Have been heavily craving this Taiwanese breakfast pancake ever since my friend recommended it to me recently. I feel like this dish is hard to find in OC, especially one as good as this! I got the bbq pork and loved it so much- it's made fresh to order, saucy, sweet, and comes with a lot of meat and side of cucumbers. Would really recommend this one but am excited to come back to try all their other different fillings. The only thing I would add is they're card only and their hours are pretty tight as they close at 2-3 PM, but it makes sense since it's breakfast food. I feel like I would just crave this at every hour of the day because it's so good. It was empty when I visited which made me sad, everyone go support!
The self service kiosk is very user friendly. Plus, the guy at the front was available to answer any and all our questions. We ordered...... T1 House BBQ Pork Toast w/egg, cucumber, tomato, Mayo, Pepper, Ketchup. This is the best sandwich! T5 Provence Chicken Toast it comes w/egg, cucumber, tomato, Mayo, Pepper, Ketchup. The chicken wasn't dry like some other sandwiches that have chicken. E7 Basil BBQ Pork Dan Bing - this is pretty good! It has like a mochi (glutinous rice cake) type thing wrapped around their signature pork. R1 House BBQ Rice comes w/rice, egg, cabbage, cucumber, house sauce The cucumber and the cabbage that came with the rice bowl needs some kind of flavor/sauce or something. Maybe if the cucumbers were pickled Asian style it might be pretty good. But it was just plain sliced cucumbers. Meh! All the pork is super tender and very tasty! Overall, very good and totally worth checking out! I know we'll definitely be back!

