This place is amazing. I have a Subaru over 100k miles. When you bring your car in for routine services they give you a "report card" kind of assessment that lets you know what's coming down the line and how everything is looking. It was really helpful for me because they give me a heads up about replacements to be aware of in the next year and the costs before I have to scramble to pay for an urgent repair. Also, when they replaced 2 of my brakes, I still heard squealing so I brought the car back and it was actually the other ones they didn't replace but they helped me lube those up to be nice and quiet, no charge! read more

The workers at this shop are SUPER kind. They always try to help me find the cheapest, best quality option to service my car. Service is quick, the inside of the shop is nice. AJ is truly such a joy to talk to everytime! read more

A great experience. This is a mechanic business I trust. They are extremely customer friendly and provide fair and necessary assessments and disclosures. I am so happy I do not have to go to a dealer for service after becoming acquainted with Alternative Autoworx. I have a Mazda and they have done a great job with its maintenance and service. A really friendly and nice group that run and work for this shop. I am very happy with the work and having found them. read more

For nine years, since moving to the Boulder/Denver area, I have been searching for a reputable, reliable, communicative, and friendly mechanic shop. Alternative Autoworx is the place! The technicians, Bobby, Mark, Greg, and Joe, are mechanically masterful! AJ, Service Manager, and Matt, Service Advisor, are the friendliest, upfront, got-your-back kind of guys. I treat my vehicles like family, and the men at Alternative Autoworx get it. The team has earned my trust and my loyalty. They are the best I've found, hands down . . . 100%. read more

We recently moved to Colorado and I was in need if a repair shop. I made the right choice using Alternative Autoworx to repair my 2012 Honda CRV. Highly recommend. read more

Very poor communication on getting their work done. Asked for three repairs, two items were "inspected" but not completed. Was told they didn't have time, but was not told this (no phone calls, no cautions at time of booking) that they couldn't get either done in the 8 hours it was there. Would not recommend. Find someplace that has better communication. read more

My son's Subaru has been being worked on by my brother and i for weeks now and we have been fighting it the whole way. Well we have tried to fix everything and there was one noise we couldn't fix. We called up Alternative Autoworx and asked if they could take a look at it. Even during this busy Christmas time they took our car in to diagnose it only because they were very busy with all their work and would have to fix any problems after the first of the year. They still took it in and not only diagnosed it they did the needed repairs and aligned it for us within 3 hours they were done. I would recommend them to any Subaru owner hands down. Thanks A.J and the people at Alternative Autoworx James read more

By far the best mechanic shop I have ever used. If you have a Subaru, then I guarantee these guys will do amazing work! Jesse and his crew have never once let me down. He is always completely honest about what needs done and doesn't try to charge me for unnecessary work. Unlike every other mechanic nearby. As long as I live in CO, this will be my #1 mechanic. read more

My 2003 Toyota 4Runner stopped blowing cold air, so I took it to several service centers who told me they would have to dismantle to dashboard to find the problem at a subtantial cost. I had heard about Alternative Autoworkx from a friend so I decided to give them a call. As it turns out all it needed was a collant recharge and the cabin filter changed. Saved me a bunch of money. read more

I took my Forester here once for a faulty clutch safety switch. They diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly, and the price was great. The only thing I look for in a mechanic is trustworthiness. These guys do a great job and won't take advantage of you. I like them so much, I dropped my car off for a repair tonight and walked home 7 miles just because I wanted to use them and not the shop next to my house. I trust Alternative Autoworx and highly recommend them for all your subaru needs! read more

I have had several excellent experiences with Alternative Autoworx, most recently when I could not get my key out of my subaru impreza's ignition. I had to leave my car in the parking lot with a key in the ignition, locking it from the outside using another key and dropping the key in the drop box. The whole situation felt stressful, as it was a Sunday after hours, and I was uncertain about whether my car would be safe overnight with a key so visible from the window. An employee observed this situation and took the initiative to move the car into the garage so it was secure all night. Even though I did not have an appointment, by 9:00am the next day, the issue was diagnosed, a plan to fix it was in place, an email with a work order and a phone call detailing the issue occurred, and I was able to pick up by that afternoon, less than 24 hours after dropping off. It was incredible service, and I'm so glad to have a mechanic I trust so much read more

