I couldn't be more unhappy with this situation. I asked for my water pump to be diagnosed and my tires to be rotated knowing that they weren't great and also knowing that I needed a new water pump. It cost em $90 to pressure test my water pump and then they didn't rotate my tires they just told me I need new ones... The diagnostics were done for an Audi which I already knew was going to need, and it was going to be roughly around $1,500 to 2000, But they still wanted to do diagnostics anyway. So they just 100% didn't listen to me at all. I was like you know what fine I don't want any of those extra services but I do want my water pump done and the other service, cleaning my valves. The lady I spoke with, she quoted me around $2,200. I set up the appointment and then when I got there the manager was like yeah that's going to be $2,500... I said sorry bud there's no way I'm spending an extra $300... Then went to another shop Was quoted $1,300!!! That's exactly half of what they were trying to charge me!!! They're trying to say that they can't warranty things for 4 years after being replaced... And that's why the cost is so astronomical because it has a 4-year warranty... I call bullshit. I will never ever bring any vehicle to any fine-tuned auto location. you scum are literally stealing people's hard-earned money!! And just to play devil's advocate I called the dealership cuz I assumed they'd be on par or maybe even more than this private company... Dealership quoted me $1,600 never go to fine tune auto!!!! The dealership quoted me $1,000 less than these thieves.. get that through your head folks The dealership was LESS money. I had my Toyota Camry in for a new radiator and new brakes, and they did a good job for a reasonable price. The front service advisors were not very friendly, but overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the work and timeliness of my car being returned. Since my first experience was a positive one, I decided to take my new to me Dodge Ram in for a diagnostic on a problem I encountered shortly after purchasing. Randomly, my truck would not start turning the key and nothing. After checking the battery charge and for any loose connections, I had it towed to Fine Tuned Auto. They said they couldn't find a problem it started for them, so I picked the truck up. A couple of days later, the problem occurred again, so I had it towed to Fine Tuned Auto once again. They performed an electrical diagnosis and found nothing. I had to pay for the diagnosis, which found nothing, so I took my truck home again. A couple of days later, the problem reared its ugly head once more. At this point, I am totally frustrated, so I start checking things out on my new to me truck myself. I am not mechanically or electrically inclined, but I solved the mystery myself. Unbeknownst to me, there's a power disconnect switch below the steering wheel in plain sight. To deactivate the starter, you simply pull the cover off when you leave the vehicle. It is mounted in such a way that your leg can loosen the cover while operating the pedals. It is an electrical disconnect to prevent vehicle theft. If an electrical diagnosis was done, the mechanic should have found this disconnect switch. At the very least, a good mechanic would see the switch and investigate since the problem was electrical in nature. It took a person without any electrical or mechanical training to diagnose this problem. I did not complain to the shop because the service advisor gave off a very bad vibe, so I figured that would be more stress than I care to deal with. I ate the diagnostic fee, which was not cheap, and figured lesson learned.. Good and honest repair shops are hard to find. I gave 2 stars because the repair work on my Toyota Camry would have been four stars ( subtracting 1 star for the surly service advisor). The failure on diagnostics for my Dodge Ram would be 0 stars, so I averaged my rating and came up with 2 stars. Needless to say, I will not be doing business with Fine Tuned Auto in the future and can not recommend them. read more

I was having recurring illumination of my VDC off and slip lights on a Nissan Altima. I didn't want to drive it too far to get repaired and I didn't have time to take it in until a Thursday evening. The front desk person answered all my questions over the phone, was super friendly, and very communicative. Also after checking in there was a coupon for $25 off, I don't know how long they will do that but it worked for me! Turns out I needed a new battery for my car and they were able to fix it in one day so I could have my car back before the weekend. I thought it was kind of expensive but don't have a ton of experience with car maintenance so I don't know how the prices compare to other places. Work completed on my vehicle was completed satisfactorily. My issue was with the original estimate of the work and the final bill - which was higher than originally estimated. After bringing this up to the service advisor I was never given a satisfactory explanation of the approximately 50% increase in the price - he seemed to "dance around" the issue and I wasn't completely comfortable with his reasoning. I even made an offer to split the difference (of the additional cost) and move on, but that wasn't okay on their end so I accepted the discount they offered just to get this over with and move on. read more

