Much anticipation as we visited St. Augustine again and returned to FT, but not the best-ever experience. Our server Brad was helpful and friendly, however, the kitchen let him down. My spouse and I each ordered the grilled snapper; his was fine, mine was rubbery and raw in the middle. Brad happily took it back to be remade, which, of course, left me twiddling my thumbs while my spouse ate his dinner. The new properly-prepared fish finally arrived after he had finished his meal. When the bill came, we had to request they not charge us for my meal, which should have been automatic. Live in the neighborhood and definitely considered it a gem, but a year or so ago, they made the decision to favor merchandising over the menu. Came in on 4/3 Celebrating Great Friends. I had this restaurant bookmarked for places to try in St. Augustine, I booked my reservation through Opentable. Note: A credit card is required to secure reservations. **Cancelled reservations before 24hrs of visit will be charged $10 per guest **Late Policy 10 min grace period from booked reservation time Ambiance was quiet, calm, and romantic with the string lights, and many beautiful paintings along the walls. Noise level was medium. Due to the compactness of the restaurant. Customer Service was top notch! From entering and giving my name for the reservation, to being seated, to our oh so attentive waitress that genuinely cared. She informed us happy hour still had 30min left to it and if we wanted to order drinks they had a good selection for half the price as well as a few appetizers. She was very mindful of our water if we needed more, if there was anything more she can get us etc. Appetizers were good we ordered two orders of HH Truffle Fries only quam they were a bit too salty. We also ordered the Brushetta that was delicious. Drinks a few HH Piña Colada were ordered a beer, and I had the HH Red all great. Entrees we did 3 orders of Pesto Pasta with one having Shrimp added; let me just say I am not a pesto fan but this was delicious; sauce was creamy, the spinach inside tasted perfect was not soggy at all. Broccolini was added it was a perfect addition. Fresh catch was also ordered and another fish dish. Everyone loved their food... lastly we did dessert. Two ice cream sundae, and one butter cake. The ice cream sundae was so big it definitely could be shared amongst 3 !! The butter cake was good, but it would be so much better without the overly sweet fruit glaze and then the baked fruit berries on top. If it had the berries alone without the glaze it would have been perfect. All in all great experience, wonderful staff, delicious fresh and of quality food. We will be back again. Came here for our anniversary celebration. It appears from how busy they were that reservations are a must. We arrived early and found room at the bar foe a drink while we waited. Great atmosphere! We started with Cajun egg rolls as an appetizer. Blackened chicken, cream cheese, black beans and peppers. The roll was fried and oh so good! It has a little kick to it - loved it! I ordered the Chicken Beverly which was a chicken breast that sat atop mashed potatoes and spinach, topped with a cream sauce! I recommend it! We were seated at a table in the window area and it felt like a special treat. The food is great, but the best part about this restaurant is the large craft cocktail list. In addition to their specialty cocktail menu, they have cocktails sorted by spirit so it is easy to find all the cocktails available for the spirit you are craving. I'm drawn to gin so I tried the bees knees and a gin mojito (forgot the name), and they were both delicious! My boyfriend tried a specialty cocktail made with brandy and coconut and, while sweet, it was absolutely delicious! For food we tried the cobia and the burger. The cobia was cooked well and tasty. The burger was also delicious, but after a couple of bites it was a little too soggy for our liking. It is a small restaurant so there is not a ton of opportunity for social distancing, but at least the servers wore masks. Overall, I'd be back to try more of the cocktail menu. read more

We loved the seasonal cocktails and the fun glasswear even if they are extremely expensive for the pours. We were pretty unimpressed with the food though. The chicken thigh sandwich was completely fried to death and inedible. Like it felt like it was put in dehydrator level dry! The server did apologize and told us they recently changed the sandwich and he thought it wasn't a change for the better too. He did take that sandwich off our bill. We had the redfish sandwich as well which had a nice portion of perfectly cooked fish on it but the sauce seriously lacked pizzazz. The crab (or maybe shrimp ) bisque was delicious but had to be sent back and reheated as it was nearly cold when it arrived and it was cold outside too. We enjoyed sitting outside with our pup and watching the world go by. It