The service experience was fairly minimal, as ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, customers are notified by text when their food is ready, and pickup is at the counter. While efficient, it felt impersonal and lacked hospitality. We ordered the Black Pepper Beef Toast ($9.95) and the Original Egg Pancake ($7.95). The Black Pepper Beef Toast was underwhelming as the bread was dry/flaky, and the beef portion felt sparse and unevenly distributed throughout the sandwich. This is one item I would skip on a future visit. The Original Egg Pancake was also disappointing. The cucumbers placed on top made the pancake soggy almost immediately, even when eaten right away. Texture-wise, it leaned more chewy and mochi-like rather than crispy which wasn't what I was expecting. It also came with very little sauce; a small side portion would have gone a long way in improving the dish. Saw this on Yelp and was intrigued. Had the day off so figured I would give it a shot. There's just one employee who's the cook so you order at the tablet and you're texted when your order is ready. There's also nowhere to sit. There's two counters and some odd table sculpture thing but no stools or chairs. Very unwelcoming and odd. I ordered the oolong black tea and "Dan Bing" which is a Taiwanese pancake with egg plus different filling choices. I went with kimchi and cheese. I finally saw a human when my order was ready which didn't take too long. There's a communal patio which Peet's coffee customers take all of it. There was one crappy table in full sun and no chair. I had to ask another table if I could have a chair. As other reviewers mention the looks are deceiving. The tiny take out container was really heavy. For the price this was a great portion and I was pleasantly full. This meal was love at first bite! It looked like a crepe but thicker and had a chewy mochi like texture. It was LOADED with cheese and the kimchi was delightfully sour. I loved every bite and was sad when I finished. Some reviews don't like the texture but I thought it was great. I seriously can't wait to return and try the BBQ pork one. They also have sandwiches and rice plates. The tea was fantastic. Really potent roasted flavor. Have been heavily craving this Taiwanese breakfast pancake ever since my friend recommended it to me recently. I feel like this dish is hard to find in OC, especially one as good as this! I got the bbq pork and loved it so much- it's made fresh to order, saucy, sweet, and comes with a lot of meat and side of cucumbers. Would really recommend this one but am excited to come back to try all their other different fillings. The only thing I would add is they're card only and their hours are pretty tight as they close at 2-3 PM, but it makes sense since it's breakfast food. There's actually very little interactions with the staff because everything is ordered through a kiosk or on your phone with a QR code. Ever since I discovered (or seemingly, rediscovered) my love for Taiwanese breakfast, I've been on a mission of sorts to try it from as many places as possible whenever I'm in Orange County. Because, as much as I love SF/the Bay Area, it'd fair to say that the Taiwanese food scene in NorCal is rather lacking. The next stop on the list? L'uxweet, the self proclaimed "Taiwanese Breakfast Specialist" that we had heard so many good things about! Even though we were warned ahead of time that this place was closer to a boba shop/cafe than a full on restaurant, we were still more than happy to come here (I'm used to taking what I can get in SF). Inside, the look of this place is pretty typical, with a couple of kiosks for you to order from and some counter space/seating. However, it's awesome how there's a bunch of tables right outside for you to enjoy your order (to be fair, they might actually be for the Peet's next door, but we saw customers from both). More importantly, the menu is pretty solid, offering a range of toasts, dan bing, rice boxes, and noodle bowls to go with their selection of teas, milk teas, and lattes. -- L'UXWEET MILK TEA Ehh...there was nothing "bad" about this one, but it wasn't all that special either. The sweetness in this was fine (50%) and I liked the milky consistency to this. That said, the taste of the tea didn't really stand out in any way, so this felt a little generic. -- OSMANTHUS OOLONG MILK TEA I normally don't order milk teas with oolong, as I find it to be a little too strong, but this was actually pretty decent. The tea didn't overpower everything and it had a nice sweet (50%) and creamy balance that I enjoyed. -- (E2) HOUSE BBQ PORK EGG PANCAKE - Taiwanese Style Egg Pancake with Green Onion, Egg, House Soy Sauce, and Cucumber Pretty decent overall. Although I wish the pancake had been crispier (it was a bit gummy), the overall portion was pretty fair and I liked the BBQ pork they used. Plus, I loved how the cucumbers and their house soy helped to balance each other. -- (R2) SIGNATURE PORK BELLY RICE with Egg, Cabbage, Cucumber, and House Sauce Not bad, but not as good as I hoped for either. While the pork belly was decently flavorful, some of the meat was a little dry, it was on the fatty side, and there wasn't as much sauce as I would've liked. Also, the cabbage was pretty good, but I wish the egg had been larger... Now, to be fair, based on what I had previously heard about L'uxweet and what I had read from the reviews from friends on Yelp, I feel like there's a decent chance we didn't order the right things and/or that we came on a bad day. At the same time, it seems like the food here was consistently better before than how it is now. Either way, it's definitely better to have a place like this around than not (I'd happily take them if they were to sprout up in SF). Decided to give this place another try. I definitely believe it has improved from the last time. There is now ordering kiosk in the front so you can look at pictures and customize comfortably. There are also combo specials too that come with a drink. The soy old fashioned milk tea was actually really good. The pancake was cooked much better and I liked it way more than the toast. I don't think I'll be doing another toast sandwich. The pancake has a nice chew to it and it wasn't soggy. Food came out in about 15 mins. I would also recommend to order ahead through the phone or Grubhub since it does take about 30 minutes for them to call your name. There's no seating inside so you either have to stand by inside or sit outside and watch them to make sure they don't miss you. The ham toast was a little bit too dry for me but once you get to the center, it's the perfect ratio of bread and the filling. My order was ready by the time I scheduled which was nice. I got the house bbq pork pancake and a pork belly rice bowl. Both came out to $24 and was filling enough for the 2 of us. Both dishes were actually so good!! The bbq pork pancake was well seasoned with the sauce, soft and chewy texture with a lot of egg. This isn't crispy so if you don't like a chewy pancake you probably won't like this. Portion wise, at first I thought it was a little small but for $8.50 and sharing it was a decent amount! The pork belly bowl was $15.50 and just had rice, pork belly slices, an egg, some cucumber and cabbage. Pork was super flavorful and super tender. We loved the cabbage that probably just had chicken bouillon seasoning but it was so good lol. The cucumbers it comes with was meh, it's not really pickled and moreso sweet. Note: no restroom at this place. The staff told me there are restrooms at the Grocery Outlet. (I went over there and was informed they don't have public restrooms.) Not a good situation. I've never had this type of breakfast before and was intrigued to taste their food. Their pancakes were unique. I enjoyed the chewy soft texture compared to other regular pancakes. I also tried their sandwiches, which was served on toasted bread. They were okay. When I was ordering, I asked the staff what was her favorite sweet entrée. Came here for a quick breakfast. I saw they had the taiwanese pancake and really wanted to try it. I ordered the Bbq pork egg pancake, Black sesame soy milk & wintermelon oolong tea. The bbq pork pancake was tasty! It came with pickled cucumbers and a sweet and savory soy sauce. The pork tasted like kbbq meat with that charred meat taste. The pancake has a strong egg taste and it was light and fluffy. I prefer the crepe pancake with a crispy texture but overall it was pretty good. The black sesame soy milk with boba was a bit too sweet for us. The wintermelon oolong was semi sweet and it was really refreshing with the wintermelon tea taste. read more

Ate here with a friend, this was fine. We got 1. taiwanese style egg pancake - house bbq pork - flavorful wouldn't mind getting this again 2. breakfast toast - honey citron chicken (which we were told is provence chicken which is more plain, with additional sauce) 2 can skip, would do house bbq pork for both. It was flavored but not particularly notably great. Had to sit outside and it could be chilly depending on temp / wind. Shared seating with the coffee place, people with dogs, etc seem to be common. Overall, unique, interesting, good, but not at the top tier where I'm super eager to eat it again although I enjoyed it. read more

Man where do I start with this place. Best boba I've had and the cheesecake they used to have was really good but I do miss customer service instead of a computer. Overall very great place. They have outdoor seating too. Nice Ambiance. read more
