A coworker and I were just a few blocks down the road when lunch time hit and we wanted something quick and easy. After a search on Yelp we landed on Thai Pavillion and I'm so glad we did. Here's why... 1) I ordered on their website and it was a very seamless process. I liked that we were even able to select how spicy we wanted our food on a number scale. 2) The pick up time was not long after we ordered, even with it being in the middle of the busy lunch hour. 3) There's parking directly out front so I was able to simply pull up, throw my flashers on, and run in. It was there waiting for me when I arrived. 4) We both ordered the same thing, the pad Thai (spice level 1) with shrimp. We also shared an order of vegetable spring rolls. It came out to about $50 and that included a $5 tip. We both really liked what we got, but I'll stick with my specific opinion. The spring rolls were crispy and definitely hit the spot as an appetizer. As for the pad Thai, it was a great portion size, the spice level was exactly what I wanted, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. It didn't have an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts, which was appreciated. The sauce was rich in flavor and the noodles were just right. We both agreed that we would order from here again. Lovely Thai place in Covington. Service: quick, good service and will accommodate your requests! Ambiance: nice and clean restaurant. Enough seat for small- medium size group. Food: I grew up eating Thai and Lao food, so I can be a bit particular about Thai cuisine--but that's just my personal taste and opinion. Didn't mean the food is bad or the restaurant is not worth trying it! Papaya salad: 3.5/5 Good portion size, with a sweeter, more tomato-based flavor. Overall, it was good, but the taste didn't feel very authentic. I like it more sour and spicy. Tom yum goong: 2.5/5 The soup was bit disappointing--very salty and tasted artificial, with a sweeter, tomato-based flavor again. I couldn't taste any lemongrass, lime leaves, or spices. However, they did give us plenty of mushrooms and shrimp, and the portion was good. Duck curry: 3.5/5 The duck was very crispy--a bit dry, but it paired well with the curry. Curry was on the sweeter side. The rice was a little too wet, but the portion was generous. Pad Thai: 3/5 Pad Thai is okay. The noodle is too sticky, can use a slightly thicker noodle Or cook it less time. Noodle quality is good tho but the flavor is sweeter and very tomato based again. Size is generous. Overall, the food was good with generous portions, and the service was great! However, the flavors didn't taste very authentic to me, based on my personal preference. read more

Had a fantastic meal here yesterday evening. Started with the potstickers and spring rolls and both were crispy and hot and had some great dipping sauces. Pad See Ew was a large portion and delicious. The price was very fair and food was some of the best Thai I've had in the area. Definitely worth checking this place out. read more

Ordered takeout which was easy and quick. I got the Chicken Pad Thai with spice level 2, which I felt was a good medium spice. The noodles were thinner than the usual flat rice noodles that most Thai places use and were a bit sticky. I definitely prefer the flat rice noodles for my Pad Thai, but the flavor here was good and I enjoyed my meal! They definitely give a generous portion which is great! A new cozy Thai restaurant that brings authentic Thai flavors to Covington. Upon my entrance, I was greeted by friendly staff with smiling faces and warm welcome. Menu is accessible via QR code and they offer a huge selection of chef specials, lunch specials and even a kids menu. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and it was packed with shrimp, scallops and squid. It was creamy and the sour/sweetness was well balanced. A nice touch was the complimentary vegetable soup that was served prior to the main course. The portion was so big that I couldn't finish my food. I never expected such good Thai in Kentucky but it was wonderful. My vegetarian boss and I went there for dinner and had a fantastic meal. We ended up having the vegetable masaman curry and pad kee mao noodles with tofu. We ordered at spice level 3 which was perfect for us. It was wonderfully spicy without being "Thai" spicy. I am so happy that Thai Pavilion is in Covington! Located in the former Chimaek space, the location's decor remains largely the same but now there's an abundance of good Thai food. We arrived early in the evening on Valentine's Day and got seats right away. There were cut flowers at every table and heart shaped balloons on the ceiling. While I am not a fan of TVs in restaurants, the TVs there were showing Hallmark movies in honor of the holiday. Our server was super attentive and made good recommendations. My husband and I started with beers (there's domestic, craft and Thai selections), and orders of crab Rangoon and spring rolls. Both were excellent -- delightfully crispy and not at all greasy -- and came accompanied by a honeyed dipping sauce. For our main courses, we ordered three dishes so we'd have leftovers for the next day: Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), Massaman Curry and Orange Chicken, all at a medium spice level. There's an array of proteins to choose from, including vegetarian options. Everything was super tasty. While the curry was modestly portioned, it was wonderfully warming and peanutty and came with two heaping servings of rice. The potatoes in the curry really absorbed the flavors and were so good. The drunken noodles were bursting with beautifully shaped carrot slices, bell peppers, onions, bamboo shoots and Thai basil. The tasty orange chicken featured lightly breaded pieces of chicken breast and even though we brought some home with us, it did not survive the night. There isn't much open at 6:30 on a Sunday night in the area. This restaurant was walkable from my hotel. I ordered food to go, the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The food was fresh and really good. The yellow chicken curry had pineapple instead of potatoes and it really worked. The spice level 2 was the perfect amount of spice. My daughter and I visited Thai Pavilion the other night and had a great visit! We were greeted so warmly when we arrived and our server was always attentive to our needs! We were the first table for dinner as my toddler has a fairly early bedtime but by the time we left every table was full and the atmosphere was lively but not overly loud. We went ordered the crab rangoon, chicken satay and pork pad see ew. The crab rangoon and chicken satay were favorites of both of ours (my daughter tried to drink the peanut sauce for the satay)! The pork pad see ew had a different flavor than what I'm used to so it caught me a bit off guard. I can't wait to go back and try their curries! We found this fairly new Thai restaurant (only been open 5 months) in Covington on a walk today and I had to write a good review because we've been looking for a new favorite Thai place for a couple of years. Our papaya salad was fresh and tasty and the stir-fry veggies were barely cooked (just the way we like them!) and yummy. Warning: They use REAL Thai chiles so chose conservatively (maybe a 0-1 and add your own spice on the side) even if you usually order medium spicy!! We like spice and ordered a 2 and I found it almost too spicy. Hubby was okay with it. The restaurant is owned by 3 women, one of whom waited on us. She was great and even offered to remake our dish if I found it too spicy. I chose to stay the course and she brought lots of water. So enjoy if you like Thai food! We'll definitely be back. Front of mine and I went to try Thai pavilion and it started out fine with our appetizers/salad but that's where it ended for me. I had the vegetable salad with peanut dressing and the dressing was one of the best I've had. I ordered pad Thai and my friend ordered Massaman curry. She enjoyed hers and I wish I could have enjoyed mine. We both remarked that it was quite oily when I tasted it. It was cloyingly sweet, the noodles were overdone and just not good. I had my friend tasted, and she agreed that it was quite oily and not good. I told our server and ordered pineapple fried rice. I was hoping for more when that came, but it was so salty and really have no taste other than salt. I sent that back as well. before I did. I had my friend try it and she said it was a salt bomb. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were the only ones there besides the staff, so I'm not sure how much in advance they cook their noodles or other foods. I would have hoped that they would have cooked to order I will not be returning nor recommending. read more

I hate giving negative reviews but i just had to say that it was probably the worst Thai food I've ever had. There's more flavor in the frozen prepackaged meals from Kroger. We ordered Pad Thai and drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp. As well as wings. The meat was cooked by its self and added later to the noodles. No seasoning on the meat, bland AF. We also ordered wings. I think they were probably air fried with no spices/seasoning and had a side of your typical dipping sauce. b-dubs has more authenticity than this place.
