Everyone was super nice and sweet and helpful when I was buying my $30,000 car from them. Once they had my money, they couldn't be bothered to help me with anything. You know, I have never, not ONCE, received a callback from them after leaving a voicemail. Ever. In order to talk to someone, you have to continuously call until they answer, or go in person like I did. And then they made me feel like I was bothering them. Just not professional at all- except for the sales part. Their sales people are very good, which is why I bought the car. They sold me on being part of the Subaru family, and I was really looking forward to finally having a team of people I can trust and rely on when it comes to my car. But it turns out, they are just like all the others and only wanted my money. Made me very sad. I will never go back, even though they are the closest to my house. read more

We loved this place for the past few years. We drove an hour to this place every time because we could visit Boulder, and we trusted them since we also bought our Subaru from them. Their service was always fast, courteous, and thorough, but this last visit was ridiculous. We made our usual trip, dropped the car off for an oil change, got it back after an hour as usual, and drove around town for the next 5 hours. We finally got home around 5pm on Saturday. I had to grab something at the store, so I left after around 10 minutes. My wife noticed a puddle on the garage floor, so when I got home, we watched underneath the car and saw a constant dripping of a clear-ish liquid. We waited a little bit and checked the engine oil using the dipstick a few times. We noticed it was 1/3 lower than the recommended "full" level that they normally fill it to. We called up Flatirons Subaru and they told us that the service department had closed and would not be available until Monday, but they could give us a loaner since the oil was leaking at a fast rate and would not be safe for us to drive another hour back up to them. We decided to take the loaner in the meantime and waited for them to call on Monday. On Monday, we had to call them at 3pm to get some information. The service manager wasn't there though, so the person who picked up talked to some technician (she called him the "foreman"?). The technician said he couldn't find a leak even with the car running and that the engine oil was at the full level, but he also said he added more oil. He suggested it may have been condensation from the A/C or maybe some engine oil spilled out when they poured it in. At 4pm, the person in charge of our car ("Liz") finally called us back. She seemed very confrontational and tried to avoid taking any sort of responsibility for the issue. First, she re-explained the technician's findings. When we pointed out the inconsistencies about the technician adding oil but also saying there was no oil missing, her tone changed and said, "Well, I don't know what she told you. I wasn't here. I can't confirm that." She went on to claim it was the condensation, but we felt the liquid that was dripping and it was too slimy to be that. We told her about the puddle in our garage and the stain it left behind similar to an oil leak (my other, much older car had one before so we have experience with it). She said there was no puddle when we left the car over the two days (Saturday night to Sunday to Monday morning), but it had rained a lot during that so of course there would be none since most of the oil would have leaked out on Saturday considering 1/3 was missing after only 5 hours. She then claimed that it was probably just too much oil had been added and so what we saw was just a spill. But it was dripping at a rate of one drop per second after the car had been driven for 5 hours already. This last experience was just terrible, so we will be taking our car elsewhere. This place has completely lost our trust not because of the oil leak (although that wasn't good either), but because of the way they completely mishandled everything. We knew there was a leak, and they just tried to cover it up instead of owning up to their mistake. read more

We just bought a Subaru from Flatirons 2 weeks ago. We worked with Bradley Schools (internet sales), and the overall experience was the easiest and fastest I've ever experienced (have bought many cars in 35 years of driving). We reached out to several Subaru dealers in the region, and Bradley was the fastest to respond, no attempts to up-sell, and was not pushy at all. We made an offer online and within a few minutes he had responded that they could accept the offer. From start to finish, was out the door with a new Outback in less than 45 minutes. Thank you Bradley - and will be sending friends/family your way. read more

