I have never once written an online review before and I am going out of my way to post here that Flatirons Subaru is absolutely not worthy of your business or of being in business. There are not expletives enough in this world to describe how awful their service is. I scheduled my Outback for a recalled Takata airbag swap and routine checkup and was told that they needed the car all day. This should have been a red flag--clearly, they did not intend to schedule my car for service at all but to squeeze it in between others at a time most convenient for them. I brought the car in at 7:45am and asked that it be done by 4 or 5 because I needed the car to drive to Denver tonight. The person I talked to was very kind and said he would put it down for 3 o'clock pickup to be absolutely sure it would be done by 4. He said they would also check the tire pressure and other routine things and wash the car free of charge. When 4:30 rolled around and I hadn't heard anything, I called and was told that they had changed the oil. I had the oil changed less than 300 miles ago and never requested that the oil be changed today. They tried to convince me that I had and I should pay for it. When I arrived to pick the car up, they told me that the person on the phone had been referring to the wrong car and that they had not changed the oil. They also informed me that the airbag swap had not been completed. When I asked to speak to the manager, they told me he was "out for lunch." 5pm is an odd time to eat lunch by my standards. I had to leave with the car to get to my commitment in Denver. So they had my car all day and did absolutely nothing with it AND acted like that was normal and okay. Screw these people. read more

Great service if you have nothing else to do for the day. We had an appointment for a oil change checked on the car at 45min because we had another appointment that we needed to get to was given a time 20min out. It's now that time and the car is still not ready. It should not take a Subaru service department over an hour for a oil change on a Subaru. I can do the same oil change change in 15 min without a lift or specialized training. Don't schedule a appointment if you don't have the time to do it and if it will take longer than usual talk to the customer before you start the work. Come on Subaru Service show some basic customer service. On a side note always check your car before and after using this shop. First time I took it here back in 2011 it came back to me with its very first dent. They fixed it but took over 5 try's until they fixed it right. read more

Wow, great dealership... Was able to get a trade in quote over the phone, they did not try to lowball me on it when I brought it in... gave me a great price on a new Legacy for my son, about $1000 below what I expected to pay..... no time wasted.. laid back dealership... I have purchased over 50 cars in my time. Its nice to see a dealership that is out for the "customer" for a change... read more

I came here to get my windows tinted and an oil change for my new Subaru. It was my first time here and my expectations were exceeded. I had it done all in the short time I went to work for a few hours. My service advisor Maggie was extremely helpful and very polite. I was overall pleased with my services and the help I received! I will be back soon! read more

Went here for oil and vehicle check and the service technician tried to work me for tire rotation on tires with barely 2k on them. During this visit I request they replace the wrinkled leather front seat, which was covered under warranty. I showed up for the appointment and waited over 90 minutes without hearing when the car would be ready. My service rep went to lunch and was no where to be found. I learned from another CS person this service should not have been scheduled for a Saturday due to the time requirements. Hum, I wonder why my initial CS person didn't pick this up at the time of check in....must of been that hot 90 minute lunch date? Bottom line, I had to leave the car and return on Monday. Thanks for wasting my time and future business!! read more

I have purchased two Subaru Outbacks from Flatirons Subaru and was happy with the buying experience. I also took both vehicles there for routine service for many years. Unfortunately, over the last year the service department seems to have gotten overwhelmed with calls and has lost my business as a result. Every time I call they put me on endless hold. On more than one occasion I've called with questions about my vehicle but was unsuccessful getting through. I tried leaving messages but no one ever returns my call. As a result, I switched over to SuperRupair. They respond immediately when I call and the service has been great! read more