Gave this place a try for lunch and sadly it was underwhelming. The crepe was really soggy despite eating it less than 5 mins from receiving our order. It's on the sweeter side so I recommend asking for less or no sauce if you do not like sweet and salty combo. The black tea with soy milk was not my cup of tea. I think it's the type of soy milk they used, it does not taste like taiwanese soy milk.
I had very high expectations because I don't get many opportunities to eat Taiwanese food but I was disappointed with the wait times and the food. There's actually very little interactions with the staff because everything is ordered through a kiosk or on your phone with a QR code. Even though there weren't that many people in front of us, the food still took about 30 minutes. For something as simple as dan bings! Despite the long wait time, I was still hopeful that the food would be good. House BBQ Pork Egg Pancake: The BBQ Pork flavor was good but I wasn't expecting everything else to be so gelatinous. The texture is best described as undercooked dough? Besides that, it wasn't too bad overall. Signature Pork Belly Rice: Otherwise known as lu rou fan but theirs tasted different. The sauce with the rice is a big component of lu rou fan and it wasn't that flavorful. The only thing that stood out was a strong star anise flavor. Also, the slabs of pork belly were not tender at all. Even the fatty pieces were tough. Overall, this was a disappointing meal. I could be convinced to come try some of their other egg pancakes but I would not recommend the Pork Belly Rice.
I was really excited to try this place, but both the food and wait time fell short of expectation. Arrived on a Saturday morning to a line of about 6 customers waiting. You can feel everyone was frustrated, and one customer said everyone has been waiting for more than 20 mins. The one staff working at the front was overwhelmed, could tell the place was very understaffed. He still had a really nice attitude, which was very nice of him given how much work he had. My party ordered one Dan bien and one sandwich. The Dan bien wasn't very good- it was overly starchy and didn't have enough egg. The sandwich was just decent. There is no indoor sitting, but does have an outdoor garden with tables. Overall, likely won't return
Hearty breakfast for $10. The pancake was not my personal fav - it was a bit soggy/ chewy/ added mochi flour. I like the crispy kind.
O really wish Yelp would let us do 4.5*. Things not amazing food but it's very good for the price. I had their original egg pancake. It was very well done although I probably prefer the thinner crepe-style pancakes at Bing Mi (Portland). But don't get me wrong- I very much enjoyed the one I got here and also quite happy they open early. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area
Ever since I discovered (or seemingly, rediscovered) my love for Taiwanese breakfast, I've been on a mission of sorts to try it from as many places as possible whenever I'm in Orange County. Because, as much as I love SF/the Bay Area, it'd fair to say that the Taiwanese food scene in NorCal is rather lacking. The next stop on the list? L'uxweet, the self proclaimed "Taiwanese Breakfast Specialist" that we had heard so many good things about! Even though we were warned ahead of time that this place was closer to a boba shop/cafe than a full on restaurant, we were still more than happy to come here (I'm used to taking what I can get in SF). Inside, the look of this place is pretty typical, with a couple of kiosks for you to order from and some counter space/seating. However, it's awesome how there's a bunch of tables right outside for you to enjoy your order (to be fair, they might actually be for the Peet's next door, but we saw customers from both). More importantly, the menu is pretty solid, offering a range of toasts, dan bing, rice boxes, and noodle bowls to go with their selection of teas, milk teas, and lattes. -- L'UXWEET MILK TEA Ehh...there was nothing "bad" about this one, but it wasn't all that special either. The sweetness in this was fine (50%) and I liked the milky consistency to this. That said, the taste of the tea didn't really stand out in any way, so this felt a little generic. -- OSMANTHUS OOLONG MILK TEA I normally don't order milk teas with oolong, as I find it to be a little too strong, but this was actually pretty decent. The tea didn't overpower everything and it had a nice sweet (50%) and creamy balance that I enjoyed. -- (E2) HOUSE BBQ PORK EGG PANCAKE - Taiwanese Style Egg Pancake with Green Onion, Egg, House Soy Sauce, and Cucumber Pretty decent overall. Although I wish the pancake had been crispier (it was a bit gummy), the overall portion was pretty fair and I liked the BBQ pork they used. Plus, I loved how the cucumbers and their house soy helped to balance each other. -- (R2) SIGNATURE PORK BELLY RICE with Egg, Cabbage, Cucumber, and House Sauce Not bad, but not as good as I hoped for either. While the pork belly was decently flavorful, some of the meat was a little dry, it was on the fatty side, and there wasn't as much sauce as I would've liked. Also, the cabbage was pretty good, but I wish the egg had been larger... Now, to be fair, based on what I had previously heard about L'uxweet and what I had read from the reviews from friends on Yelp, I feel like there's a decent chance we didn't order the right things and/or that we came on a bad day. At the same time, it seems like the food here was consistently better before than how it is now. Either way, it's definitely better to have a place like this around than not (I'd happily take them if they were to sprout up in SF). At some point, I'll come back to see how more of the menu tastes, but in the mean time, on to the next Taiwanese breakfast spot to discover! THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.
I was in the area and decided to try out a new spot for lunch. I got the original egg pancake and the house BBQ pancake, and both were so filling. They were generous with the meat but it was a bit more on the fatty side. No complaints about the pancake, but a very crispy one would also be nice. There was outdoor seating right next to the establishment, shared with the other businesses in the same plaza. Lots of parking too, so no need to worry about that. Dinging it 1 point because the wait times were borderline ridiculous. I went on a Sunday afternoon, with only one party of 2 ahead of me, but even then the wait time took 20-30 minutes.
Decided to give this place another try. I definitely believe it has improved from the last time. There is now ordering kiosk in the front so you can look at pictures and customize comfortably. There are also combo specials too that come with a drink. The soy old fashioned milk tea was actually really good. The pancake was cooked much better and I liked it way more than the toast. I don't think I'll be doing another toast sandwich. The pancake has a nice chew to it and it wasn't soggy. Food came out in about 15 mins. I'd definitely be back for more pancakes and soy milk tea!
This is a wonderful place! It's cute charm, warm and friendly customer service to affordable but so tasty food offerings I will definitely be coming here more often! Today was my first visit and we tried the kimcheese pancake and pork bowl. Both were very generous portion sizes and we loved the flavors! Absolutely a great spot that's affordable, fast, friendly and of course delicious!!!
Boba shop vibes, pretty chill and food comes out fast. The bbq egg pancake is more like sweetened pork stir fried (beef like) than the red bbq pork. It has the softened tender texture. The pickles are good. Decent portion. It is quite soft and sweet tasting. I expected inside to have more toppings like lettuce and crunchy stuff and sauces so its not the most authentic. Some patio seating and good parking.
Not sure where else you can get a meal like this in the area. After finding this place on Yelp, I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of it sooner, especially since it's been around for a while. It's a small cafe where you order from the kiosk, and our food was ready in about 10 minutes. It's definitely more of a takeout spot since it was mostly self-service. There are a few bar seats inside, but it's pretty quiet, so we usually grab one of the outdoor tables shared with the neighboring shops. I've ordered the house BBQ pork egg pancake a couple of times now, and it's what keeps bringing me back. The pancake is much chewier than a traditional scallion pancake, almost like mochi, with a savory, satisfying bite. The grilled BBQ pork is tender, flavorful, and coated in a delicious sauce. It's also a generous portion that easily fills you up and had me craving it again for brunch after my first visit. On my most recent visit, I tried the signature pork belly rice and was surprised by how tender the thick pieces of pork belly were. The meat was well-marinated and full of flavor, and it came with a generous serving of rice to balance it out. It's another hearty and filling plate that came with a side of a boiled egg, cabbage, and pickled cucumbers. I also never skip the soy milk, which is refreshing alongside the rich flavors of the meal. It's nothing fancy, but if you're looking for a unique, satisfying meal that's hard to find elsewhere in the area, this spot is definitely worth trying. read more
Unfortunately left feeling disappointed after being excited to try L'uxweet. The service experience was fairly minimal, as ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, customers are notified by text when their food is ready, and pickup is at the counter. While efficient, it felt impersonal and lacked hospitality. We ordered the Black Pepper Beef Toast ($9.95) and the Original Egg Pancake ($7.95). The Black Pepper Beef Toast was underwhelming as the bread was dry/flaky, and the beef portion felt sparse and unevenly distributed throughout the sandwich. This is one item I would skip on a future visit. The Original Egg Pancake was also disappointing. The cucumbers placed on top made the pancake soggy almost immediately, even when eaten right away. Texture-wise, it leaned more chewy and mochi-like rather than crispy which wasn't what I was expecting. It also came with very little sauce; a small side portion would have gone a long way in improving the dish. Overall, the food didn't quite live up to the hype, and neither item left a strong impression. read more
Saw this on Yelp and was intrigued. Had the day off so figured I would give it a shot. There's just one employee who's the cook so you order at the tablet and you're texted when your order is ready. There's also nowhere to sit. There's two counters and some odd table sculpture thing but no stools or chairs. Very unwelcoming and odd. I ordered the oolong black tea and "Dan Bing" which is a Taiwanese pancake with egg plus different filling choices. I went with kimchi and cheese. I finally saw a human when my order was ready which didn't take too long. There's a communal patio which Peet's coffee customers take all of it. There was one crappy table in full sun and no chair. I had to ask another table if I could have a chair. As other reviewers mention the looks are deceiving. The tiny take out container was really heavy. For the price this was a great portion and I was pleasantly full. This meal was love at first bite! It looked like a crepe but thicker and had a chewy mochi like texture. It was LOADED with cheese and the kimchi was delightfully sour. I loved every bite and was sad when I finished. Some reviews don't like the texture but I thought it was great. I seriously can't wait to return and try the BBQ pork one. They also have sandwiches and rice plates. The tea was fantastic. Really potent roasted flavor. Unfortunately I didn't realize it was sweetened. The tablet lets you adjust sweetness but the guy behind me was waiting to order so I felt rushed and didn't notice. This is one of my most favorite places to get breakfast from in all of OC. It's best if you place the order ahead of time via their website to minimize wait time. My favorite is the pancakes with BBQ Pork + basil. It's so savory and delicious. I can never have enough of them or get sick of it. There are some seatings inside and also outside in the courtyard area to the left of Peet's Coffee. I am looking forward to returning again in the future. read more
I'm so happy that I found this place! It's an affordable Taiwanese breakfast spot and I highly recommend the bbq pork pancake. I would also recommend to order ahead through the phone or Grubhub since it does take about 30 minutes for them to call your name. There's no seating inside so you either have to stand by inside or sit outside and watch them to make sure they don't miss you. The ham toast was a little bit too dry for me but once you get to the center, it's the perfect ratio of bread and the filling. I'm absolutely obsessed with the bbq pork pancake though, it's so chewy and flavorful and I can't wait to get this again. The tea was also refreshing with all the food. We got 50% sweetness and it was just right! read more

