A very happy experience after a mediocre lunch. I was convinced I needed a scoop of Dave's Ice Cream since it was right next door to our lunch place. I'm glad I went in because it reinforced my faith in this new generation of young workers. Entering this shop we were warmly greeted by two young workers even though they were both helping other customers. The shop was sparkling clean, fresh and not a smug of anything on the floor. As we got our selections and sat at a small table for two we then were the only two customers in the shop. The young man slipped outside with a bottle of window cleaner and the young lady grabbed a cloth and quickly wiped down the counter that was vacated by a family that had just left. Impressed that there was no use of personal phones and these two associates were doing whatever they could to keep the place clean. Young as they were they were truly professional. Kudos! So how was the Ice Cream.....fantastic and I will be back.

I've been going to Dave's ice cream since I was a child and my favorite ice cream, pink cotton candy, is still my absolutely favorite! I wish there were a bit more chocolate chips nowadays, but it's still delicious!

My favorite ice cream place on the island of Oahu, located in the heart of Pearl City. They get so many good local island-flavors. It gives a family-home feel type vibe when you are at this place. Best place to take your family out for dessert after dinner or ice-cold treat after the beach or on a hot day for some cool down time. They also have soda floats, sundaes, sherbet flavors and shave ice. Love the oldies got going on in the background that sets that good-home-like vibe. I would take Dave's ice cream over Baskin-Robbins or Coldstones any day.

We love our neighborhood ice cream shop shop. We get our favorite Hawaiian Mud Pie (coffee, brownie flavor) ice cream from Dave's and it hits the spot all the time. We have been coming to this location for sometime now and appreciate that we see familiar faces behind the counter. They always have enough people to deal with the surge of customers and the place is well kept. It's a small shop with enough seats for 18 people. It's a cute place. The parking is shared with the Korean BBQ place next door. But if it gets full, customers can park in the adjoining parking lot near the Pizza Hut.

We love Dave's in Aiea. We love that it's in our neighborhood and that it's busy. Hubby and I enjoy their Hawaiian Mud Pie. They offer a bunch of flavors that make it feel like you're having a taste of Hawaii and the various influences of the place - ube, mango, green tea. It's a small shop in Aiea with some seating. We don't mind when the place is full of people. We just eat our ice cream on the drive back home. It's a clean, bright little place.

after a beach day, da mini requested ice cream. stopped by daves. we got a good variety of da most ono flavors. sampled 2 and chose the blueberry one. Shop is clean and bright, staff friendly. da mini wanted strawberry cheesecake. was so good the quality and flavor. sat inside and gobbled em up. go check em out

Green Tea and kona coffee. Great combination

Love the ice cream over there. My favorite combo is pink cotton candy and Kona coffee. I know it's a weird combo but hella good. The place is clean and there's chairs for you to seat down with friends and family. Also, there's lots of parking in front or back. The workers there are very nice and they have awesome great customer services. They always great you Hello and treat you like family.

Updated: went to Dave's again few months later. Found out Ash is not working there anymore. Customer service still cordial and clean environment. I wasn't able to consolidate my two stamp cards. I was told one of them was no longer being used and the stamps not valid anymore . Shucks...

Ube (top), Kahlua Fudge (left), and Caramel Mac (right)!

I would rate Dave's a 4.5/5! I came with my boyfriend and sister, and we got the Kahlua Fudge, Ube, and Caramel Mac. The Kahlua Fudge was a coffee base with chocolate fudge and was pretty good! The balance of flavors definitely depended on which bite you took, but overall it was pretty good between the two (not too coffee-ey, not too chocolatey) The Ube had a slight genuine Ube taste, but it is a bit sweet. The Caramel Mac was also on the same level as the Kahlua Fudge for us. It was a good balance between the Macnut and Caramel, but my boyfriend's final words were that it still could use slightly more of a caramel taste. I would say that the perfect combination between ice creams would definitely be Ube and Caramel Mac--I would 100% give this a shot because it definitely brings out the flavor in both when you have them together! The ice cream is quite creamy (really good in my opinion), but it did melt a bit quick for me. Parking is tight, but we did come at a time when there was ample space (about 1230!). The service here was great and quick, and the mood screamed FAMILY and HOME. I'm a big fan of Dave's and we will be coming back again!

