This was the first breakfast my wife and I had as a married couple! We decided to take a walk down Main Street canandaigua and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. Once inside, the restaurant has a nice little cozy feel. The place was PACKED, but we must have just walked in at the right time, being seated instantly. Our waitress was over within a minute or two, and took our drink orders. And a couple minutes after that, we were able to put in our food orders. I ordered a hot delight omelette, with their homemade white toast, and a side of corned beef hash. The omelette was good not great, with a nice hint of spice from the jalapeños. The homemade toast was the star of the show with a nice crisp to it, and a nice buttery flavor. The corned beef hash was not my cup of tea. I am a corned beef hash lover, but I was not a fan of the taste and texture of it here at Patty's. The flavor was really potato forward with not much of a meat flavor to it. My wife ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits, which was the start of the show! The gravy had a nice blend of sausage and pepper flavor, while not being too forward with a cream tasting. The biscuits were so warm and fluffy. Overall we had a good time and the staff were very friendly. With my wife and I being local we definitely will be back, probably to try some different foods. read more

Great local breakfast place on Main St in Canandaigua. Coffee and food are good, and all is well priced. Good atmosphere, feels like home. The pancakes are delicious! read more

We came to Canandaigua around the Fourth of July and stayed near the lake. We really fell in love with this little town, but mostly because of PATTY's place. This breakfast was great. Especially those cinnamon roll pancakes with cream cheese frosting. read more

Phenomenal. Every thing I tried was perfect. The cinnamon bun pancake was the best breakfast item I have ever eaten.

We were looking for a quintessential, warm, welcoming diner with a classic American breakfast menu, and this place right here, IS IT. The homemade white toast, hot and fresh, sent me to heaven upon first bite. The home fries-wow. Not quite diced potato, not hash browns, but smashed and delectable with a perfectly charred crust from the greasy flat top. This is the place you wanna go. read more

My husband and I went here for breakfast. Walking in reminded me of a family diner with cute decorations and multiple dedications to local veterans. We were immediately greeted by staff who were incredibly friendly. The menu has a lot of breakfast selections. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled eggs. Our food came out quickly and was hot. I was impressed with how delicious and flavorful the sausage gravy was. The eggs were also fluffy and hot, full of flavor which I am normally quite picky about. My husband ordered the hot delight omelette, homemade toast and corned beef hash. His meal was good overall, but there was a flavor in the hash that was off putting. Since my husband and I are locals, we will definitely be returning here! read more

Patty's Place - My husband! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Canandaigua, New York

What I experienced at Patty's Place was not just bad service--it was racism, plain and simple. From the moment I walked in, I was treated differently, judged, and disrespected by every single waitress in the diner. The hostility was undeniable, and it was directed at me for one reason only: because I am Black. This is more than unacceptable--it is disgusting. No business that serves the public should be allowed to openly discriminate against people based on race. Yet Patty's Place has made it clear that Black customers are not welcome. That reality needs to be said out loud, because silence only protects places like this. I want the community to understand something important: racism is not always hidden or subtle. Sometimes it stares you right in the face, just like it did here. That is exactly what makes Patty's Place so dangerous. If you value equality, respect, and human decency, this is not the kind of business you should support. To anyone thinking of eating here: ask yourself if you want your money going to an establishment that treats people this way. I strongly urge you--especially if you are Black or care about justice--do not step foot in Patty's Place. read more

This is a very nice local restaurant. I had the blueberry pancakes, which were excellent, and 2 were more than enough.

Great service and a very delicious breakfast. The sausage was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing!!!! Service was perfect. Ambiance is home town themed and is tasteful. Must try the cinnamon raisin bread with homemade strawberry jam! Prices were just right, I don't mind paying for this quality of food. Would recommend ten times over! read more

I will dream about the cinnamon roll pancake ! The service was great and food absolutely delicious!!! We will be returning!

