Tea is my thing... I've seen Coffee or Tea? whenever I'm in the area but really have the hardest time finding parking at this Crossroads at Waipio complex which is probably why the limit customer parking to 30 minutes to be fair but then that leaves you little time to sit and relax as they do have some tables inside to do so. After finishing at Car Wash 808 Express I though to give it a try and was lucky enough to get a parking and knew it was meant to be as I walked in liked what I saw inside as it's nice and clean and quite spacious and had many of the snacks and treats to choose from as well. I did notice their featured drinks and the Honey & Lemon Black Tea which sounded exactly what I needed and though I'm able to adjust the sweetness and ice level as well is nice to enjoy my drink, the staff made it very fast and efficient giving me lots of time to run over to Golden Coin for some lunch as well. Love this cozy spot though the time limit does deter me from visiting here as I do like to sit and enjoy my tea sometimes as well. Thank you! read more

I passed by this place a few times. Figured checking out Waipahu milk tea shops so here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. Some with 30 minute parking and others without. Seating: Seating for small groups, like pairs. Maybe room for 10-15 people total. Vibes: This is more of a local area, nothing too flashy but some good neighborly gems. You got a Costco and some other good eateries around the area and a huge park. The spot itself is nothing too flashy but it gives a nice warm feeling - comforting snacks out for sale and some toys/plush here and there. Good place to chill, catch up with a friend, or get work done. FOOD: Fresh Papaya Milk (Recommend) I've been to many milk tea shops but never with a place that had papaya milk. It's nothing too flashy or different from eating a papaya. It still has its Ssweet, floral, and fruity flavors. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly people and got my order in a timely matter. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars! Solid experience. Good choices, reasonable prices and a good vibe. I usually love Coffee or Tea but maybe it was just this location. The store wasn't busy but there was only 1 girl taking the orders and making the drinks. She was sweet and I felt so bad for her since she was trying to hurry. A male worker came in towards the end of the rush. When I asked him a question he responded "WHAT?" in such a rude tone. When we got in the car and started to eat the shave ice, we realized that there was only flavoring on the top layer! Even after we mixed the shave ice together there was barely any flavor since it was mostly ice without syrup! The drinks were alright. With the endless amount of boba shops on the island, there's no need to settle for somewhere that has terrible customer service, mediocre drinks and shave ice with no syrup. I can always count on getting the drink I asked for and all the ingredients taste good. I'm not much of a boba person, but I appreciate their jelly options. It had been a long 3 days in the hospital and my wife and I needed a quick boba fix on the way home. I had to order 8 drinks for the rest of the family, too. They do a great job getting the orders done in a timely manner and they packaged it well enough for me to not need to make two trips from the store to my car. The milk tea itself is really smooth. Sometimes, in rare occasions such as this, we end up not finishing our drink in one sitting. The next day was a nice surprise as the boba was not hard as normal boba typically is the next day. This place is the #1 spot for that quick boba fix. This is one of the OG places that started the boba-craze and they always find ways to come up with new and refreshing drinks. A big bonus is that their drinks always taste the same and the prices are very reasonable too. Some of my favorites are the classic milk tea with boba, blended milk tea, watermelon smoothie, and avocado smoothie. Service here is very good as the workers always say welcome or greet you when you come in. And usually there are only 2-3 workers but even when they are busy making all the orders, they find a way to multi-task and get the drinks out quickly. The little cafe has some seating spots inside and ive seen a few people use it as a study spot as well. The place is always very well cleaned and up-kept. So glad that they decided to open a location in Waipio! Pro-tip, they also do party size drinks where you can bring to your next party! My favorite drink is always boba, no matter what and I've been to multiple boba places around the island and it'll never compare to Coffee & Tea in Waipio. First of all, their customer service is amazing because the drinks come out so fast, timely, and I can be in and out quickly. I come by one or twice a week and always order the "Lychee Iced Green Tea with Extra Boba" and I get my dad a "Ube Wall Milk Tea with Boba" and we both love it so much. Hands down, they have the best lychee tea that I've ever tried because usually it's either too bitter or too sweet but this one is perfect. I don't care for anything ube, but my dad loves their ube milk tea and it's always his go to, so I pick it up for him after school for when he comes back from work. Besides the drinks, the ambience of the place is very calming and quiet especially because when I go there's not much people because I go at odd times lol. I don't really do Yelp Reviews, but I've been going to Coffee & Tea in Waipio for a while and it's become my favorite from the drinks to the customer service. Went there a little after 5 p.m. Possibly due to the social distancing many places barely have many people in line. Today I was the only customer there. Ordered a drink for hubs from a poster outside the shop: Pineapple Passion fruit drink with lychee jelly. I told the man taking my order I was still deciding on my drink. He asked what I usually get. I told him Tiger Sugar Milk Tea but it's too sweet. He said we can adjust the sugar on any of our drinks. I asked 25% sugar? He said okay and proceeded to complete the two drink orders for me. I questioned him, really slow or people coming in slowly? He said it's not bad yet, pretty regular. That was good to hear. Good vibes to study or get some work done I have been a loyal customer of Coffee or Tea for almost a decade now (since 2011!), and I can confidently say that they have consistently delivered amazing drinks throughout the years. I have visited their McCully, Aiea, and Waipio locations, and can attest that all of their drinks taste just as good in any of their branches. One thing that I love about Coffee or Tea is that they offer a quiet and cozy environment that's perfect for getting some work done. As someone who lives on the West side, it's hard to find a coffee shop that's not too crowded and noisy, so I always appreciate the chill vibes. I have tried almost everything on their menu, but my top favorites are the Green Tea Shake (they use Dave's green tea ice cream), Milk Tea with Boba (and Cheese Foam occasionally), and Peach Iced Black Tea. Everything was A-OK. Parking - good. lots of stalls on a weekday. Tea - Lavender milk tea didn't taste like lavender at all. Too sweet. Price - fair. Seating - nice large table in the back, great for studying with your friends, if you don't mind the super loud blender going off. What I didn't like was the fact that the server was coughing...everywhere; without covering. I know people get sick and you can't take time off from work, but a mask would have been nice. I was worried that I was going to catch whatever was making her cough and hark because I had a very important function to attend this weekend, that I could NOT miss under any circumstances. No changes here, no shortcuts, still amazing. I think this is the only place so far that I know of where the boba is still pretty soft and chewy the next day. Visited this location twice. The first time I ordered the taro smoothie with boba, which was great. I was able to try a little of my husband's hazelnut milk tea with boba which was also nice. The second time we visited I did the passionfruit smoothie with boba and was thrilled to find passion fruit seeds in this (I love them). My husband the second time ordered the plain black milk tea and boba which was a great classic. Our only complaint about this boba shop is the boba runs a lot softer then other places. We prefer it slightly firmer if given the choice. You can have sugar reduced if you ask as well, even though they don't put it on the menu. read more

