Cincy roll, pork katsu don, salmon teriyaki

My family and I have dined here about 5 times in the last 3 months, and this is one of our favorite restaurants in NKY to fill our wide range of Asian food cravings. The restaurant is quaint, yet open, and totally family friendly. Servers are warm and courteous, even when they are slammed during peak dinner time (6:30-8). You get to choose from a Japanese and Thai menu, which contain a wide selection of equally delicious dishes, including fresh Sushi. You get 3 good restaurants in 1! Some dishes we've tried multiple times and recommended based on balanced flavors and consistency are: THAI: Spicy basil pork- has sweet scent of holy basil and abundant sauce. Our favorite to pour over rice. Papaya salad- full of flavor, but be conservative on your spice level selection ranging from 1-10. If you want "medium" spice, go with 2/3. Panang curry- you can choose your meat, but it's traditionally served with beef, which I think it's the best pairing as well. You can never go wrong with Thai curry, unless you order above your spice level ;) Pad see ew- stir fried wide rice noodles, also known as soy sauce noodles, comes with your choice of meat and veggies. Kids love it because noodles are soft and sauce is sweet. Crowd pleaser. JAPANESE: Katsu don- crispy chicken or pork cutlet drenched in sweet & salty sauce mixed with scrambled eggs and caramel used onions served over rice in a bowl. Total comfort Salmon teriyaki- great, nutritionally balanced meal with perfectly grilled salmon basted with teriyaki sauce over rice, and a side of shredded and steamed carrots and zucchini. Never regret ordering this. APPS: shrimp shumai and miso soup SUSHI: Cincy roll, spicy yellowtail, salmon nigiri As you can see, there are a lot of good options here. Go with a bigger group and dine family style to get the most out of your visit.

Probably the best fried rice in the city. The sushi is also excellent! We highly recommend!

Flavors are well realized at Nittha Siam Kitchen. Each dish we ordered had it's own distinct flavor. Vegetables were fresh, and maintained a bit of crispness. I really enjoyed the Pad Phik Khing, with tofu as the protien. The soft tofu worked well with the crisp green beans. Pad Khing was spicy, but not overly so. We felt like the dishes we ordered at 6, 8 & 10 levels of spice were all equally spicy. It was a spice that made lips tingle, but did not set the mouth on fire. Then again, we like spicy food. Pad Piao Wan was liked by my older kids. It was purchased for then, so I did not try any. Green Curry was rich and warm. Pad Thai was the least impressive dish. It needs something to brighten it. A squeeze of lime would have sufficed. One person liked the spicy tuna roll, another thought it okay, the other did not particularly care for it. All found it to be more sweet than spicy. Worried about the cleanliness. An employee came out of the kitchen eating. She proceeded to take her food from the kitchen to behind the sushi bar. There she continue eating it. In many areas, that is a health code violation. Portions of protein were lacking. Most of the dishes were packaged so that the protien was on the top. This means the orders were primarily vegetable dishes.

The service was impeccable and they were so knowledgeable about every fish and all the prep into it. The ambiance was interesting, we had a girl begging for soy sauce and the chef just gave her salt. Was kinda funny to watch but made a little bit of tension. I think the chef handled it in a mature manner, the customer was clearly drunk or something and was not happy with their experience. Like I said this puts all other sushi in a lower classification. So much effort and thought into everything.

Several people in my group said they'd tried multiple times without any luck. From what I've heard, Thursday at 5:00 is one of the easier reservations to get, because the Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. seatings disappear almost instantly. I've had sushi all over the country (although not all over the world), and this was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. The quality of the fish is incredible--they fly it in from Japan--and every course was beautifully presented. The pairings the chef came up with were amazing and really let the fish shine. The menu changes every day and every season, so you'll never have the exact same experience twice. One of my favorite surprises was the miso soup. The chef explained that the broth is made using the bones from the fish we were eating that evening, and it was honestly one of the best bowls of miso soup I've ever had. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a simple printed menu with the names of each course and maybe a few notes about the ingredients. The chef explains every course, but there are so many Japanese names and details that it's hard to remember everything by the time you leave. I would have loved something to take notes on or even just glance at while he was talking. The only other thing I noticed was that the ending felt just a little rushed. There are seatings at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00, and by the end of our meal the next group was already waiting in the entryway. It wasn't a big deal, but it was noticeable. The experience is $115 per person, and the required 20% gratuity is paid when you make the reservation. You can also order alcoholic drinks during dinner. At the end, the chef offers an optional add-on (ours was either a $30 bowl or a $12 roll). I skipped it because it featured a type of fish that usually isn't my favorite, but after seeing what the chef did with everything else, I was honestly tempted to give it a try. Maybe next time. This was one of those meals that you keep thinking about long after it's over. Everything was thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it's the best sushi I've ever had, and I'd love to come back every season to see how the menu changes.