I warn anyone against trusting their vehicle to Fine Tuned Auto, Broomfield. These people do not stand behind their work, although they post a code of ethics claiming to stand behind their work. In fact, they ruined our perfectly good vehicle. Even though the manager I was working with admitted they were at fault, they have refused to make things right. I took our Jaguar X-type to Fine Tuned Auto for an oil change. After they phoned me that the work was completed, I picked up the car. The manager at the time told me that my car was in excellent condition. I had to drive from Broomfield to Fort Lupton and when I returned, there was oil dripping out from the engine of my car. When I opened the hood, the oil filler cap was laying loose on the engine and the entire engine compartment was full of oil. I called the manager, who had me drive it back to Fine Tuned Auto. He promised to make things right, and said he would have the same mechanic power wash the engine compartment and come to our house and clean up the oil that had spilled from the car, so that he would not make that mistake again. I agreed and returned the car for cleanup. I was again called to pick up my car. I drove it not more than 40 feet before stopping because the car was vibrating violently, and an odor was emanating from the engine. I backed up to Fine Tuned Auto, and the manager came out to see what was wrong. He was livid about the damage and said, "Do you smell that? He got the catalytic converter wet." He also thought that moisture (water) had leaked into the spark plugs. They removed the spark plugs and dried out the engine bay. When I picked up the car, the vibrating had stopped and the car appeared to be running normal. When I got home, which is a short distance from the auto shop, I noticed the check engine light was on. I took the car back to Fine Tuned Auto and their diagnostic showed that both the catalytic converters were going bad. Other issues with the car because of Fine Tune Auto's poor workmanship, has been the air conditioning not working two times. The first was a connection that came loose from the power washing. The second time was a wiring issue that Fine Tune Auto initially argued was not caused by their poor workmanship, but I insisted it was, and they finally agreed to rewire the AC pump (a cost of approximately $178.00). I also had to replace the windshield washer nozzle that was broken by the power washing. It was a $6.00 dollar item so I did not bring this to Fine Tune Auto's attention. After the day we discovered that the catalytic converters had been damaged by Fine Tuned Auto, a repair cost of approximately $3,000.00, the manager and all the personnel that I was working with left Fine Tuned Auto. Broomfield, or have been fired. The current manager will not take responsibility for the damage done to our vehicle. As a result of their carelessness and unprofessionalism, I now have a car (which was in great condition prior to Fine Tune Auto working on it) that cannot pass the emissions test in Colorado due to the damage to the catalytic converters that Fine Tune Auto did. read more

I had to get a water pump and thermostat replaced and the job was done the next day. I thought it was a little pricey compared to the KBB estimate but probably wouldn't have got a better price anywhere else local. They also do a veteran discount which helped a lot! I brought in my car with leaking oil problem with multiple sensor lights on. When I picked up my car, all my sensor lights were still on, and 2 days later, all my oil had leaked out again. I took it back and asked them to fix the problem for good this time, they said they could fix it, but it would be another $1000. So I said I wanted to take it for a 2nd opinion. Frank gave me a roll of the eyes, and gave me my keys back with disgust. I found out at the 2nd place that FTA had - not checked the PCV - had installed a gasket upside down - had forgotten to install an O - ring which can cause engine failure - had damaged multiple wires So now I had to get everything that FTA had damaged fixed, and get a new valve. When I picked up my car, all the engine warning lights were finally off and my car finally was not leaking oil. I will never take my car back to FTA. I was treated poorly, over charged, and the problem was not fixed, and further damage was done to my car. I asked for a partial reimbursement, and could not get a response from the manager. I will NEVER take my car there again, or give them a favorable review. read more

All I will say, I wish I read THESE reviews before bringing my car here, because a few other sites have rave reviews, which I would NOT agree with. It takes a lot for me to write a poor review because I always try to see all aspects to a situation (and let's be real, it takes time to do it), but this was an awful experience, so I felt it was necessary. For someone who uses and reads reviews to determine where to go for a service, I would not write this if I didn't feel it was a great/awful experience. Fine Tuned Auto (Broomfield) was recommended by Good Year Auto (who was great and honest), so I am unsure if there have been changed at FTA, but it was the worst experience. There are so many aspects that were frustrating to this whole process, for such a "small fix" (in their words) and in the end Dave (front desk) said they "wasted 4 hours on the phone w/ my ext warranty company" to sort things out... THAT IS YOUR JOB. I also spent hours on the phone w/ my warranty company trying to help because you had the incorrect assumption/information