I came here for the first time to get the 60,000 mile service done on my 2011 Forester. The service was excellent, in my opinion. They offer a rewards program where every 4th oil change is free. That is great for me because my car takes the full synthetic, which runs about $80 per oil change. We needed a ride to another auto mechanic shop nearby to get my boyfriend's jeep, and they gave us free, private shuttle service immediately. I dropped my car off at 10, and they called me at 4 to let me know that it was ready, and it was about $100 cheaper than the 60,000 mile service I got on my 2008 Impreza Outback Sport back in Pennsylvania. I will definitely be returning here for future maintenance. read more

Service Department is subpar at best. They have a lot of business, and so it seems that losing customers is not a concern. Just try calling (good luck with that), I was forwarded around to at least 4 different people and was on hold for 40 minutes. When I asked about a supervisor, I was told that there was none on duty. I would recommend other options. read more

Recently my boyfriend and I were car shopping and in that process we went to four different dealerships (2 Mazda and 2 Subaru) and we decided to buy new from Flatirons. They had the best salespeople, inventory, and environment. Not only that but they gave us the highest trade-in value and a reasonable price on our new vehicle. They made us feel very comfortable and NEVER pressured us to buy. read more

I've never had a bad experience with these guys. Mostly the service side as I bought my car at a different dealer but always professional, fairly quick service and have always been provided multi-point inspection and car wash for free. I bring my dog in and they all love her. Their coffee and cookies are good. I have only great things to say about Flatirons Subaru. So far they have earned my customer loyalty no question. read more

YOU WILL LOSE MONEY, TIME AND PIECES OF YOUR CAR. STAY AWAY. REVIEW FOR TWO DIFFERENT TRIPS TO PARTS/ SERVICE- do not go here for parts recalls or service! I have had two very negative experiences in the last year here. The first time my headlight was damaged by a jiffy lube who offered to pay for it at the dealer to get t fixed quickly for safety. Flatirons Subaru told me they could fix it quickly 1-2 days and ended up keeping it for five and I had to pay for a rental car for five days. They didn't return phone calls, they didn't care, I waited in long lines, they have terrible communication. I thought that had to Be just a bad day or a fluke. Fast forward to me getting a recall for my '05 imprezas airbag. First I called and the guy in parts told me it would be a 4-6 month wait for the part and I told him the letter says the parts are ready and he said I don't know what to tell you. I asked about how it said no passenger should ride in your front seat and be told me he "rolls the dice" with his wife. I got on the list. I was surprised a few weeks later when they called and said they had the part. Each person I talked to gave me a different time frame. My supposedly easy car took four hours. I got the oil change done bc I figured I should. They went over the checklist- everything was in great shape- some young guy pulls my car up- leaves it running with CHECK ENGINE, ABS, CRUISE CONTROL and BRAKE lights all flashing. I don't even leave the LOT and go in and tell them. We spend over an hour waiting and get told a fan motor is broken and just happened to coincidentally brake between the time the guy had my car back there for four hours and then time the other guy drove it around front to me. Are you kidding me???? That's ridiculous. Now I have to pay to get that fixed which I absolutely will not do there. I have heard dealers are sketchy but I have never seen this behavior before. Don't take your car there for any reason - between incompetence and not enough employees to handle their workload you will leave with more problems. Not to mention my wife and I overhead many other problems including this dealership putting the wrong size wiper blade on a woman's car and coming after her about it. So incompetent!!!!! Horrible service. read more

Ok so this review is for the Subaru side of the dealership but when I went to check in it only allowed me the Acura option. I REALLY wanted to give this place 4 or even 5 stars as the sales negotiation phase of our purchasing my girl's 2016 Crosstrek was nothing short of phenomenal. We were dealing with Fred Rudd and he communicated very well through the negotiation phase and was a joy to deal with on the day we actually purchased the vehicle. He got us a fair price for our trade in and was most accommodating with a few items that we noticed on the day of delivery, namely a small dent on the pillar of the passenger side front door. He drew up the paperwork notating the damage and promised to get us squared away at a future date. Now this is where it gets a little frustrating. Apparently the gentleman who does these repairs is only available on Mondays and Tuesdays. Apparently there's no flexibility here so now we will have to find time from our jobs to have this done on a Monday or Tuesday. The other issue that we had was when we had the Permaplate installed on her vehicle. Everything was supposed to be set up but the hand off was very lacking. We showed up to the service department at around 9 o'clock when we were supposed to and nobody seemed to know about what we were talking about. We finally found the worker at the front desk and she had some keys for us and said they belong to a Subaru Impreza but she didn't know where it was parked. Luckily for us it was just right outside a little bit so we didn't have to walk around the lot pushing the fob trying to find our loaner vehicle. Now don't get me wrong I understand there are other customers out there buying cars and now that we've got ours we probably fall low on the priority list but it would be nice to have some consistent communication at least until we get our vehicle fully fixed to our satisfaction. I am in the process of trying to get her car in and left a voice mail last Thursday evening to see if we can get the pillar fixed but so far no return call. In closing, it'd be nice for Flatirons after sale to be as stellar as their during sales process. If that were the case I'd easily give this place 5 stars. read more

