If I could give them a 10 star rating I would. This shop honestly made my YEAR! As a young woman, it's intimidating sometimes to get my car looked at, and it has been having issues for a while. I don't know much about cars, but now I know much about Accountable Auto Cares character, and they blew me away with their honesty, integrity, and selflessness. I've never been treated with the amount of respect by any other mechanic in my life. Micheal was my main point of contact. Not only did they give me a complimentary loaned car for the day, but they ended up NOT charging me a DIME when they found my car had issues that only my dealership would be able to take care of. He said "It wouldn't feel right to charge you for a service that provided no real solution to your problem" This auto care center cares only about people, not money. The shop is clean and there is a small waiting area with coffee machine, TV, code for free WiFi, and station to charge your phone, tablet, laptop etc. They offer loaner cars (when available and depending on the service you're getting) You get a detailed account of what was done (or is needed) along with pictures and updates (if desired) by text. The pricing is fair. If you're looking for a cheap mechanic then you'll get what you pay for. Accountable is not the cheapest and not the most expensive. read more

Took my car in to take a look underneath since I had hit some ice and was hearing a rattling type noise when I accelerated. Called this shop and found it easy to set up an appointment, but had no idea a diagnostic check for a noise would cost me $120. They said it was an axel nut that needed to be replaced and that it would cost another $120. I agreed. They had my car to fix the axle but, thinking that would solve the problem, only to get a call saying that it was still making noise and it needed another axel nut, but that was an additional $120. I was furious. I called back and told them to why they didn't tell me that to begin with and it was just a mess. Long story short. They didn't have me pay for the axel but since they had already charged me 120 for the diagnostic, but also kicked me out. They said they never wanted to see my car there again (red flag). Got the car and the noise was exactly the same and my wheel felt super weird. Never going back there again. I took it to another mechanic I trust and they stated that it was never an axel nut to begin with and that those mechanics are CROOKS. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY AND CAR YOU don't WANT THE HEADACHE, trust me read more