After years of taking our Subaru to Flatirons, we finally decided to try another local repair shop with trusted mechanics. Wow what a difference. Flatirons Subaru was convinced it had an oil pan leak and kept badgering us to get it serviced. It wasn't an oil pan leak at all, the oil just ended up there because it's the lowest point on the engine housing. They ignored our requests for a front-end alignment (or if they did do an alignment they did it wrong.) The end result of that issue was uneven tire wear on the front tires bad enough we now have to buy a new set of tires (all four, due to Subaru being AWD) prematurely. The service desk to tech comms is poor as well, calling back about this supposed oil pan leak they finally actually talked to the tech. The tech said, "just monitor it" but the front desk said "do the repair or else omg" and they even continue to send snail mails, phone calls and other harassment to buy into their flim-flam about a repair the car didn't need. After going elsewhere, the Subaru now drives straight as an arrow and all the fake repairs Flatirons claimed we needed weren't needed at all, money in the bank. Power user's tip, all the regular maintenance your vehicle needs done is listed in the back of the owners' manual. Anything the dealers are pushing is just profit for them unless something is actually broken. Also worth noting: their parts counter overcharges cost of parts more than OEM, other dealers in the area, or third-party sites selling OEM, although they will price-match if you bring in information so if you have to buy parts there, bring info from anywhere on the entire planet where it's cheaper. 2 stars because they are definitely not the worst place you could take your car, I have actually been to worse, but they probably shouldn't be first or second either. read more

This by far was the easiest car buying experience of my life. I had the pleasure of dealing with Brendan Simpson (sales person) he wasn't pushy he was very knowledgeable on the vehicles that I decided to test drive and he allowed me to take my time to make a decision and then on top of that they not only matched another dealerships price but beat it. Thank you Brendan for helping me pick my first ever Subaru. read more

My daughter won a car at the Fairview High School Raffle at AfterProm this past April. She decided she was not going to take the car with her to college, and we sold it to a close friend who is working full time and is an award winning scholar at CU. We sold it at a very low price as we are a very charitable family. Today I found that the young man to whom my daughter sold the car is having mechanical problems, and the car needs to be repaired. Because I am a trusting person, I never once thought Mr Crouch would donate a car that was not in perfect running order to an 18 year old. I will never purchase another subaru from Flatirons Subaru again. I am hoping Mr Crouch will do the right thing and pay for the repairs to the auto he donated to Fairview. read more

Before buying our 2020 CrossTrek, we checked out a few Subaru dealerships in the area and were thoroughly unimpressed by our experience here. Their price for a base model Cross Trek was the highest. Their offer on our trade in was the lowest. But the salesmanship and customer service was what stood out as awful. The salesman Pete seemed disinterested in making the sale (late to our appointment, rude, and aloof). He refused to give us any offers in writing, and changed his verbal offer repeatedly during our interaction. In the end, we went to Valley Subaru in Longmont and were treated a lot better. We got a way better deal on the CrossTrek, got way more for our trade in, and the salesman we dealt with was pleasant, patient, and interested in making the sale. We really wanted a CrossTrek from the start, but Pete was so incompetent we almost got a Honda HRV because he kind of put a bad taste in our mouth regarding Subaru. read more

I live in Denver and have always driven the extra 30 minutes to have my Crosstrek's services at the Boulder dealership because of its good customer service. After my experience with them on March 18, 2019, I am afraid that may no longer be the case. I am concerned with the dealership and its service department's business practices. Yesterday, I had a 3:30 pm appointment to do my 30,000 mile maintenance. I showed up early when my work meeting ended early and as always, I was greeted with courtesy and professionalism by the customer service staff. My rep went out of her way to set me up with a technician to work on the vehicle immediately even though I showed up 2 hours early. She informed me that my 30,000 mile service usually takes between 3.5 to 4 hours so getting setting me up with a technician at 1:30 PM saved me from coming back another day. I stayed in the dealership to wait for my vehicle to be ready. At 3:30 pm, she texted me that the service was done and I was ecstatic to pick up the vehicle and avoid rush hour traffic. Upon payment for the service, I noticed and pointed out to my rep that I was charged for 3.2 hours of the technician's labor when the car was in the dealership for a total of 2 hours. She explained that the 3.2 hours is the standard amount of time spent on a 30,000 mile maintenance service and the dealership bills accordingly. She then proceeded to point out that I would only have been billed for 3.2 hours of labor had the technician spent more time on the car. I did want to dispute this business practice with her as rush hour was approaching and I did not have the time to escalate this issue to a manager. I did leave the dealership with a sour taste in my mouth because I felt this sort of business practice is unjust and borderline fraudulent. I understand that it may not be possible for each customer service representative to review every invoice for accuracy, but when a customer points out a mistake I expect it the issue to be resolved fairly. There is no way anyone should be charged for 3.2 hours of work when it's definitive that only 2 hours were spent. I will be servicing my car at a different Subaru dealership in the future. I hope anyone who continues to use this dealership will review the invoice diligently. read more