Last night I ordered the crab rangoon roll (again, because I really enjoyed it the last time), a California roll, and a sweet potato roll. My fella had a hankering for sushi and found Sake Bomb on google, an easy 7ish minute walk straight up the road from the aquarium. The building was under construction and there was an overabundance of signs not only telling you where to go and where not to go, but also about ordering and pick up and other various things. I found that actually quite charming, along with the unnecessary quotation marks. But we entered and were seated right away (it was a late Monday morning, it wasn't gonna be overflowing anyway). I really liked the look and feel of the place and it made it feel very private in our seating spot. I really wanted to enjoy a small adult beverage (it was actually the start of a 2-week vacation for me and I wanted to feel a little indulgent). But the soju options I was eying all came in far too large serving sizes. BUT THEN the server informed me of the smaller sized options, it was just lost in the very busy and overwhelming menu. Perfect! And kudos to him for not pushing a more expensive, greater volume item! My guy ordered a couple rolls for us to share and I also got an order of the seaweed salad (a staple that I LOVE). The food came out quick. The salad portion was HUGE. And the rolls tasted delicious and we both left with our hunger sated. I would definitely recommend the short jaunt away from the Levee for a quieter, tasty meal, if you are in the area and looking for an Asian meal to enjoy.

For example they have many types of Salmon from around the globe. $49.99 for Sea Bass is pricey for me. I think Halibut was $39.99 a pound and the salmon was $20-$30 a pound. They also make their own sides. The clam chowder had too many potatoes. On Friday and Saturday nights they cook a few meals out back in a small tent/room. Today, though, one of the bowls we received which was supposed to have chunks of 1x tuna and 2x salmon, something we always get, had one spoonful of what looked and smelled like one part canned cat food mixed with four parts of store brand mayonnaise that had sat in the sun for two days. It was rancid and a health hazard; it had clearly gone bad. No one there seemed to care it smelled like garbage that had sat on the curb for two days and would put someone in the hospital if they tried to eat it. We walked the bowl directly to our outdoor garbage can because the smell in the house was making everyone sick. You could smell how bad it was from two stories, through a closed door. There is no way any restaurant would be ok with serving this. This wasn't just an unfortunate flavor; we could have sued them if we'd been stupid enough to eat it. So, I guess just ask if they plan on giving you literal garbage and then shrugging if you complain about possibly getting food poisoning before ordering because they do not care after you pay and have the item in your possession. I'll be contacting the Cincinnati Health Department when they open. This place is going to hurt someone who tastes the food without knowing better. We managed to order a lot of food and most of it was excellent. We were treated to a trio of Spanish peanuts, slightly spicy cucumber and pickled onions that were quite tasty. Taking a taste of each together was a great bite. It was a fun start to the meal. We stared with two appetizers: Stuffed Jalapeños and Chili Dumplings. The stuffed jalapeños were fantastic! I expected them to be spicy hot, but they were not. The stuffing was delicious and each bite was delectable. We highly recommend them. The chili dumplings were also very good, though we've had better. These were spicy, but not overly so. They were good and I'd order them again. Mark ordered one of the lunch specials that offered three rolls. They were good. He liked some better than others. I ordered Sashimi Deluxe, which came with a salad and miso soup. The soup was nice. I liked the dressing on the salad and used it more as a palate cleanser between bites of sashimi rather than relying on the ginger. The sashimi was also hit and miss. The pieces were large, with each easily being twice the size you might find at other establishments. None of them, however, melted in my mouth nor did they elicit yummy sounds. We had dessert. I had Tiramisu cake and Mark had Mango Mousse. His mousse was so good! The tiramisu cake was good, but not outstanding. Both desserts came with strawberries, that were fresh and sweet, and a little scoop of ice cream. I mentioned it was my birthday (because it was) and they gave us my tiramisu case at no charge.
