This was the first breakfast my wife and I had as a married couple! We decided to take a walk down Main Street canandaigua and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. Once inside, the restaurant has a nice little cozy feel. The place was PACKED, but we must have just walked in at the right time, being seated instantly. Our waitress was over within a minute or two, and took our drink orders. And a couple minutes after that, we were able to put in our food orders. I ordered a hot delight omelette, with their homemade white toast, and a side of corned beef hash. The omelette was good not great, with a nice hint of spice from the jalapeños. The homemade toast was the star of the show with a nice crisp to it, and a nice buttery flavor. The corned beef hash was not my cup of tea. I am a corned beef hash lover, but I was not a fan of the taste and texture of it here at Patty's. The flavor was really potato forward with not much of a meat flavor to it. My wife ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits, which was the start of the show! The gravy had a nice blend of sausage and pepper flavor, while not being too forward with a cream tasting. My husband and I went here for breakfast. Walking in reminded me of a family diner with cute decorations and multiple dedications to local veterans. Looks like a small mom and pop diner inside, This was one of the few breakfast places open on a Tuesday around this area (not sure why) and it turned out to be a good pivot from our original plans. Located on a charming main street next to a set of railroad tracks, Patty's quite literally had a line out the door when we went. They boast that they are on eof the longest continually operating diners in the United States and when you have breakfast there, it's not hard to see why. So, be prepared to stand around until your next for a table. Also, all of the folks waiting block the small typed sign stating CASH ONLY. Lotta people came in an headed right to the back of the restaurant to "hug Patty". This surprised me because she sits near the back on a stool with a scowl on her face. She guards the register, only leaving her post to hug these patrons with a half smile. (again, back to seat and puts her mean face on) By the way, she is the only person who can use the register. At one point 3 servers were standing there waiting for her to cash them out. Also, there is a suggestion box that is positioned right in from of Patty. I had plenty suggestions I wanted to offer, but it wasn't feeling too inviting and anonymous, so I opted to forgo this. Anyhow, I was feeling HUNGRY. I order a B.E.C. on hard role with a side of home fries. Both were greasy and great, just like I wanted. I also ordered a side of their homemade corned beef hash but was told it was sold out. Come on people, it's 10:30 am and a popular item. Can't you plan a little better? BOO. My husbands breakfast burrito was huge and tasty according to him. Also, our friend ordered a super combo breakfast and I was shocked by how expensive it was for what it looked like on the plate. The chocolate milk was actually surprisingly BAD. It was not thick or creamy or chocolaty. It was thin and not mixed, so you could see it was of the instant variety by the weird powdery chocolate stuff floating on the top. Save your $2.50 on that. No straws. You have to ask and you still do not receive enough for all the drinks on the table. The single Bathroom was small, dark, and smelly.