I recently purchased a brand new car from Jeremy at Flatirons. The whole experience was so easy and enjoyable. I love my car and I will definitely go back to see Jeremy IF I decide to trade this one in. read more

I recently had the airbag replaced as part of the Takata recall and Flatirons is my closest dealer. After receiving the car back, I noticed that my backup lights were on all the time. After scaring quite a few drivers thinking I was about to reverse into them I brought it back to Flatirons as it seemed the air bag replacement (and removal of the dash/console) might have bumped/broken the little actuator that controls the lights. It turns out that the part that malfunctioned was actually located near the transmissions and had nothing to do with the recall repair. Without me asking for anything, they went ahead and decided to do a one time "good will" repair, replaced the switch and saved me over $200. Cannot say enough good things about Flatirons Subaru and their Service Department. read more

I believe as customers we have good experiences and bad ones, My time at Flatirons has so far been good. I have had crazy bad experiences at other shops. However, Keith and Mike have been totally amazing with helping me with my 2004 Subaru. My issue was with another Dealer and these guys stepped up to the plate. Granted, my problem with the car still exists. But these guys went far beyond the call of duty to help me. Maybe I'll have to live with my mechanical issue, but these guys were super to me. Thanks........ read more

I did a review about 2 years ago, 2 stars and then upgraded to 3, but think my recent experiences warrant a new review and a new upgrade in my rating. Subaru has been one of my favorite brands for many years, I have considered myself a brand loyalist. A couple of years ago I decided to buy my first brand-new Subaru, a '14 forester. Unfortunately I think I got a lemon this time, the car has had a few problems from the very beginning (nothing major since problems were taken care of expediently, but could have been major if I was further away and drove it for a long time). The first problem occurred in my first two weeks with the car, I took it back and they repaired it; service was not good at the time: took forever to get help, etc. Not what I expected for a brand new car driven off their lot. Subaru gave me an extended warranty since I was afraid that problem was an indicator of more problems to come. I'm glad I have the extended warranty. The car has had a couple more small problems, more recently oil was leaking due to a bad cam seal or something like that. It's kind of a major problem as I drive long distances. Took a bit over to get an appointment. But, the service department was much more responsive and cordial than they have been in the past. I feel there have been some improvements with the service. A note about the '14 Forester, I have had a few parts inside the car break, such as a cup holder and sunglass compartment. Some stuff made of plastic in the interior was very poorly designed; waiting for more stuff to break...sadly. Although I'm a bit disappointed with Subaru because of this experience, I'll give Flatirons some credit for their service. read more

So, we have been to this business more than once. Everyone is absolutely awesome. The one person who has always went out of her way to get us back on the road is Liz B. She is someone who knows how to build trust with her customers and she treats every one with a lot of respect. I was turned down by a Subaru dealer in Denver( because " it was too close to closing time"), and showed up to Flatirons late Saturday with my Suby on a tow truck. Liz, simply took control of the tow truck, my car (who needed some repairs) and made me comfortable, no worries. More recently( a few days ago) she help me with some car issues , got me into a loaner and fix the car in short time. She is truly a remarkable person and my husband and i are very grateful. Best car dealer, and best service consultant! Thank you. lorena and john read more

This place is definitely too busy to provide even average customer service. I spent 15 minutes on hold while my car was in their care and was hung up on. Then I was called at 5pm and told my car needs to stay there over night to figure out what my problem was after being there all day. You'd think that they can figure out what the problem was after having the car all day and nothing but the trunk not opening. read more

Left my car overnight even though I had a checkup appointment set the day before. They said they would have it done the next day, but when I called to ask when it would be done, at 4:30, they told me they couldn't get around to it even though they had all day. They said they could keep it over the rest of the weekend but wouldn't be able to get it done. They also did not have a rental car they could loan me. So now I have to settle for minimal maintenance (an oil change) and a car wash. They said they will comp it (even though I'm still in warranty so it was free anyway)... But I just picked my car up and the service couldn't have been better after the mistake, they were incredibly apologetic and helped me schedule a new appointment and gave me $50 in credit. I wrote this at two different times and I have to say they made up for their misstep. read more

