A memorable evening. Truly talented and imaginative chef and great service. Reasonable price for the tasting menu and optional pairing. No tipping allowed. Limited to 16 diners at a community table. So reserve early. Other than one local couple, all the other diners had traveled far.

We did the super secret winery private chefs table tonight and...I don't have words. The atmosphere was so incredibly cool I will give you that. The presentation of all of the dishes was impeccable. But, omg, the food...abysmal. We started with crudités with a champagne pairing. This was good and no complaints. Next was a black cod with radish paired with a white wine. This was still good although the dish was a little salty. The second wine I finished approximately half of. The third fish course, oh boy. They gave us a brown Riesling which was paired with caviar fish and roe. I tried the Riesling with the caviar and gagged. I couldn't deal with it. That Riesling is the worst wine I have ever tasted. I had them box the rest of this dish because my palette was ruined. The fourth pairing was a Chateauneuf-du-Pape and venison over a lentil salad and morel mushroom. It was so incredibly salty and the lentil salad tasted like grass clippings. Absolutely horrible. I left it. The dessert was a vanilla cake with pop rocks and a port. This was quite tasty but the port was so tart. Also they gave us a bottle of water but never refilled it. I was so parched and then the check ins during dinner were so long I would be glad to see a human who worked there and black out and forget to ask. All in all, cool experience but absolutely not worth the cost of the private experience. Zero stars if I could.

Went with my husband while we were on our mini-honeymoon. The atmosphere was so incredible. We had the earlier seating, met wonderful people, had good food, and just such a wonderful experience. We did agree that the food was nothing earth shattering, but the wine pairing elevated it SO much. Atmosphere and experience is definitely the best!!!

This was, hands down, one of the best meals I've ever had! The food, service, and atmosphere were superb. I wasn't sure I would enjoy a communal dining experience with strangers, but our host set the mood encouraging us to socialize and enjoy the experience together. Before we knew it, the room was filled with sounds of chit chat, laughter, and at one point singing! The chef served a delectable menu, provided thoughtful and humorous commentary, and had a little surprise for the table! While I didn't opt for the wine pairing with our meal, those who did found the sommelier's selections were impressive and complemented the courses perfectly. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, the staff will make the experience particularly memorable!

Super cool experience! Very much reminded me of the show The Bear. The staff is so passionate about their work and product. Servings were small but we all left feeling satisfied. Ambiance is fancy and upscale.

What a dinner/experience! Very impressed by the atmosphere, quality of food/wine, and overall experience at FLX. I learned that they typically sell out of both evening dinner windows (~5:30pm and ~8:30pm), which seat anywhere from 10-20 people total (ours was 3 tables, one of 2, one or 3, one of 4, and one of 7). One member of our group had to check back quite a bit for a reservation opening, but a few weeks in advance, we were able to lock in the later slot on a Saturday. We arrived a little before 8:15pm, and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine as the team finished setting up and transitioning from the first dinner (each lasted ~3 hours). The staff took the time to explain each of their courses, where the ingredients were sourced, and how each was prepared (including the sommelier re: wine pairing). Everyone was incredibly friendly, willing to answer our questions, and I'd definitely come back for a special occasion next time I'm in the area!

We had the most amazing meal at FLX table. Every dish we tried was delicious. We did the FLX wine pairing with it and tried some great local wines that paired beautifully with the food. I wasn't sure what to expect eating at a communal table but we had great conversation with the other diners. Highly recommend!

I came here on May 13 for the dinner service for a mother's day present. In a nutshell, I would not recommend this place based off 2 things. Professionalism and portions. I texted AND called them days before my reservation to let them know my mom was a pescatarian. It says to do this in the reservation as the menu is pre determined the day before. When we got there, her menu did not reflect this. When we politely told them, they acknowledged it. Then, he proceeded to serve her an ONION ( I am not kidding, it was a quarter cooked onion. I wish I could make this up!!) for the main course. Now, we knew they had fish because 1.) The table behind us got it and 2.) I called & called them days before and they acknowledged the receipt of information! I couldn't believe it,especially for that price point AND we followed all the instructions. My second issue is the menu in general is not constructed well. There is very very little meat protein. The lamb was the size of my thumb and I am a small woman for perspective. It is so small you can't even appreciate the dish because its two bites. The biggest catch is in the beginning they serve you a HUGE!!! piece of foccacia bread. It's so largee... almost as a way of concealing how much little food you get throughout the service. Then you won't be hungry at the end to complain but honestly it felt like a cruel gourmet joke. If you havs seen the Menu (movie) it felt almost like that. The ONLY THING that was good about this restaurant was the sommelier who did the wine pairing. Wines he picked were amazing, and he should leave that place and open up his own restaurant or wine bar because this ship is not going to stay afloat. Attached is proof of the text because I'm not making this up. Go somewhere else and save that money for delicious wine tasting.