WARNING: Ordered their banana fudge shake and this is the second time an employee (two different employees so you know this is their normal practice) used their BARE hands to grab the frozen, unpeeled bananas. He was just at the register prior to making our drinks and they're a (mostly) cash only business. I kindly asked him to remake my drink using a scooper and I got a rude, unapologetic response... while the two workers spoke in their foreign language. Besides the fact that we're in the middle of a pandemic, this is unsanitary and unacceptable. You must have gloves and other scoopers (like the one he used when I asked to remake). There's no excuse to use your hands to touch food. 2. I did acknowledge in my original review that you guys remade another one after I asked. That's the least you could've done. The added attitude was unnecessary. Why didn't you guys apologize??? There's either a minimum to use a card or an added fee which is why I always pay in cash. Extra $.75 for a condensed milk which apply just a few squirts. They're are also FAST TALKERS so watch the digits on the register as you order. We ordered 4 items, first item they rang up was a small Taro Smoothie $5, they rang up at $6.02. I asked why is it that price? He said $.75 for Boba. Ok so why isn't $5.75? Tastes wayyy too milky! I came in and the parking lot was easy to navigate through and find parking, oddly shaped but I found parking. Stalls weren't specifically for certain vendors, sweet, parked in front of Golden Coin and made my way next door. We had the store all to ourselves. My son immediately dove towards the snack area and I ordered the Cheesecake milk tea boba. I turned around to find a table and then my drink was ready. The boba was on the verge of being way to soft. I kind of like my boba to be chewy, not super soft..As for the drink, it did not taste like Cheesecake. Rather it was like I was drinking straight up milk with a hint of tea.. Since it's not too far out, I'm bound to come back and give it a second chance. My phone lost reception in the store so I couldn't actually show him that I was checking in but he honored it with the 10% discount, thanks! read more

Coffee or Tea is one of our top 5 boba places, unfortunately this time around we were a little dissatisfied. We normally go to the Pearl Kai location, but since I was at Costco i stopped at this location to get drinks for my Ohana. My wife wanted to try their tiger milk tea with boba & my daughter got her usual of the banana fudge shake with boba. My daughter enjoyed hers, but my wife was a little disappointed with hers. If you compare pictures, it looks like that as soon as you get but then it gets watered down. Cause 15 minutes later when I have her the drink she said it tasted watered down. Also the boba tasted like grass jelly rather than their signature boba. Obviously we realized the tiger milk needs to be enjoyed as soon as you get it. Well, maybe next time. read more

Definitely one of my favorite boba places. Love their almond and jasmine milk tea! Their boba is also consistently high quality. Not too chewy and has a good flavor. I really enjoy their matcha shakes. It's not too sweet and has a perfect matcha flavor. I like that it's a little on the icy side too! The only thing I tried and didn't like was their lychee black tea but they have so many other options!! I also wish they had options to adjust the sweetness levels like how most boba shops do. read more

Ordered one drink and handed cashier my card to pay. He said it's a minimum order of $10.00 so I ordered another drink as I don't carry cash. Waiting for my order another person ordered after me. Same scenario, she ordered under the minimum of $10.00. The cashier gave her an option, he told her that if she would to pay an extra fee of $.25 then she could pay it under the minimum $10.00 amount. (asssuming charge card fee?). Had I known that I would not have ordered another drink. I spoke to that employee and asked him why I wasn't given that option? He was speechless. - GUILTY! The $.25 option is not written any where by their cash register. Only hand written "$10.00 minimum for credit card charge) is taped to their cashier. My fiance loves Coffee or Tea. When we found out that the newest location opened close to home, we were ecstatic. The location in Waipio is roght after Pearl Hawaii FCU. I don't think many businesses are there yet. Just like the other locations, they do NOT accept credit cards. It is still cash only. The good thing is all the great beverages of teas, coffee, smoothies and milk tea are all available. The taste was consistent to the Mccully location. The baristas were pretty fast. There were only 2 with a line of 5 customers. They were able to take the orders and make the drinks without skipping a beat. Need a place to study? This place has free wifi! Overall, it was the usual visit I would expect at any Coffee or Tea location. Consistent quality of taste and service. There is ample parking. The only downfall is it is cash only. read more
