The gizzards wasn't cook tender at all. The hush puppies were doughy. Good coleslaw and fish was ok. Over all I give a 4/10

We dined in last night to celebrate a birthday. We were seated on the back patio area. The weather…read morehas been temperamental lately but it was a little bit warmer so it worked out. There were heaters going by the time the sun set which helped not out the chill coming from the lake. Gianna was our server for the evening. Cocktail: Coastal 75: yummy! NOLA style half dozen oysters: soo flavorful and delicious. I should have gotten a full dozen We enjoyed sitting with one another while eating and chatting. The atmosphere is welcoming. The view of the lake at sunset is nice as well. There is complimentary valet available for those dining in. Point Judith calamari: crispy and seasoned well

I came to Coastal Fish Company for a special occasion after wanting to try it for years, and…read morehonestly the experience was really disappointing--especially the service. Our server was barely attentive to our table. She went around checking on other tables near us, but hardly came to ours at all. The only time she really interacted with us was when she brought the check. No follow-up, no asking how the food was, no drink refills--nothing. It honestly felt like we were overlooked the entire time. To make things worse, she wasn't even the one who brought out our food. Someone else dropped it off, and after that we were basically on our own. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much more attentive and professional service. The food didn't make up for it either. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and it was very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor, the potatoes were soggy, and overall it just wasn't enjoyable. Definitely not what you expect for the price. Overall, between the inattentive service and the disappointing food, the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all.

Talbert is Jim & Samella's grandson and HE CAN COOOOOOK! On this day, I had one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Memphis! He began with a salad made with veggies from Knowledge Quest. He pickled the fresh vegetables and then sautéed some of them in brown butter. His next course was a Soul Roll with collard greens inside a fried egg roll with yam sauce. We then cleaned off our palates with pineapple sorbet that had small pieces of pineapple inside. The main course was a choice between chicken or oxtail with dressing. The vegetables were green beans or Brussels sprouts as well as sweet potatoes. Dessert was a choice between sweet potato pie, pound cake or bread pudding. I cannot believe how delicious everything was. My chicken was falling off the bone. Everything was so well seasoned. You will never need salt or pepper in this restaurant. The restaurant is located in Talbert's grandparents' actual house. The decor is such that you totally feel at home. It's such a delightful experience!!! What makes this an even better experience is knowing that the restaurant adopted Ida B. Wells Academy to buy school supplies for the kids. I hear on Sundays, they get so packed that you can't get a seat and they run out of food every Sunday. Someone there said "you have to be posted up by 10:30 to get in." The restaurant is only open three days out of the week. They have set menus for each day. I will have to try every single one! This is an INSANELY AMAZING restaurant in the heart of South Memphis.

Fried pork chop, greens, green beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes and a heavenly spiced walnut cake with bourbon glaze, oh and yellow kool-aid. The staff and other guests were friendly and welcoming. My husband wanted to try this restaurant because it had gotten good reviews for its Cajun fried…read morerice. It was super busy when we got there so we were placed on a waiting list. No problem! There was a crawfish festival going on right outside its doors so I checked out some vendors while waiting. When our number was called I headed back to what was a literal zoo! It was so noisy that I couldn't converse with my husband. One customer (hyena) was talking and laughing so loudly from the back bar area that her voice carried to the front and startled me every time she opened her mouth. Just uncouth and inconsiderate. I had seen lots of people outside eating boiled crawfish that was pouring out of the styrofoam containers but my husband suggested I get it here. It was on the menu for $9/ 1/2lb and $15/lb but with a minimum pound order, and today bc they were competing with the festival, they upped the price to $20/lb. I had never had whole crawfish but it looked delicious from the outside vendors. I thought my husband was splitting the order with me but he ordered the Cajun fried rice and a grouper fish sandwich. He also ordered the soft shell crab appetizer. It was okay. It was 1 crab, maybe. I was so disappointed when my food arrived in a bag, especially then learning how to twist off the head of the crawfish and discovering there isn't much to them, so in essence it's a pound of useless head. I also thought the crawfish was bland and not worth the effort. Not the restaurant's fault that I didn't know better. My husband said the grouper upset his stomach and tasted like an oil sandwich. To make matters worse, we sat next to a table of 4 young people cursing and on a video call, 1 who made me hyper alert about my surroundings. I was just turned off by the environment and couldn't enjoy my food so I took the entire meal with us so my husband could eat it later. $80 bill for a meal we didn't enjoy and a loud and uncouth environment.
