A thank you to the crew on Jessup…read more I brought my vehicle in late after closing. I received a repair cost estimation for the following morning. I approved the major service repair; however, I did not expect to have the repair completed the same day! Thank you for your diligent assessment and immediate repair that I did not expect. I am a returned client, and I highly recommend Bullet Automotive to repair your vehicle.

I REALLY want to this to be our go to shop for all vehicles but it did not work out. We initially…read morehad a positive experience with Bullet Automotive. The staff were friendly, and we appreciated that their inspection and estimate process was clearly explained. We began using the shop in April 2026, for our Subaru and Dodge for preventative maintenance. Bullet provided estimates for recommended work, and we approved the items we considered necessary while declining others. At the time, we mentioned that the Dodge was making a whooshing noise when the air conditioning was running. We were told that neither vehicle had any major issues. A month later, the Subaru failed an emissions test. The failure was not related to any of the declined items listed in Bullet's estimate. We were advised that the spark plugs were the likely cause, so we authorized that work at a cost of approximately $770. The vehicle AGAIN failed emissions. Bullet performed a complimentary diagnostic but was unable to identify the cause. We were advised to drive the vehicle more before having it retested, which we did, but it still failed. We ultimately replaced a sensor based on information we found independently (which was NOT in any quote they provided), after which the Subaru passed emissions by a significant margin. Around the same time, the Dodge's whooshing noise intensified. Bullet invited us to bring it back for a complimentary diagnostic because it had been recently been inspected. We were told the coolant level was very low and paid approximately $500 for a recharge. We had already added coolant ourselves, but this information did not appear to change their diagnosis of the vehicle. In August 2026, the Dodge AC began blowing hot air. We called Bullet and were told to bring it in, with the understanding that the diagnostic fee would be waived because it was the same issue that we had already been in for on two occasions in the last three months. When the vehicle was dropped off, a technician told us the fee would NOT be waived because it had already been waived once. So we paid for multiple AC recharges and another inspection. We were not happy. We were then told that a component had cracked, and we paid to have it repaired. The following day, we were informed that the hose was also defective and that the labor cost would be substantial. We paid to have the hose replaced as well. The staff were courteous, and we initially hoped Bullet would become our regular repair shop. However, based on our experience, several diagnoses and repairs that did not resolve the underlying problems for not one but two of our vehicles, and we incurred additional costs and repeat visits. It is possible that our vehicles presented unusually difficult issues, but we have ultimately decided to use a different shop for future repairs. Coming here always felt like we were paying for their trial and error approach to fixing things.

IF YOU WANT TO BE TALKED TO LIKE YOU ARE AN IDIOT COME HERE!!…read more After reading the great reviews I was excited to hopefully have a place to bring my VW. I should have noticed that all the reviews were years old. I called about an issue with my car first thing in the morning. I started with explaining how I just moved to the area and how I use my car for work. I said that I was desperately looking for someone to look at my cooling system because I may have air blocked somewhere and my car was overheating without triggering the thermostat. I said I was sure I just needed a proper bleed. I finished with asking if it was anyway possible they could see my car today, as I need it to be able to work. CJ then cuts me off and says, "well you should have just started with that." I heard what he said but I didn't pay it any mind because I figured he's just a grumpy mechanic. Way to fit that stereotype, CJ. I also understand that people are busy, so I was trying to be quick. But what really was unsettling was when he asked me if i changed it myself. I said that I did and went to add more info, then be blatantly cuts me off after three words and says, "I just needed to know if you changed it yourself, sorry I'm not trying to be rude." Are you sure about that CJ? Because you don't really have to try with how condescending you were from the start. Then he said, "well you're supposed to change the thermostat with every coolant flush". Ok, great. I'm obviously leaning so maybe keep your condescending tone to yourself? Then he does what EVERY shop does and says they can get me in and "hopefully someone cancels but there's no guarantee". Did you not remember that I said I needed it done today? You could have avoided talking to me in the beginning if you just said that you won't be able to see my car today. That's all I wanted to know. I understand that it's practically impossible to get a shop to look at your car the day of. I'm not stupid. But I figured there wouldn't be harm to at least ask. After all, I was looking for a shop I can trust to service my car often, because as I said, I rely on my car for work and I'm new to town. Well your small business is out of my business and since I drive hundreds of Boulderites around monthly I'll make sure to tell them to avoid this place, especially CJ. I did find a shop close by who asked questions and was genuinely concerned about me as a customer, AND they were willing to look at my car within the hour. THATS HOW YOU SERVE! If I wanted this kind of treatment I would have taken my car to Volkswagen. And by the way, an overly cocky and condescending mechanic is so 20 years ago.