that I was still under warranty as the second owner of the vehicle. They (FTA) did not get authorization to work on my vehicle beyond diagnostics (he stated on the phone that I did though), they didn't send an invoice or findings w/ costs before working on my vehicle (only documents I got were sent day my car was DONE a week later and after I REQUESTED some sort of documentation of what was happening), after doing a diagnostic they thought I had manufacturer warranty and needed to go to a dealership (but pay the $188 diagnostics service to them - then I explained I no longer have that MW as it expired 2 months prior and currently have an ext warranty), they had my wrong email address and physical address for me, they had varying prices from what they submitted to insurance/what FTA in Longmont charges, said my ext warranty covered repairs but I still "owed $155 for "labor supplies"", said they charge $200 an hour (yet the FTA in Broomfield said they don't charge hourly, it's per the job, and I also was told my price was MORE ($188 vs $200) for a diagnostic because I went through my ext. warranty. Again, no documentation, invoice, diagnostic findings, until AFTER the work was completed. I also sent an email FROM my email account TWICE, as I know mistakes happen (possibly getting my email incorrect), but never heard back. Take the money out of it, the customer service, and level of professionalism was terrible and it's all about the principal of the fact. They didn't try to be transparent and/or communicate with me what was occurring, try to problem solve (ie. call my warranty company), or advocate for me in any way throughout the entire process, UNLESS I brought questions up. In the end, I found some coupon they actually applied to my bill, and I wanted to truly be done w/ the whole experience. None of the other issues were addressed that I stated above and I still paid more than my deductible (what I should have paid). BUT rest assured, they were sure to let me know, that they needed the rental back for a different customer. Even though I never got a call when my car was totally completed. I have gotten service here before and received a text that I was due for an oil change with a link to schedule an appt online. I scheduled it so I could come right after work. Little man at the front desk had a huge problem with this. When I tried to drop of my car, he went on a rant about not having enough techs and only one of them does oil changes because "they're just a body shop that sometimes does oil changes" and the online scheduler THEY SENT ME is somehow not connected to the schedule they see so they didn't even know I was coming. He also said "no one schedules this late in the day".. 1. It's an hour and a half before close and an oil change takes max half an hour. 2. YOUR SYSTEM LET ME SCHEDULE THIS TIME. I tried to point this out and suggest they limit the time people are allowed to schedule. He interrupted me and said that's not his job and they can't do anything to fix the system. I wouldn't have cared if he apologized for not being able to help me today and just offered options, but the weird guilt tripping and blaming me for their faulty system was insane. My girlfriend took her car here. She had to take it back twice to fix their work (only replacing spark plugs) and now her car won't start and they are playing dumb! If You paid 3k you'd want to be able to drive your car away too. Do not take your car here the mechanics are just there for a check and looking to cut corners. I'll be following up on this. Update: I read up and realized this new issue with the ignition happens when a car is stolen or if something that is not the right key is jammed into the ignition. When we dropped the car off there were two Toyotas in the lot, they called when they were working on the car saying they couldn't get it started (we never had this issue before - sounds like they were using the wrong key??) they end up getting it started to go back and then pull it up front. And then when she goes to leave it doesn't start and now it doesn't start again? Sounds like they messed up and don't want to own up to it because two men felt comfortable teaming up against a woman. Normally, I recommend Fine Tuned Auto in Broomfield, but my visit today was disappointing. I scheduled an oil change (online). My appt was at 12:00. At 12:45, I saw that my car hadn't been moved from the parking lot. I went to the front desk and told Justin my car was still sitting and I didn't think I could wait any longer. He asked me which car, went back to the shop, came back and handed me my keys. No "sorry about that", no nothing. Pretty poor customer service, which is unusual for them. I made an appointment online with this company after reading reviews. I had noted a possible problem with my suspension or struts since my car felt like something felt off while driving. I requested the mechanic look over the vehicle to see if he/she could determine if I needed to replace or fix something that was malfunctioning. The mechanic drove my car to replicate my perceived issue. He said he drove on rough as well as smooth roads and never felt any issue. He placed the car on a lift and looked underneath it for any visual issues. He could not find any problem such as a leak or broken part. He invited me into the garage to look too while explaining everything he did. I was prepared to pay for his services, however he waived his fees. I was pleasantly surprised; he made my day! I felt he treated me with respect and did not condescend or take advantage of me as a woman. I will be taking my car back to this business when I need maintenance or repairs. read more

