The bread itself was soft. The fillings weren't overly sweet, which I liked since it didn't feel heavy or overwhelming. Even though the selection wasn't exactly my preference, the overall taste and value were solid. I'd come back again, especially to try more of their other options. However, don't fret because they offer so many samples that you can literally go in there and try all the breads. My favorite is the cream cheese cranberry bread. The breads are actually quite large and they are reasonably priced. You could eat them over several days. I'm not sure how they bake their breads, but the texture is very uniquely soft yet chewy. it's very different and very good. Stopped by here on a whim to get some bread. Grabbed a random assortment to try and was pleasantly surprised at how big they were. Depending on what you get, some of the bread was soft and airy and others were more dense but none of them were dry. My favorite OC bakery when it comes to Asian pastries. Quick in and out, minimal line. Their breads are monstrous in size and fluffy. Not too sweet and run about $5-6 each. Such a cute bakery with fresh bread and sweets at a good price! Stopped by here after having shabu shabu next door as we wanted something sweet. They had a bunch of different bread both savory and sweet. It was so hard choosing but we decided on a loaf of the cranberry walnut bread and Carrie black bread. The cranberry walnut bread had the perfect amount of cranberries and walnuts evenly spread and wasn't too sweet. The Carrie black bread was my favorite - it was a dark chocolate bread with layers of Belgian chocolate, dark chocolate chunks, and what seemed like a marscapone cream filling. It was amazing! Nice small bakery with a good selection. The baked goods were good and big portion, but not perfect where I would crave them. I would come back if they have more savory options. My suggestion would be to make the breads smaller (chocolate bun is a good size) so it's easier to buy more for sharing. Chocolate bun: favorite. It's decadent but light. Good number of buns for the price. The inside is creamy and the ratio of filling to bread is perfect. The bread felt a little dry without the filling. Matcha bread: starts out tasting good, but there is a strong bitterness at the end that lingers. I wouldn't get this again. Again the bread is a little dry. Bread with cream: usually love this at other bakeries and it wasn't too bad here. The cream needed a little more sweetness (it tasted more like butter/cream with a little sugar). The bread was dry and too heavy to go with the bread. The ratio of bread to cream was great. Would have loved it if bread was fluffier/spongy and cream was a little more sweet. While browsing the tiny shoebox size bakery I poked (yes poked) their bread/pastries and they were super soft. Let's be real, Asian bakeries usually have dull or stale bread/pastries. It was soft like a pillow I had to try it out. PEACH KOKONUT PUDDING ($9.00) - it's a good dessert. They use fresh fruit mixed with coconut pudding. They give you a small package of coconut cornflakes and it is exactly that... coconut cornflakes. Nice for texture and taste. I liked it! But I don't feel it's worth the $9. RECOMMEND. RED WINE PINEAPPLE ($3.50) - grape ferment, honey, pineapple, red wine, mango, walnuts. It comes with coconut flakes to add texture Though it's definitely pricey $9. I'm thinking the jar is so cute and very nice display so maybe half the price went to branding and packaging. The one thing that is definitely amazing is their Crepe boba cake. You definitely have to try it!. Its almost like Lady M cake with boba in it. They don't have it in stock often. I broke in the middle and had a bite with the filling. It tasted funny after I chewed it. I thought perhaps my taste wasn't right, then I chewed it again, I had to spit it out. It was so gross. Unique selection of breads and toasts. So far, all the breads/toasts I've tried from Duke Bakery taste very healthy. The breads/toasts sold here seem to have a more dense body/texture compared to breads sold by other bakeries in the area; they are also less sweet but could taste a bit dry (especially for breads without wet/paste fillings). My favorite items are the Sesame Bread and Hokkaido Azuki & Milk Toast. The fillings are super flavorful and not overly sweet. I also feel that the amount of fillings is just about right, so you could taste both the bread and the filling. (For example, the sesame bread "bread" is slightly salty) One item I would not recommend though is the Red Wine Pineapple Bread. Not only I can't taste the red wine, but the pineapple chunks were also overly sweet. Overall, I just don't think the fillings complimented each other that well. read more

Duke Bakery has to be one of my favorite bakeries and I'm determined to try out every single one of their bread. On this visit, I got the Caramel Crisp and the Cranberry Walnut. Caramel Crisp: I was surprised because it didn't really have any caramel but more of a sweet cream on the inside that was the right amount of sweetness. It came in little swirls so it's really easy to pull apart and share with others. Not my favorite but I'm glad I tried it. Cranberry Walnut: I've had my eye on this for a while. Cranberry and walnut are one of my favorite pairings and it didn't disappoint when infused in this fluffy bread. I wish there were a few more walnut pieces for the crunch but otherwise, it was delicious. I think adding cream cheese would make it even better. read more

Delicious Taiwanese pastries. Large portions and pricing range form $2.50-5. Their white and what toast are very healthy and delicious. They use good ingredients and their mottos is low sugar low fat and low calories. They have delicious red bean and taro pastries and their pastry is quite soft and fresh. Used to frequent this bakery often as my family enjoys their mousse cakes. However, it really has gone downhill in the last year or so. Their individual cake slices are not fresh and I even found mold in them a few months ago. Last week, I came in and ordered 2 long cakes for Thanksgiving. I specifically asked what time I can come to pick up the cakes and the cashier said any time. I notified the cashier I will come at 10 am. The day of, I show up and my cakes are not ready. It doesn't seem like the cakes are made in house as the cashier today said my cakes were delivered to another location. Not sure if that's just an excuse or if the cakes are brought from a different location. Now I'm left on thanksgiving morning without my order I made ahead of time. No apology given either. One mistake can be excusable but it seems like this has become the new norm here, unfortunately. Poor quality and mold in pastries and horrible customer service. I can't say I'm willing to give this place another chance anymore. UPDATE: So the cashier offered a round mango mousse cake to make up for the inconvenience. Initially, I was willing to accept the attempt to making things right. I go to my family's for Thanksgiving and it's time to serve the cake only to find it to be completely frozen! 1. Complete disappointment to find out their cakes are not baked freshly and are actually frozen 2. The cashier could've at least mentioned it was frozen and suggested to leave it out for certain amount of hours before serving to thaw out. I was expecting to find a variety of breads, but was greeted with half empty shelves with just a couple loaves of bread left. I didn't see anything I liked so I left. A couple months later, I decided to give this place a try. I was able to snag a chocolate bread and the kids loved it again. I realized that the first experience wasn't great because I came too late! All the good breads are set out and gobbled up by noon. The breads here are unique, fresh, and tasty. It's not like 85C or JJ Bakery, where you have individually portioned breads.
