Refreshing beverage in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i... I was at my credit union at the Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center when I saw the sign for Sharetea. It was straight ahead as I was leaving the free shared parking lot. I had to stop my car, park, and go inside. Haha! Currently, there are three Sharetea shops on the Island of O'ahu: 1. Kahala Mall, Honolulu 2. Ala Moana Center, Honolulu 3. Waimalu Plaza, Aiea Sharetea spans across four continents (and 13 countries) as it has over 400 stores! I ordered one of the Top Ten beverages: Mango & Passionfruit tea, half sweet. It was still a bit sweet for me, but it got better after the ice melted! The nice gal at the counter was very efficient as she had to take orders, answer customer questions, and make drinks! Whew! She was observant because she commented on my cute plushies... LOL! Matcha Mango with milk was so creamy and with the perfect sweetness of 30% & oolong tea with lychee jelly was so refreshing that it hit the spot for an afternoon cool down and treat. Conveniently located in the Waimalu shopping plaza (on the side that has the Starbucks, pancakes and waffles, sidorak iii, runners HI, and the little police office where they do their paperwork I believe (make sure not to park in the designated stalls for the police officers only)). Inside is always clean and has a calm ambiance. There's little counter areas for you to sit or stand along the walls and enjoy your drinks or just a temporary area where you can poke the straw into your bubble tea so you can enjoy your drink before leaving. Customer service: The staff is friendly and welcoming. They greet you when you walk in and are able to answer questions about their menu. My favorite thing about share tea is the fact that they use non dairy options for their drinks! For those who are lactose intolerant, that fact alone plus the taste and variety of drinks is a huge plus and a win! Located in Waimalu Plaza is Sharetea is slightly tucked in the corner though it's brightly large sign shines bright in the slightly darken late afternoon almost gave me whiplash as I drove pass them wanting to shop at Safeway which is in the same shopping complex. One thing that I do like about Sharetea is the large selection of fruit tea which is totally my vibe and the ever changing and seasonal items they have are quite the teaser looking at all the posters of various drinks that makes my indecisiveness go haywire. The single staff there did it all so nice and friendly and asked all the usual questions which is always appreciated as I decided on Peach Green Tea with Aiyu Jelly and though I asked for 30% sweetness which is the lowest before zero it was still a bit too sweet for me personally which tells me some items may be syrups versus fresh fruits and actually couldn't finished the whole cup but regardless it did hit the sweet spot...literally. Arrived to an empty store. We could hear employees doing dishes in the back so we took the time to review the menu. Once we were ready to order, I called out "hello" twice before anyone peeked around the wall. When they did, they gave us an odd look? Orders placed and when my daughter asked to add a topping to her drink, that odd look was given to us again. There are 7-8 seats available while you wait for your drink. Since it was rainy there was no one else in the shop so I didn't have to wait long to have my order taken or even having my order made which was great since it started raining harder a little before I got my drink. Very disappointing, comically so actually. I went to sharetea and got oolong milk tea and it tasted like 95% milk, 5% tea. Maybe i just prefer my oolong milk tea with much more oolong than milk. The store had just opened, I was on the clock (for work), and there was only one woman behind the counter (and a line was forming) so i just took it and did not ask for a replacement. The woman behind the counter was nice and pleasant. Im sure this is an anomaly, but until i go back I cant say i would recommend this location. I have been wanting to try Share Tea since it opened up right up the road from my family home. It was a hot and sunny afternoon, even in January, so I wanted to get something cold and refreshing. Upon first looking at the menu, I already thought that the prices were a but higher than many boba places I've been too. My mom wanted the cocoa creama, which she enjoyed. The strawberry mojito drink looked perfect for a cold and refreshing drink, exactly what I was looking for. They only serve those in one size though, and it's smaller than the normal sized boba cup, and not super far off in price either. I asked if I could add boba to that drink, but they aren't able to add toppings to the mojito drinks, apparently? Anyway, I may go back to try something else, but I know of many other spots with better selections and prices. read more