Though I bought my car over a year ago, I've made the mistake of returning for service. I'm done with Flatirons, and have taken my business to Valley Subaru for service and parts. It's been a complete night and day difference in terms of polite and courteous staff who treat customers with manners of any kind and don't hurry you along. My original interaction with a few of the great sales personnel was ruined by a throughly horrific, nasty, and rude experience with the financial manager (Shae) I had the complete misfortune of dealing with. Absolutely avoid her at all costs. She rushed me along every aspect of signing the required paperwork. She stopped me from asking my brother questions about finer details of the lease to me on every single occasion stating "only he (me) can talk". She was EXTREMELY rude and even more pushy. After everything, she forgot to charge me for the down payment on my new vehicle, and did not provide me with the paperwork from the credit union with which I signed a loan (which I needed for Insurance purposes). I took time out of my busy schedule to return back to the dealership later that day to inquire as to why I was not charged for a down payment; my concern was jokingly brushed aside with an offhand "we would have been calling you...", and a exceedingly half assed and insincere "sorry" was thrown my way. As soon as Flatirons got my money, they haven't been bothered to provide any followup. I know you're a business with the ultimate goal of making profits and don't have time to fulfill every single of your customer's reasonable desires, but a little better customer service and common courtesy wouldn't kill you. I'd like to personally apologize to Shea, I'm sorry I somehow inconvenienced you with my business, you clearly had better things to do. I will not forget the entire experience, and won't giving Flatirons Subaru any more of my business in the future. read more

I take my Forester in for service here. They are always very attentive and helpful. Not only do they have a complimentary car service to drive you somewhere and pick you up when your car is ready, which I have used before, but they have free wifi, and even cubicles with outlets to work in while your car is being worked on. I worked on my laptop the whole time. There are also comfy chairs and reading material, if you don't want to sit at a desk. There is a TV, but it is on mute, so it is not bothersome. The atmosphere is clean and healthy. They have tea, coffee, and muffins. I'd love a healthier choice than Otis Spunkmeyer, but I am not silly enough to expect that from a car dealership. I always feel like the staff treats me well and with respect. I never get the sense that they are taking advantage of my lack of in-depth car knowledge. I have just had some simple things done, as my car is relatively new, but so far, so good! I also love how they wash your car for you. Lovely place, and lovely people. read more

I want to thank Ryan Nuckles (Service Manager) for going out of his way to provide great customer service this last Monday. I showed up at the dealership frustrated. The battery in our 2018 Forester had suddenly died and my wife and I were both missing work because of it. Ryan responded with "Let me see how I can help". In a short time he had us back on the road and was professional and understanding throughout. We have been customers here for years and have referred friends who have also become customers. It's because of people like Ryan and the care they provide that we keep coming back and recommending Flatirons Subaru. read more

They sold me a lemon. Scott Crouch, the owner offered recently to refund my money or replace the car. This is for the service department. I'm a seasoned mechanic with 13 years in the business. Took our 08 outback in for an airbag recall and to have an extra key programmed. They got me in very quickly, the key and programming was reasonably priced and the whole job was done before lunch. Very professional service department. read more

Pete Seabrook is terrible. He was late for our appointment and unapologetic, saying we were actually in the wrong location. He refused to give me a printed offer so I could compare it to others. He then emailed a week later, making an offer but valued my trade-in for thousands less than our in-person discussion. Finally, Pete called, and when I expressed my disinterest in working with him, he hung up on me without even saying so much as a goodbye. Pete told me that part of the deal was the customer service. If that is what he believes, then he should start behaving that way. read more

Really, the service here was so painless we got nervous and wondered what we were missing. Fred Rudd is the perfect sales guy and took good care of us from beginning to end. I would definitely buy another car here and recommend to anyone. Well done Flatirons Subaru! We love our new Ascent. This SUV is completely amazing. I called yesterday to confirm the time for my appointment and was told I never had an appointment. I moved out here from Minnesota and wouldn't take my Forester to any other Subaru dealership! I live in Denver, but drive the 30 miles up to Boulder just to come to Flatirons Subaru and work with Maggie. Maggie is phenomenal and so great to work with! She is so responsive and definitely puts the customer first. It is so nice to have a place where you know the staff and know your concerns are being heard and resolved. That personal touch really sets this place apart. I've been to other dealerships here in Colorado, ones that are closer to me, but it's not even comparable when it comes to service or satisfaction. If I could give 10 stars, I would! read more

Subaru has a recall for their air bag issue. After many attempts with Subaru America we got an email from Flatirons stating they would take 2 hours to complete the recall work. Odd as that Subaru America stated it would take 3 or more hours. Mike Shaw Subaru stated 3-5 hours. When we asked why Flatirons could do it in 2 hours - we were told do not come here! Sure will not! read more

Great service, so thrilled with my second Subaru Forester. Brandon Simkins went above and beyond!