Seriously cannot say enough kind words about these guys! My car, for the last 4 years, has had an issue with the secondary air system that has been miserable to diagnose! I've spent thousands at 4 other mechanics, including the dealership, to try to get this thing resolved. It always comes back. Alternative Autoworx is the first shop to take their diagnosis past faulty parts and really dig deep into possible causes. I felt a little bad and how much a nuisance my car has been, but Jesse's response was, "This has been fun! It's been a while since a car challenged us like this." What a great attitude! Thanks guys! You are my mechanics from now on! read more

My 2008 Subaru Outback XT has been serviced at Autoworx since I've bought it 3 years ago. Joel and his staff are very knowledgeable of these cars and getting it serviced here saved my significant $$& over Mike Shaw Subaru which is also doing an excellent job. This show is a little hidden at the back of a cul-de-sac but I am glad I found them. This is no fancy dealership but there are some chairs and wireless plus there is a diner down the street that I'd also recommend if you are waiting for your car to get serviced. read more

Alternative Autoworx - Subaru toys :) - Auto Repair Near Me - Broomfield, Colorado

This place saved the day. My mom, who is in her 80's, was quoted $1500 dollars and was told her motor would have to be taken apart to fix the rattle that happened when she drove the car. The $1500 didn't cover fixing the car, only taking apart the motor. I called Alternative Autoworx on Monday. They said to bring the car Tuesday. By Tuesday mid morning they told my mom the car was fixed and all that it needed was a valve to be flushed. I can't say enough about how honest and professional this car repair business is. If you have a subaru, take your car here now! I thank the stars for this place. Happy mom, happy life. read more

To sum it up, Alternative Autoworx is the fastest, most affordable auto repair shop in the Broomfield, Westminster, Arvada, Superior, Boulder area. Seriously, these guys work FAST, do excellent work, and don't charge you any more than they have to. I had a radiator crack and after receiving a quote from Alternative Autoworx, I called two other places...one gave me an estimate $200+ higher & the second didn't even bother with an estimate once they heard the price I was quoted. read more

Terrific customer service and technical service. Car repairs well explained and done on time. I trust them -- a rare trait these days.

The brush guard on my car came undone on a Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Alternative was busy with other customers, especially since it was a short holiday week. Because the repair to my car was minor, and didn't require a lot of time to fix, I was able to get my brush guard reattached the same day. The folks could have told me to wait a day or so due to how busy it was, but worked me in and were professional and courteous about it. If I had another issue with my car, I have the faith and confidence to go back knowing that Alternative will do an honest job. read more

This is a great shop for your Subaru. I had a funny noise in my Subaru that I couldn't figure out. Came in a talked to Joel who took the time to listen to me and came for ride with me in my Forester around the block. Not 10 Yards out of the parking lot and he knew what the problem was. Have taken my Subaru back for regular service which is reasonably priced. They are up front and honest about repairs and I feel they do a thorough inspection. Alternative Autoworx has earned my continued patronage. read more

My wife's Subaru blew its radiator on the morning drive into work. By the time we could get the car towed to their shop it was after 3:00 PM. Needing the car for the next day's commute, Joel and his team were able to quickly diagnose the issue and have it repaired and ready to go by 6:00pm. They were extremely accommodating, professional and seemed trustworthy. Pricing was fair as well. I feel good about our experience with Alternative Autoworx and would recommend them to others. Thanks Joel and team! read more

This shop is the real deal for Subaru repair. They know these vehicles better than the dealers. They are honest, reasonably priced and very skilled. They did major engine work for me and did a flawless job. They have their own on site machine shop so they can oversee each aspect of your repair. Their engine repair warranty was 3 yrs/36 months while ALL competitors including dealers only warrantee for 1 yr/12 months. Relax, you found your new auto shop! read more

Had a rather poor experience with Joel. He was not only rude, but demining during my experience.

My husband and I took our 1999 Subaru Forester here and they were honest stand up guys that really helped us out and made sure our Subaru was going to keep going for us. A lot of places you never know if you can trust people but the guys at Alternative Autoworx are great and they fixed problems we weren't even aware we had. A huge thank you to Jesse and the guys!! read more

These guys are awesome. Really awesome. Have been getting our regular maintenance done here for a year now and couldn't be happier. Friendly and super helpful and always seem to go the extra mile. Our car runs like a dream whenever we pick it up. You can tell these guys love what they do. When we first purchased our car we needed some bigger work done.
