First time here, when I asked how it works they responded "It's just like Chipotle." Hmmm ok. Looking past the ordering station, everything seemed to need a deep clean. The food was not as high quality as one would expect. It's a "no" for me.

Free egg roll for first time Yelp checkin here! The gentleman that helped me (appeared to be the manager maybe) was INSANELY kind, helpful, informative and a true staple to what customer service should be. I tip my hat to this guy as he made me want to come back immediately! Helped me with my order and questions as well as some tips and suggestions for my next visit. I tried some crab Rangoon's.. yummmy! A veggie roll... good (but prefer colder so I brought home to refrigerate) and a bowl with shrimp, broccoli, cucumbers, corn, avocado, cream cheese, noodles (his suggestion) and sweet chili sauce (his suggestion) and although I would have preferred them cooked a little longer (I didn't ask) it turned out magnificent! Portion amounts were bountiful. Food was fresh. For sure will be back!

First time here - found it from a Yelp search. We both ordered bowls. Crab and tuna with rice poke bowl, and a chicken hibachi bowl with noodle. Both were good and fresh. The gyoza came out hot with a tasty sauce, had a little kick. The kitty robot server was fun, so I recommend eating in and getting that experience. Will return! The restaurant was very cold so bring a coat.

I want to start by giving Fusabowl full marks for being open on New Year's Day when my friend was starving. (Figuratively. I wouldn't let her die. At least if she's reading this.) They're one of the build-your-own concepts, taking it to the interesting conclusion of being able to assemble your own poke bowl OR sushi roll. Never been to a BYO roll place before, so I decided to have some fun with it. I did the fried roll - extra reminder for frying - with tuna, avocado, carrot, cucumber. They take everything in stick form and wrap it in your choice of wrap. In my case, they then tempura bread and deep-fry it. In contrast, my friend put together a shrimp bowl that was good enough to bring back the rice at the end, so I suppose that's a good number of stars for her. For me... 3 but a strong 3. It's not the most delicate sushi fish you've ever tried. I think the strength of Fusabowl is in the gimmick of making everything the way you like. The food quality is good but not wow. Customer service is good but a little slow and took some repeating to get things straight. So I learned a few things at Fusa. When you deep fry raw fish, it cooks. (So don't do that.) Avocado melts away to nothing when it cooks, or else they give you minimal avo to start. Also, tempura around sushi is amazing and I hope they find a way to fix the first issue. If I lived in Cinci, I might come back here for an occasional fried roll, but I don't see myself as a regular.

Good service, not high grade sushi, however is a great option over traditional fast food.

The service was impeccable and they were so knowledgeable about every fish and all the prep into it. The ambiance was interesting, we had a girl begging for soy sauce and the chef just gave her salt. Was kinda funny to watch but made a little bit of tension. I think the chef handled it in a mature manner, the customer was clearly drunk or something and was not happy with their experience. Like I said this puts all other sushi in a lower classification. So much effort and thought into everything.

I went to the Thursday 5:00 p.m. seating, and I know I got lucky getting a reservation. I logged on…read morearound 7:00 that morning to book, and I was able to get one on my first try. Several people in my group said they'd tried multiple times without any luck. From what I've heard, Thursday at 5:00 is one of the easier reservations to get, because the Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. seatings disappear almost instantly. I've had sushi all over the country (although not all over the world), and this was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. The quality of the fish is incredible--they fly it in from Japan--and every course was beautifully presented. The pairings the chef came up with were amazing and really let the fish shine. The menu changes every day and every season, so you'll never have the exact same experience twice. One of my favorite surprises was the miso soup. The chef explained that the broth is made using the bones from the fish we were eating that evening, and it was honestly one of the best bowls of miso soup I've ever had. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a simple printed menu with the names of each course and maybe a few notes about the ingredients. The chef explains every course, but there are so many Japanese names and details that it's hard to remember everything by the time you leave. I would have loved something to take notes on or even just glance at while he was talking. The only other thing I noticed was that the ending felt just a little rushed. There are seatings at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00, and by the end of our meal the next group was already waiting in the entryway. It wasn't a big deal, but it was noticeable. The experience is $115 per person, and the required 20% gratuity is paid when you make the reservation. You can also order alcoholic drinks during dinner. At the end, the chef offers an optional add-on (ours was either a $30 bowl or a $12 roll). I skipped it because it featured a type of fish that usually isn't my favorite, but after seeing what the chef did with everything else, I was honestly tempted to give it a try. Maybe next time. This was one of those meals that you keep thinking about long after it's over. Everything was thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it's the best sushi I've ever had, and I'd love to come back every season to see how the menu changes.

We were aiming for dim sum a couple doors down, but they were slammed and had no out of the way place to wait. So, we walked a few yards and went into Kawa. Tablets are used to order appetizers, drinks, etc. All delivered by a robot or a train on a track above the conveyor. The sushi itself, along with other items like dessert, rolls by constantly. The best part, pricing is clear. Everything on the belt is $3.45 per plate, subject to change, of course. The sushi was fresh and the portions were in line with the prices. If you've never had conveyor belt sushi or you just want to try something a little unique to the Cincinnati area, Kawa is the place. While this location is a little out of the way for us, Hyde Park is a quick drive and we will return.