This place and the people who work here are awesome! I have done business with both the sales department as well as service. I bought my Subaru here roughly three years ago and Mike R made it a very positive and easy experience. He was able to help me get into the car I wanted and stay within my budget. Most recently I worked with the service department and they were such a tremendous help!!! I live in Breckenridge and had a shop up here quote me double what my warranty deductible is and say that most likely my car would not be covered under warranty. I am so happy that I made the drive to Boulder where they let me know everything was under warranty. Jenn in the service department was so incredibly helpful and fun to talk to and work with. She made me feel so comfortable with taking the loaner car for an extra few days since I live so far from the shop. Everything through the service department was done in such a timely fashion. I will most definitely be driving to Boulder from here on out for all of my services! read more

I can't give enough praise to the service dept for taking care of my newly purchased used '15 Subaru legacy from a private seller. I am extremely grateful for their efforts to resolve existing issues I inherited with pure professionalism and generosity. I have read some other reviews and I have to comment that I believe it is impossible to be perfect all the time and as busy as the service dept gets it is understandable that things don't go right every time. What pleases me is that I can see a willingness from the dealership to try to rectify dissatisfied customers complaints and to continue improving their commitment to service the best they can. I'll continue to make the drive, prepare to wait and enjoy the snacks in the waiting room because I know they're trying to earn my business. ;-) *For those who weren't thrilled with their experience(s) I would recommend voicing your concerns to help them-help you. ~Special thanks to Mathias-Service Advisor and the Techs! :-D read more

I am very grateful to the generous owners and staff including Brian Scaglia of Flatirons Subaru! They donated a really nice car to be raffled off to a lucky senior high school student at the 2019 Fairview/Boulder High After Prom event that is a place to keep local high school students safe on Prom Night. The prospect of winning car is a big draw (!!!) and Flatirons has generously donated cars to the event for the last few years. They are an important supporter of our safe community :) read more

Picked up a 2014 impreza wrx. Easiest buying experiance ever. Id recommend Jeremy Pilon any day.

Had a great experience dealing with Ray at Flatirons Subaru. The process was very easy and very efficient. We were able to reach a fair price and get some items taken care of on a certified Forester that I purchased. Ray was courteous and forthcoming about all aspects of the vehicle and was able to address all of my concerns. A+ service. read more

We recently bought a used, certified Subaru Outback from Flatirons Subaru and as much as I hate buying a car, Xavier Gronros made the process as enjoyable as it could be. Having traveled from Michigan we wanted to be sure the vehicle we bought would be trouble free and thus the reason we chose a certified used Subaru. We all try to avoid the high pressure salesman and Xavier was the complete opposite, making us feel like old friends and not pressured in the least. The sale went smooth and we got what we thought was a fair trade - in for our vehicle. On the way home after cruising about 1500 miles , we had a minor problem that I thought should have been caught in the certified inspection but was missed. I contacted the dealer and even though this could have been something we had done after we bought it, they stood behind it 100% and covered our bills without question. I was astounded to say the least and very pleased that we had found an honest, reputable place to do business. I look forward to doing business again the next time we need a car as we visit Colorado a few times a year to visit our son. We love our Outback and have since put 3000 miles on it in less than a month. Thank you Xavier and also Grant Gorath, the used car manager. Tom Calkins Whitehall, Mi read more

I was incredibly nervous going into Flatirons Subaru over getting pressured or hassled when all I wanted was to ask questions about a new Crosstrek. Every person I interacted with from the people who take your info at the test drive desk to multiple sales people were very friendly (but not weirdly or overly) and helpful. Mark Berger was great, very laid back, able to answer all my questions about options/features, pricing, finding another color from a different dealer, the best way to handle my trade-in etc. The entire process was absolutely painless, speedy, and I can't recommend this dealership enough. I filled out a trade-in estimate online at another Subaru dealership and felt pretty harassed for weeks afterward with multiple sales calls per day and emails. Flatirons is about the exact opposite of that--can't thank them enough for a great car-buying experience! read more

Hi Dave Dnu, Upon hearing about your generosity during the Subaru There with Care campaign, donating a trade for a very ill little boy's family, as a customer, as a mother, and as member of the community, I felt compelled to thank you. It is inspiring to know that as Sales Manager, you can operate a successful, well run dealership and simultaneous provide support to individuals struggling. That says a lot about you as a person, your team and Subaru as a company. It makes me very thankful and proud to be your customer. Thanks again for making this family's burden lighter and reminding all of us to have the capacity to Care. Warm Regards, Patty Potts read more

