Famiily night and everyone wanted to go out. After debating between sushi, ramen, or curry - we settled on Taiwanese noodles/beef. We have been here several times before and this time we brought the whole gang. Although it was a Friday night, we came earlier than normal and were able to be seated immediately. All the tables were taken, but it wasn't too loud or crazy. Our service was great. I chose their Classic Beef Noodles which were great! The beef broth was flavorful. The beef slice was tender. The noodles were cooked well. Honestly, it was great. The portions could be a little better. So, from a cost-to-value perspective, that could be better. All in all, it was great.
We came here for dinner on a Friday night, and it was exactly the kind of comforting meal we were craving--especially on a cold, rainy evening! We started with the grandpa rolling beef as our appetizer then ordered the wonton noodle soup and Taiwanese pork rice bowl. The beef roll pancake was crispy and flavorful, and I loved the fresh vegetables inside, which added a nice contrast to the crunchy exterior. The wonton soup was delicious, with tasty wontons and a rich, comforting broth. The pork bowl was moist, flavorful and filling. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we visited, so the service was quick and attentive. Everyone was friendly, and our food came out promptly. We really enjoyed our dinner here! The meal was satisfying and filling without feeling too heavy, making it the perfect comfort food for a rainy night.
I haven't eaten a lot of food like they have at Fooki. Every single item we ordered was cooked to perfection, and definitely shareable. We went for the li hing sweet potato fries, dumplings, boom boom chicken and the pork belly bowl, as well as the beef roll to share. This was the perfect amount for four people to share. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and didn't feel rushed after finishing our meal. We will definitely be visiting again for the noodles!
It was KISMET we ended up here! This was hands down one of the best Taiwanese restaurants I have ever been to! My family was in the area to shop over at Crafts Way and I found Fooki on Yelp as a nearby food option. It had something for everyone in our group of seven: 2 vegetarians, 1 vegan and 4 meat eaters. The restaurant had a divy vibe, cozy and welcoming. The service was very friendly and the server was incredibly knowledgable about their menu and how what made some of their dishes stand out from what's expected. The Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries are a must! They totally reminded me of my childhood and the kind of fries I'd get at the amusement park back in Taiwan. Here's everything we ordered. Every single item was a hit! -stewed egg -stewed tofu -Majiang noodles -Lu Rou Fan -Grandpa Rolling Beef -Scallion Pancake -Fooki Bao -Tofu Bao -Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries -Veggie Scallion Noodles -Fooki Bowl -BoomBoom Chicken If we ever find ourselves back in Aiea again, we will be stopping in!
I've always wanted to try this place because I love Taiwanese food. But maybe because I had such high expectations, I was pretty disappointed with everything. First, the price was pretty high compared to the amount of food they served and the flavor of their menu. The pork rice bowl had way too much rice compared to the pork, and I think I only had half of the rice to eat with the pork on top. All the foods we ordered wasn't very flavorful either and they charged 3% for credit cards. The economy is tough right now so that may explain the card charge and the portion size but I don't think I'll be going to this place again. It was good to try but wasn't impressionable!
He said it and they listened. Back in 2020, Elite Yelper Rod U. shared his valuable opinion on the food and pricing at this establishment. As any good manager would, they took his review and made improvements. For shareable starters, we ordered three appetizers. Their Boom Boom Chicken is excellent! Generous portion, great crunch on the outside, tender and tasty on the inside, and seasoned with that signature Taiwanese flavor. We finished every delicious morsel. Then we shared the Mala Wonton. If you like heat, this has a chili kick to it. Generous portion of dumplings topped with a spicy chili sauce, green onions, and sesame seeds. I normally don't eat spicy but glad to try this one. The most favorite dish at the table, enjoyed by everyone, was their fried fish filet. Again, another generous portion of something shareable. But after you tasted this fish, you might not want to share. Order this up for yourself! A few days after our delicious dining experience, our dinner guest said, "I feel like ordering a bunch of that fried fish from Fooki. That taste was incredible!" He also had the ox rib soup which had meaty portions of tender beef ribs. The broth was excellent and they served this with a side of rice and grated ginger dipping sauce. I had the mushroom noodle soup. When I requested this, our server made sure to tell me that it was beef broth in case I was a strict vegan. Oh this was a nice warm bowl of yummy comfort. Generous tender noodles with a nice balance of mushrooms and baby bok choy. Glad I tried it! Last but not least, we had the Trio Cup Chicken. This was full of flavor and easily feeds two people. Tender chicken bites seasoned in sweet soy glaze, garlic, and basil. Will totally come back to have more. Thank you everyone at Fooki. We enjoyed our meal and wonderful customer service. You will see us again, as we really enjoyed the tasty food, especially your fried fish filet!
