I scheduled an appointment for Thursday with 3 days notice. The service desk was patient and thorough, all while managing my expectations well with prospective timings and quotes. I ended up having a shock installed, 2 calipers refurbished, brakes bled, 4 tires swapped, aligned, and balanced, parking brake pad repair, coolant flush, trans flush, and oil change. The price for the service and parts left my floored. I called back to clarify the quote was correct because I was compelled to believe the service would cost more. I've only had positive experiences at J&S. I came here as my car was currently having a problem with what I believed was the ABS. If I had an "incident" that activated the ABS (hit a patch of ice, went over a bump, breathed wrong), my brake pedal would turn to mush. The dealership near my house had said that was a common problem for my car (2012 Ford Fusion), and that the ABS would need to be replaced. I told all of this to the technicians at J&S, and I was ready to pay at least 1k for the repair. They suggested we try flushing my brakelines first, as a bubble could cause similar problems, and it would only be around $50. At that price point, I was not going to argue, and we have it a shot. And guess what? My brakes never presented that troublesome behavior again. J&S saved me at least a thousand dollars by presenting me an alternative, even though I was fully prepared to pay the full amount. I have never had such a good experience with an auto shop. I also regularly get my oil changed here now, and they have never tried to upsell or convince me anything was broken. I genuinely trust this place because of how knowledgeable and helpful they were with my brakes, and I cannot recommend them enough. read more

It is uncreditble to fix a tinny problem to cost that much. And I read the description carefully，I find that they come up many problem that my car does not have. Had a flat a few months back and they where the only automotive place within walking distance. Sold me a tire for $180 not giving me any choices, I had realized when I got home that I didn't want to pay that much for one tire. Went back the next day and asked for another one. After arguing with the desk lady about her not giving me a choice and her saying I didn't ask for one (customer is always right?) I got them to take back the tire for a new one for $135. After they put the new tire on they gave me the bill with fees and all $160. Not a very reputiable business in my opinion, Gunbarrel residents are better off going to a place in Boulder or Longmont. I'd sooner walk on my bare knees in 3 feet of snow than give them any of my business ever again. read more

I have to add that since my repair my brakes squeal EVERY time I reverse! Having done my own brake repairs over many years this is the result of not adding the high temp lubricant that deadens that sound. Because of this, my car started getting smoke from the exhaust and oil was showing as very low right after. Some shops would because of the lost income from marking up on the parts. The work was done on time and at the estimated cost. The alignment job has proven to be excellent. Caught in an outright LIE! I have the paperwork to prove it. After my engine light came on and they charged over $800 worth of work my engine light was back on in a couple of days. They said I needed another $500+ of work done to fix the issue. In my first work order email they said they replaced my gas cap (common source of the issue) and still had issues, hence the $800+ of needless work. Turns out that was a lie and when caught in the act the owner Craig chose not to respond to my emails after requesting the notes from the mechanics themselves he said he had. Turns out after all my money spent all it took was a $5 gas cap and changing my car to mid-grade gas. BEWARE! I can not say I have ever been scammed so blatantly! read more

Went to get an alignment for my brand new truck, which I leveled. Drove straight before and after the leveling install. Called 2 days in advance to make an appointment. Dropped my car off half an hour before the appointment was scheduled. Was told it would only take one hour. Came back an hour after the scheduled appointment time (so 1.5 hours later) was greeted by Todd in a very rude manner.... and had to wait another half hour until they handed over my truck. Drove away and noticed it now veered to the right, a good amount too. So now I have to take the car back and loose another hour of my time. I called them and told them about my experience. They said they would get it fixed ASAP. I brought it to them during my lunch break the next day. When I came to pick it up they were taking to for a test drive and whoever was driving it was driving it like he stole it, very recklessly, I watched him skid it to a stop (on brand new tires) and then floored it. This was the last straw. If they wouldn't have done that I would be been willing to give them another chance. Overall they got it fixed but that's it. If they wanted to keep their customer for future fixes they could have done more. And if I want my truck driven recklessly I will take care of that myself. I won't be coming back to this place. Would not recommend this place On the bright side, The only good part of this place is Donna, very kind, helpful, and committed. read more

Bad Business, went in and needed some work . They charged me $125 just to check out my car . Paid for a brake inspection of which they told me they were fine and took car for a second opinion and found they are actually needing replaced fairly urgently. They never took my wheel off to look at my brakes and charged for an inspection. Lame service. Never met my mechanic, only get to talk with the from desk. Also they told me I needed a transmission flush, I had a new transmission a year before and when I had the second opinion the mechanic showed me how clean the fluid was and that it was full. They tried to get me for a $200 service that I didn't need. My new mechanic would never charge for a vehicle inspection. Lame Lame Lame..... read more

It's an older Saab, going on 15 years old, so of course things pop up sporadically. Everyone at J & S is very friendly and helpful. They have quickly solved all the issues at a very reasonable price. They are certainly not scammers as other people have accused them of.... I'm very happy with them, they are very convenient to anyone in the Gunbarrel area, and they don't try to sell you on extra work. This place WAAAAY over priced and the lady, Donna (perfect name for her) was very rude and condescending she thinks that you should have it diagnosed when you walk in and if you don't know what anything is. she gets very uptight. I hate this place and will avoid it at all costs... even if I have to pay up somewhere else, it's not worth having to deal with a lady stuck in the 80's that has an attitude. They are a rip off and I wish Gunbarrel had a reputable mechanic... She quoted me 890$ for tires for my truck, went to big o got the same tires for $538.00 with an alignment and done in less than 2 hrs. Just went for a flat tire. They couldnt get to it right away so I I was offered a shuttle back home which was great. The gentleman (Don) who drove me back was extremly nice. The tire was fixed through the morning and I was left a message saying that my tire was fixed. When I called back the receptionist responded with an atittude saying that she had left a message, and seemed upset that I hadnt listened to it before calling. When I went to pick up the car she was still hung up on the fact that Iadnt listened to my message and was rude enough to ask "do you normally not listen to your messages???" I calmly responded that I was working at a constructiion site and sometimes have problems hearing my phone, but quite frankly I would go somewhere else next time just to not deal wich such a rude person.