My truck was reading a high coolant temperature from the cold snap in December 2022. I took it to Accountable Auto because they were the only repair shop available on short notice before Christmas. They told me it would be up to $200 for diagnostic but said if it was a lessor effort it would be lower. I thought that for sure it would be lower so I agreed and left my truck with him. I got a call later that the engine cylinder head sensor was bad and needed to be replaced for a grand total of $450. This seemed high because the part is $10-15 the labor shouldn't take more than 15-30 minutes (so $110-130 max for a rounded up hour) for the replacement of that part. I know for a fact all he did was attach an OBD scanner to my truck and ran the code (10 min). I thought this was strange so I went back and talked to him. I said I could do it myself and took my truck back. I was still charged $200 for "diagnostics" and feel that I was ripped off for that at least. When I got my truck back it ran fine and likely only needed the code reset to read normally again. Even if this isn't the case this job should have costed $150 MAX for replacement but I was charged $200 dollars just for diagnosis. These guys are clearly trying to take advantage of people with lesser knowledge of cars and trucks. I will replace the part myself if I get the code again and will save a ton of money. These guys are CROOKS! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Based off previous positive experience, partner decides to bring Nissan Frontier to Accountable Auto Care to address shifter not getting into Reverse. Later in afternoon, office calls to convey the transmission needs to be replaced and quotes ~$2800. When she asks to be forwarded an estimate with a pricing breakdown, is told she would get a call back later to provide accurate information. No call back & shop closes for the day. She calls the following morning, today, and speaks to the owner Mark who, to her inquiry, replies "I don't know know why you'd need to see that". It's a reasonable practice to see what you're paying for before approving a job- why was Mark withholding of this information? We were about to approve the job and move forward after a simple run-through of the estimate but instead was spoken to in an unprofessional and diminutive tone. Since the owner refused to share the estimate info with us, it was an obvious decision to pick up the vehicle and take it somewhere else. Upon picking up the truck, the doors were unlocked, one window rolled down, and smelled of cigarette smoke as somebody had clearly smoked inside or in the immediate vicinity- demonstrating a clear lack of respect for others' property. Your company name is truly a misnomer as you don't hold yourself accountable to the standard of service, professionalism, and respect that customers deserve, when there are plenty of honest mechanics out there. I had a couple of issues that needed to be addressed for my 89 Ford Bronco...leaking transmission and bad idle (idling jumping up and down). I dropped my vehicle off early Monday morning after speaking with the owner (Mark Gurnsey). Received no update all day Monday/Tuesday and Mark finally called me on Wednesday afternoon stating that they could not find a leak with the transmission (What?) and that the egr valve, egr sensor, IACV and connector tested bad and would need to be replaced for roughly $1200. I opted to proceed and Mark stated that they should have it done by the end of the next day (Thursday). They didn't call Thursday/Friday which surprised me since they are closed on the weekend. It was almost 5pm on Monday and still no phone call so I opted to call them. Mark said they were waiting on the egr connector to come in. Mark then called on Wednesday afternoon right before they were closing stating that they wanted to keep the car there as they had made all the repairs and it still was not idling correctly (it had been 10 days at this point). He suggested that it may need a new throttle body and/or have the ecc replaced which would be roughly another $1000. I called them back on Thursday and asked questions and Mark stated that they would be getting the throttle body that was an "exact" fit/OEM so I said I would think it over. I then called on Friday and spoke to someone name Cheryl who was rude and stated that she was "shocked" that Mark even took my Bronco into the shop (another red flag that they did not know what they were doing). Mark then called me back and it turns out he would be ordering the same throttle body that I could get on Amazon which had bad reviews (I felt I had to squeeze the truth out of him). Mark turned very defensive and agitated and had the nerve to state that I have had his loaner vehicle for some time now and that he had other customers that needed it (like I wouldn't rather have my vehicle back). I expressed that I went almost 5 days w/o an update from him and picked up my vehicle at that point on Friday. We had a somewhat cordial conversation and Mark admitted to "dropping the ball" several times. The paperwork did not have a full break down of cost and the price dropped by $75 or so after I asked for a full break down (another red flag). I provided Mark a check for the full amount of $1288.42 which he cashed that weekend. I drove off his lot and it ran terrible...it still was not idling right (up/down) and was idling too high at a stop which was a new issue. Also, it seemed to have a strange new sound coming from the engine compartment when I first started it up. I drove it right back and Mark's mechanic Johnny was still there. We went for a drive and he verified that it was not running correctly and would not accelerate and that Mark did not let him know. It turns out that they drove my vehicle around so much while testing for 12 days that it was almost out of gas which they failed to notice (red flag) so we added gas before heading back and that fixed the new acceleration issue. I noticed that the throttle body cover plate was missing and that the transmission dip stick had not even been fully pushed back into place which are very basic things (red flag). Johnny was able to retrieve the cover. I am left with a vehicle that idles worse than when I brought it to them and now I have a new "exhaust leak" issue that was not there prior to this work. I called Mark on Tuesday and explained this and expected some compassion and compromise but got the exact opposite. He stated that I depressed the gas pedal down all the way when test driving it and blew an exhaust manifold gasket (as if nobody ever presses their gas pedal down all the way) and w/o even looking at the vehicle to verify his claim and isn't willing to fix the idle issue that I paid for. Mark said I was rude and doesn't want my vehicle at his shop but couldn't provide an example when I asked him. He is making up lies and excuses at this point since he doesn't know how to repair my older vehicle. read more

So car repairs BLOW. (No offense to AAC but I'm sure they agree.). Nothing's worse than getting into your car to go to work or a doctors appointment or whatever and your car doesn't start. My husband and I were trying to avoid this issue and brought our Honda Fit to AAC for a weird knocking we heard on our drivers side. I scheduled it the day prior and figured I'd leave our car there and $800 dollars, 4 days later, we'd have it back and running. No, that was not the case. First off, the guys at ACC are great, prompt, and entirely trustworthy. I was skeptical but when one of them came to me with a stapled pack of papers to go over with me I quickly learned that I made the right choice. Right away they walked me through the major issue that caused the knocking but also went through minor issues and maintenance we should be aware of. They told me what was obligated to be done and what could wait since they knew, like most folks who walk in with a ten year old car, we were broke. By far the best car place I've been to and we got our car the very next day! read more