Food is good but service seems to be hit or miss. Other tables were getting their food on time and ours was extra delayed for some reason. She didn't say anything when she dropped off the food. When the food finally came it was lukewarm. I had to walk up to kitchen to get utensils! We were out of our coffee and water and no checking on us till we flagged her down. When she did finally come check on us she asked if we needed boxes to go! read more

I need to be absolutely clear about my experience at Patty's Place: this diner is deeply racist. As a Black customer, I walked in expecting a simple breakfast, and instead I was met with cold stares, disrespect, and open discrimination from every waitress in the building. The message was loud and clear--I was not welcome there because of the color of my skin. This wasn't a misunderstanding. This wasn't poor service. This was blatant racism, carried out without shame in front of everyone. That kind of treatment leaves you angry, humiliated, and hurt--feelings no human being should ever have to experience just for existing in a public space. Patty's Place is, without question, one of the most racist establishments in Canandaigua, New York. And people need to know this. If you are Black, or if you stand against racism in any form, do not give this diner your money. Supporting a place that openly discriminates only enables their behavior. We live in a time where there is no excuse for this. This isn't just about bad service--it's about dignity, humanity, and the right to be treated equally. Patty's Place failed on every level, and I will never return. read more

Best breakfast we've had in a long time ! Eggs, home fries, sausage patties, bacon all absolutely delicious! Nice atmosphere and the service was great! Met the owner Jen very pleasant and attentive! My husband and I highly recommend Pattys Place! read more

Tip: Don't do what we did and stand awkwardly by the door waiting to be seated. You sit wherever is open and where you want to. We stopped here on our way to do some wine tasting. The service was great, and the coffee was delicious and hot. I had the corned beef hash. It came with homemade toast and jam, which I passed along to my boyfriend. He said it was incredible. I enjoyed the corned beef hash and the scrambled eggs. My boyfriend enjoyed his food, which was eggs benedict. I would definitely stop here again when in the area. read more

Looks like a small mom and pop diner inside, This was one of the few breakfast places open on a Tuesday around this area (not sure why) and it turned out to be a good pivot from our original plans. Their homemade bread is very good so be sure to pick that option for your toasts. They had a special with gravy that was also quite tasty. Service was friendly. It's near some cool stores like a toy shop and an art gallery, so you can walk around and kill some time after. read more

First time I've been at this restaurant for many years and it did not disappoint. My family of seven enjoyed a lot wonderful breakfast and which was very tasty. The service staff was professional and very attentive to our needs. The restaurant is small, yet true to its history. We had fried eggs, bacon, with homemade toasted bread that was incredible (We purchased a loaf). We also had the best pancakes with fresh blueberries that will make your mouth water. Also the home fries were crisp and full of taste. If a great breakfast is what your after, this is a must for all foodies. Amazing food. Homemade breads. Warm welcoming service. Super large portions, so order accordingly

Small diner on Main st. Homey no frills American diner. I have been twice in a few days. Service the first day was good with two waitresses but the second day was only one waitress and she was doing her best but definitely too many tables for one person to handle. Highly recommend the homemade cinnamon raisin toast and homemade wheat bread. Both are soft and light. Cinnamon Raisin is sprinkled with sugar and could definitely eat more of it. read more

I honestly LOVE Patty's place. The ONLY reason they don't get 5 stars is the parking. It's a block behind the building and if you have little kids, it's cold or you wore your heals (for some reason) it's not the most fun walk. HOWEVER, the food is always good. In the tons of times we have gone they have never screwed up our meal. They serve American food, breakfast and lunch. TIP: Order their homemade bread for your toast! read more

The pancakes are spectacular. I added the real maple syrup which was an additional $3.99 I'd say it felt like a splurge but was worth it. Comfortable atmosphere, quick service and exactly what were we're looking for in a weekday vacation breakfast, would recommend. read more

We had rented a lakehouse here in town for the weekend and stopped here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. There was a bit of a wait but we weren't in a hurry. The breakfast I ordered was pretty basic - eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. They offered me English muffin bread toast and this was the best thing I've ever had. The eggs were amazing. The potatoes weren't my fav but I loved everything else so much it didn't matter. We loved it so much we came back the next day before heading out of town. I got the same exact order without the potatoes this time and it was perfect. read more