5-17-22 I think I've found my favorite milk tea beverage as of today. I like the convenience of this location with enough shared parking. The interior always looks clean and bright. As I was approaching the entrance door my eyes were attracted to the brightly colored poster of their top ten drinks. Our fur bebe's groomer called just as I was parking to say pup was ready. I asked her would you like a green tea milk tea or a fruity one? She said green tea. I chose the one that had the most toppings on the top based on the poster. Since I said to-go, the male employee ladled the ingredients into the bottom of the cups. Meanwhile his female co-worker prepared the liquid part. Both workers shook the drink in a covered metal container like in the old movie Cocktail with Tom Cruise as the bartender. Next they poured the shaken contents over the mixture of toppings in the cups. I never figured out why they are called toppings cuz they are usually in the bottom of the drink. I chose no ice, no sugar for both drinks. It was amazingly cold and as I punctured the cup cover with the straw and took the first taste- yum!!! So many different kinds of ingredients were on the bottom- my mouth was having a happy dance chewing the different textures- ALL good! I asked may I have a cup holder and was told it's 26 cents. Okay, he broke change with the $10 bill since I charged the order. It held both drinks steady til I reached the groomer's shop and gave her a cup. If you haven't tried Sharetea before, the price is reasonable and each time I've come the drinks have been good. Just a note: the drink was very filling so much so that I could eat only half of my beef stew plate about half an hour later. read more

I thought Boba was just snotballs and hot water until my sons dragged me here, and this place permanently changed my perception of snotballs (as well as hot water). This is my go-to boba spot after eating Korean barbecue next door. I just love how convenient it is that when you're done eating with friends or family you walk over for some boba, a refreshing iced tea or a blended dessert. When I walked in, there was a line which I found evident to this place being a popular spot. I ordered and noticed that on the machine was a note that said "collect 15 receipts for a full drink" which i thought was nice. As I ordered, I couldn't help to notice one of the employees slamming containers, throwing his head, and rolling his eyes while he made the drinks. I guess he doesn't quite like his job!! Yelp says they open at 10:30 am. I have an order of 15 drinks so I'm there right on time. The worker inside sees me standing in the rain for 10 min and doesn't bother to unlock the door and let me in. I figured he was gonna be a few minutes late because of a late setup. After 10 minutes I called and he said they are opening up late at 11 am because they didn't have boba ready. I told him it would be common sense to tell the guy waiting in the rain after their opening time the situation instead of just ignoring him. I ordered the QQ FAMILY milk tea- 50% less sugar/light ice/no lychee. My other half ordered the Taro Ice blended with pudding. For the pudding we were expecting more of a custardy flavor, the Taro flavor is on point and the milk tea itself was good. The bobas do come off quite hard and clumpy not too much flavor. This shop has recently opened up in the Waimalu Plaza. I've seen the shop being worked on until they finally opened up, and it's at a great location too. My fiancé was craving some bubble tea, so we decided to try this place out for ourselves. It's a small shop, no seating are, so you just order and go. They did have an interesting menu, not only do they have milk teas they have fresh milk, fruit teas, and mojitos. It was hard to choose and I wanted something different. I ended up ordering the Mango Green Milk Tea for myself, a Classic Milk Tea (black tea base) for my parents, and my fiancé got the Matcha Smoothie with Ice Cream (it was one of their specials). My fiancé loves Matcha flavor drinks, when she tasted this drink it became her new favorite. It wasn't to sweet for her and the ice cream went really well. The classic milk tea did not disappoint for my parents. I got it at a 50% sweet level. The sweetness was just right for them and the boba, was sweet and soft. The Mango Green Milk Tea was an interesting drink for me. My parent's preferred my drink over the classic milk tea. There were bits of mango in my drink, but it was a really interesting taste. Interesting enough that the milk and mango actually went really well together. If you love mango, this drink would really be worth a shot. Overall, great drinks. The staff can be a little more friendlier, didn't really have a great interaction with the person taking our order. read more

The Battle of the Boba continues. Share Tea has become one of my main squeezes this year. I checked out this place on a whim, not certain whether people were lining up for breakfast next door or getting their boba fix. I quickly found my favorite and have been taking a tour of the menu ever since. Here are a few of my favorites that are different from options at other local boba shops. Hokkaidō - toffee flavored milk tea is a one-way trip to sugar overload, but wow does it work. Okinawa - this flavor is so delicious, you will grow more leg hair by the end of the week. Mango green tea - summer all year round. Sometimes the syrup runs low and this one's off the menu. But it's my go to. Mango mojito - a tasty option if you're on an all mango, no boba diet. Parking is abundantly available in a shared lot with other shops, but be careful. Lots of excited drivers who are rushing home from the hardware store with their new garden hose and patio furniture. read more