We had an amazing experience buying our very first Subaru at Flatirons. Our salesman was Bobby, and from start to finish he was everything opposite of what I expect a stereotypical salesman to be. He was thoughtful and helpful and so so sooo patient with us, and we both felt like he tried super hard to get us into the car we wanted in spite of us having to carry over negative equity. Shae in the financing department is a mastermind! She got us an amazing rate and when we sat down with her to go over options for add-ons, she was super helpful and patient and frankly the most awesome person ever. Our whole car buying process from start to finish was incredible, and we are so grateful to Bobby and Shae for spending as much time with us as they did (and it was A LOT of time). We are Subaru addicts now as we absolutely love our new Forester, so we'll definitely be back to Flatirons when we decide to grow our Subaru family. read more

I used to be able to get a reliable service from their service department, I would bring my car in the would fix it and I would pay, simple as that. Until the last time I went in, I was having problems with my transmission, and it was topping out at 4000 revs along mountain passes. I asked them to specifically check it out, to which they told everything was fine. fast forward to a couple weeks later, I'm stuck in California with a blown out transmission and no way to get home because my car is stuck in the shop. Among other things I've had to wait over an hour for a complimentary ride from the dealer. read more

Good people, but WATCH OUT for their pre-owned extended warranty. I asked Flatirons about the 4 year warranty I purchased about 2 years ago and Flatirons told me specifically that I could get my car worked on at a Denver Subaru Dealership. After I had accepted the work to be done at Groove, I was informed that warranty wouldn't be valid if I go to a shop within 40 miles of Flatirons. (The furthest dealership in Denver from Flatirons is 38 miles. How convenient.) Unfortunately, a "I'll talk to the person who told you that," or "well, they informed you incorrectly" doesn't put $600 back in my bank account. read more

I have my Subaru serviced here and I would highly recommend them! They are always great with customer service and quality repairs.

This place is just awful! I don't know what their salespeople or financing is like, but the service department just doesn't bother to fix things. We came in when the engine light on a year and a half old car turned on and the car would shake while parked and on. They checked it out, said that we were using bad gasoline (Costco instead of something else, not 85 vs 91) and that the engine needed to be cleaned. Fine, we got that done. Well, the engine light came back on and now after several visits they just say that they can't do anything to fix it and that it's not a "warranty" issue, it's a "maintenance" issue. Stay away! read more

I don't like to complain about a brand unless they really deserve it. But I've been a Subaru Outback owner since 1998. And I've noticed a disturbing trend. About 5-6 years into the life of a Subaru, regardless of mileage, I start spending $300 -$500 every 3- 4 months on something breaking - not service. I love the design of the car, but the quality is just not there. Just since December 2016 I've spent $180, $540, $679, and $290, at Flatirons Subaru on my 2009 Outback. And now they are telling me I need to spend another $1,500 on a steering problem. And the car has only 85,000 miles on it, is driven on city roads, and garaged. Toyotas and Hyundais are better value based on what I hear from friends. Looking for my next car there. Bye bye, Subaru... read more

I had a recall on the passenger airbag so I had to go to Flatirons Subaru for the first time. I will never go back. I realize they had to take the dash apart to do this. Unfortunately they really scratched up the inside of my passenger door and dash to perform this service. Plus they left this weird white residue all over the front seats. What you can't vacuum after you make a mess? The only reason they are getting one star is that the shuttle service was nice. read more

Came in, and nobody approached us until we were sitting in a showroom car and looking through the car info. The salesman was an old guy who mumbled and just kind of stood there. He had to look up all the technical info for the car, which I can do faster on my smartphone. Then we wanted to test drive, and he grumbled something about having just put the car away. We decided on a different brand (toyota) and he proceeded to badmouth them. Sorry guy... I drive a Toyota truck and swear by the products. Bad move. And really unprofessional. Tell me what's good about your products, not what's wrong with others. Wouldn't have reviewed without the jerk comments about toyota, but the level of unprofessionalism was just staggering. Seems like these guys assume that you are in boulder, want a subi, and are therefore just gonna buy it from them. Go somewhere where they understand customer service and employ competent people. Go somewhere where they want to earn your business. This place stinks of snobbish boulder entitlement. read more