I have been taking my car to Accountable Auto Care for many years, and I can honestly say that this is the best auto repair shop that I've ever been to. And I've been to a lot of them over the years. Mark, the owner, is always friendly and eager to help. He's always been patient when explaining what is wrong with my car and he always gives me lots of options. I always feel like he gives me at least two options: the expensive one that most shops would recommend and the cheaper option that will keep my vehicle running but not drain my bank account. You don't get that second option at too many shops. Even if I don't pick the cheaper option, his prices have always been reasonable. I've also gone to him for lots of vehicle upgrades, and he does a great job with that, too. He's especially good at working with 4x4 vehicles, and it seems like he's always working on someone's Jeep. I've seen some impressive vehicles in his shop. He also has some loaner cars if you need one. His shop is busy and he has a comfortable waiting area with a TV and free coffee, but sometimes you can't wait around. All of these things would normally warrant a rating of 4 or so, but Accountable Auto Care has another bonus in my eyes. It's so clean it's almost odd. Everyone who works there is clean and the shop is about as clean as a shop could be. I've never had my car come back dirtier than it was when I dropped it off, and that means a lot to me. Most of the other shops I've seen have been disgusting;y filthy and covered in oil, and I don't know how he keeps everything so clean. I found Accountable when my mechanic moved there from another shop AND my neighbor recommended the shop. I've found Mark to be very helpful and forthright with information. I don't feel he's trying to do all work possible in order to make $$. He's told me that some things were not worth getting done on an old car or two I've taken in and he's also helped me figure out which items were most important to take care of and which could wait. I loved my visit to Accountable Auto Care. I was looking for a place for an oil change and to check my maintenance light. I tried them out. They were very honest and straight telling me what is wrong with my car. They explained things to me in terms I was able to understand not just getting mechanical terms. While they work on your car they give you a car to drive with till yours is done. They also give you a key chain card once you get 5 oil changed with them you get the next one free. Accountable auto is the shop to go to. I've been so pleased with Mark and his guys. Their prices are fair and their work is outstanding. To me quality is most important because my wife's suburban has to go back-and-forth to school and sometimes to the mountains. I can't have a problem while going up the hill. When winter comes around they make sure everything squared away for the season. And in summer I always have them do a check because we go to my grandpas in Missouri. They've had to diagnose my car in a couple of times and they really got it down right the first time. In the past I've been at a repair shop said it seem like they were just guessing. They would keep replacing sensor after sensor and telling me i needed other things. Mark (owner) and Aaron are amazing. I went in to have my brakes replaced because the dealership told me it was time. Mark and Aaron told me I had at least another 3000 miles and then I could do my oil change at the same time. I really appreciated them giving me advice that could allow me to extend the life of the brakes and do the oil change when necessary (I run a high-quality synthetic and I don't need to do an oil change very often). When they did the oil change, they found that grease monkey had broken the air filter holder so they replaced that for me. It made me realize that I truly do need to go to a specialist even for oil changes. There is a great waiting room with wireless and I was able to do all of my work while they quickly replaced my brake pads and rotors. Thanks to both of you. read more

This was the best first experience with a mechanic, woke up one morning to my car not starting, called around to all mechanics in my area, they were the only one with a honest and fair price to see what was going on, got it towed in same day, the guy checked everything out and found it was an issue with my timing chain(a common problem in the model of my car) quoted my a decent price compared to other places I talked to, had it finished for me in a week and now I'm back on the road!! I found this place on Yelp after the alternator belt on my Tacoma broke and I needed my truck serviced quickly. I called them in the morning to see about availability and they were able to get me in that day for the repair. The receptionist was very friendly and offered to shuttle me home while they worked on my vehicle, but fortunately I already had a ride coordinated. I left with the expectation that I'd return in about two hours, per their estimate. The work took longer than expected, which isn't a problem, but I would have liked for a little better communication from them regarding the repair. I ended up calling them a couple times to get a status update, once at around 3 hours in and once at around 5 hours in. I certainly wouldn't request an update on everything, but it would have been nice to get a call when they realized that they would miss the two hour window that they had originally estimated. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, Mark was at the front desk and explained everything in detail and took care of processing my payment. Their prices seemed reasonable and I'm confident in the work they performed. read more