Came back years later and still love it! They have updated their menu to have dan bing and breakfast sandwiches, all of which have very Taiwanese flavors and combinations. I love that they have so many options and that it comes in the classic paper box you get in Taiwan. Still recommend and will be back! read more
A grab and go type of breakfast place, but be forewarned, it does take a while to get your order if you don't order ahead. Saw this place on a few social media posts and decided to try it out. When you enter, there are tablets that you use to order and pay. You'll then get a text when your order is ready. Very "self-serve". We got the BBQ Pork pancake and BBQ Pork toast, among other sandwiches and toasts. TBH, they all taste pretty similar but they're generally good and very filling. Worth a try but will I go out of my way to come back? Depends on if I want a carb heavy meal (if yes, I'll be back). Interior is clean and staff is friendly. Parking lot was pretty open when I visited but I can see it filing up since there's many nearby shops. read more
My friend and I stopped by for Taiwanese breakfast before driving to LA over the weekend. I ordered online in advance for us, and the dan bing were ready for pickup by the time we arrived. We enjoyed them on L'uxweet's outdoor patio. I got the original dan bing with pork floss added as a filling and really liked it. I also tried some of friend's house bbq pork dan bing, and it too was yummy. Only thing I would change is I wish the crêpe were thinner like in Taiwan. Thinner crêpes would make this Taiwanese breakfast staple in OC perfect. read more

