This Green District location seems hellbent on vaporizing the term "fast casual" from the American lexicon. Because "fast" is an unknown word at this place. The good first, though: Whatever the flaws in its business model, Green District still turns out well-conceptualized salads that always seem fresh and tasty. The Hide & Go Greek is a very nice chicken one with a robust, terrific dressing. The Thai One On salad is (you guessed it) an Asian-influenced one with shrimp, lots of cabbage and cilantro, and a kind of generic but fresh-tasting Asian-style ginger-heavy dressing. Also very good. Fortunate thing you can order online and don't have to verbalize those unwieldy salad names to a fellow human. (But if you think those names are bad, another one wants you to hold its beer: the Tequila Mockingbird.). Anyway, the food gets this to three stars, but only barely. Alas, the service at this location is a shambles. Count on at least a 35-minute wait, even if you order right after 11am, when things presumably ought not to be backed up. And it looks like chaos back there--just not enough employees back there, most likely. Last time it took this restaurant an incomprehensible 50 minutes to get my salad out. (Who with a regular lunch "hour" downtown has time for this?) Credit to the unflappable and put-upon young fella at the end of the line; he kept doing his job steadily and kept cheerful about it. The manager is always madly rushing about and isn't nearly as cheery (but it almost certainly isn't her fault, either). It astonishing that the food can be is good as it is in this environment. There's something very wrong about this restaurant's business model when the family-run lunch spot down the street (seemingly just as many orders) can crank out your to-go salad (as good as here, for the most part) in three to five minutes and be as friendly as they can be about it. I tried Green District today and I'm excited to try more of their salads in the future. I had the forbidden fruit as there was a deal on it. I'm not usually someone who adds fruit or sweet things to my salad but it was a great combination! I added chicken and edamame to the normal salad recipe. I'm glad I added the extra chicken because there wasn't a lot even with the extra so I assume there wouldn't have been enough protein for me in a normal serving. Some colleagues took me here for lunch today. A great choice. Salads are all very fresh and the offer the option of chopping the salad which makes us so much easier to eat. I had the Ricky Bobby Q. Delicious. Fresh. Reasonably healthy. Salads are around $12-13 but I didn't finish what I had. I'll be back without question and hope we see one of these closer to Dayton, OH. Green District is the perfect spot for a quick, healthy, midweek lunch in Downtown Cincy. I'd ordered takeout a couple of times before and loved it ... so when the time came for a lunch meeting in the area, I knew this would be a great place to get together. Even though they're as busy as can be during the lunch rush ... this team really keeps the line moving. We arrived right at noon, and only waited in line for about 10 minutes (it wrapped around the store). After placing our order, we decided to sit outside, and thought for sure we'd have to head back into the busy restaurant to pick up our salads. Instead, a friendly team member brought out all three of our meals - no more 5 minutes after we ordered! This time around, I ordered the "Hide and Go Greek," with added chicken, and asked for the dressing mixed in. Everything about this salad was spot on ... from the crisp lettuce, to the flavorful vinegarette, to the tasty variety of toppings. Green District is a great healthy and quick food option when you don't feel like packing lunch for work. Just make sure if you're placing an online order that you do so early in the morning as their online system only allows so many orders per time slot and they fill up fast! Green District has salads, wraps, grain bowls, and toastys. My go-to order is the "When in Romaine" toasty which is essentially a chicken Caesar wrap that has been toasted. They also have rotating specials that are cleverly named such as the "Steak Me Home Tonight". If you're not feeling their menu options they also provide "build your own" items as well. Every time I visit the service is extremely quick and the staff is very attentive. The downtown location is also great for group orders if you're coworkers feel like ordering in for lunch. I have yet to have an order that was incorrect or not made on time which is very impressive for a small and bustling restaurant like Green District. I have been frequenting Green District every since they opened at Fountain Square. When someone ask to meet for lunch, Green District is my go-to. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. My problem is that my orders continue to be inconsistent. Very seldom do I get what I ordered and by the time that I realize it, it's too late to do anything about it. Today, was an exceptional frustrating day. I waited in line to order for approximately 15 minutes. After I placed my order, it took another 20 minutes to get my order. When I inquired about my order and explained that I had pretty much spent my entire lunch hour waiting for my order, I was told that I didn't place my order until noon. That was not the response that I expected nor did I deserve that response. I have written a review in the past and the owner, Ron, reached out personally to apologize. Which I appreciated.
