Lockers

The overall reviews are mostly because it is a ghost kitchen with only two menu items priced at $18 each. Parking can be limiting as there's only a few spots in front with a parking lot in the back (depending on time of arrival it could be full). I ordered the Salted Butter Corn Cheese Shokupan and was not impressed. The top layer is crunchy and nicely seasoned, however the corn may be a bit off putting for those that are not used to the small pieces within the filling. You definitely need to warm them up for a better taste. Based on pricing and limited options, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it from here. Per a ghost kitchen, it seemed empty with a somewhat fast service from order time to "delivery" (time to put in locker). I would find an alternative Japanese bakery that gives a more authentic atmosphere with more selection.

The bread from here was sooo delicious! I just placed my order online and picked it up from the locker at the ghost kitchen so it was a super easy process. The packaging is so cute and each item comes with a card on the most recommended say to eat it. I loved the matcha because it had mochi inside of it. Overall great experience and i would love to come back and gift it to people too!

I had this ordered a week in advance for pick up in the Bay Area and it probably changed my life. It was so good. Texture, saltiness, butter, everything was perfect. What I really enjoyed is the instructions on how to perfectly warm it up. I will be back for you salted butter shokupan!!! Btw u can trust me bc I'm a self proclaimed bread connoisseur :)

Ginza Nishikawa is a renowned bakery famous for its shokupan (bread); its main store is located in Ginza, near Tokyo Station in Japan. And the U.S. branch is located in Santa Ana, California. When I arrived after searching for the Santa Ana branch on Google, I initially thought I had come to the wrong place because there was no Ginza Nishikawa signage on the building. As it turned out, the building featured a sign reading "South Coast Take Out," and the facility housed a shared kitchen utilized by several restaurants--including Ginza Nishikawa--operating exclusively for takeout orders. I had actually come with the expectation of watching the bread-making process and selecting my bread while savoring the savory aroma of fresh baking in the shop; however, upon arrival, I found--contrary to my expectations--only an ordering kiosk and a set of numbered lockers for order pickup. Although I was disappointed by the absence of a traditional bakery storefront, the Ginza Nishikawa bread I enjoyed after returning home proved to be the most delicious bread I have ever tasted. I definitely plan to visit the Main Store in Ginza the next time I travel to Tokyo. The bread is a true work of art! It's expensive, but absolutely delicious!

I stopped by Ginza Nishikawa to try their shokupan. At first, I was a bit thrown off and I didn't realize it was located inside a ghost kitchen, so it took me a minute to find the place since it's kind of tucked away. Once we got our order, we dug into the bread right away. It was super soft, light, and chewy, just like you'd hope from a good shokupan. We also tried the honey toast. The bread on that one was firmer, but still pretty good. The loaf was $18, so definitely on the pricier side, but overall it was worth trying!

This is NOT a bakery you can just pop by to order. I got here and found a ghost kitchen. Tried to contact someone to order and was unsuccessful. Online system wasn't working either. Wasted time waiting here. I'll just go to cream pan

Pathetic locker system.

Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the soft, chewy bread texture and consistently fresh bread, with favorites like honey butter toast and shokupan. Some also appreciate the convenient online ordering.

Solid bakery. We were able to sample their blue corn sourdough and it was fresh, soft, very moist,…read moreand overall delicious. Went on a Sunday around 11:30am, there was a line of about 15 people in front of us but it went by very quickly. I will say because there is a line once you get inside you do feel a little pressured to pick your items quickly (and there is no way to see what's available until you reach the front). There is no seating inside the store but they do have a few tables out front of the bakery and plenty of outdoor seating as well. We tried the S.P.L (sweet potato latte, hot) and an iced latte with pistachios syrup. I believe they make their syrups in-house. The S.P.L was so good! It even came with toasted marshmallow on top. Perfect for the rainy day. The pastries we ordered were the Kougin Amman, the Tomato Oaxacan Cheese Croissant, and the Sesame Donut. All were absolutely delicious, the most indulgent was the donut. They did not skimp on the sesame filling, it was oozing out! Yum! I will definitely stop by the next time I find myself in the area. Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5

When I found out that this bakery was Filipino-owned, UHHHH YESSS! You already know I'm going to…read moresupport 100%! But honestly, Filipino-owned or not, everything here is SO GOOD! Let's start with the pandesal. As simple as it may seem, it really hits home for me. Growing up in the Philippines, pandesal was such a big part of my childhood, and finding a bakery that brings back those memories means so much to me. Thank you, Chef! Now, let me tell you about their PANETTONE!!! I received one as an engagement gift, and out of all the gifts I received, that was honestly my favorite! What can I say? Food just hits different! You would think a panettone that size would last me at least a month. NOPE! It was GONE in THREE DAYS!!! That's how good it was! I could seriously buy that bread every single week and never get tired of it. The chef has truly mastered the art of making panettone. The texture, the flavor, and the amount of care that goes into making it are incredible. You can tell this isn't just another bakery making bread. There's passion behind everything they create. And you know what's the most dangerous part? I LIVE LESS THAN A MILE AWAY FROM THIS BAKERY!!! My self-control is officially in trouble! I already can't wait to get another panettone during Christmas! Seriously, if you haven't visited 61Hundred Bakery, you're missing out. I love supporting small businesses, especially when you can taste the love and hard work in their food. Keep doing what you're doing, Chef! You've definitely earned a loyal customer!

Usually parking here isn't too bad if you're staying for less than an hour and easy to walk over to the dessert shop. Baked Banhs is located in the 4th street food market, one of the first shops you'll see if you're coming from the parking lot. Note the hours before you come (for instance, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays). And note that they seem to usually sell out of certain items by the days end. We've tried a number of different items here now including four of their canelés and their basque cheesecake. The cheesecake was solid. But we really loved their canelés. They are soft/moist on the inside with a nice crunch. And the different flavors really come through. Our favorite is the black sesame - not only is there black sesame peppered on the top but also in the center with a nice black sesame cream. It's so good and delicious. Four canelés cost $16 and thought they were well worth the price. Again, it's so sad to hear that Baked Banhs is closing soon so if you're a fan of canelés or other desserts, recommended to come sooner than later to try this out! We really hope they reopen again elsewhere or do a lot of pop-ups soon.

What else to say about Chaupain, except it's always exceptional?…read more I'm biased - but their pastries have got to be the best in OC. This is the 3rd Chaupain location I've been to, I happened to be in the area. It's smaller than the one on La Paz in LN to be sure, but ample size enough to provide anyone with full tastes of their amazing goods. I like everything - I've tried nearly all of their pastries and cakes, this time I tried the cinnamon roll- which was insanely good, soft, and tasted of such quality. Actually - never tried their quiche, which is certainly on a bucket list for next time. I highly recommend everything they have - but just to name a new, the guava cream cheese, cinnamon cream cheese, mixed berry bateau, opera cake, vanilla scone, any of their croissants, lemon tiramisu, and the jamon sandwich is incredible - I love that the bread had a chewy texture, which is perfect for this sandwich. Adding any of the American condiments would almost be a sacrilege, but a bit of dijon is good, which they have there in packets- the flavours work so well together. I really struggle to restrain myself when coming here, which necessary for your wallet and your waistline - but whatever you decided it's all good here. The customer service was also stellar - very friendly, helpful, and personable. Thank you !