I submitted a web inquiry for quotes through Edmunds.com. Out of the 5 Subaru Dealers I sent the request to, Flatirons was the only one that responded immediately with exactly what I asked for. The other dealers would write back and say, "I need more information" or "I'll have to forward your request to someone else." Andrew Wall sent the quote and asked, "Did I send you what you were looking for?" Which he did. When I met Andrew, he treated me as if I was his only customer. He listened to what I liked and what I didn't like. He explained some features are no longer available and why. He asked qualifying questions before making a recommendation and we narrowed down my search quickly that way. He didn't try to over-sell or make me test drive the most upgraded model. He grabbed the keys quickly, and grabbed keys for all the cars I wanted to see at once. No waiting. He hit the mark and did a fantastic job! He was honest, helpful, and direct. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks, Andrew! read more

This was my first new car buying experience and it far beyond exceeded my expectations for a car dealership! Bill Kidd spent 4.5 hours with me explaining every single detail and answering all of my questions as if I were his own daughter. His hours are on his business card and I realize he stayed an extra 2 hours after he was suppose to leave to help with everything and even came in the next day on his day off to make sure everything I needed was taken care of. He helped me negotiate a very impressive price with their financial team for my 2015 Subaru Impreza and trade in with their mechanics for my '98 Subaru Legacy. I had heard this was a fantastic Subaru dealership but you can't buy this level of customer service. read more

There are a number of great Subaru repair shops in Boulder and I'd suggest you use them over Flatiron Subaru. I always thought Flatirons Subaru was a reputable business, but after bringing my Outback in for 2 recalls, I discovered it is not. When I brought my car in for the recalls I was told that I needed my head gaskets replaced. I thought that was funny since I just had them replaced the week before. When I confronted them, I was told they were just seeping and may need to be repaired. Obviously they made their recommendation based on the age of the car, it's a 2008, not the actual problem. A week after they fixed the air bag for the recall, the air bag light came on. When I asked if the light came on because they fixed the air bag, they said absolutely not. The part that bothered me, is they wouldn't look and see if they had knocked a wire lose or if they caused the problem. They just told me that it would cost $350 to fix. Please beware when you go to Flatiron Subaru. read more

Fantastic first experience at Flatirons Subaru after moving across the state. Bought my 17 STI back in SoFL and had a horrendous first experience at my last Subaru dealer where they took the car on an extended joyride and managed to pull 17.2 PSI during a simple oil change. After voicing my concerns with Subaru doing continued maintenance on my car, the service adviser and service manager corrected the previous issues with my maintenance schedule and treated me and everyone else waiting for service like gold. They made the warranty claim on my shift knob seamless and I couldn't have asked for a better service appointment. No BS, no up selling during service; exactly what you would want out of your dealership. Definitely recommend checking out Flatirons Subaru over Mike Shaw Subaru for your service and new car needs. read more

Over the last 6 years, I have purchased two new Subarus from Flatirons, a Forester Turbo and an Outback Touring 3.6. We have multiple residences and purchase a new car every two years. Worked with one of the best car salesman in my history of purchasing cars, Bruce Hunter. Unfortunately he has retired. I was referred to his replacement who did not know the product, was clueless about the two prior deals that I had negotiated (which were identical) and treated me like a child. Horrible Experience w/ Service Department scheduling. Second time this year that I've called to make an appointment. The smoothest, easiest car buying experience I've ever had. I was ready to buy a car and had a few different makes and models in mind, so I sent out emails to several dealership's Internet sales departments looking for the best deal and the least hassle. Judd at Flatirons was the only one who sent me a very attractive total price, including all dealer fees, right from the start. Every other dealer left dealer fees off initial quotes. When I asked for bottom line prices, some responses were downright surly. The other dealers also all tried to bait me into the dealerships for negotiations. I know very well what this means . No thanks. I would rather eat my hat than sit in a cubicle while some joker goes to "check with his boss" for 45 minutes pretending to decide whether to take an offer on a car. Anyhow, Judd gave the best price right from the start and attempted no games. We brought in our trade in and were given a fair offer for it. Again, no games. I returned a little while later and he had all the paperwork ready for me to sign. The finance department was also a breeze. We had filled out the forms online before going in and got zero percent financing from Subaru. The finance manager just took care of the paperwork efficiently and made no attempt at upselling. I had to wait a few minutes for the car to be prepped, but waiting in the nice lounge with sodas, self serve espresso, magazines, etc. was fine with me. A fair price and no games. Simple, but amazingly rare. I bet I buy my next car there, too. read more