Always love coming to this place for a quick and simple meal. Their soups are delicious and quite filling for the price. Service is quick and inside is nice. There is plenty of parking surrounding the area in the Pearl Kai shopping plaza. Usually order their classic beef noodle soup and can't go wrong with it.
Food is AMAZING. This has got to be the best Taiwanese spot on island. First off, the decor of the place is beautiful and I love how you can spot all the different lanterns, tea leaves and dragon art designs right when you walk in. It isn't just a food experience, but it feels like you are being transported to another world. The food is extremely delicious and well seasoned and flavored. Staff is also nice as well. And there are plenty of seating. One complaint I would have is the portions are a little bit small, but not too bad. I was pleasantly surprised that their pork chops were not too dry, it had the perfect crunch to flavor moist ratio!
Our daughter is a picky eater and loves Asian food. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. They opened at 11am. We came here for lunch. Decor is a bit outdated. The staff all spoke English and Mandarin. We ordered 3 items shrimp, pork and chives dumplings - plump and you can tell they are very much homemade. Came with a housemade dipping sauce. I thought this was just okay. Popcorn chicken - Comes with a lot and well done. Our daughter loved it and ate half of the chicken. Stir fried veggies - This was very good although also a bit homey. Something my parents would make at home. Service was fine. They did give my toddler utensils/bowl/plate. Surcharge for credit card so we paid in cash. I did feel this place was a bit costly. $16 for the veggies and $22 for the dumplings.
I picked up the Minced Pork Noodles for lunch during the week. The texture of the noodles were great for getting this as take out, but the overall dish was a little bland for my liking. The portion was great and the right amount for me for lunch. I liked the Mala Wonton Noodles from the last time I went, but it was too spicy so I just got a side of Mala sauce to add to my dish. This restaurant is located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center so there is a lot of available parking. Overall Fooki is a great spot for lunch or dinner and will definitely go back.
I knew this was on my list for a reason and I'm glad I finally got to go here! THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! I went here with three adults and a baby. We got the Boom Boom Chicken, rolling something (refer to picture), Monster Pork Chop, Mala Wonton Noodles, Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries (these were so good, I don't know how they cooked it but the crunchiness and texture were amazing), two desserts and I remember getting a scallion pancake (just didn't take a pic). We were all full and we had left over food as well. Atmosphere - Chill vibes, good lighting (helped with the pictures), at least 5 tables. We went on a rainy day and in the middle of the week so it wasn't too busy which was nice so we didn't have to wait. Service - Friendly! I don't know if it was the manager or whoever but the guy that was helping us was so nice. He answered the questions we had, said hi to the baby and was kind. Cost - To be honest, I don't recall the overall cost but the range of each dish was $14 - $25 depending on whether it's an appetizer or main dish. Parking - It's in a plaza with other businesses so there's plenty of park right in front of the restaurant and around it. Location - Aiea, in a plaza off of Kamehameha highway. I would definitely come here to eat again! I want to try their other dishes and get some of the same things again :).
Fooki our favorite Taiwanese restaurant . We brought some out of town guests to have lunch. They loved it . Service was great. We ordered the MaLa Wontons and the Grand Pa Beef Rolls for appetizers. They were delicious. For entrees we tried the Classic Wonton bowl, the Classic Beef bowl, the Monster Pork Chops, the 3 Cup Chicken, and Fooki Pork Belly bowl. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. But the Pork Chops were exceptional. Crispy outside but tender and moist inside. The rice that accompanied it was equally tasty and delicious. Nicely decorated dining room. Highly recommend
Decided to try this little spot. My husband's words "I think I found my new favorite spot" the inside is decorated with lanterns and other cute decor. The staff are really friendly and give recommendations when asked. Everything we tried was delicious and we will definitely be going back.
