We thought the portions might be large so we decided to split the chicken fried steak and get a side of the corned beef hash. Both were amazing! The hash was so full of flavor I could have eaten a full plate of the but the side serving was pretty large. The breading on the steak was so good paired with the pepper gravy was spot on. Just left Georgie's diner and all I can say is..wow... the gyro is MASSIVE, all servers were running their as*es off but still had smiles on their faces, never had to wait for a refill, or napkins. 10/10 would say being there missed me being a server haha, Marcia was our server and was so friendly, helped another server run food (blonde with little poof in front, gotta be the lead server, because a b*tch was running back and forth constantly). Some other girl was singing YMCA, just the whole experience was wholesome. Food was amazing; but what made it yelp worthy was the team and positive vibes. This is my favorite breakfast place in town. I am passionate about my omelettes for breakfast and this is the best one. Also, the home fries are spot on and they have English Muffins. Perfection. Loved this little diner.... it was right down the street from our hotel so it was the "go-to " place for breakfast. It is the typical diner-style setting inside with checked floors, red vinyl booths and neon lights, lots of chrome trim, counter service, and staff that knew their regulars on a first-name basis. They have plenty of private parking, along with street-side parking available. The service was very friendly and timely considering that they were at capacity. The food was great, also the typical diner fare. I had eggs with grits, toast, and bacon with a never-ending, constant refill on the coffee. The prices were reasonable and the servings were generous. I would definitely recommend them and would visit again when I am in town. Thank you Georgies for making our stay in St Augustine a little extra special. read more

Excellent little silver diner! We had a scheduled chocolate tasting tour but arrived WAY early! This diner was right around the corner so we parked at the chocolate place and walked over. It did appear that there's plenty of parking at the diner, though. There's indoor and outdoor seating. They do ask that everyone entering use hand sanitizer before coming through the doors, and wear a mask when moving about. They've got dividers between tables and are spacing out seating. We were seated right away in a huge, rounded corner booth. There was just the three of us so it was kind of fun. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, orders arrived quickly and were exactly what we'd asked for. And everything tasted great!! Husband had the fish and chips; delightful and large! Kid had the chicken fingers kids meal; "best chicken fingers I've ever had" I had the mahi tacos and they were amazing! So happy we just happened to pass by this adorable diner! read more

"Stand Your Ground" for better customer service ground zero? This place has lots of growth opportunity. I thought a post on a restaurant with horrible service would be in order! While parking a nice older gentlemen walked up to my car window and advised me of a spot coming open. He said maybe that there is a 15-20 minute wait for tables. My first mistake was believing what he said. The hostesses did not represent any welcoming skills. Totally unwelcoming in fact! No smile, no warm greetings. Zero craps given about the customers in that restaurant on a Saturday morning! There is no room to stand that is not in the waiters way! Move the waiting area out of the way of your servers? When they sat us down 55 minutes after arriving, I said thank you for cleaning the dirty table after seating us! They couldn't even acknowledge that - nothing. It is so obvious that this generation is most tolerant of poor customer because that's the service that they love to provide each other! The food was decent but not worth any wait or crappy service. Went to Georgie's for the first time today. Ate with a buddy at brunch time today. He had an omelet and hash-browns that he said were amazing, and I had the best french dip sandwich of my life. We stumbled on the restaurant by accident looking to try something new and struck gold. The food was amazing but the service was even better. Rachel was so sweet and friendly, in addition to making great menu suggestions. The service went beyond friendly, despite being busy (every table full) she was attentive and made sure our coffees and waters stayed fresh. They're trying to serve too many things and and they're not being authentic about it I just don't like that kind of dedication, it might be good but when you put a label to something like Greek salad you don't put lettuce I know lots of them do that it's only because they want to use it as a filler as one example Greek salad is tomatoes peppers onions kalamata olives extra virgin olive oil of good quality and some of the brine from the kalamata olives mixed together and tossed and then served to you with some either broken up feta or sticks of feta is fine but the fat has to be from Greece not from United States because they try to cheat and don't use full fat in production so the taste is just not good and also the food that the lamb grazes and grease is different in here so you can achieve that taste simple example of why not to choose that item on the menu or any other restaurant that does the same thing! ‼‼ read more

I'll make this short. In St. Augustine on vacation, saw Georgie's, looked like a very cool place to stop for breakfast. The waitress was fairly unfriendly. My wife ordered a bagel (as good as any grocery store would sell). Nothing special. I am a corned beef hash junky. Theirs was about the worst I've ever been served. It was like a pile of VERY greasy over cooked Waffle House hash browns that had a smattering of some over cooked corned beef hash in it. Had to beg for a coffee fill up ($3.50/cup). I don't recall the exact price, but the bill was much more than it should have been for a 'diner'. Left small tip, left very disappointed. read more

It's 5 star for a Greek Diner in St. Augustine (not NYC). Georgie's was fantastic. We hopped over to St. Augustine as we had an extra day to our travel. We toured the sites, and was time to leave. We ordered the greek pizza, gyro, soulvaki, and a cheese burger. The greek pizza was probably the one thing not great. But don't think we did not like it. It was good, just not what my son was looking for. If you think it's for you, try it. I think you'll like it. The gyro and soulvaki? To get it better, you need to go to the big city and go to greektown. If your city didn't have a greektown, I feel for you. The gyro had big chunks of the shaved meat. The meat was great tasting. The pita done right. The tzatziki sauce? Not the best I've ever had, but a top 10 for sure. I had ordered the soulvaki and it was good! Big chunks of meat seasoned just right. So glad I ordered it. My youngest got a cheeseburger. Looked and tasted good, but it was a cheeseburger. If that's what I wanted, I would have no issues ordering it. But when gyros, soulvaki, and a few other greek items are on the menu, that's what I am ordering. Now. What really blew our mind. Something we were not expecting... the fries and the tater tots. The fries were fantastic. A great cook job on them, and a great taste. The only way for me to make them better? Make them wider like steak fries. But these fries were soooo good! My dog loved them too! But the tater tots? WHAT THE WHAT? These are not fancy tots, just regular ore-ida looking tots. But they cook them just right! Skip the fries, get the tots! Seriously!!! Wow !! I was in town with my son for a long weekend adventure . We searched maps and found Georgie's and it was nearby and looked original . A 50's retro diner look. We thought it looked unique and tried it out . The service was excellent and the food was nice portions well made with excellent ingredients. My son had nice hearty pancakes with a side of bacon and I had the western omelet . Large portions of high quality . Full of flavor and freshly made !