While on vacation here in March 2024. Our tour guide brought us here and highly recommend their locally made ice cream. I got the ube single scoop on waffle cone. My husband got the cookie dough single scoop on a classic cone. It was very delicious and I can tell it was homemade. Limited seating inside are available. The workers were very nice. Sample testing is available. We would definitely return on our next vacation

Cookies & Cream and Macadamia Nut
    Sach T.

Found a coupon in the paper BOGO (Buy One Get One) free for a scoop of ice cream in a cup. Knowing that their ice cream is pricey, took advantage of this special. My husband ordered a scoop of Cookies & Cream and I ordered my favorite from here which is the Macadamia Nut. My husband enjoyed his Cookies & Cream but I thought mine tasted different from before...the mac nuts were small pieces and not that many where there used to be half pieces. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to ice cream but thought it was okay. If I paid the regular price of $5.39 a scoop for this, I would've been disappointed.

Walking in it was nice and empty with the exception of a couple folks enjoying their treat at one of the tables in the shop. I paced back and forth looking at the many variety of flavors many popular ones was empty making it even tougher to decide with what they had left and waited and waited for a staff which a lady finally came out and I asked about their "Cappy" item they have displayed on the counter and if it was a shake or smoothie but says it's like a Frappuccino dessert made with a coffee base was interesting and decided on one to which she asked what size and got a small. She got straight to making me one and once I got it was quite disappointed that it was basic as I noticed her scooping from vanilla though the other flavors you're able to get it in are classic, caramel praline, chocolate fudge, Oreo or what the display that I pointed out was "Peppermint Fudge Cappy"...$7.11 for a small and it was vanilla...meh! She honestly looked as if she really didn't want to be there and I just interrupted her moment of silence with the look of disgust as I myself just finished a 9hrs Christmas Eve work as well and missed on some places that I wanted to attend but it s what it is and to just acknowledge what flavor I'd like is not much to ask for though it was good and not trying to say the product wasn't good just was sad on Christmas Eve to have such disappointed service.

My husband and I decided to share the most popular per their menu "The Ulu" with 3 flavors and without toppings, ice cream or Azuki beans...we wanted to enjoy just the shaved ice. We chose the strawberry, banana and mango flavored syrup. After packing the ice, they poke holes on the top so when they pour the syrup, it reaches the bottom. As we were eating, I had to ask them twice if they could pour more syrup because there was only ice in the middle. They poked more holes the second time I had them pour syrup. I'm not sure why but we both didn't care for the syrups. I've tried quite a few shaved ice from different places and loved the strawberry and banana...theirs were kind of tart (I don't like tart!) and didn't taste like what we expected it to. Not sure if it's because the syrup is made with pure cane sugar?? We both liked the mango...it was sweet! We were the only ones in the store and still had to awkwardly approach the counter just to get help. As first-time customers, there was also no explanation of the scoop sizes or pricing, which made ordering more confusing than it needed to be. When we finally ordered, two items were made correctly, but one person in our group ordered dragonfruit gelato. The employee started scooping strawberry instead, and even after we politely pointed it out, there was no acknowledgment or apology--just silence. It made for a really uncomfortable interaction. While we were eating, the employee went into the back, and we could hear her loudly scrolling on social media with the volume on full blast, even laughing at times. Toward the end of our visit, she came back to the front, sat down, and continued on her phone. The entire atmosphere felt so awkward that we decided to leave and finish our gelato in our cars. Even as we walked out, there was no thank you, no goodbye--no acknowledgment at all. It was honestly disappointing. That said, the gelato itself is actually really good, and the interior of the shop is nice. That's the only reason I'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Proper customer service training is definitely needed. I would come back for sure, but I wouldn't return if that same employee was behind the counter.