Just finished buying a new 2020 Outback Onyx XT from Flatirons Subaru and had a great experience. Specifically worked with Jake Becker who managed our family taking a number of test drives, looking at model options, colors, engines, etc. Negotiations were super easy and transparent, and dealing with Ian in Finance was also a breeze. We'll definitely be servicing our new car there, and would recommend Jake and the team at Flatirons Subaru most highly. read more

Had a decent buying experience... not much to it; I showed up with a no haggle price from USAA and they sold me the car. Kind of a no brainer. Their service department is horrible. First of all, let me just say that everyone at flatirons Subaru is extremely professional and friendly! However, my sales associate Brandon really hit it out of the park! I was very attached to my previous car but it was time to say goodbye. Brandon was knowledgeable and didn't pressure me AT ALL. He presented all of my options IN MY BUDGET(!) and we finally decided on a lovely Subaru Cross Trek. He was extremely relaxed and even let me take it on an extensive test drive. While Flatirons Subaru has good people working there they do not do enough to correct a problem I've had since I bought my Subaru in 2013. In less than 30,000 miles I've had THREE engines. Yes, three! The original engine and two short block replacements in under 30,000 miles. I have been offered yet a FOURTH engine. Instead I've asked for the 100,000 mile/8 year warranty which came out of the 2016 class action lawsuit on the oil consumption engines to be extended to my current replacement engine from the time it was replaced in 2019 to no avail. The warranty is on the life of the car, not the engine per se. Flatirons verified my current third engine used two quarts of oil in the first 2,200 miles and still insisted they could do nothing until I did yet another oil consumption test. Subaru of America and Flatirons Subaru have tried to gaslight me from the beginning from telling me I didn't know how to check the oil to no one else is having this problem to no one else has had to have their engine replaced more than once to it's my extreme driving conditions to it's the wrong size tires on the car. My last Subaru did not use oil until it had over 280,000 miles on it. This car has used oil from the very beginning. I have no confidence in the replacement short blocks as they have used oil excessively as well. They say they have changed the short block to resolve the issue. That has not been my experience. I'll not buy another Subaru and you should seriously think about it before you do. read more

The good/okay: I purchased my 2011 WRX at this dealer and the experience wasn't completely terrible. They did have an issue with the finance guy being "new" and the regular finance person being out on vacation so I was told I didn't qualify for the loan. I got a call a week later telling me the regular finance person was back and filled out the paperwork properly with the bank and the loan was approved. I went in and picked up my car after signing papers and little hassle. The bad: The service department at this place is simply bad. Not because of the techs, but because of a couple of the service advisors. They are rude and truly do a poor job, and don't seem to care about fixing any issues with my vehicle. I had a couple issues they couldn't figure out so they just refused to fix them. I took the car to Mike Shaw Subaru and was treated very well and all my issues were fixed without having to do anything other than give a brief explanation as to the problem. Flatiron didn't care about the problems and simply refused to acknowledge or fix them. read more

This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I had gone to another dealership earlier in the day and it was the typical long and drawn out process and they were giving me a laughable amount for my trade. I called flatiron and asked for a sales manager. I was transferred to the amazing Jeremy Pilon and left him a voicemail. He called me back within 10 minutes. I told him the car I wanted, what I was trading, and my goal and he called me back with an unbeatable offer. I went straight there and picked up my car and was out of the dealership in a record amount of time with my new Subaru Forester. Jeremy and Flatiron Subaru have set a new standard on how easy and enjoyable car buying should be. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. They will not haggle with you, they get straight to the point, and are helpful and knowledgeable during the entire process. The BEST dealership with the best SALESPERSON I have ever worked with! Also, if you need anything at all after you buy the car, Jeremy Pilon is quick to respond and resolve your problem or answer your question as soon as he can. read more