I had purchased a Subaru from Flatirons a few years ago and continue to get it serviced here. I had a routine oil change and vehicle check. There was an issue where something that I was told was checked and in good condition actually wasn't, which caused me problems a few days later. While I was upset about the service performed, the actions takes to resolve the issue were amazing. I worked with Maggie who went above and beyond to make things right. She was so apologetic and did everything in her power to remedy the problem. I was about to switch service shops, but because of Maggie that I will continue to go here. read more

Shuttle service is terrible: I was told it would be five minutes, and was waiting for 45 minutes. They will sell your personal information just to make a buck. I keep getting junk mail that I can't stop! I don't even own a Subaru anymore, and talking with their staff is of no help. read more

My car was in for service from June 12-July 13 (reported completion date was somewhere between June 29-July 6) for warranty work as well as a request to repair the stereo. When I picked up my car the stereo had not been repaired and I had received no phone call with an estimate or follow up. The part is two weeks backordered and I am moving out of state next week (which I had shared with the advisor). I expected and was told that both jobs would be completed within 2-3 weeks. One month later I have 2,000 miles to drive and my car was not repaired as requested and promised. read more

The best car buying experience I've ever had. Talk to Pete Seabrook. He's nice and was straightforward and honest with my husband and me. He took the time to explain different features and packages to us and helped us get the car we wanted. We also got a great deal on our a trade in! read more

Tried to have my car serviced there. Only to find out that they try to give you a list of many things that apparently "immediately" need fixing. Then they contradict and basically berate you if you try to ask why these things need to be replaced, or if there's a cheaper option. Very very rude woman in the service department, was rude when I made the appointment, and was very rude in person as well. Wouldn't even entertain any of my questions, answered as if she couldn't care less that I was there, and has some kind of superiority complex which is ridiculous considering this is just a Subaru dealership, not Ferrari or anything. This is all new, they used to be really good at this dealership. They got rid of this other girl that I dealt with many times, and hired this very angry woman instead. Even though I live less than a mile away, I would gladly drive to Denver or any other place instead of going here from now on. UPDATE: i've been back to the Subaru dealership many times, it's less than a mile away from me. Not had a single problem since that one day, just a fluke I'd say. In fact every time I've been back since has been excellent. Total redemption read more

After moving to Colorado a few years ago without a car I finally thought it was time to get my own set of wheels. I decided on a Subaru and set out to Boulder Subaru. We arrived in the lot and wandered around for about 15 minutes without anyone approaching us. We went up to the office and explained that we were looking for a car etc. I was pretty much ignored by the sales person. He said just wander around and let him know if we had any questions - its like we were bothering him by looking at cars on a Saturday afternoon. Um hello, isn't it your job to sell cars? After leaving disappointed we went to Longmont Subaru and were so impressed that thats where I got my new car. They actually wanted to sell me a car, took the time to hear what I was looking for, and offer suggestions. read more

So, initially everything was great, salesman was fantastic, they had the car I wanted, and they could beat the terms of the pre-approved I walked in with. Why one star, well they told me the company I would be financed through, a local credit union, and the date of my first payment, as I got closet to that date I had not heard anything so I called the credit union, they said they had never heard of me. Called and emailed the dealership, no response. So a well or two later I called the credit union again and asked them to double check turned out they had sent the contract for the loan back to the dealership weeks ago and we're waiting for it to be returned. Called the dealership, no response. About this point I start noticing a number of new credit inquiries for auto loans. Then I get a letter from the credit union, they can't offer me the original because, you guessed it, to many credit inquiries. Called the dealer, no response. So now I have no choice but to accept worse terms then I agreed to, or pay an exorbitant fee, several thousand dollars, to return the car, I guess it's a good thing I decided to purchase less car then I could afford. read more

Flatirons got me in as a walk-in when they had a full slate of appointments for new tires when I realized on a road trip that my rear tires were shot (axle problem from a wreck back in my hometown of Pittsburgh). Thank you Flatirons for working me in and making my on-the-road car repair a breeze. read more

They definitely post used cars on their website that they don't have on the lot. Their lot is also very unorganized, the dealer had to drive us around looking for the car we came to see with the clicker pointed out the window trying to get it to beep as he locked/unlocked it. We never found the car and he didn't even bother attempting to show me other options. I don't know why people go to to this place, I won't again. read more

