Slapping Salmon Sandwich Blackened Salmon on Brioche Bun, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, and Cilantro Lime Aioli
    Shanta F.

Yesterday I had the Slappin Salmon on Buttered Toasted Brioche Bun with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and Cilantro Lime Aioli. The salmon was plentiful and flaky, the Bun was soft, fresh and buttery, the veggies were fresh, lettuce was crisp and the aioli was very tasty! We also tried the Turkey Burger, again served on a Soft Buttered Brioche Bun, Nice size turkey burger patty and fresh veggies to complement. Overall the food was pretty good and tasty, We were not allowed to sit in the establishment. We were given a restaurant pager (buzzer) to notify us when the order was ready for pick up. We ate in the car because this establishment is carry out only due to Covid-19 restrictions ... Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Have a great day and Be Blessed!

10pc lemon pepper/seasoned wings with side of onion rings

A few family members made it in last night and wanted to order food while they settled in. The original order for catfish was cancelled as they were out. In their defense it was around 9p so we understood. A second order was placed using the UBER eats app for the 10pc chicken combos. We chose priority to somewhat expedite the order. The delivery was done without issue. The food was tightly sealed and everything was nicely packaged. They may want to get smaller containers as the asparagus was placed in a large Styrofoam box which is a little wasteful. They noted the chicken was hot and well seasoned. The onion rings were crispy. The food cost was very reasonable for the amounts.

Jerk Lambs Chops and Fried Okra

I ordered in Uber Eats and the order did take longer than expected, however, the wait time was well work it. Jerk Lamb Chops with the fried okra as my side was so good!! I had pulled out my own sauce not realizing they would send me (not one but) two ramekins of the jerk sauce which puts me in the mindset of a honey gold, but defiantly delicious a jerked sweet sauce. I had ordered a salad for dinner earlier and needed something to satisfy my hunger. This order was delivered at the end of the evening and definitely pleased.

First time eating with Flava House and the FH jerk chicken nachos and the eggrolls everything was simply delicious the nachos were good and seasoned as well as the eggrolls also spicy I truly enjoyed

Very good wings. Service was a little slow, especially when the place was 95% empty. Made my wings all flat and crispy how I wanted. Good flavor. Seasoned fries were good. Kool aid was good to wash down my food. Next time I'll call ahead cause again.. Took about 30 mins for me and my cousin to get our wings. It was only about 4 people in the whole place.

    Cajun chicken(with shrimp/broccoli) Alfredo pasta

Visited Flava House for the first time this weekend. After a lot of positive reviews via word of mouth, decided to make a visit. After checking reviews on here as well, the only negative review that was constant was the long wait times. Placed my order via call-in, was told 25min. Arrived exactly 25min later, paid for the order and had to wait an additional 5min(no biggie). My only complaints are the restaurant was extremely smokey due to cooking, very dimly lit, and the floor was extremely sticky. I ordered the Cajun chicken (with shrimp) Alfredo pasta. After the cashier showed me my food, it looked delicious. Once i arrived home, it still looked delicious. There was enough shrimp and chicken compared to the amount of pasta! The food was very flavorful and delicious. This meal was $15... so this will have to be an every once in a while meal. Lol! But another visit will be in the works!

Fried Kickin Cajun Shrimp . Shrimp tastes old and is very tough. Waited 30 minutes just for something that tasted reheated.

Very poor experience. The food was so disappointing i wanted to get my money back but the wait had already taken so long i instead just threw it away.

    Jerk Quesadilla

I'm not sure what's in the secret sauce, but it was delicious. It has a tangy and sweet flavor to it that added so much more flavor to the food. The jerk seasoning already was tasty on its own but the sauce took it over the top. The jerk (chicken) in the quesadilla was seasoned really well and the cheese was just the right amount. It is really large in portion, so you may not need an additional side. The lamb chops were really tasty. You will definitely need at least 2 sides to get full. The broccoli had your average taste. We did order asparagus with our meal, but did not receive it so I cannot rate that dish; however, they have good food.

This was my first time so I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the 3pc catfish w/grilled asparagus. I cooked myself some steamed white rice when I got home to make my dinner complete. I kept looking on the menu at the Lamb Chops? So I'll be back for those. Lol. Everything was on point. Thanks.

Flava House is a cool place with great restaurant quality food cooked fresh to order. Inside there's table and booth seating, but I notice many customers do take out. I prefer to eat inside. The menu has more options than other restaurants in the area. There's also a full bar and a game or music are usually playing. The staff is nice, they're young but I didn't have any issues or concerns.

