If you're basing your food plans on Muddy Waters, make a backup plan! We came by three times, but it wasn't open during its posted hours any of the times. While we were trying to figure out if the online hours were correct with the posted hours, there were other people trying to go to the café too. Super bummed because it looks cute. read more

The most rude staff/owner I've ever experienced. We were trying to look at the menu and figure out what our kids wanted because they didn't have the bread the kids wanted, then she yelled, "While you guys ARGUE about that, let's figure out the ADULT orders." Now I know it can be hard to wait while we figure out orders but she was not understanding at all, and lost her temper after 30 seconds of contemplation. We left because we no longer felt comfortable there and had never been treated like that at a restaurant before. The food was so good it was really hard to decide what to get! Definitely get a lemonade, they were delicious! I got the blue moon salad and it was so good. My sister got the Neffer sandwich and that was amazing too! Also get the chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookie. The lady was very nice and you can see that the food is all fresh. If you sit outside you get a great view of the Erie Canal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in Palmyra. read more

So perfect! This little cafe is tucked into Palmyra down by the river. So delicious and so hospitable. Our family was treated like family. The food was fresh and yummy!! The owner chatted with us for quite awhile, getting to know us and our travels. She made great recommendations and made everything from scratch and served it all hot. My partner, 12yo, and I rode our bikes from Syracuse to Lockport. We camped in Newark, but waited till our first stop in Palmyra to get our coffee and breakfast, because we heard about this cute little cafe right on the trail. I actually ate a salad for breakfast, because it just sounded so good on the menu, and it was! My son loved his sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. We just happened to stumble on this cute little cafe while out for a walk on the Canalway Trail and it was the perfect place to stop for a sandwich and a beer. They make both hot and cold sandwiches and had maybe four kinds of beer on tap, including Fat Tire. My BLT was very good. They have more tables inside, but also have a small deck with four tables and a view of the canal. Great find. read more

Delicious paninis that are very reasonably priced (~$8). Small place with cute decor and great location along the river. The woman there (guessing the owner) is a one stop shop taking orders at the counter, making sandwiches and ringing people up. We got there around 1:30 and they were sold out of cookies so call ahead if you want to try them! I liked the #2 sandwich (had good flavor) but I tried bites of a few others and they were all pretty good. Just wish they offered carrot sticks or salad as an option versus tortilla chips. read more

We were looking for something new other than the typical Main Street diner and we found this little gem. The setting is quaint and peaceful; right on the canal. They have a pleasant indoor dinning area with plenty of windows to enjoy the view or sit outside on the deck and listen to the birds while you enjoy the home cooked food. Everything we had was delicious, from the breakfast sandwich with grilled veggies, egg and cheese to the bagels. Coffee is fresh and self serve. The owner greater us with a smile and promptly waited on us. We plan on making this a regular stop when we are in town.