This place is horrific in their customer service and the way they handle business. I leased a 2014 forrester from them in November and they are still hassling me with crazy requests. I traded in my car and they told me this would count for the 1st month payment, now in January they are harrassing me for a November payment that was never discussed in our conversation. So many things wrong with the way they do business For example, 1) I signed a lease that had a set number of miles allowed ( 15,000) and a set payment then one month later a new lease shows up at my door with NO letter or apology just two big arrows saying sign here and here your new lease is only 12,000 a year instead of the 15,000 you signed for we messed up. When I called to ask about what a contract meant to them they said they would just raise my payments if I didn't sign the new contract and that they had the ability to void any contract. 2) If you are a woman do NOT shop here they try to take advantage of you for every penny, Jeremy brushed me off when I called to inquire about the contract. So dissappointed in the way they handle customers and customer service DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Will be my last time working with flatirons. One month into my lease I got a flat tire (I've never had one run flat on me like that but ok whatever, maybe it was a nail who knows) BUT they attempted to make me replace all four tires because of fear of an uneven wear on my tread. That is BOGUS. I still had dealer plates, there's no way the tread was that worn down. I felt that the least they could do was warranty a possibly faulty tire but they wouldn't cover a single tire. I have years left to pay on my lease and for services I guarantee you they'll make plenty more money on me. Love my car, but looking forward to releasing with another dealer. read more

If you like to shop on line to buy a new car, this is the place to go. I exchanged a few emails with Jeremy Pilon, we agreed on price and features for the model I wanted. I was extremely satisfied with my experience here. As a young female with bad credit, I found it very difficult to find a car dealership that treated me with respect and honesty. Xavier, the salesperson was EXTREMELY helpful. He was a very kind, understanding and honest. He did not push anything on me and took my requests seriously. He only showed me the cars that completely fit my needs. He was extremely respectful and thorough, I would HIGHLY suggest going straight to him. Also, Shae helped me figure out a great payment plan that worked for me and my bad credit. Shae also was extremely kind, nonjudgmental and honest. When dealing with finance I spoke with Faith, and she also was friendly and helpful. NOT TO MENTION I LOOOVE MY SUBARU!!! My car is awesome and no issues yet!! They really have a great team here!!! I will definitely continue coming back here! read more

Would recommend this dealer to anyone. I've purchased 3 cars from them over the past 7 years, and have rarely run into any issues. The one time I had a major issue, they took care of it in a timely manner, and turned a potential bad situation into complete satisfaction for me. My customer service rep Kristen was responsive, keeping me updated on my issue and doing all she could to make a tough situation right. My salesman Ray was equally outstanding when I purchased my Forester and later my STi. I'll be seeing Ray again the next time Subaru of America decides to give Americans a new turbo manual hatchback. For now, I'm sending anyone who asks me for car advice to them for a 2015 Forester; that loaner car made me a huge fan! read more

By far the worst experience I have ever had at any car dealership. I have decided not to mention the sales mans out of respect, but he was by far the worst sales man I have ever encountered (this guy would probably have a hard time selling water to a fish). I had to request for him to walk on the lot to show me a car that I found on the website, in which he insisted "had not arrived" (yes the car was there). In addition, he didn't even come with me on the test drive. Needless to say he was useless. When I asked him for some information (price and promotions) he told me that he would contact me the next day. He did in fact contact me but with zero new information. He just asked "Are you still interested in the car?" After he called me back again, he provided me with a price and he then decided to inform me that the car was actually traded away to a different dealer today, and that he could sell me the more expensive model or find me that same car and have it brought to Flat Irons Subaru from a different dealership. I told him that I would have to respectfully decline the offer and that I would find the car at a different dealer for a better price. He told me that if I found a better price he would match it. (Now why should I go and do the work to find a better price and then give the "useless sales man" the sale.) Seems like a pretty ignorant way to do business. The final straw was when he told me something along the lines of "this is what normally happens, the first sales guy does all the work, and another one ends up getting the sale". Needless to say I will NEVER do business with this dealer and I advise you, the readers who took the time to read this to do the same!!! read more