Eaten here many times and each time is better than the last. We especially liked the steamed dumplings, the grandpa rolling beef roll, sweet potato fries, and the braised classic pho. I noticed this time that you can order more broth, which would be great to take home. read more

We came in for a lunch club. Reservation made ahead of time made coming in a breeze. Not a ton of tables inside, so I would recommend making one. With a group of 10 we were told that they don't split checks. Not a big deal, but something to note. Our server was amazing! Gave us a run down of the menu, told us his favorites and was so kind and helpful. It took a while to get our food and it came out in bits a pieces. We had a few missing dishes and had to let them know. Frustrating at times, but not enough to make us not come back. While everything I ordered was good, one thing stood out and I will come back just for that. The fried chicken curry bao buns. They were so good! A little pricey at $21 for three buns, but so worth it! I also got the grandpa roll, good, but don't think I would get it again. And a Thai milk tea, which was perfection. Just had one of the BEST bowls of noodles I've had in a long time. I'm so happy I found this place. Stopped in for lunch the other day in between classes, and was pleasantly greeted upon entering and advised to sit anywhere I wanted. I ordered the classic beef noodle soup for $20, with the braised option for $2 more. Braised apparently is a more flavorful broth, and wow, it was delicious. So much flavor. But the meat, oh my goodness. The meat was absolutely tender and very, very flavorful. And they give you a lot! The noodles were nice and thick as well. I ordered a glass of beer to go along with it and it just made everything hit the spot even more. Everyone was so friendly there, the service was awesome, it's decorated nicely with decent amounts of seating, braddah even opened the door for me as I left. I will definitely be back as there is quite a variety on their menu, but honestly, I just want another one of those bowls. So good. And lots of parking too. Great location. read more

When I saw a post on social media about Fooki having a new, revised menu, and the introduction of a new dish, called LU ROU FAN, I made a note to come back! The previous visit was such a disaster and really went far, far away from Taiwanese flavors and preparation. This time around, the food was spot on. The correct flavors were there and the preparation was much better. Also had the opportunity to have met the new owners who were super friendly, courteous, and pleasant to talk to. The inside definitely looks better and feels more comfortable with the addition of the hanging lanterns and Chinese red paper on the wall. Yes, had to get the Lu Rou Fan. This was spot on, and the best one I've had in Hawaii. The portion was very generous. It was really a nice balance of flavors with the soy, spices, and especially the rock sugar. Other places either use regular sugar, brown sugar, not enough, or none at all. Rock sugar is an important component, and gives it a depth of flavor. I can eat this everyday! The COW WOW Braised Beef Noodle soup was excellent. My first experience, the meat on the rib was SUPER tough, and had to take home to boil for an hour. Luckily, this time, the meat on the rib was literally fall off the bone tender, and flavorful. The tendon were larger pieces and quite tender as well. The same for the beef shank. All generous portions. The noodles had the right amount of chewiness. The broth was hearty and delicious. The spices and 20+ ingredients really came through as I could taste the star anise, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, and etc. The Boom Boom Chicken was very good. Previously, the chicken was in huge pieces and dry/bland. This time the chicken was in smaller pieces. Tender and flavorful, and fried very well to a nice crisp. Never felt heavy or greasy. What made the dish stand out was the fried basil. Adding the herbaceous note gave it a nice balance. The accompanying sweet chili aioli was good. The Double Delight Potstickers were good. I liked the triangular wrapping style which gave it more surface area for the pan fried crispy goodness. The filling was tasty and spot on. The Fooki Bao is awesome! Two thick cut pieces of tender and flavorful pork belly. The sweet, sharp, and sourness of the pickled mustard cabbage was such a nice contrast. The bun was good--soft and moist. Seems handmade. Vintage Tofu Pudding was good. Smooth, silky tofu with perfectly sweet syrup and soft peanuts and boba. The Mala Wonton Noodles is a mixed dish, and the wonton falls apart when you mix it around, so be gentle. It's overall good. The wonton filling was meaty and delicious. The noodle had a nice chew, and the sauce had a nice kick. I liked the addition of black vinegar to give it a savory and sour note. The fresh cucumber and cabbage added a nice crunch. You can add XO Sauce. This is house made, and gave this a nice richness. The Grandpa Rolling Beef was quite hefty and good, and neatly prepared. The tender beef