Been hearing a lot of buzz about the Japanese fluffy pancakes craze, currently not offered in my hometown in NorCal. Visited my buddies in SoCal recently, who raved about Fluffy Fluffy. Had to opportunity to check this place out prior to our trek back to NorCal, immediately following AYCE shabu, and I'm glad I didn't pass up on the opportunity, given that my stomach has seemingly reached full capacity. As we entered, we were gifted the pleasure of a warm greeting by a staff member who then sat us down and gave us first-timers a brief overview of the menu, his recommendations, and a brief history lesson about the origin of Fluffy Fluffy. After some waiting, we were presented with three aesthetically pleasing plates of these highly hyped fluffy pancakes. I then grabbed a knife and fork to cut into the stack of pancakes and was astonished by how... for a lack of better word, fluffy they were. Upon first bite, I expected a rush of sugar to register after a few seconds of chewing. However, that sensation never came. The pancakes were just the right level of sweet. A few minutes later, the plates were completely cleared and I was back to suffering from again reaching full capacity and thought to myself, "when will I ever learn?". All in all, great hospitality from staff, clean and upbeat ambiance, and most importantly excellent dessert items that were easy to consume without the feeling of developing instantaneous diabetes after finishing. Ehh-not sure how I feel about it. The soufflé was decent-got their matcha tiramisu and it wasn't too sweet or bland. I also ordered their waffle salmon sandwich-it came with fries and salad-large portion but wasn't impressive. The restaurant was empty and we had to wait awhile for the cashier to come out to help us-even though there's a little window that I can hear as well as see the chef and cashier talking. They don't lean into it but I could see this being a good place to bring a laptop and be productive with some great snacks and drinks along the way. There are outlets along one wall (the right wall as you enter) and there is WiFi but you need to ask about it. Service from Daniel Y was great, available when needed but stayed quiet and out of the way. I selected the Signature Soufflé Pancakes which comes with berries and cream. These were great to look at with a flavor to match. The cream and berries were enough sweetness with the pancakes themselves that I didn't even touch the syrup that came with it. Seeing the other topping options I don't think I would use syrup for those either. Dustings with tiramisu or matcha sound appealing, but I could see myself trying them all (other than the classic which has none at all). My pancakes were slightly undercooked, too moist on the inside, but I know how hard it is to prepare these and don't hold it too harshly against the cook. A nice sweet treat! Came in around 8pm on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. The interior is cute and picturesque. The soufflé pancakes themselves were nice and fluffy! We got the matcha tiramisu and I love matcha but the matcha they used was more on the rough and gritty side. Other than that, I really liked the cream on top! Such a cute brunch and dessert spot! The interior is decorated in soothing pastels and warm lighting with hip music that keeps the environment lively. The Oreo soufflé pancake was the best one I've ever had, hands down. The best balance of sweet and salty, and your spoon slides right though the pancake so easily. It's just the right amount of soft! Service was friendly and helpful, as we ordered the wrong item but they were willing to remake it for us and we paid the difference. For our first visit, we tried: Signature Souffle Pancakes: Got that lovely jiggle jiggle and fluffy texture that is so delightful. Not too sweet, and I like that you can customize sweetness with the syrup on the side. Would order again! Ham and Cheese Savory Croffle: Absolutely loved the texture of the croffle and savoriness thanks to the condiments, ham, and cheese. Comes with a small side salad and tasty waffle cut fries. A must for anyone who loves savory croffles! Cute little shop located in the shopping center. I love fluffy Japanese pancake since the first time I had it a few years ago. Trying to find a good one was a challenge since the first time I had it was in Asia. Since looking in the California, I have yet to find an amazing one. This place was pretty good. Got the Oreo flavor fluffy pancake. There was a little bit of a wait (as expected). I had taken it to-go. When I got home, I did enjoy it. I do think that it may be better if i had it at the spot. This was a very fun dining experience with a very bright atmosphere and fun food options. The man working at the register offered a lot of helpful recommendations and helped walk us through the different options on the menu. I had learned from previous experiences that these do take some time to make (approximately 10-20min) so plan for a little bit longer of a dessert/food experience. The inside of the restaurant was full of vibrant colors and decorations. We ordered the Nutella banana soufflé pancakes with vanilla ice cream on the side. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The ice cream was a great addition and went well with the other parts of the dish. Love me some soufflé pancakes so had to check this place out. At first glimpse, it's got a pretty good variety of pancakes to pick from and waffles. You order inside and can sit inside or out. After a 20-25 minute wait comes your pancakes. I won't lie, the pancakes were a bit deflated and not warm so the butter added didn't really melt. They are primarily known for their soufflé pancakes but I decided to go a different direction and ordered an Oreo Cruffle. What's a cruffle you may ask? Thanks for the question. It looks like a small waffle and is crunchy-crispy on the outside but buttery & soft on the inside. It's a waffle and a croissant at the same time! This one had a thin layer of whipped cream and sprinkles of Oreo cookie on top as well as two halves of an Oreo. It wasn't overly sweet but deliciously wonderful as a small dessert treat. I liked that actual silverware (or in this case "goldware") was provided to eat this cruffle. I also ordered an iced salted caramel latte. The light sweetness of the caramel flavor was there as well as a hint of saltiness. This drink delivered what it promised; I appreciated that the taste was spot on. The smiling young woman who took my order and delivered it to my table was very friendly and provided textbook perfect customer service. I haven't had soufflé pancakes and these hit the spot. For both pancakes, the batter was airy and fluffy but with a structure strong enough to hold the toppings. The signature premium pancakes were refreshing since they came topped with cream and an assortment of fruit. It also came with syrup but it's definitely not necessary. The tiramisu deluxe pancakes were also topped with cream and dusted with cocoa powder. The base was the same as the signature and it came with a chocolate sauce instead. There was no coffee flavor present so it seemed more like a chocolate pancake than tiramisu. Don't skip out on the croffles. I got the signature which only came with cream but that's all you need. The croffle itself is super buttery, flaky, and slightly crispy on the exterior. I didn't expect to take more than one bite because I thought it'd be rich but it was too good to resist. I'm also so glad I got the fuwa fuwa latte because it wasn't sweet at all. I think it would've been sugar overload if I had a sweet dessert with a sweet drink. It balanced out well with the pancakes and croffle. The yuzu refresher was calling my name so I also ordered that and it did not disappoint. I was so surprised to find that they included real yuzu. There's plenty of seating inside and even outside seating. I loved the inside more since the decorations are beautiful and they offer water. We went during grand opening weekend to try the Japanese style soufflé pancake. There were some outdoor patio seating as well as indoor seating. There wasn't wait when we arrived, and there were signs posted by the register: 1. The only drinks available that day were the refreshers, no latte, frappe, and matcha drinks. 2. Soufflé pancakes take 20-25 minutes. At the time of order, the server commented it'll take 30 minutes or longer, but we got our order within 30. We tried the signature soufflé pancakes ($14.99) with whipped cream, slices of banana, strawberries, blueberries, and a side of syrup. Fluffy's version of soufflé pancakes was more like a thicker pancake, but it did not rise tall to a typical soufflé pancake height. Flavor wise, it was not sweet; texture wise, it tasted like a dense sponge cake, not light, fluffy, nor jiggly. Overall, I was not impressed with this dessert, nor did the pancake justify the high price tag. Definitely, there's room for improvement. It basically has blueberries, starwberries, bananas, and cream with a side of honey. The pancakes were fluffy by very flat. They didnt puff up and rise like they should have. They had a slight jiggle to them but nothing like the ones I had in Japan. The pancakes was very egg-y and the batter wasnt mixed all the way because there were some egg whites still visible in the middle. The fruits were really sour and wasnt sweet at all. Knowing that they have long waits for pancakes there should something for guests (especially children) to do. Whether that be board games, a TV, just something. We ordered a cookies and creme croffle and Nutella banana soufflé. On this day the sign and cashier indicated a 25 min wait. We waited 45min for the croffle and almost 1 hour (2:15-3:12) for the soufflé. A group before us left before receiving their food because of the wait. When we got the croffle it was cold and not what I expected from other croissant waffles I've had before. I would not recommend them here. The soufflé seemed rushed and not very fluffy. I went to Fluffy Fluffy grand opening on Sunday and it wasn't too crowded being the second day. This is a Japanese souffle pancake place. My first one in the US so I'm excited to try. Service was good even when they're so busy. Tiramisu Souffle 5/5 - The souffle was fluffy, jiggly, and melt in your mouth just the way I wanted it to be. The flavor was so yummy. Eating this filled me with happiness ^^ Cookies and Cream Souffle 4.5/5 - Surprisingly, this souffle was part of the same order and came out at the same time but it was flat. It still tasted good but not my jiggly pancake and a bit denser. Strawberry Refresher 5/5 - This drink was very refreshing and the sweetness level was just right. In the past, I've stopped by for an Iced Salted Caramel Iced Latte and found it to be pretty decent, which was why I wanted to grab the same order again and try some food items I assumed would be on par. I've tried soufflés at a few different restaurants in Irvine and I have to admit that this soufflé was unfortunately the worst I've had so far due to its consistency and overpowering eggy taste. The oreo croffle was definitely better, but simply decent overall. It was surprisingly light. I also ordered the Iced Salted Caramel Latte extra sweet with creamy foam & it was unfortunately very underwhelming. As you may be able to tell, the cream was overflowing, so the drink was dripping which was inconvenient, but nothing major. What was unfortunate was that the foam was not sweet, nor was the drink itself despite me ordering it extra sweet. I do have to make mention that the service was great and the employees were very kind. We arrived at a quite busy hour and there seemed to be minimal employees working during this time, yet we received our food items at an appropriate time.