Our group was welcomed, my coat was taken, I was shown the seating. I was brought a drink menu and a small bite to try. Our table was set up in the kitchen area where the chef was busy with our meal preparation. Our table was beautifully set with mismatched silverware, wine glasses and our first course, the Farmer's Board. Beautiful focaccia bread studded with garlic cloves and herbs on top. This was accompanied by a selection of butters and dips and raw vegetables. We had a five course tasting menu, a combination of hot and cold dishes all plated with perfection. Our food menu was price-fixed but there were options for adding wines for each course, (at different price levels , nice touch) as well as a beer pairing. There were silverware changes for each course and the service was stellar. My favorite course was the Walleye Quenelles with a perfect spoon of caviar. I will definitely be back for another special occasion.

4.5 Star experience overall. I think FLX Table truly excels in the area of hospitality. Their sommelier Michalis Kalampoukas is particularly exceptional at welcoming guests while dropping wine knowledge to guests as the FLX Table sommelier. The rest of the staff is also attentive and friendly. Michelin star level service in my opinion. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the food presentation is a bit theatrical, with an introductory spiel for each menu course. However, I think it's fitting for a small restaurant like FLX Table and adds to the overall dining experience. FLX Table scores 5 stars in regard to service. I've visited FLX Table twice. The first time was a bit disappointing food-wise actually. The courses just didn't appeal to me at the time. There was an apple gazpacho that a bit too sour and also a terrine dish that had an odd texture. The food during our second visit was much better. The farmers vegetable board with spreads and salted bread was excellent. The smashed cucumber salad was nice and refreshing even though I am not a huge fan of mayo. Our lamb main was a bit small in portion, but was cooked well and nicely accompanied with the quinoa tabbouleh. My favorite plate was the roasted strawberry, rhubarb and lemon curd dessert. It was the perfect combination of sweet and sour. Keeping my first experience in mind and not being blown away by any single dish, I would give them 4 stars for overall food taste. In terms of atmosphere, FLX Table is cozy restaurant with very limited seating. Despite its size, it remains open-concept with high ceilings and a visible kitchen. It's got a rustic / farmhouse style feel to it. The intimate ambience is in harmony with the personalized dining experience - 4.5 stars. As far as price and portions go, the regular Table Dinner is ~ $79/person, which I think is a good deal for a 4-course meal. The portions for the main dishes are on the smaller side, but even the biggest appetites should not leave hungry. The wine pairing can be just as expensive as the dinner, ranging from $59 to $179, but they have some pretty impressive wines on their list, including various vintages of Lafite Rothschild. Michalis did a good job picking out wines that complimented the food well. Overall, FLX Table offers a truly unique and intimate dining experience. The single communal dining table will be back in August I believe, but tables are still separate for now (for better or worse). It's a good place to visit with friends or family for a special occasion. Even from Rochester, I think the drive is worth it (just make sure you have a designated driver). I will be back again!

We had their Valentines dinner take away Very tasty! Only complaint is that the quantity was small for the Chateaubriand Less then 4 ounces per person! Tasty but very small serving size. It was ordered by my son-in-law which I thought was very wonderful to offer to me and my daughter for Valentine's Day!

Highly recommend! Such a wonderful intimate experience. Reservations are required and you pay in advance for 6 course menu. They seat 12-20 ish people per meal. They have an opportunity to put in any dietary needs. The food was unique and flavorful, presentation was fun. It was a great date night and worth the cost by far! The chef explains each dish and the wait staff was very friendly. They offer wine and beer pairings as well as drinks by the glass. Many people were there for celebration, which they acknowledged! Looking forward to going back.

Duck breast was a little rare for me and a little gamely.

Service was excellent. Their waiting area is simple and nice. The food was average but the experience was superb. The chef explained each dish and paired with the wine we selected. We enjoyed the dinner but was hoping for more unique seasoning and tastes.

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!