shank, cucumber, and cabbage filling are all cold items, which made the scallion pancake become cold if you let it sit too long. So perhaps eating this as soon as possible is best. The Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries... wow! Where you have been all this time? The back and forth between sweet and savory was great. The sweetness of the sweet potato with the salt plus the sweet and savory chili aioli, and the li hing mui powder is a combo of those tastes and brings everything together. The fries were perfectly crisp outside and the potato was tender. A must have! The Mua-Ji Mua-Ji is good. Tried both sesame and peanut. It's mochi balls with peanut or sesame filling rolled in a mix of kinako powder, crushed peanut and sesame, and etc. Very well prepared! Their Iced Vietnamese Coffee is delicious! Nice strong Cafe Du Monde made nice, sweet, and creamy with condensed milk. I need this every morning! The Taiwan Root Beer was good. I like it! More herb-y, less sweet. The Taiwan Song Beer was light, crisp, and refreshing. Overall, I enjoyed my meals here. The inside is comfortable and the staff and owners are very friendly, informative, welcoming, and pleasant. All the food is very well prepared and a lot better than before. The difference is very noticeable. You can tell a lot of effort was made in every dish. I was really pleasantly surprised by Fooki after being told by all my Taiwanese friends that Hawai'i doesn't really have good Taiwanese food. Nonetheless Fooki kept popping up as being the best potential option, and I'm really glad I tried it! The food tasted like home, just fancied up a little. There are some SE Asian inspired fusion options on the menu too, but I stuck to ordering Taiwanese fares. We got several things to share: Mala oil poached chicken (super juicy and tender with an addicting Mala chili sauce), wonton noodle soup (well done and nice thin skin & flavorful filling, and delicious savory broth), the beef wrap (such a classic, meaty and filling street food in Taipei), a classic braised bowl that reminded me of plate lunches, and a lilikoi slushie with properly chewy boba. I'd absolutely come back again whenever I'm craving a taste of home and try more things, and I'm already looking forward to trying their sweet tofu pudding dessert. Finally got to try this spot for the first time after having it on my bookmarked list for so long, and this definitely won't be our last time here. We spontaneously decided to come here for lunch since we were in the area. Upon entering the restaurant, it felt like we were transported to First Fridays in Chinatown with the hip and rustic decor. We were greeted by the friendly worker and seated right away. We ordered the Grandpa Rolling Beef, Jajang Noodles, and Boom Boom Chicken. Our order came out quickly. Everything was so delicious and flavorful! Can't wait to come back and try their soup dishes when the weather gets cooler. read more

What a find and so close to the airport. First visit was lunch at the bar and enjoyed the Cow Wow beef noodle soup with the added beef ribs. Also delicious was the MaLa cold chicken which was heavy on chicken but unfortunately light on Ma and La. Second visit I just loved the Grandpa Rolling Beef which is a great one person lunch or shareable appetizer. Fooki has a really interesting selection of beers that must be tried! A beer highlight is that many selections are low alcohol which is refreshing but hard to find. read more

Liked that they have the extra charge for credit card and large parties on the menu cova. I liked the bold flavors, but noticed people in our group who were raised on milder Asian flavors weren't as excited. I ordered the boom boom chicken plate and found it to have quite a bit more flavors, which I thought was 5-spice, than other spots. Also ordered a milk tea and liked the option of having it 50% sugar. read more
Whenever I get to be back on island I have to stop at a soup/noodle shop at least once before I go. Normally that would mean a Vietnamese place or a ramen place, but this place was a welcome surprise. For starters the dumplings and grandfather beef roll if that's what they are called were absolutely delicious. And the beef soup was tasty and filling. Definitely a quiet place which is nice for small meals with friends or family, and service is as expected in a place like that meaning food was quick but a little wait to order is all. Modern Taiwanese fusion in Aiea! When my husband and I used to live in the area, we'd order takeout from here a few times, especially during the pandemic. Yet my husband strongly believes that Fooki is too "clean," too "fusion," and more pricey than he's used to for Taiwanese food (he's an ABC--American Born Chinese who grew up in LA's 626). Our friend who's half Taiwanese also thought Fooki wasn't too authentic. That's not saying Fooki isn't good, and this review is about my opinion and not others'. I can't help but be influenced by folks who grew up eating Chinese food, while my knowledge of Taiwanese cuisine prior to Fooki was boba, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and