I had never heard of green district but they kept coming up when I searched for healthy options near my hotel. The staff was great! The cashier explained the many options and was just overall a friendly person. I ordered the hide & go Greek salad. I asked for my dressing on the side but I wish I had gotten it tossed because of the size of the salad. When I got back to my hotel I had to portion it out between the bowl and lid to ensure the dressing was evenly distributed. If you haven't been to green district it's a must. One of the best places I've eaten in a while. The staff is super friendly and strives to be on a first name basis. The food is fresh and made to order - my mom eats Paleo and it's hard to find somewhere she is comfortable eating but Green District works!! The eat in option is good for small parties of about 4. You can get away with more people to a table as long as the place isn't busy and you can grab a chair or 2 from a neighbor. Literally the BEST salads on the face of this earth! My favorite location is the blue Ash location. Everybody is super Duper friendly. Our first visit to Green District, but certainly not our last! Portions are VERY large. All ingredients were fresh, and they don't skimp on adding any ingredients to your order. There are several menu options to choose from, or you can build your own. We opted for one of each. Highlights included the ability to add some uncommon, but tasty ingredients to your salad/bowl/wrap. I rarely see sweet potatoes, butternut squash, or apples available in other restaurants! My wife suffers from a many food sensitivities, so finding places to dine out can be challenging. Well we came across Green District and it is fantastic. Friendly staff that makes your meal to your specifications with very fresh ingredients. Vegan dressing options were perfect for my wife. Just found this place this week from a reviewer here on Yelp. Decided to given it a try and was very happy and will be back. So your salad options are numerous. I opted for the Greek with chicken and I think it was one of the best salads I've ever had. The Greek dressing was very thick and not over done. And the portion was more than enough. She could order any combination of ingredients that she wasn't allergic to and everything was made fresh to order. This place popped up with glowing reviews and the food definitely lives up to the hype. I had the hide & go greek salad while my boyfriend had the Ricky Bobby-Q Toasty in a wrap. They were both packed full of flavors and well balanced with all of the ingredients in each. I liked that it's a chipotle style set up, but it felt more relaxed since we were able to order and were able to sit down at a table while our lunches were made and then delivered to our table. Now $12.95 for a salad, wrap, or sandwich would normally have me taken back a bit, buuuuuuut the portion size of these meals definitely reflected the price. We also were pleasantly surprised with the generosity of getting free drinks since it was our first time visiting and Billy went out of his way to make it special. My friend and I stumbled across the grand opening event for Green District via Facebook and went to check it out. It was way more crowded than I anticipated and was also a fun event! They had a food truck outside giving out a constant supply of samples of their curry chicken salad, pesto pasta salad and pimento hummus. We both got the curry chicken salad and it was delicious. We both got the Thai One On salad, but I got mine in a tomato basil wrap. It was yummy and the Old Bay shrimp was a delicious addition. They were pretty speedy for how many people were in attendance. I was working late & wanted a healthy meal, so ordered take-out from here. I tried to phone in, but the message said it would be faster if I ordered on-line. So I ordered the "make your own bowl" option online, and found it pretty user-friendly, walking you through all the options (and making sure you knew you could get a few more items for a little extra price). I drove to the restaurant, and was a little surprised when I first walked in the door. I expected it to look like a trendy cafe -- instead it had the look of a narrow school cafeteria. The floor was cement and most of the restaurant was just a long "salad bar" setup, with the item choices laid out and workers behind the "bar." I walked to the next available person, who was cheerful and upbeat, and showed her the printout of my order. She walked me back to the entrance, where it was already completed and bagged up, and sitting on a rack. (I love that it was done quickly, but wondered: since you pay online, are you meant to just grab the bag on your own and leave?) Once back to the office, I dug into my dish. It was a big plentiful cardboard (probably recyclable) bowl filled with my chosen ingredients. But seemed more like a salad than a "bowl," and nothing was warm (even the rice, which, according to the menu, was supposed to be). The shrimp were also cold and seemed small, though they were flavorful. The proportions seemed off: there was a ton of spinach (probably 3/4 of the bowl), but not that many carrots, soybeans, wild rice mixture, tortilla strips, or broccoli (which for some reason I expected to be cooked). I thought the wild rice mix would be the base (or at least half the base), but there wasn't that much present among all that spinach. The ginger dressing was excellent, with a little zing, and tasted home-made. So, overall, a good healthy meal option, with some good ingredients, some serious skimping on the pricier ingredients, and some equally healthy but just okay-tasting ones. I probably will eat there again some time, as it is a healthy option, now that I have a better idea what to expect and what not to expect out of it. But only as an occasional treat, as it seemed a little too expensive for a bowlful of spinach. read more