Worst experience ever. They had my car for 6 WEEKS and only called twice to tell me they are still working on it....HAHA, what BS. Don't trust them in any way. They obviously lied and made my car worse. It sat there and collected dust the entire time. I originally brought it in for a tune up, about 2 hours later, everything went bad. They claimed it was a bad plug. They changed the plugs and said it was fixed. Picked it up and drove out of their parking lot and it was ten times worse. Brought it back and it sat in their shop for 6 frigin weeks. Never once did they apologize. Weeks would go by without even a phone call. Finally I found an email address to complain to and the next day I received a call from DJ, a Store Director who was very nice and concerned about the entire situation. He immediately sent the vehicle to people more competent and proactive. They called me every day to let me know what was going on. Unlike Broomfield, they made it drivable again. Although, I had to put in another $1000 for a fuel pump and they they wanted another $1900 for a motherboard or something. I finally said no. I put enough into it and don't want to keep forking out money to experiment on the possible problem. After all that, I got a whole $100 off for my troubles! HA! After spending a few thousand, I got $100 back. That was from Erie though. Absolutely nothing from Broomfield. As I said, not even an apology. Just screwed a customer and didn't care in any way. I would be very careful about the shop in Broomfield. One of my spark plugs (which I had installed myself and purchased from O'Reilly's ) blew out of the spark plug port while I was driving. I took it to Goodyear on Yukon St in Westminster. They recommended taking it to Fine Tuned Auto to check it for damage. I reinstalled one of the plugs from O'Reily's and rove it up to Fine Tuned Auto. Eventually when they got to look at my car, they said that I had the wrong spark plug . It did not go deep enough into the spark plug port. (Keep in mine I installed these plugs myself). So they sold me supposedly a different plug , plus a set of new spark plug cables. Which I agreed to. Then they called me up and told me the ignition coil had blown out when they tried to drive it. So now I needed an ignition coil. No charge on the installing the coil. I subsequently went to O'Reilly's and showed them the invoice . The plugs that Fine Tuned Auto stalled were the same length as the ones I had except nickel coated. Not impressed with this place at all. We really thought it was going to be good since it's AAA approved. We had an appointment at 11. They called at 4 saying my transmission needed serviced. But they needed 3 hours to do it. And I would need to make another appointment for that. Well, if they checked my car at 11 they could have easily fixed it in that time. But they didn't even look at my car until 3:30. We went to pick up this car and our other car we had serviced at the same time - both had appointments at 11. And it wasn't ready until 6. My Silverado needed a lot of work so I had to go more deeply in debt than I would have liked but this shop's pricing is competitive with other shops. I brought my car to this place mainly for a valve cover gasket job and several other things. They recommended a clean and dye service to detect leaks following a few hundred miles after the gasket job. They informed me of a few things not related to the gaskets. A few days later my other trusted mechanic tells me the valve cover is cracked from being over tightened and is vomiting oil. Fined Tuned Auto took the car back and replaced the cover. Within five minutes of leaving after the replacement, I get several lights on the dash and take it right back. The alternator is failing from being saturated with oil. They said they had informed me of some oil possibly getting in there from prior leaks. I have no record of this, but I do have record of other things they diagnosed. The alternator was directly under the corner in the cover they cracked that leaked who knows how many quarts of oil. Did oil get in there before? Possibly. Did the damage they caused accelerate the problem? Probably. The guys at the front desk were kind and professional, but I left there once with a new problem that the clean and dye service I paid for missed. Now I've left with a different new problem and according to them they're not responsible. If you want my advice, go somewhere else. I have been going to Kenny at Fine Tuned Auto for over 6 years. I have always been treated kindly and fully trust the work done on the car. A couple times my car was low on oil before the required oil change. I dropped by Fine Tuned Auto and Kenny added a couple cans of oil. When asked how much I owe for the oil his comment always was, "Don't worry about it now - we will take care of it when you get the oil changed". Kenny makes recommendations for repairs if needed but will also say what can wait a few more miles. Perhaps the work could be done for a cheaper price but the quality and trust in the shop is worth a few more dollars to me. read more

Took in my 2007 Honda Civic to replace a broken motor mount and wheel bearing. Kenny and Sabrina were complete professionals, friendly and a pleasure to work with.
