We haven't been here in years and thought we'd give it another try. Still underwhelming sushi. The rolls, while nicely presented, were just ok. My Bangkok Terrace roll was so loosely wrapped that it didn't stay together to even pick it up off the plate. Although it tasted fresh, it was just kind of tasteless and boring. My daughter said the same of her roll. The Garden Salad my daughter had was pretty good. But the Miso Soup was kind of blah and the Gyoza wasn't a stand out either. Although, the sauce with the gyoza was thicker than most places and it clung to the dumplings nicely. Maybe the other dishes here are much better. Love this place! The Thai fried rice is my fave dish and loaded with meat and veggies (I usually get chicken). The chicken teriyaki is also great as well as the crispy pad Thai. If you're thirsty, get the Thai Iced Tea, it will not disappoint. The mango sticky rice dessert is great when mangos are in season. My buddy recommended this place, when I checked the Yelp reviews I didn't think it would be that great and so did the other Yelp reviewers that left their criticism were all spot on. Water down sugared Thai iced tea, the egg rolls were cold in the middle, the spring rolls were not made fresh. The coconut chicken soup was very delicious, the chicken satay was meh, the Penang curry was watered down and way too spicy after telling them to make it mild. Service was really good though, not sure I would ever come back as I am so picky on my Thai food. read more

This restaurant deserves a higher rating. The reviews seem quite polarizing--people either had a dissatisfying or wonderful experience. Fortunately, I left with a happy stomach; maybe the chef was having a great day or I just happened to order the right dish. I ordered Beef Pad Thai with a spring roll. The Pad Thai had a balanced flavor profile, not too sweet, sour, salty or fishy. They incorporated the perfect amount of nuts and sauce without making the dish too oily. The meat was tender, perfectly seasoned and well-cooked. Based on my previous experience with Thai restaurants in Cincinnati, I tend to stay away from ordering beef since most of the time I will receive over-cooked and under-seasoned cardboard-like bites. This dish alone is 5 stars and is the best Pad Thai I've tried in Cincinnati. The reason why I knocked off a star is because of the spring roll. It was average and nothing special. I would not order it again. As for the service, it was good. The waitress was pleasant, we were able to choose our seats outside and the food was brought to us in a timely manner. I definitely plan on visiting again and trying other items. I will update this review once I try at least a couple other items on the menu. I really have to wonder if this place is under new management or has a new chef. This wasn't our first time ordering from or eating here, and the food seems worse. The pad Thai looks and tastes nothing like what we had here before. Noodles covered in some sort of orange sauce, stuck together mess, no lime wedge, no sprouts. The Tom kha we ordered is completely different and bland, it's almost entirely just a pale coconut soup--- whereas previously it was a creamy version of the Tom yum. We ordered two green curries-- one for spicy (for an adult) and one mild/nonspicy (for a child). We received two of the same spicy curry. This place seems to have gone downhill, which especially for the high prices, is a shame. read more

Just ordered for lunch via DoorDash - so caveat that I have not seen the restaurant or experienced the service. But I have had the food. No, just no. The pad thai was essentially looks like spaghetti. The noodles are thin, stuck together, and orange for some reason. The beef is tough and seems old. It has a vaguely nasty taste to it that I can't account for. The crab rangoons were ok, pretty standard, but didn't come with any sauce. I'm throwing most of the pad thai out. Delivery was slow but I blame DoorDash for that mostly. Overall just a really bad meal. There would have to be some pretty significant changes for me to attempt this place again. read more

My only complaint was that in a takeout order for 4 people, 2 orders were missing the rice, and 2 did not have the spice level correct. Quite a disappointment, and a bit of a rip off. Consider my $6 seaweed salad - 2/3 lettuce! Spring Rolls came unrolled when eating, and were essentially tasteless. For entrees we had two types of Pad Thai, the national dish that is a center piece for every Thai restaurant in the land, chicken and mild spicy and shrimp and medium spice. Both were mediocre at best, and like the Spring Rolls, rather plain and bland. Our other two entrees were curry dishes, one tofu and mild and the other chicken and spicy, but both were, can you guess it, rather plain and bland, in fact, quite so. Stay away. read more