Lam's Kitchen's beef noodle soup! Still, hubby and I enjoy Fooki's version of Taiwanese chicken or called Boom Boom Chicken, Grandpa Rolling Beef, and the Trio Cup Chicken. I love that the seasoning of the Boom Boom Chicken tastes just like the pork chop from Egghead Cafe, Fooki's sister restaurant. I'm guessing Fooki and Egghead Cafe's pork chop are identical. I'm reviewing the latest version of their menu and I didn't realize Fooki expanded their menu from their originally small menu which included my and hubby's three favorite dishes! Fooki eventually added iced teas, milk teas with boba, and other Taiwanese drinks to their menu. Overall, Fooki is a nice place to go out on a lunch or dinner date with friends or a special someone in Aiea. Maybe, hubby and I will return to try their expanded menu if we feel like splurging on date night? read more
Holy Fooki, this place is legit! I had no expectations, not being very hungry, and but man, I was so surprised how GOOD this Taiwanese place was. We waited about 5 minutes or so and got seated near the entrance. I ordered a bit of their most popular dishes. Grandpa' Rolls 4/5- Surprisingly tasty without being too saucy, which I thought based on the pictures. The texture of the green onion pancake was soft and tender and wrapped nicely around the beef. Classic Beef Noodle Soup 4.5/5- The noodles were like the width of fettuccine perfectly tender. The soup was pure and not oily or too salty. The baby bok choy was super fresh and crispy. Beef was tender. Hubs preferred a bit more heat. Overall, delicious Garlic Veggies 4.5/5- Fresh medley of vegetables, tofu slivers, enoki mushrooms, diced tomatoes. Boom Boom Chicken (plate) 4.5/5- DD's favorite as she loves Taiwanese street food popcorn chicken with the spices tossed. Batter was crunchy and not too overly salty. Tofu Pudding 5/5 (I'll crave this!) SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST. The soft tofu Pudding, peanuts, and homemade Boba (soft mochi texture) and melded together perfectly that J practically licked the bowl. Strawberry Milk with Boba 4.5/5 Winter Melon Lemonade with Boba 4/5 Both drinks not overly sweet and did I mentioned how much I enjoyed the chewy Boba that I suspect they make in house. Never have I ever had scratch Boba in a drink or dessert in any teahouse. I'd drive 30 minutes again and just come back for this. Overall, the fam had a delicious meal. We had no leftovers and felt so satisfied like we went over my parents house for a home cooked meal. Conveniently located across from Pearlridge. We will definitely be back to try other items we simply couldn't eat at the time like their pork belly rice, jiajang noodles (my fav), and their cow wow noodle soup. This isn't our first time at Fooki and it won't be our last! Every visit leaves us completely satisfied. It's truly a small victory when you can get teenagers to embrace new and different ethnic foods, and Fooki has been a reliable winner for our family. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the staff is consistently attentive and efficient. It's a casual, "get down to business" kind of place - you're seated, you order, and the delicious food arrives quickly, hot and fresh. Our absolute must-haves are the fried chicken (always perfectly crispy and flavorful!) and the sweet potato fries. As a serious fry-loving family, we can attest to these being a fantastic standout, the li hing mui powder adds a unique and tantalizing twist. Beyond those, we love to explore the varied menu, ordering family-style to get a wide variety of dishes that everyone will enjoy. Fooki is a simple, wonderful and guaranteed crowd-pleaser! read more

Fooki has some of the best Taiwanese inspired dishes I've ever tried. I've been here several times and they never disappoint! The employees are very kind and service is fast! The interior of restaurant is very aesthetic by the way. You're definitely going to he taking food pics. The one item I always get no matter what are the LiHingMui Sweet Potato Fries!! I love the pop of flavor the lihing powder gives! And don't get me started on the house-made sweet chili aioli it comes with! It's addictive!!! Their Classic Beef Noodle Soup and Boom Boom Chicken are also favorites of mine! Parking is super easy to find and it's plentiful. Definitely try this place out! read more
I've heard some good things about this place and decided to give it a try. It's located in Pearl Kai center which has a lot of parking and many other shops/restaurants around. They have a pretty decent menu with shareables, rice, and noodle dishes. They also have an extensive drink menu offering milk tea, fruit tea, coffee, smoothies, and cocktails. I had their mushroom noodle soup and it was pretty good. The broth definitely lived up to its name because it actually had a strong mushroom taste. I really liked their noodles, it was chewy and had a nice bounce to them. I also took a bite of the monster pork chop rice dish and that was really good too. The pork chops were seasoned well. Service was also good and quick. They also have a takeout window right outside the restaurant so you don't have to go all the way inside which is convenient. read more