Finally, finally they opened!!!! This is my neighborhood so when I and my husband saw first time they were under the construction and store sign was already on the wall. We were excited another boba place would open our neighborhood! But long time they were under the construction (but didn't look like going well) We completely forgot about this place but when we went to grocery shopping (this is Waimalu Plaza and there is Safeway) we found they opened!! We decided to stop by and try this new boba lace. This place is cozy but simple and nice inside. They have only screen menu that is upper behind the counter. They have only one size (wish they have M&L size), and you can choose ice level, sweetness level, and topping(additional charge). I ordered Classic Pearl Milk Tea and my husband's choice was Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea. When I ordered mine, the old lady asked me "would you like to add boba?" that made me confusing because my order "Pearl Milk Tea" has already "pearl=boba", so I asked her "I think my order already had boba, doesn't it?" She said "we have "Milk Tea" and "Pearl Milk Tea"." Ii told her I ordered "Pearl Milk Tea", so no need extra boba." Those conversation made me completely forget to choose "tea" for my Pearl Milk Tea". According to the menu you can choose from black, green, or oolong tea, so I was thinking to pick oolong tea but wasn't asked about tea. When we got our order I checked the sticker on my cup, it was black tea.... I know they just opened and lots of the opening place's operation is not smooth, so hope they improve their operation. There were three staff inside the counter young gal and guy were good smile and nice service. Anyway, my Classic Pearl Milk Tea(less ice, 0% sweetness) taste good, and my husband's Hokkaido Milk Tea(30% sweetness) also good. Not too many milk tea places offer azuki beans for topping so I was happy to get them. You can adjust sweet level & ice level. Decided to try here since our favorite is closed today & it's a new spot. Buuuuut, it was a disappointment for me. So this is exactly how I ordered my drinks. One Okinawa milk tea, 80% sugar, less ice. I asked if it came with boba and salesperson said "they all do" I said ok and can I add red bean. My second drink I'll try a Hokkaido milk tea 80% sugar, less ice, but I don't want boba instead I'll do herb jelly & cheese foam. Got home and my wife, who wanted the Okinawan milk tea, noticed there were no boba in it. Looked at the tag on drink and it said "sub red bean". I only said no boba for my 2nd drink. Salesperson didn't ask me, if I didn't want boba for my 1st drink. My mistake for not overlooking the tag before I left, but I never had to do that at MANY other boba places I've been to. If you can't take orders specifically to the customers wants, or don't understand, then you shouldn't be the one taking the orders. These boba places comes with choices, so not all customers will order it just off the basic menu posted. YES! I'm mad because for one it wasn't crowded, In fact I was the only one in shop, sooooo I don't know how simple I could have ordered it and they still got it wrong. As for the drinks, Okinawan was not bad, nutty roasty tasting, hence the 2 star, & the Hokkaido was too sweet for me and 80% sweet is the lowest. Our preference is a creamier texture, and this place wasn't up to par for our taste. Again this our opinion. But the order mix up is REALLY upsetting. Luckily, I ordered Starbucks just in case we didn't like it here, And that calmed me down. Was gonna call to complain, but then again that's what this platform is for. Came here today because we got a BOGO free deal. After ordering, we showed one of the employees the deal and she said that it's only for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday. Nowhere on the deal did it state WHEN it's redeemable and WHAT is included in the deal. It only stated that the deal expires on 08/08/21 and redeemable at Sharetea Waimalu Only. And the deal is only for 2 specific drinks not the whole menu (I forgot what drinks the lady had said). We ended up buying the drinks anyway, because tough times. I got the mango ice blended with ice cream and added boba (it comes with ice cream, not the boba). The mango tasted fresh, it was topped with half a scoop of ice cream, and the boba was tasteless... Bf got milk tea ice blended with pearl (the drink already comes with boba). The tea was good, but once again, the boba was tasteless. The texture is good, but tasteless. Spent almost $16 here, but next time I'll just go across the street to Tea Time Taiwan. read more

Saturday night at 7:30- no line! I was pretty happy that a sharetea opened up in Waimalu because I used to go to the one in Kahala and I loveeee their wintermelon tea! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for their pearl milk tea. The tea itself is alright, super creamy and not very tea-like. Depends on your milk tea preference of course. The problem was with the boba: super hard and super not tasty! From a former bobarista, this boba was either undercooked or sat in the syrup for too long (expired). Overall, this milk tea was most definitely not worth $6.28. Their fresh teas have never disappointed me- I'll probably only be drinking those from now on. read more