I come here all the time with my dad, the food here is out of this world. I would never get tired of eating this food. Everyone here is super friendly, and their service is 10/10. It's such a nice place to go to eat. It might not be that big when you see it, but it's so worth walking in there to eat. Ive never had any bad experiences with the food here. Being in a little strip center, I'm sure you'd think the worst of this place. But actually, the food is good. Unfortunately I can't say the same on the service. It's BYOB so we brought our own bottle of wine, which was lovely. The menu is huge, really a lot to choose from. However when MP asked our server what kind of sauce was the "Seafood Curry" she had no idea. When he tried to change up the question and ask it another way she just responded "saucy". Great. When MP's brother ordered the mussels to start, he asked the waitress after about 15 minutes if they were coming out and she goes "Oh, we're out of mussels." Ok, were you going to tell us so maybe we could order something else? So odd. I ordered the Tom Kha soup to start. REALLY delicious. Then for dinner I ordered the Mussaman Curry. Very flavorful. MP ended up with the seafood curry (which incidentally had mussels in it), Dad ordered the spicy beef salad and Mom ordered a bento box. So, most Thai eaters know that they rank their spiciness on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the hottest. I ordered a 2, MP ordered a 4, his bro ordered a 5 and Dad ordered a 1. MP's was the spiciest and mine was the least spicy. Hardly any spice at all. Now go back and look at our numbers. Wrong. When I asked the waitress for some Sriracha (A THAI SAUCE that originated IN Thailand and a major staple at ALL Asian restaurants), she put her hands together and brought them to her mouth in a trance of deep thought like not only had I asked her to carry my first born child but also that I asked her for the oddest thing ever. When I told her "Sriracha, a thai sauce in a big red bottle" she just stared at me. Then in a bolt of realization she goes "OH! Sriracha" (pronounced a way I've never heard, 'seer-i-aka') and came back with a teeny tiny cup of it. Fail. Anyways, other than the weird service and the Sriracha debacle. Horrible service and lack of accountability. I went there for lunch by myself around 12:40 today. When I arrived the restaurant was about half full, with many of those tables leaving in the first few minutes I was there. I sat outside and ordered the spicy bamboo then waited for THIRTY FIVE minutes. I went it and told them I had to be back at work in 15 minutes. I watched as they checked on my order, discussed amongst themselves that it had been sent to the wrong table earlier, then turned to me and said, "We got a huge carry out order right before you arrived. It's first come, first serve. We only have so many woks." Funny, that wasn't what I JUST heard them say the problem was. A woman seated by herself at the counter who had not been there when I arrived was finishing her food and said to me, "That's such a shame", knowing that I had been outside when she arrived. No apology or discount was offered. I paid $9.05 for the food and had them pack it to go. At least I didn't have to tip for the service, as no service was provided. I will NEVER return to Bangkok Terrace. Never ever ever. read more

I've visited Bangkok terrance for lunch 3 times in the past few months with a few friends or coworkers. I generally give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, as all restaurants have bad nights, but I've been left bitter by these guys 3 times in a row. The service is terrible. They don't seem to have a lunch rush, so there where not too many customers seated but it took over 20 minutes each visits to place our orders. The wait staff seemed more interested in texting on their phone or rolling silverware. If you can believe it, All three times we ate there my order was wrong. Not a little wrong like "oh, i didn't want onion" wrong like "This is the wrong dish, not even on the same page as the one I ordered". For example, the most recent visits they brought me my curry which was the wrong type, the wrong protein, and the wrong vegetables. Heres the part that chaps my butt. When i bring this up to a manager their response was "Im sorry, We brought it out to you, so you need to pay for it". No joke, my friends. As far as quality of food goes, the pad thai is noodles with spicy grease and pepper flakes. Stay away from the sushi. My spicy tuna roll was warmer (in temperature) then my hot meal was. Went there today for the first time with a co-worker for lunch. Very modest decor, but the serving staff was fantastic. The waitress allowed (perhaps the owner's) 5 year old daughter help to seat us. It was the cutest thing in the world as the little girl showed us to our seats (with the waitress' help) and handed us our menus. She was so proud of herself. The food was very good. I had high expectations given the location and outside decor. However, a quick lunch brought me down to earth about this place. The food (Pad Thai) was so so. No carrots or other veggies besides a sprinkling of bean sprouts and the pork was a little weird. Also, if you are tempted to order the spring roll to accompany your meal for $1, be aware that it comes as a fried roll. I just assumed it would be fresh, so I was disappointed. The biggest turn off was the mold smell coming from every waiter/waitress that walked by. I assume it was the aprons they were wearing. That totally killed my appetite. I have eaten here several times in the last 4 years, usually as take-out. Their customer service has gotten a lot better this past year, so I started going again -- and they are also pretty good about customizing orders to what I like. I usually request their Chicken or Tofu Fried Rice and Thai Noodle Soup with Tofu in a gingery broth. They are both very good! Their lunch and dinner portions exactly the same size, yet they charge 58-66% more (~$8 lunch for the same $12 dinner) if you place your order in after 5pm, as it's then considered to be the "dinner portion". I wish they would open earlier than 11:30am for lunch. Aim to be there as soon as it opens as it tends to get packed pretty soon thereafter. Overall, it's pretty good for take-out. read more

It's fine. There are better -- fresher, more authentic -- options nearby. Nothing bad to say about this place, just that it's mediocre.

My favorite Thai food in town, "Bangkok" is much more innovative than the standard Thai selections in the area (spring rolls, pad thai, pad see ewe, 5 different curries and sometimes sushi). They of course have all of that standard fare and do it the best, but they also have just as many unique dishes that you've never seen on the average Thai restaurant menu, at least not in Cincinnati. And if you live within 3 miles, they deliver! I order it almost weekly--if I happen go 10-12 days without, I start to get the shakes. It's a little more expensive than other Thai places in town, but that's likely due to a combination of their location, some more expensive ingredients (e.g., soft shell crab, duck), and from what I can tell, a better chef. Regardless, it's completely worth what amounts to an approximate 25% premium over most other Thai places. Favorite dishes: DRAGON SHRIMP (app), SUKIYAKI (soup), BANGKOK CRISPY DUCK, SPICY EGGPLANT, PAD KRA POW, PAD PRIK KING, and every single fried rice and noodle dish I've had there, including, but not limited to: CRABMEAT FRIED RICE, PAD KEE MAO, PAD WOON SEN, PAD THAI and PAD SEE EWE read more

I work nearby and get carry-out all of the time because the smell wafts into our building and lures me. It's never disappointed me and always takes 15 minutes or less after I call it in. I love the yellow curry and have tried to recreate it at home with many failures. It's rich and complex. I've had better sushi, but have tried little of Bangkok's so can't really compare fully. My only real complaint is that the server calls me "Sweetie" and she's about 10 years younger than me. That just rubs me the wrong way.