We heard good things from a friend that's been so we wanted to give it a try. Upon entering the place is small and there's only outdoor seating in a patio area that's open to all people in the plaza. I ended up placing an order online because I read from other helpers that it does take some time for your food to come out. Pickup was smooth! My order was ready by the time I scheduled which was nice. I got the house bbq pork pancake and a pork belly rice bowl. Both came out to $24 and was filling enough for the 2 of us. Both dishes were actually so good!! The bbq pork pancake was well seasoned with the sauce, soft and chewy texture with a lot of egg. This isn't crispy so if you don't like a chewy pancake you probably won't like this. Portion wise, at first I thought it was a little small but for $8.50 and sharing it was a decent amount! The pork belly bowl was $15.50 and just had rice, pork belly slices, an egg, some cucumber and cabbage. Pork was super flavorful and super tender. We loved the cabbage that probably just had chicken bouillon seasoning but it was so good lol. The cucumbers it comes with was meh, it's not really pickled and moreso sweet. Overall we were very satisfied with both dishes! I highly recommend to place an order on their website so you don't have to wait there. Recommend trying the dishes we got and I can't wait to go back to try different pancake flavors. Already waiting for the next time I can go back. read more

Grew up coming here to have an after school snack with my mom :) I LOVE getting their tuna corn or kimchi cheese taiwanese egg pancake (that's all i come here for). The skin of the pancake is so chewy and I love the texture. Service has been on the slower side, but people are friendly. There also removed indoor seating so everyone sits on patio (clean). Will go again for sure! read more
I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time. I was stopping by the grocery store nearby and decided to order some breakfast to go. Plenty of parking available in this little center. You can order at the kiosk, which was fine because it had pictures to provide visuals of what their food look like. The staff was nearby and answered some of my questions as well. Note: no restroom at this place. The staff told me there are restrooms at the Grocery Outlet. (I went over there and was informed they don't have public restrooms.) Not a good situation. I've never had this type of breakfast before and was intrigued to taste their food. Their pancakes were unique. I enjoyed the chewy soft texture compared to other regular pancakes. I also tried their sandwiches, which was served on toasted bread. They were okay. When I was ordering, I asked the staff what was her favorite sweet entrée. She informed me that they only have savory dishes here. Overall, the flavors were a bit bland and I used some sriracha at home to give it a little kick. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some other dishes if I was in the area. read more

Growing up in Taiwan, picking up a dan bing on my way to school was part of my morning routine. So imagine my joy when I discovered an incredible dan bing at L'uxweet -- I was SO happy! We ordered the Basil BBQ Pork Dan Bing, and it was perfect. The portion was generous -- easily enough for two people -- and they didn't skimp on the BBQ pork. The basil added a fresh, aromatic touch that elevated the entire dish. But what really stood out was the dam bing texture: perfectly balanced between chewy and soft, and incredibly fresh. Honestly, I'd say it's even better than the dan bing I had back in Taiwan. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back and try more! read more

I used to love this place when they first opened. But the food has dropped in quality, and the service is so-so. Food: 3/5 for the area, it isn't anything special these days. Service: 2/5 it's a self order kiosk but I came in and after ordering with no one else in the line. I just saw people sitting around doing nothing. Pretty great meal for the price! Keep in mind there's only outdoor seating, but it you don't want to sit in hot weather they prepare your food to go. You order on a kiosk and have food prepared by cooks in the back. Their egg pancakes have a fluffy texture, almost akin to a French toast. It makes for a yummy light meal. read more
i've been looking for a good taiwanese bfast place near irvine and lemme tell you... THIS PLACE IS LEGIT!! upon entering everything makes you feel like you're back in taiwan. my friend and i ordered the toast + dan bing + drink combo which was $24, a little pricey but worth it. we got the patty beef toast, house bbq pork egg pancake, and old fashion black tea. my fav was def the toast but the egg pancake was also delicious and the portion size is very filling!! i'm coming back here for sure :) read more

PARKING: Parking lot in the plaza and next to a Grocery Outlet. Didn't have any issues finding parking. ORDERING: Small shop where you can order on a tablet or with a person. The menu is straightforward and they also have drinks! FOOD: Food was good! Made to order so it was fresh. The drinks weren't bad and paired well. This was my first time having a Taiwanese pancake and it was different. I thought the pancake would be crispier, but it wasn't. The flavors were good and I enjoyed trying it! One order was pretty filling - I probably couldn't shared one order with another person. SEATING: No seating inside! There are some tables located outside that are shared with the rest of the plaza. BATHROOMS: None! Guests have to go to the Peet's or Grocery Outlet. Plan accordingly! read more

Saturday morning breakfast, a few people in line and a lot of orders in the queue. There is no seating inside but plenty of tables in the patio area. Ordered a chicken toast and a pork pancake. The toast, I think they bake their own break it comes with sauce, veggies meat and eggs. Pretty good and hearty breakfast sandwich. The chicken could have used some more seasoning but it was fine as a cohesive bite. The bbq pork pancake was the better option as it was very hearty, and seasoned well. The semi think egg pancake has a little chew and the pork was thin with sauce. Overall a great place for a breakfast. read more