After several weeks of working with a sales agent at Flatirons and informing him that I was interested in purchasing a car en route on a cross country move, he told me to provide my current mailing address on the sales contract paperwork which included the title mailing address. I was not informed at any time that the title would be mailed to me one month later and though he was aware of my moving plans he did not communicate that this was a possibility. Even worse, after realizing it was sent to the wrong address where I no longer live, he did nothing to help me find a solution. He just told me to call his accounting department who sent the paperwork. Finance manager was no better and told me since I signed the paperwork a month ago, it was my problem to deal with and if I wanted them to send a revised envelope it would cost me $50. Seriously? I paid $22k cash for a car and you can't send an envelope to make it right?! Customer service is an absolute joke. Buy from anywhere else. read more

It seems like this Subaru dealership is used to selling their cars like candy. I went in with my family and it took over 10 minutes for us to even be acknowledged. The salesmen offered us no information and we had to pry it out of him, and even then, he seemed to know very little and could barely answer our questions. He immediately assumed that my parents were buying me a car and made many comments implying that I was a spoiled brat. He also complained when we asked him to bring out a car to test drive, saying that he had just put it back and that it was a pain to get it out of the spot that it belonged in. Even the front desk where you have to sign paperwork to do a test drive seemed annoyed that we were there. Based on the treatment alone, I would go outside of town to look at or buy a Subaru. I'm pretty sure that salespeople are supposed to treat their customers respectfully and offer them information on their cars. Wouldn't ever go here again. read more

I live in another state and I recently contacted Flatirons Subaru via email to inquire about their 2014 Subaru Crossteks. I was told someone would call me. Later on that afternoon I received a voice message from Jeremy their Internet sales manager. I had called Jeremy back as soon as I received the voice mail. However, he was with another customer so I had to leave a message. When I returned to work the following day, I read an email he had sent to me, at which point I replied. Just purchased a new Forester at this dealer. Jeremy Pilon was a pleasure to work with. Very low key but professional. Got me a good price on my trade-in without haggling. My only complaint was the looong delay between signing the papers with Jeremy and getting in to see the finance person. Almost 3 hours, but at least they have a very nice waiting area. I foolishly thought that since we were paying cash we would be in and out much quicker. Still, it was a fairly painless process and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

So I brought my legacy in for a 24 point inspection in April. Apparently there was a laundry list of things to do. I brought my car back in May to have the front right boot replaced ($200 job) and the oil plug replaced per their advice. Shortly after we started noticing a growl coming from the front right wheel, same wheel the boot was replaced so we brought car back the first week of September. I was told by the service consultant that when the boot is replaced and if the wheel bearings are on their way out this can cause them to fail, other mechanics have said this is BS. Of course they didn't tell me this when they replaced the boot that the bearings may fail. During this conversation of when they had my car on the lift they also told me that my oil pan was leaking and that my brakes were dangerously bad, urging me to get them done that day. I quickly explained that my car had been in twice in the last 4 months and none of this was an issue. The service consultant quickly got defensive and said I'm just trying to help you out. I also explained that I had all four brakes replaced 10k miles ago and that's when he got kinda quiet. Something just didn't seem right so I took my car back to the place where I had the brakes done. They were quick to accommodate me and got me in within 4 hours of my phone call. They walked me back into the bay, which they don't do at Subaru and showed me how the brakes were in perfect condition they also showed me that the oil pan had no leak what so ever...... I'm to the point now that I want to show the service consultant that this work has been checked by multiple shops and nothing needs to be done that they said needs to be done and present it to their General Manager. Be very very leary of bringing your car in their for service. I think the only reason they have this many stars is because of people rating their sales folks for buying a new car. read more

The car mechanics at Flatiron are superb, as are the parts people and most of the service people. However, try to avoid Service Consultant Kristen Miller - you'll thank me later. Does not offer even the basic customer service such as going over what was done on your car. When I asked for that, got lots of attitude. Upon arrival, she asked me if I had extended maintenance. When I answered yes, she said that she doesn't believe people and always checks online (they why ask?). Really bad experience -- only with her -- and I found out later that many fellow subie owners had the same experience (when I said my experience was odd and bad, they asked me if I had her - so this is not a personality conflict or isolated experience evidently). It seems most subie owners do their best to avoid her...as I will in the future. Lesson learned and otherwise, high marks for service.... read more

I started bringing in my car for service at Flatirons Subaru instead of my home dealer because it was closer to work. I thought my old dealer was good but Flatirons was even better. All of the service advisors that I've worked with were knowledgeable, friendly and didn't try to upsell anything I didn't need.
