HORRIBLE SERVICE! HORRIBLE STAFF! You should have been prepared for the people that came for the Ironman. We put our name on the list, waited to be called, came when they called, they sat us down and then we waited and waited and WAITED. And no one came. People were seated after us, their order was taken , their food was served...and we just waited and waited and WAITED. WE WERE NEVER SERVED. Even if their food was good (which I'll never know) their service, and lack of customer service and people skills is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. read more

Great value! What a lovely brunch we enjoyed at the Water St Cafe. We didn't go more than 5 minutes without a warm-up on our coffee. Excellent service. The portions were generous and food was flavorful. As a starter we enjoyed home fries loaded with homemade sausage gravy. That was a meal in itself! The coffee mugs were a hand-thrown pottery that was unique and beautiful. We stopped in on a Saturday and there was a local brewery offering their drinks, along with a volleyball team raising money for a trip. Lots of young people in the "team room". It was an engaging spot to enjoy food and we would definitely return! Good meetup place for friends. read more

Went here for breakfast. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The vibe is perfect in there. The food was great and the service and prices you can't beat. Great spot to have breakfast or lunch. Easy to park on the street or in a lot that's close. They have specials before 9 am. The menu is pretty extensive and a great selection of choices. read more

Friday morning breakfast, our first of the trip to the Finger Lakes we stopped here for some food. Smaller place with a very friendly staff and a small tight-knit community. We were sat in the middle of the floor near the bar on a two-top. Started off with coffee and a water, and settled on the make your own burrito and added one pancake which I noticed were very large. The burrito, which I misheard, came with chopped or cubed sausage - had I known I would have ordered bacon, cheese eggs, peppers and onions. Again - it was my fault but it still tasted good. I just don't like the feeling of a soft burrito filled with cubed meat. The pancake was good a slathered it in butter and syrup. The staff was great and this was a nice start to the day and trip on the first full day. read more

Decent breakfast place while visiting Seneca Lake (Geneva New York). We ate outside which was nice as the weather has been really good. The service was wonderful. Everyone was extremely nice & helpful. Nice big ceramic mugs for our coffee. I had the early morning special (before 9:00) - scrambled egg mixed with potatoes, toast & coffee for $5.99. I did share my feedback that the ratio of potato to eggs was a little too much & it seemed well- received. My husband had an omelette which he said was good. Very busy Saturday morning. Chaotic inside, went for outside seating. Food was okay. Biscuits and gravy by far the best thing we had. Nice atmosphere outside except for all the people standing around waiting for seating and cars parking a few feet away. Service was pretty slow as would be expected with the crowed. read more

A group of six of us went for a late lunch on New Year's Eve. Seating was tight and the ambiance non existent (but we expected that). The service was great though, and so was the food. All ordered different items, everything was excellent! Be aware, most tables are for 2 or 4, so don't come with a big group. read more

What a busy place on a Sunday morning! Very small diner style place. Little hard to hear since it was so loud. Statesman platter 8/10 Eggs- over easy. cooked perfectly. Bacon- was delicious. Cooked perfectly, soft with a little crisp. Not hard or overcooked or burnt. French toast- was really good! Very thick slice of bread. Home fries- very plain, no flavor, they were like sliced boiled potatoes. Definitely not what I was expecting. I wish they would have been grilled or something and crispier. Was better dipped in the egg yolks with some salt. Garbage plate 8/10 Eggs- came omelette style. Home fries- same as above. Like sliced boiled potatoes. Wished they were crispy or fried or something. Visiting from Florida in July 2024, and our meal was incredible!! Restaurant & building is cool and what you might expect for a breakfast spot, we sat outside and the weather was perfect. Servers were solid and helpful. Food. Four in our group and everyone was VERY happy with their orders. I had an omelette with provolone & roasted peppers, others had poached eggs & French toast (French toast didn't look like it, very cool & original), oatmeal that was surprisingly good and inventive, banana pancakes GLUTEN FREE (which my wife is truly grateful they offer gluten free pancakes and French toast), as I said everyone loved their food! Definitely pay attention to details. Just me getting the toast and having it buttered and melted is a LOVE of mine. I despise murdering a piece of toast with a cold piece of butter. We're staying in the Belhurst castle and the breakfast was blah. After a quick hop on Yelp we found the Water Street Cafe. Nice little local/family diner. Great omelette and the sourdough bread toast was the real deal. Very nice staff too. Will probably be going back tomorrow. read more