Mark is an honest and fair mechanic who will not over charge you for services. I took quite a few cars to him for prepurchase inspections and he gave me an honest review every single time. He goes over vehicles with a fine tooth comb and makes sure to never miss a thing. After purchasing a vehicle that he inspected and gave me the okay on, I brought it back to have the rear brakes changed. The SUV was done in a reasonable amount of time and he charged me a very fair price. I will continue to do business with him and look forward to it in the future. read more

My family has known Mark, the owner, for a really long time, around 20 years I believe. He and his mechanics do an absolutely fantastic job, and they are totally honest as well, which can sadly be a hard thing to find anymore (honest mechanics). Normally I do my own repairs and maintenances, but whenever there is a task which is a bit too intimidating or jarring for me, I take it to them. For example, recently they replaced my clutch (which I couldn't really have done myself because it requires a lift since you have to drop the transmission and remove both axles, being that it's FWD), I've put almost 2,000 miles on the new clutch and had no issues at all so far. When I got my car back, I noticed they had stuck some bolts here and there around my car where they had previously been missing, which to me screams how honest they are...I mean I hired them to replace my clutch, which they not only did a fantastic job of, but they did more than that without even telling me about it, these guys really genuinely want to make sure you get back out on the road in the absolute best shape possible, highly highly recommended!! read more

I've recently moved to the Denver area, and I'm glad that I found these guys. I told Mark (the owner) that my 11-year old Durango had a check engine light on, and it probably needed some other work. He was able to fix the engine light issue, and he only suggested ONE other thing - a new serpentine belt (which was overdue anyway). Mark is great. I like that I confirmed my appointment via email. I took my car in b/c I thought it had a water leak. They looked at it and came back with the answer: it's was just my ac b/c of all the hot and humid weather. And the price??? Z E R O. This is the second time I have used them. Took my car here in dec. 2015, for clicking in my steering when turning and an alignment ( toe in toe out) was charged by them for taking my car out for a drive to feel the steering. . . 25.76 . it was not for work actually done, just a test drive. and was charged for that ( most places do not charge for that. The invoice said worn and rusty front sway bar links , at the bottom of invoice it says in parenthesis recommendations Stabilizer bar links. And I was charged for an alignment . Took my car into another auto repair in May 2016, was told those sway bar links are very tight and no play but on further examining of the other parts under there connected with the steering, the tech told me that the idler arm and the pitman arm is worn out and that is why the driving is clicking and sloppy. And he could not give me an alignment because it would not hold . This car had the same driving in dec as it has now. That should have been caught by accountable and was not. I feel these people are very dishonest and do not know what they are talking about and giving mis diagnosis and have nerve to charge for even just looking at your car, this place is a farce. Do not go here. Also my husband brought in his car at the same time for leaking antifreeze . And that is too funny as well, he was told he needed a water pump and that was a lie. The leak was found in the manifold of the car not the water pump. That pump was not leaking at all. So if I were you I would not take my car here. . . TAKE IT ELSE WHERE. . read more

I took my SUV there because I couldn't put my car in park. They quoted me $109. When it was all said and done I was told that my heater vent had to be removed in order to fix the real problem. So I ended up paying $547. 2 days later when I went to turn on my heater, it only put out cold air. So took it back and told them they forgot to hook my heater back up. The receptionist made it very clear that my heat had not been toughed in anyway. When I reminded her what she said, she stated that I heard her incorrectly and wanted me to pay $98 to find out what was wrong with it. When I told her that I would just contact the BBB instead, she asked for my keys and they took my car back. After an hour her was talking with Mark the owner and her told her the Blend Door needed to be replaced. He told her to add 2 extra hours of labor and to mark up the cost of the part from $25.00 to $124. I was 5 feet away. I was told that to fix it it would cost me $590 to fix it. Sil Ter Har Ford quoted me $222. I went to Auto Zone and paid $18.99 for the part. I watched a video on YouTube and fixed it in less than an hour. I am very disappointed that I was treated this way and feel like they need to change their business name as they are truly not accountable for their errors and mistakes. read more