The Boomboom chicken was ok, but nothing special. The garlic chicken at Tanioka's, the Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl or Side Street Inn are all far tastier. The Fooki Belly Bowl's taste was ok, but the pork belly was tough. I felt like it was made several days ago and they simply reheated it and over cooked it, when I ordered it. I had just eaten freshly made fried pork belly at Siam Garden a few days before and it was so much better. Utage also has a much better pork belly that's very soft. My friend and I thought the food was OK, but he was not planning to come back. I thought I would give them another try, with different dishes. However, I was talking to someone from Taiwan and she said she's been there several times, but she doesn't go anymore. After my coworkers nagged and hyped up this place for weeks I finally budged and took the trip to go from town to here. *keep reading for heartbreaking story at end (I'm being over dramatic).* Personally, nothing stood out too much about this place. It is a pretty good 'elevated' taiwanese restaurant. The portioning sizes are good and fair for the price point. The ambiance was cool, felt a bit moody and bathroom felt a bit creepy for some reason. It was cool at the same time though. To the main point, the food; it was pretty good. Nothing personally blew my mind but I was happy with my meal. I got the cowwow braised noodle soup. It was delicious, however, I wanted to enjoy most of it later as I wasn't super hungry. I packed most of my meal right off the bat and portioned it so I was only going to eat ~20% of the dish. You may notice that there are no images of the noodle soup... this is because after we finished the meal we left, AND I LEFT MY TAKEOUT THERE. I noticed after just a little less than 5 minutes and called right away. However they told me that they have already thrown it away despite having our numbers (for the reservation) as well. I was absolutely heart broken. I just hate wasting food and the thought of perfectly untouched and good food thrown away hurts my soul (This is why I have deleted the image LOL). Ever since I've had laksa I'm always craving it. And it's so nice to have found a place in Honolulu that offers a consistent bowl every time. I've been about 3 times and the pork chop laksa has always hit! The pork chop is seasoned well with five spice, and the laksa has chewy noodles that soak up the broth, the broth being smooth, rich from the coconut, and savory from the curry, while the bok choy has the balance and color for the dish. read more
Parking can get tight during busy hours like lunch and dinner, but we didn't have a problem finding a close spot. When you walk up, you tell them at the window next to the front door how many are in your party or if you're there for pick up. The dining room was nearly full at lunch on a Wednesday with a diverse demographic. The servers work in tandem to take care of the whole dining room. The food was fast and presented very well! The food here is good but just a tad over priced but what isn't these days. Got the Cow Cow noodle and yes it was great. Also got the pork chops and spicy wontons. Loved it all. I will be back but now I have to save some money cause now I can't afford gas. Haha, just kidding! This place is a great addition to Aiea's many different culinary experiences. Fooki so nice, I ate here twice! The first time I ordered the pork belly rice bowl; generous portions, and extremely tasty. The second time I ordered the chef special fried pork coconut milk stew. It was so good, the only thing was that it was a lot of food and I took it home. I tried to eat it the next day and it just didn't taste the same. Anyway, that dish is best finished in house if you can. My dad tried the beef shank noodle soup and then the wonton noodle soup. Everything was so delicious, I don't have any complaints. Service was fine and we were always granted a table the two times we came. It does seem to get quite busy. I love the spot, I will always come here when I come home now! read more

If you have not visited Fooki, you are probably missing out on one of the best hidden gems in the area. The first time we came to Fooki was over a year ago and this is my husbands go-to when we want to go out with friends and the first place he'll suggest when I don't know what I want for dinner. Fooki is located in the shopping center below Pearlridge mall, it's so unassuming but that just adds to the "hole-in-the-wall" effect; I love a small business that almost seems like a secret. I would suggest getting here early if you want dinner here or making a reservation because I've seen it go from two tables to packed in 20 minutes. Throughout multiple visits I've been able to try Holy Pork Nachos, Double Delight Potstickers, Mala Wonton, and their Fooki Bao appetizers. If you're not too hungry or if any of those sound good to you I would eat them as my whole meal, I know kinda weird, but that's how much I liked just the