4/1/25 buko pandan milk tea boba with shot of espresso
    Mary E.

Space is clean, bright and aesthetically pleasing. There's several seating area and outlets along the wall. Workers are friendly and efficient. We enjoyed all our drinks. We got the Buko Pandan milk tea with shot of espresso, cantaloupe melon milk tea, and leche flan milk tea. Flavors were great and boba texture was perfectly chewy. Highly recommend.

I've seen this business at almost every food truck event I've been to but just never tried it. I finally got the chance when they were at the most recent food truck event for HGEA which is near my job downtown. I did visit them towards the ending of the event so unfortunately by the time I placed my order they had run out of boba. I ordered a small original milk tea with leche flan which is not something I would normally order but decided to give it chance since I wanted a topping. I don't know if it was the leche flan or the actual milk tea but this was probably one of the best drinks I've had in a while. It was not overly sweet and was the perfect cold treat on a warm day. I'll definitely be returning the next time I see them.

Ordered their Halo Halo from a pop up event in Mililani where they was at. Pretty good and aesthetically pleasing. Curious about their other drinks; Halo halo was good and they put red beans inside and boba which I thought was different and unique.

I've seen the Sama Sama truck at many events I've been too, and have always wanted to try them out! I'm so glad I finally did, at the summer event at Calvery Chapel Aiea. I love that you can pretty much customize your entire drink! I ordered a 24oz Buko Pandan Milk Tea with Boba & Halo halo inside. Not only did it treat amazing, but it was sooo refreshing in such a hot day! There was a small line when I went to order, but the person working the window was super friendly and helpful, there were a few people asking questions. Regardless of the line, service was fast and I got my drink quickly, and made really good. I'll definitely stop by again the next time I see the truck out, for sure!

Rented self-service station for my mother's bday party. I picked two flavors- ube & calamansi. Both were delicious. The set up was cute too! They were friendly, on time, communicated very well, and was patient with setting up/breaking down. They even allowed us to take whatever remaining was leftover. It was a huge hit, lots of positive feedback! I'll most likely hire them again for future events! Thank you Sama Sama!

I tried their Milk Tea at the Kaka'ako Night Market and it was really great! They were super nice and the cheese cap was a great touch - I'm hoping to try them next time I find them at an event on O'ahu - Miguel Morales Photography

The taste is inconsistent from the first time I had it. They said there's supposed to be jackfruit in there, but there was no fruit whatsoever

If anyone is trying to find it, it's in the Leeward Community College Learning Commons building *picture down below That place is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend for boba lovers to try it out! They have Filipino drink flavors! It's something you can't find in other places. I have been trying all of them and it's so good because they put fresh fruit inside. The boba texture is very good! They also sell some very delicious sweets like cheesecake and ube flavors, scones, spam musubi's. They sell such cute reusable bamboo glass cups with a bamboo boba straw that are I believe $20 and get a 10% discount on your drink when you bring it back! They have absolutely cute designs that are made by Filipino artists too! They are absolutely so friendly and helpful especially when choosing the flavors. Also they have super cute tables and chairs to sit and do your work. I love getting my studies done there.

We recently had an event with the Filipino Jaycees of Honolulu at Sama Sama, and it was the perfect space! Super cute and a lot of tables, chairs, and benches, plus delicious drinks. I tried the pandan tea with boba and it was very refreshing! All their syrups are made by hand - no powders or mass produced mixes. Very impressive! Their store is located inside the Learning Center at Leeward Community College, or follow their socials to find out where their truck will be popping up next!

Sama Sama Tea was one of the vendors who came out to my neighborhood to serve our community tonight and while I was picking up dinner at my family's food truck, my roommate picked up a few Ube Boba Brownies for us to try after dinner. It was the first time I've ever heard of this place and first time to hear about Ube Boba Brownies! It was amazing! I enjoyed it so much I reached out to them on Instagram to place an order for a co-worker's birthday next week! I am impressed and I plan to try other items on their menu!! I highly recommend you follow them on Instagram to know what their schedule looks like if you're craving some Filipino desserts! Dessert tonight was my highlight for today! Thank you, Sama Sama!! Hope to see you again SOON, in our neighborhood!!

    Ube Latte

So much love for Sama Sama! Whenever I go to LCC I usually make a stop at Sama Sama for their Ube Latte. The coffee tastes really good and the ube flavor is also on point. The people there are always really nice and pretty fast. Cute cafe spot inside the library and you can also drink your drink inside the library study area.