I'm very pleased with this dealership. I recently bought a car on my own -- without enlisting my car-guru friends or my ultra-negotiating neighbor. My email to Flatirons Subaru's INTERNET DEPARTMENT was quickly and professionally answered by Jeremy Pilon. His initial offer was direct and very fair. (I did not get that response from other dealerships, they replied with suggestions to beat anyone else's offer.) I ran the offer past my ultra-negotiating neighbor and was delighted that he thought it was a good deal too. (I probably could have shaved off a few hundred dollars by bouncing the offer between dealerships but that's not me.) Jeremy was great with email and text correspondence, making me feel like a valued customer from the moment of my first inquiry. After meeting with Jeremy in person, I saw no reason to consider going anywhere else. Jeremy was knowledgeable about the vehicles and gave me a thoughtful tour of the features, so I could competently compare models and know what to look for on my test drives. Talking to Jeremy isn't stressful and discussing money with him doesn't feel like a game. He doesn't try to wear down the customer or hide the numbers, it's a whole new world of car shopping. There's no pressure to Buy Now; there's no pressure to add options. Working with Jeremy is more like working with a family member who loves cars. He's a knowledgeable professional who is there to truly help the customer. With Jeremy, it's actually a comfortable experience to choose a car and finance it. I'm also really impressed with the dealership. The whole place is staffed by professionals who appreciate your business and respect your time. If the person you need is not currently available, the staff will shift roles to make sure you aren't kept waiting and don't fall thru the cracks. Another example of the respect they show customers (and cars) is that they don't defile the vehicles with stick-on ornaments that advertise the name of the dealership. I respect that. Kudos to Flatirons Subaru. read more

Just a quick thought. I was recently involved in the Volkswagen TDI buyback and walked into Flatirons Subaru with cash in hand and an 850 credit score, but being a novice to the Sub product, needed some guidance with the vehicles offered. Was essentially ignored buy the salesmen on the floor. Finally one very disinterested fellow gave me some very, very basic info. about the various cars, tossed me some keys for a test drive (without him coming with) and basically had no personality or information other than some very basic answers to my very basic questions. He also "helpfully" suggested I take a brochure or look on the internet. This same salesman said that he would call me back to test drive a model that they didn't have (their website listed 47 cars available, 3 were actually at the dealer), well surprise I never received a call back from him. Long story short, I went back to Volkswagen, they gave me a solid deal, earned my business back and I'm picking up my new VW in the morning. You guys. I can't express you how nice and helpful these people are. Full disclosure: I've never had anything drastically wrong with my car, so I can't speak for their more in-depth service. But I've been here 3 times after purchasing a used Subaru Impreza on Craigslist, and they've been so sweet every time. 1) The first was when my headlight went out. The previous owner had already qabought a new one and given it to me with the car, so I went to just have them pop it in since I've never done that before. The serviceman went out, popped it in, showed me how for next time, and didn't even write it up or charge me a dime. He just said, "don't worry about it!" 2) The second time I went in because the Check Engine light was on. The woman at the counter heard what model I had and went out to see that it was just the gas cap that hadn't clicked fully into place. She said that was a common thing because the gas cap triggers the light - no charge again, and super sweet. 3) Third time was today. I was having a terrible day - it started pelting rain/snow and while I was driving my young toddler to a playgroup, the driver's side windshield wiper popped off. The drive was terrifying but I was in their neighborhood so I drove right to them and explained what happened. The guy was really nice and went out to look at it on his own so I didn't have to take my daughter back out in the snow. He came back in and called an express serviceman to replace it - 5 minutes. Meanwhile my daughter had become attached to a stuffed animal on his desk, and when I told him we would put it back when we left, he told us to just keep it! I then went over to a woman (Ashley) to pay for the new wiper, but realized I had left my wallet at home. I tried to call my husband for a credit card number but my phone died. Talk about a bad day! Ashley let me use her personal cell phone but my husband didn't pick up - so then she said she'd just "take care of it." !!! I said no, I'd go home and get my wallet, but she said not to worry, she'd take care of it. So three times I've been here and three times I've met the nicest people and walked out with free service. Seriously, I will never go anywhere else. read more

The techs at flatirons Subaru are extremely knowledgeable and efficient. However when waiting for my car I over heard a lube tech service adviser pretty much stealing money from her tech. A customer gave her a cash tip and she took the majority of it for herself when the service advisors don't do much more then checking you in and taking your money for your car bill. I am extremely happy with the techs but unhappy with the unethical practice by the service advisor and the fact that she would say these things in front of a waiting room full of customers within hearing range. read more