appetizers! If I was to suggest a main, get the Cow Wow Noodle Soup. That is my husbands favorite and my family's favorite to get too. For me, I'm not much of a beef person so I've tried it but I'm not someone who can appreciate it. What I can let you know is that I've tried the Wonton Noodle Soup and Monster Pork Chop and for those dishes, Fooki consistently delivered. Seriously, this is a local restaurant and a hidden gem for a reason, the food is their best kept secret. So what are you doing reading this? Get to Fooki, and try for yourself! Great staff, they took care of us (party of 5) they even gave my 4 year old daughter a stand to use my phone to watch tv (I was using the cup to keep it up and it kept falling) I thought that was sooo sweet. They have a variety of noodles/soups/fried items. Everything they reccomended we tried family style and it was all really good. We came at 600pm and left at closing because we were having such a good time drinking beer and talking story. Great ambiance. 10/10 would come back!! read more

Located in Aiea, Fooki is near the Jiffy Lube and a parking lot with a good amount of spots for customers. The restaurant itself is clean with many detailed accents with plants, different colored chairs, etc. It feels stylish and homey. The service is swift and kind. Our food came pretty quickly. We ordered the fooki bao, iced Vietnamese coffee, and boom boom chicken. Everything was super tasty! There were a lot of tangy and savory flavors in the bao and chicken. The coffee was sweet and strong. We hope to come back and get some more of the same food, and try something new! read more

We came with the fam for Father's Day and so glad to say the family left happy and full! the restaurant is a nice size, not too tiny and not huge. It looked clean and matched their concept. Nice and colorful design. The service was good, no issues there. The food was delicious! Everything tasted to the level I was expecting or even better! Prices are fair for the portion size. Huge bonus, it's quick! I love a quick but not rushed meal. I had the cow wow braised (spicy vs original) noodle soup and the rib meat was so soft and tender and had that yummy fat and connective tissue (I think that's what it is?) that makes for nice chew to some parts. The broth was perfect, not too salty, not too overly seasoned or spiced, and not oily and heavy even though the broth is rich and super flavorful. I love the chew and texture of the noodle, super nice mouthfeel. The boom boom chicken was crispy and yummy with the sriracha mayo-ish dipping sauce. The grandpa rolling beef was exactly what I hoped it would be- soft, crispy, meat & veg & carb, umami bomb. Appetizers are great sharing sizes without being too much. The honey toast was alright, not to the level of other places but perfectly enjoyable. We tried the milk tea with boba and that was great. Not too sweet, boba was nice and chewy but not hard or overly sweet and oversaturated with syrup like some places. Made a reservation for 8 at opening on the weekend. Came on a suggestion from my family who has been here multiple times since finding it during COVID. Confirmed that it's now a family favorite. We ordered a bunch of food. For appetizers: Fooki baos, spicy beef tripe and the grandpa roll. For entrees: seafood laksa, braised cow wow, and boom boom chicken plates. Everything was on point, highlights were the spicy tripe and braised cow wows. Got a house made black sesame ice cream for checking in. All worth it. Will definitely be back again! read more

The food at Fooki is amazing! Everything is flavorful, each with its own distinct punch of different spices. We had the boom boom chicken, grandpa rolling beef, and tofu bau-bao to split between my friend, her one-year-old, and myself. The reason for four stars is that the organization of this restaurant could use some work. When I arrived there was a sign at the front with a QR code to scan to be on the waitlist. I put us on, and we waited on the benches outside. Meanwhile another party came and happened to speak to a staff member through the pickup order window and said they were walkins, and got seated immediately. Naturally my friend and I were confused, so we walked into the restaurant and were immediately offered a table. It also took awhile for our order to be taken even though there were a lot of staff around. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it looked like some people were shadowing and in training, but still took off 1 star since the pacing of everything initially was a bit off. The overall vibe is chill and once we got our food we were very happy! I would go back again the next time I'm visiting but maybe do takeout! read more

We were there today (5/10/22) a little before 5 PM - door was chain locked from the outside, but the restaurant's neon sign said OPEN. Peeked inside and no one. No servers, no customers. Are you guys still in business?
That's odd- they are closed on Mondays but should be open 430p.

You can call them but as far as we know, it is not like Thai or Vietnamese where they commonly use peanuts.…