Always a hit! Stopped here for brunch at 1230 pm.. they close at 1 on sundays... place was packed. We were greeted by a friendly server who offered us seats at the counter to order drinks and food until a table was ready for us, which it was within about 10 minutes. This is delicious, homemade dine food, quality ingredients, large servings and great service. I had a tuna melt on sourdough, and it was huge and delicious! One son had a breakfast burger that he devoured and the other son had a trash plate that was definitely a heart clogger, but he loved it! My husband had hash and eggs and ate every bite. Just looking for something healthy and fast. I walked by a half an hour before I sat down and there was nobody outside when I came back half an hour later it was packed except for one table was open. As I sat down, I got coffee fairly shortly thereafter, but when ordering and getting my order, that was a different story and I'm sure that's just because they were a little overwhelmed by the rush of people that came in. It's a small, mom pop style diner. They are very popular and fill up pretty quick. I had one of their burgers and it was very good. They do not serve alcohol. The service was quick and friendly. This spot is perfect if you have hangover, so it explains all the college students, lol. read more

This place is very generous with portions, low-cost, and absolutely delicious. The staff is also friendly & their wait list goes by pretty quick. We got the garbage plate, strawberry pancakes, and sausage links. The vibes are definitely more old-towny, which makes for a cool experience. Parking is also easy and abundant. First off Ms Teresa, you and your husband have created a breakfast spot that is travel worthy! Everything that was ordered and delivered to our table was perfect, including your conversation. It's not often that you find somewhere as welcoming as Water Street, and somewhere that puts that much love into everything they deliver. We went to this place a couple of years ago and loved it. Good food service and friendly staff. That has changed. We had a party of 4, went to have breakfast on Friday morning; we were seated, took our coats off and were handed menus.Then, a group of 6 people walked in and the staff didn't know what to do, there were no tables open for 6, so they turned to the hostess(?) who told us to get up, take our menus, coats and silverware and move to a table she pointed at with her finger. She was rude and treated us like we worked for her. No "please..could you do us a favor?" Just: "You need to move so we can seat this group! Take your silverware, coats and menus and sit over there." Our chins hit the floor and the group of 6 felt awful. They apologized and the whole scene was horrible and unnecessary . I HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH MORE COURTESY AT DMV. The food was ok. Note also new...they do not butter your toast for breakfast, it comes dry with an on-site prepared little cup of orange margarine - this is also new. Also attached and new is a picture of a sign they have at each table. Kind of like "Our rules for customers." See bullet point #2. What does: "Please be Courteous with Your Time(sic)'' mean? This is followed by a rule where you need to wait outside for your table. I'm done, I do not go out to eat to be treated this way.....the people that own and run this place are taking things too far and should not be playing musical chairs with their customers. If the staff keeps acting like this, there will be plenty of free tables......soon! read more

I would come here on the regular if I lived near by. The food was good, the space clean. The servers appeared to have good working relationships. Everyone was on the move and attentive. What really took the cake was when a gentleman walked in who appeared to be a bit rough around the edges. They knew his name, talked to him with kindness and familiarity. They knew he hadn't been feel well and suggested menu items that might sit well. Even if the food was subpar which it wasn't I'd come here to support the humanity that they dish out. read more

We had brunch at Water St while vacationing in the FLX area. 10/10. First off, all of the employees were incredibly friendly, accommodating and welcoming! We stumbled upon this nice little family-owned breakfast spot on a recent trip to the Finger Lakes. It was busy the Sunday morning we visited but only waited 15 minutes for the table. I enjoyed gluten-free French toast, and the hub had a breakfast plate. The only thing keeping me from a 5-star review were the potatoes. They were mushy and flavorless. Very cute lil mom and pop breakfast place. They have these cute lil mugs for coffee that look homemade. Homefries where the only thing I wasnt fond on, slices of potato, and flavorless. Tastiest breakfast ever! My husband enjoyed steak and eggs. I had scrambled with Swiss cheese and sausage. All cooked well. They were a total yum! Plus the coffee was soooo very good! The environment was cozy and friendly and the waitress was sociable and attentive. Best experience! read more