First time here and it was a wonderful experience. Our waitress Sandy was so friendly. She kept the coffee flowing and it was really good coffee. I ordered the cinnamon bun pancakes with a side of sausage. These pancakes were so delicious. They were moist, light and fluffy. They had a cinnamon swirl inside with a cream white glaze on top. Outstanding Quality, Service and Value - Ignore Negative Comments! I admit because of my traveling and schedule I am an infrequent patron of Patty's Place Diner. However, when I am in town, I look forward to breakfast at Patty's and chatting with the owner, Jen who always has a smile on her face and upbeat attitude even considering the trials of making ends meet in a difficult and competitive business environment. Unfortunately, when preparing to post a review of breakfast this morning 03-12-22, I happened to notice a few vicious, fake and ludicrous reviews on Google Reviews as it regards Patty's Place. Even to the extent that some dimwit suggested Patty's staff is racist or supports racism. I say enough of this garbage, and may you rot in hell for such a lie and deceptive comment. I can positively and unequivocally attest to the fact that these rancid reviews are bogus, but some deranged individuals apparently get their jollies by tearing down small businesses and posting untruths. What a cruel world we already live in, and then you have wackos posting unbased reviews of the best breakfast / lunch establishment in the greater Canandaigua New York area, reviews that serve no useful purpose to anyone but to further the radical left's toxic agenda, create discord and animus. No one in their right mind is critical without offering suggested solutions for improvement. But to post reviews that serve no useful purpose but to incite hatred and tear down hardworking business owners is beyond reprehensible, I don't care how difficult the issue and poor the service or quality if your eggs were runny and the coffee wasn't refilled on a timely basis, or God forbid that you had to wait 5 minutes too long for your meal. Remember, for those reading this there are two sides to every story. If you don't have something positive to offer, then I suggest you shut your mouth, stifle your text fingers and go somewhere else that meets your every whim and beckon call. But as far as I am concerned, Jen her sister and the entire staff does a superb job considering the hurdles they must overcome every day, and that includes being subjected to rude and ornery patrons and reviews. Today's breakfast entrée of poached eggs, homemade corned beef hash, hash browns, homemade white toast, coffee and orange juice was the best I've ever had, notwithstanding the wonderful service which could not have been better, and all delivered with a sincere smile and thank you! read more

They take credit cards now! As an out of town visitor, Patty's gave me all of the hometown diner vibes I was looking for. The food was SO GOOD and the service was great. In addition to our meals, we got a cinnamon bun pancake to share, oh my god...it was crispy and gooey at the same time and came with a cream cheese frosting drizzled over top, perfection! They were very busy and being careful to wipe down thoroughly between customers. You also can't beat the prices, it's a great bang for your buck. They don't take reservations and the space is not huge, so you may have to wait, but it's honestly worth it in my opinion. read more

Located on a charming main street next to a set of railroad tracks, Patty's quite literally had a line out the door when we went. They boast that they are on eof the longest continually operating diners in the United States and when you have breakfast there, it's not hard to see why. We loved it so much we actually went both mornings that we were in town. From the Biscuits and Gravy on day 1 to the omelet on day 2, everything we got was amazing. *** CASH ONLY *** Anyhow, let me start by saying I attended a wedding the night before and was craving some seriously greasy food by 12:30am. The hotel bar and restaurant was closed, So my husband and I spend a good hour looking at yelp photos and reviews of all nearby diners serving greasy breakfast. By 1:30 am it was decided that we would go to Patty's Place after checkout. Street Parking, so we ended up parking by Twisted Rail bar. Upon arriving (10am ish) there was a line of folks standing in the doorway. I wrongly assumed they spoke with a hostess and bee-lined it inside to put my name on a list. I got made a lot of older folks mad. They all pipped in an asked me where I thought I was going!.. ha Needless to say, they DO NOT have a hostess station. So, be prepared to stand around until your next for a table. Also, all of the folks waiting block the small typed sign stating CASH ONLY. Lotta people came in an headed right to the back of the restaurant to "hug Patty". This surprised me because she sits near the back on a stool with a scowl on her face. She guards the register, only leaving her post to hug these patrons with a half smile. (again, back to seat and puts her mean face on) By the way, she is the only person who can use the register. At one point 3 servers were standing there waiting for her to cash them out. Also, there is a suggestion box that is positioned right in from of Patty. I had plenty suggestions I wanted to offer, but it wasn't feeling too inviting and anonymous, so I opted to forgo this. Anyhow, I was feeling HUNGRY. I order a B.E.C. on hard role with a side of home fries. Both were greasy and great, just like I wanted. I also ordered a side of their homemade corned beef hash but was told it was sold out. Come on people, it's 10:30 am and a popular item. Can't you plan a little better? BOO. My husbands breakfast burrito was huge and tasty according to him. Also, our friend ordered a super combo breakfast and I was shocked by how expensive it was for what it looked like on the plate. The chocolate milk was actually surprisingly BAD. It was not thick or creamy or chocolaty. It was thin and not mixed, so you could see it was of the instant variety by the weird powdery chocolate stuff floating on the top. Save your $2.50 on that. No straws. You have to ask and you still do not receive enough for all the drinks on the table. The single Bathroom was small, dark, and smelly. Located behind perched Patty on her stool and in front of the kitchen pick up window. Overall, it took forever for our food to arrive but was tasty. Will I return?? Maybe...but much earlier so I can get that homeade hash. read more
