good! Big chunks of meat seasoned just right. So glad I ordered it. My youngest got a cheeseburger. Looked and tasted good, but it was a cheeseburger. If that's what I wanted, I would have no issues ordering it. But when gyros, soulvaki, and a few other greek items are on the menu, that's what I am ordering. Now. What really blew our mind. Something we were not expecting... the fries and the tater tots. The fries were fantastic. A great cook job on them, and a great taste. The only way for me to make them better? Make them wider like steak fries. But these fries were soooo good! My dog loved them too! But the tater tots? WHAT THE WHAT? These are not fancy tots, just regular ore-ida looking tots. But they cook them just right! Skip the fries, get the tots! Seriously!!! A really pleasant surprise!! Photos of the menu do not capture what this diner has to offer - they have so many specials! I ordered the pale ale brat special for breakfast and it was the best breakfast that I have had in a long time. Who would think you'd find great Greek food in a classic "silver" diner? I love Greek and Mediterranean food and this place does it well. I had (and recommend) the Gyro platter. It is huge. Loads of meat, plenty of veggies, and oh that sauce. It isn't a sandwich, it is a large plate of food that requires a fork and knife. The wife had the grape leaves. They were also very good, and very plentiful. There are other items on the menu, and the specials board looked great, with a burger and a couple of other enticing options listed. Service was prompt and friendly. The place is clean and has a reasonable amount of parking along the side and in the back. read more

Firstly, when you conjure up an image of a "classic diner" in your mind, Georgie's fits that to a tee. Red vinyl booths, counter service, neon lights, black and white tile floors - you name it. Secondly, the service is quick and friendly. Third, they make everything themselves. Homemade biscuits, house made corned beef hash, etc. Outrageously tasty stuff. They also have fun daily specials, like cinnamon raisin French toast (which my boyfriend got and said was unreal). Fourth, prices are super reasonable. I have eaten @ a few diners in my 74 years on this planet & most of them have hit the mark, I was looking forward to trying this one out however it does not do it for me. My wife & I came for a late lunch, service was good ( although it wasn't busy) were they fall short is they don't have a large selection as all the other ones have, & we did not find the quality to be that good. We both had the French beef dip, the quantity was adequate but the meat was lacking in taste, the fry's were certainly not hand cut & were dipped in some kind of batter which certainly didn't help. The place looks like a diner but the food is not. The reviews were positive so all I can say is if you like it good for you, for my wife & I we have been to a lot of good restaurants & this one doesn't make it! We will not be back read more

Wonderful, clean and friendly. The food here is of really good quality. Ordered a burger and onion rings. Burger bun was wonderful, lettuce was fresh and not just iceberg, and they used beefsteak tomatoes so all upper end ingredients. I don't like fried food usually but the onion rings are wonderful here. The Greek food and tzatziki is good and the only bad thing about it is that we were wanting so much more and sad when it was all gone. Highly recommend. read more

We sat on the porch in the corner being socially distant enjoying every second...until they sat a couple with a toddler beside us. A wandering toddler. Wow- so I am very critical of Greek diners, probably because I am Greek ?? I am not sure. That being said, this place is pretty sweet! I ordered two orders of bacon and 3 eggs over medium. The eggs came out as ordered and the bacon, beautifully thick cut delicious bacon came in abundance. 9 slices for 2 orders! I have come here off and on for years and the diner never disappoints. Decor- its a mock up of a 50's style diner. The restaurant has been here at least a decade but looks to be in good shape. There is nothing really like it, unless you count a diner in Ocala that is in constant disrepair by comparison. They play 50s and 60s music while you gnosh. The neon and mirrors that dress this place give it a pretty cool "destinations" feel. The diner has character in spades and is just pretty damn cool looking. The service is excellent for the price point and in addition to being a cool place to eat, it's a decent value too. Coffee 3 eggs and 9 pieces of bacon for under 10 bucks - awesome. They have some Greek food on the lunch/ dinner menu but it has been years since I have had it- not to mention there isn't much that is Greek that fits into my low carb lifestyle at the moment - but of course if you need a recommendation, the measure of awesomeness with Greek restaurants is always the moussaka.