would have been nice for them to offer a water bowl for the pup or have a pup friendly option on the menu to order if they are trying to be pet friendly. We would have happily ordered her some sliced chicken or beef or even a piece of bacon while we ate. They have a creative menu that would be easy to accommodate some pup options too. We didn't have a reservation and they were busy on a Friday night in February but they seated us at the bar right away, and it was great. The bar tender was quite busy with drinks but he served us well. We had drinks and some custom shots we devised and a fantastic meal. Between us we had the pasta primavera, the chef's cut, and the FT burger. We also had the outstanding warm bread as an appetizer. Every item was delicious! The single downside was the extremely loud atmosphere for the first 30 minutes. The place began to clear out a little after then and it was more tolerable. The restaurant still had Christmas decor up (as did all of St. Augustine) and it was a beautifully cool night. This place is worth checking out .. but make a reservation. The place was cutely decorated in Christmas decorations, and all the drinks on the menu were Christmas themed. I ordered the Christmas Cricket, it reminded me of an Andes chocolate. It was really good. My boyfriend got their Spiced Chai Tea and it was so flavorful. They both came in cute Christmas glasses. The prices were a bit steep for our liking. OK, I'm amazed at the amount of people that either don't know where Aviles Street is, or didn't know "those" were actually restaurants "down there". Yes, there is more venturing out around town than just St. George Street and that general area. The food is amazing! Your toughest decision is going to be trying to decide what to order. They offer a small menu, but wow...the choices are wonderful. My son and I share so we can try different things. But no worries...they have "to go" boxes! Whether you want small bites (snacks), a light meal or looking for something heavier...there is something for all appetites. The sweet tea is delicious and they have some interesting cocktails. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is relaxing and "chill". As with everything in the historic district of St. Augustine, parking is available in the paid lots, the streets, the garage, etc. However, the closest parking lot is at the Trinity Parish (daily rate) on the corner of St. George & Artillery Lane and then it's just a short walk. If you are staying in St. Augustine, then it is just a few hundred feet from Plaza de la Constitución and catty-corner across from the Spanish Military Hospital Museum. For appetizer, we tried the fried tomatoes. We've had fried pickles before, but never fried tomatoes. They essentially have the same sensation- crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Fried tomatoes are just more on the sweet side whereas pickles are on the sour. We enjoyed them! For our entrée, we ordered the shrimp and grits etouffee (yup, a combo of two dishes) and really enjoyed this dish. The shrimps were seasoned and blackened so well. My friend had scallops, asparagus and subbed the grits for succotash, which she was very pleased with. They looked creamy and delicious and she was humming and dancing with every bite! I had the curried butternut squash soup and the sautéed kale side as well rustic vegetable flatbread - soooo fresh and delicious!! All of it was tasty and well seasoned. Our server, Andy, was super friendly and wore a mask (as well as the rest of the staff), so we felt safe to dine here. They took our temperature as we came in also and gave out masks if you wanted one. Was not mandatory, but nice that the option was available. The food here was heavenly. I am not a huge pork chop fan but pork chop sounded so good on the menu (plus the server highly recommended it). I was thoroughly impressed. It was cooked beautifully and very moist. The roasted potatoes had so much flavor, I honestly wished I ordered a side of potatoes to go (and I'm not a huge potato fan either). The plate was aesthetically pleasing & the flavors melded wonderfully. The service was good, however, it was hard to maneuver a stroller. There is outside seating to accommodate a stroller but it is very limited despite reservations. For me that's not a deal breaker though. What caused me to give it 4 starts instead of 5 is the drinks. I am always on the lookout for great unique crafted cocktails and unfortunately the cocktails lacked depth. It sounded great on the menu looked delicious but it did not stand out. It was a little sweet which surprised me given that passion fruit is typically very sour (yum for me though. I can eat 1/2 a dozen passion fruits in one sitting & be happy as a clam lol). I would definitely go back though as the food was top notch. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but the drinks made it hard to truly justify 5 star rating.
