After seeing the hours on Yelp I thought that I'd have a missed opportunity for some late night tea and was surprised to see them still open see a post on their door of the extended hours to open until 9pm was thrilled and immediately entered. This Pearl Kai Shopping Center location is very easily accessible with lots of free parking by the shopping center and with a cool vibe with some seating provided by the store as well makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy your sip. Always a fruit tea lover it was the "Honey Green Tea" for me tonight as I wanted something light and refreshing to cleanse my palate and was asked but didn't want any toppings it was a nice and simple drink that I enjoyed throughout the night. Instead of waiting outside in the heat and sunshine, I urged my companions to go inside Coffee or Tea? because there was air-conditioning and seats available. The lone employee had to take orders and make drinks. She was very efficient and did as best as she could to keep up. When we were called back to the restaurant next door, she offered to make our drinks later - after we were done with dinner. My daughter and I were in the mood for some boba, since this was the closest boba shop, we decided to stop by. When first walking in, it looks a bit bland, nothing special. I do have to say that it is very very clean. No dust on the menu, or the ceiling. It shows the place is taken care of. There was only 1 worker and I felt a bit sorry for her due to the evening rush on a Friday. I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind waiting. We ordered a strawberry smoothie w/ boba and an iced lemon black tea with boba. The flavor was great. The texture of the boba was delicious, wasn't too hard or too soft. It's a possible study spot for those looking for a place that opens past 7 pm. Service and Ambiance. It is a casual place with 4-5 small tables that seat 1-3, so it may not fit larger groups. I did spot 1-2 wall outlets. The decoration is pretty simple but gets the job done. There is stable foot traffic, but most are grab-and-go, so I've never had an issue getting a sit-down table for quick work. There was only one worker the last 2 times I've visited, so service can be slow if there are a lot of workers. Price $$: Moderately priced drinks comparable to other coffee/boba shops (~$5-$8 ). There is, however, a minimum purchase of $10 to pay with the card, so either make a group order or have cash. They also have some snacks displayed for sale, but they seem to be a bit overpriced (you can probably get it cheaper at an Asian supermarket/Chinatown) Drinks/Food: Drinks are on the sweeter side, and many drinks can't be adjusted to below 50%, so I've stayed away from most of their pre-sweetened drinks (i.e., winter melon milk tea, honeydew milk tea, etc ). They don't have as many options as other boba places for those with dietary restrictions. Only limited drinks aren't premade to accommodate no-sugar or non-lactose milk options. Boba here is also presweetened in honey/sugar, so no drink can truly be 0% sugar. One of my favorite places for a classic Assam Milk Tea with boba. The tea is nice and smooth, subtly sweet and just perfect for my milk tea taste buds. There are some places that have milk teas tasting a little chocolatey IMO, but this place does it right. Their bobas are always soft and chewy and they have a stamp card :)! I took a sip and confirmed it. There was a lot of milk or cream flavor more than avocado. Even though they used fresh avocado, there wasn't enough. The fact that my son and I were given so called cheesecake bobas when in reality it was warm, not blended because they do not have a blender, they just use a shaker. We like this boba place. I still love their Watermelon Juice with boba when in season and the Honey Lemon Green Tea is a fav too. It's conveniently located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center. Nice workers. Today we tried the Grande Oreo Shake and Grande Ube Shake. The Oreo Shake was a new fav! Sort of reminds me of my Mocha Java Frappuccino from Starbucks. Visited Nov 18 around 10:45am. Was greeted by a nice lady, and she had our drinks out within a few minutes. Hats off to her, especially when she appeared to be running the shop alone at the time! The drinks were very good, and I loved the ube float! I liked that the mocha frappe had a stronger coffee flavor and not just sugar like how other frappes from other places taste. She loaded my float UP with soft and tasty boba. The store gave off a very comfortable feel with several tables to sit at if you're not in a rush to go anywhere. Went in here last month with one guy working and it was a weird experience. We asked questions about the menu since it's pretty extensive. We wanted a somewhat healthy drink. He seemed irritated with additional questions. We felt like we needed to get something since we walked in. The door doesn't close fully so when one of our friends left to go to the car, the worker stopped making the drinks and walked to the door. I was surprised he did this in the middle and the worker looked so pissed to close the door. It was so awkward seeing his face when it was a minor deal. Totally ruined the experience. There are a few tables for 2 to sit at and enjoy your drinks but I think they could do more to make this location more inviting. Secondly, location: super conveniently located at the Pearl Kai Shopping Center a couple doors from Tadashi. This place can be difficult to find parking at so avoid going during lunch/dinner hours. I usually come for a late night snack! Now onto the most important stuff: food & drinks! I love that this place offers something for everyone! They have fruit smoothies, shakes, milk teas, shaved ice, thick toast with toppings, cheesecakes, and much more! Here are the things I've tried and LOVE! Classic Milk Tea: seriously, my go to every time. They don't offer sweetness levels but trust me, it's perfect! They premake it and put it in a pitcher but super quick service. The boba is ALWAYS perfectly chewy. The best part is, boba is included in the price! Hooray for no $0.50 extra charge! It is $0.25 to add pudding, coconut jelly, azuki, or green beans. But, boba, tea jelly, coffee jelly, or herb jelly are no extra charge. (This goes for ANY milk tea drink!) Shaved Ice: you can always pick one of their preset shaved iced but I love making my own. It's pick up to FIVE toppings for $6!! It may seem like a lot for shaved ice but, it easily feeds 2 ppl and you get 5 toppings! That would definitely rack up a pretty high bill at regular shaved ice places. The combinations are endless! Toppings include azuki, pudding, jellies, fresh fruit, condensed milk, and boba, just to name a few. You can even add a giant scoop of ice cream for $1 more. Tiger Sugar Milk: this drink is super popular in Taiwan and this place is one of the only places that serve it the original way. First off, tiger sugar is essentially boba cooked in brown sugar syrup. The boba with the syrup are put in the cup with the syrup covering the walls of the cup. The cup is then filled with milk (no tea). The syrup walls against the white milk makes it look like tiger stripes. Hence, the tiger milk name! You then mix it all up so the milk and brown sugar mix with the milk. I personally have not tried this but I have tried their Tiger Sugar Milk Tea which includes adding the tea. I loved it! Wasn't toooo sweet as the worker said they add a little bit of extra black tea since the classic milk tea would make it tooo sweet. Overall, love love coming here! Reasonable prices, quick & friendly service, and a variety of drinks/desserts to pick from! They're also open late so, it's a great way to end a night out. Bring CASH! I think the first time I ever came to Coffee or Tea was sometime last year and I remember having one of the best Thai Tea Bobas like ever! (Major Thai Tea Addict Here lol) I came back again tonight to try to get a late night boba fix, but unfortunately they were all out of boba, so plain Thai tea had to do, and just as I remembered the flavor was yummy and the sweetness was just right. I know a lot of other boba places allow you to choose the percentage of sweetness but this isn't one of those places but I can't complain because it's always to my liking. Also their tea and coffee selection is big, lots to choose from. I also tried their Shaved ice, I chose to customize my own and I believe your able to choose up to 6 different toppings for only $7 which is a good deal. My shave ice had mango, taro, lychee jelly, condensed milk and green tea ice cream! If was so good and cured my sweet tooth. I love how soft the shave ice is. I had let the worker know that we would dine in to eat our dessert but she must have not heard me because they packed it in a to go container, which is okay not that big of a deal.