I heard so many good things about this place so I was excited to try it. They were at the recent What the Truck Event in Waikele. I didn't know what to order so I asked about their most popular drinks. The cashier pointed out that the items with the stars beside it are their most popular, and so I decided upon the ube. I got the 24oz Ube with Extra Boba. I was disappointed by the drink because it tasted like watery milk with boba. The ube flavor did not come through at all, it tasted very watered down, and it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. But I'll probably try their calamansi tea next time if I ever get a chance to go to their Pearl City location.

Firstly, my love for boba came from a veeery young age. I grew up in the Philippines where every morning (like at the crack of dawn) a man would come down our streets yelling "taaahhhoooOOOOOO!" to let everyone know that fresh soy and boba (the small tapioca kine) dessert cups were ready to be devoured by yours truly. So in 2021, when I saw a boba stall called "Sama Sama Tea" run by Filipinos and selling drinks like calamansi and leche flan boba, you best bet I was EXCITED. The very first drink I had was their UBE BOBA and it was super sarap (delicious)! Just recently I introduced my parents to their boba and they were just as smitten as I was to see that they had flavors from our motherland! We tried their LECHE FLAN and CALAMANSI in TAHO style. It might sound weird to you to have it that way, but it was soooo yummy! Since their pop-up tent days, they've built up quite the following and now they've got a whole boba-mobile! What I appreciate most about Sama Sama Tea (aside from their delicious drinks) is their sense of kapwa and pagmamahal--meaning their customer service is amazing! If they've made your drink and it's not to your liking you can just let them know and they'll fix it for you! In conclusion: The staff are kind, they really make sure that you are completely satisfied, and their drinks are tamang timpla (made correctly)! Also, please know I am definitely NOT getting paid to write this review; I just really love this boba company and what they stand for.

I chose the simple Shinramyun ya not the brightest choice on this humid day but didn't want something too heavy as it just need a bit of fuel to get me going and this spot was definitely on my list. Love that they put the spice level beside each item for a heads up the staff here is nice and as they were more flooded with orders than I realized as they do take phone orders it did take a bit for my order. Since I was dining right there among the bench it didn't need to be separated and loved that it was served on a tray along with a side of kimchee yum the ramyun had a soft cooked egg and some carrots a nice and simple snack which gave me much needed boost though as it was basically no different than a bowl of instant noodle this was crazy overpriced and glad that I didn't get the soft tofu which was $13.50 which I didn't need that type of spice in my life. Thank you!

Be prepared to wait around 45-60 minutes as it is just her and 1 kitchen crew. The wait was well worth it for the most delicious Nigerian food I've had on the island. Jollof Rice came with Oxtail & Jerk Chicken so we could try both and they were seasoned immaculately. The Jollof rice has some heat that builds as you eat it and the oxtail was a hefty piece. The jerk chicken had a nice spice & sear to it, it provided a nice balance to the fatty oxtail. There is also pieces of plantain that come with this plate. Fufu is neutral flavored pounded yam (comparable texture to a stickier mashed potato) - It pairs well with the smokey, earthy & spicy flavors of the Egusi Soup. The soup is very hearty and more akin to a stew with how much protein & veggies are in the bowl. My total came out to $51.00 for these three items.

Very nice lady but is also unorganized and has no efficient system as a business owner. Wait times are longer because of this. She takes my cash but doesn't always give back my change right away, then will forget the amount of cash I've handed her. She often asks to be reminded of what you ordered, and when you think you're done ordering, she asks you to come back to the window to ask additional questions about your order. Instead of waiting until the entire order is complete, she brings out the plates at different times and has asked another customer to bring back the first half of their order and show her to make sure she doesn't give them extra food. She would benefit from using a simple receipt book so she doesn't have to rely just on memory and she can give the customers a numbered ticket to call when their order is ready. She only takes CASH or VENMO which is fine. But I have seen her take the order and make the food before the customer pays, and then get into conflict when the customer does not have any form of payment. Confirming payment first will save a lot of troubles. She's no longer in a fixed location, and now takes her truck to various spots around the island, mostly on base or Waipio. I recommend following her instagram but she unfortunately doesn't post her location until the day of. She doesn't post her schedule in advance, making it very hard to track her down. I used to come often when she was at the old Sear's parking lot. So it's been months until I finally had a day off and was relieved to find she was in Waipio -- just to find that her efficiency hasn't improved since the last time I came. I love that she's getting more business but I cannot keep coming back if this is the service every time. She definitely could use more helping hands.
