    Veiw from our seats

I had called to make reservations amd was put on hold for ten MiN. I hung up and tryied a second number it rang and rang. Said it 2as a Google number? Hung up and tried a 3rd number. They answered and tranfered me to another extention. I talk with a polite male and he helped me make the reservation. We waited for someone to acknowledge us while we stood in the bar area. 2 people were in the dining area but I thought they were custumers having there meal. They glanced over at us and as I was about to walk out, a woman came over and asked if we needed a table for 2. I ecknolaged that we made a reservation giving her my name. She said yes for 5:15pm. Maybe we interuped there break coming in early. The gentalmen said if we arrived early that it would not be a problem. let me set the stage. There was maybe one other table in the whole place that was taken! The rest were at the bar. We were seated and offered water. The veiw was nide until you sat down to the table. The farm is such that it is write at eye level so they need to replace the tables with higher seats if the view is somthing they are using to draw people in. There is seating out side that may be a bg draw in the warmer weather. We order drinks and she came in a timely manner. Took our order appetizers and dinner, most places do this now for some reason. We ordered a meat and cheese platter. It was small but enough for two. 4 types of mustard seeds, and maybe 3 kinds of meat. Nothing spectacular about it. We thought it was served with some crackers or bread. We had peal and eat shrimp with a toss of old bay seasoning. Maybe 12 tiny tiny shrimp and thick chunky tasteless what I would assume was cocktail sauce. Salty with the bay seasoning. Maybe just do plan. Sauce had no flavor. Whe she came over after we finished, she asked how it was. We were frank, alright, hmm. My husband mentioned we thought it would of been served with bread or crackers. An paused and said oh you are right. Let me get some rools they just came out the oven.. I think she missed the crackers.. Over all I would give the food a 3. Not something I would eat again. She took the cheese platter off the table but never asked if we wanted it boxed to take with us and brought the food out at that same time. A little rushed I felt. Seeing they were not at all busy. Our drinks ran dry and my husbaned had to wave to her to come over to the table as she seemed more engaged with a conversation with co worker the tending to customers. My chicked was so so. It looked good. Skin was fair. Meat was somewhat dry and I did not recognize the filling of cheese. A little strong and needed to be more on the moist side. Rice and vegetables were good. Hubby said his steak was fine but not something he wants again. The server could of been a little less rushed and a little more attentive. If she would of asked we could of told here aw needed crackers or bread and more drinks.

Delicious food and views! We had the Mushroom and pork belly bruschetta, Brussels sprouts nachos, pork belly bites. It was a slow day. But our waitress was split between serving inside and outside. She managed to do both well!

If you're looking for a good drinks and appetizer place this may be be for you. But overall our experience was eloquently mid. The location is nice on the lake, we wish we could have sat outside though. The service was nice and the staff was friendly. Our appetizer of poutine was delicious along with the bread and made us excited about our entrees. The meal I got was the pork chop, it was a bit over seasoned for me. It came with cheddar risotto which was yummy and was my favorite part. It also came with Brussels which were also a bit crisp for me as well. The entree my partner got was a Caribbean mahi mahi with wild rice and asparagus, while the wild rice and asparagus were both well done the fish fell short of of flavor and did meet his expectations. We probably would try another restaurant next time we go out.

It was beautiful and I enjoyed meeting new people. Ravines wine is also the best I have had on Seneca Lake. Dryer and more robust. Can't wait to come back!

Wasn't sure if I should post this under Ravines Wine Cellar or under the Ravinous Kitchen, so this…read morereview might be making appearances in both.... My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

I'm trying to be…read moreintentionally somewhat vague with my photos of the food/identifying it since this experience is a blind multi course meal, meaning when you sign up, you won't know what food items will be served. If you're somewhat adventurous with food and like trying bits of everything, this experience is for you. The quality of food was perfection! The table was set beautifully with such vibrant foods as part of the decor. And the service was prompt, attentive and warm. My only critique is that the sommelier who was conducting the wine pairing option was speaking way too quickly to understand the information about the selected wines. I one million percent will be returning!

This was our second visit to FLX table, having dined here during a Finger Lakes visit in 2022…read more During our visit then, we were seated at separate tables that were arranged in the room in a u-shape. I guess this was a post-covid precaution as during this visit we sat at one large table with all dinners booked for our reserved time. It was fine with us, but just something to be aware of. Service upon arrival and throughout the meal was great; we were greeted and sat right away and offered the options of sparkling, still or tap water. Once all guest were sat they explained the farm board (which to me is the best part of the meal- a mix of dips and dippers). The garlic rosemary focaccia and curry butter are the stand outs and we bought some focaccia next door to take home with us at the end of the night. There was a variety of vegetables to dip and bowls of fruit on the table to choose from. They leave the farm board on the table throughout your meal to pick from. They also offered the different wine pairings- we went with the notorious option and were offered to sub in wines from a list provided. We opted to go with the pre-selected options which paired well with all of the dishes. Our menu then included a turo (tuna) dish, a potato dish that I dubbed a fancy loaded potato (roasted and smashed potato with raclette, bacon, etc) which was the standout of the meal. Our main was a roast duck dish with a sprouted lentil salad. Both were good separately but the salad was overly acidic and took a bit away from the duck. We finished with a panacotta which was also good. Overall another excellent meal from start to finish.