Every time is a quest and I scored on all counts with Magnolia and May! Typically, we eat at a different place every month to "test the market." But it was unanimous that we come back here next month. We all want to try something different as everyone thought their entrée was the best. Everyone was a bit concerned about the location and parking, but it was easy to locate and easy to park. Service with impeccable and food was fabulous. There were many varied choices for lunch so we all got something different with no complaints!! That's a win for the home team The entrees were savory, cooked to perfection and spot on. The decor was very comfortable, the lighting was perfect as were the fixtures . And now that I'm writing this, my mouth is actually watering so to treat this I'm going tonight with my husband for wine and dinner. It's a win-win!

There weren't that many customers in during this time and I saw quite a few waiters that could have cleaned it up. Maybe I'm a bit of a prude - when I eat out, I'd prefer not to see dirty dishes on empty tables when I'm walking to/from the laboratory. Regardless, I will be returning next time I'm in Memphis. One more comment - when I used to live in Memphis (maybe 5 years ago?) this restaurant had a piano player some nights. This was AWESOME !!! Any chance of bringing that back??? That piano player made the place SO SPECIAL compared to other restaurants. It was the perfect blend of a good meal in a nice environment with a magnificent musician demonstrating their talents. I like the atmosphere, not too large of a dining area, I like the separate room of tables, with a fireplace, along with the area of booths for a more intimate setting. The bar itself is large and has seating on the outskirts of it as well.

I do believe C and I have only been here once as a couple. It did not go well at all, so we have not been back together, as she is holding a bit of a grudge. It's a long story but it all ties back to service. That night we had the worst table in the building and service was spotty at best. Food was still pretty good, just whole ass annoyed by the entirety of the rest of the experience. I am lucky enough to be able to be taken to/host dinner with clients and manufacturers a good bit. They like places like this so I get by ever so often. Gotta love expensed meals!!! Tehehe I like the open kitchen concept they have and the bar is really cool. The metal shelves at the bar that store the booze are bad ass. It's warm and cozy and has a great vibe overall. The last time we sat on the enclosed patio. I had not sat out there before. I think the larger tables all go out there. We had seven and there was another group of about twenty in the same room with us. Food ranges from fairly good to fucking great. I've never had anything bad here, but a few sighs have been had, mostly by misunderstood expectations of what I was getting I would say. So, quite possibly I am the problem. As with most of my problems, actually... The oysters Rockefeller are very different from the norm. Fried oysters on a side of spinach. That's what it seems like. I ate it up, don't get me wrong. I did just switch to only fried oysters after the first one. No need wasting stomach space on spinach. Charbroiled oysters is always a good move and the preparation remains traditional on that one. I do find the oysters to be quite massive and hard to chew the whole thing at once. Cutting them just seems silly though. Steaks are prepared very well and to your liking each time. I have never had a bad one. Good flavor too. I am going to spring on the Hawaiian Ribeye the next time I go on my dime. It's a classic that I remember from Steak and Ale as well as Houston's. Both now gone from Memphis. I like the she crab soup an awful lot, and just about every entree I have had here is killer. You really cannot go wrong with the food. Just order something you normally like and boom. I will also say this. The short ribs I had last time were some of the best I have ever had. Bravo on that! Additionally, I had two giant pieces for like $40! I could only eat one of them after all of the appetizers. Oh.... Yea. They have a hot lobster roll that is good! You don't see that in Memphis very often!! Get you some. Wait.... Lamb Lollipops. They have evolved some of the years but they have really good lamb chops. They used to be the exact same dish as their sister concepts of Itta Bena, BB Kings, and Lafayette's. I am not sure if the whole family still has the old version or not. Here it has changed a good bit. As I write this, I crave it.... Ugh. Damn your foods and your seductive prowess food skills! Lastly, Tommy Peters did great things for this city's food scene. I am sad that he is gone but I know he was proud of this one! Ok. That's enough, Adam.... No one reads this crap anyway. '26 - 48

Our darling Annalise server was extremely friendly. We loved the presentation of our dinner, but the octopus was a bit soft for our taste. I've had plenty of octopus in other cities and understand the dish is typically more expensive, but a small single mediocre tentacle is quite pricey for $28. I personally prefer a crispy and firmer chew for octopus. The scallops and shishito peppers were a delightful pairing. Valet parking shouldn't be forced upon the customer though? I felt bad that I don't carry cash to tip the valet, and valet is mandatory unless you want to park on the side streets and walk over. Do carry any cash! I wish that a portion of the parking lot was open for self parking though as those boys don't need to help out every guest who don't need valet and subjecting them to wait around for the boys to grab cars that we're perfectly capable of doing ourselves.
