I've been to other Flame Broiler franchise locations, and this location is the best. The perfect amount of chicken, cooked perfectly, and the quality of the food at this particular location is the best of all Flame Broiler locations. Overall, it makes me wonder if quality control is a problem with Flame Broiler due to the inconsistencies in quality among the different franchise locations. I didn't do a review on the other locations, because it looks like they're barely getting by.

Mark this review down as the 2nd in a pending series (North Shore is the first) of a number of reviews of businesses that i have passed by by car, on foot, skate boarded by for years without darkening their doors and sampling their wares. Flame Broiler is on the same Island (peninsula?) that also houses a relatively new Starbucks: both across from Glendale college. Today I made a decision to check this joint out and to sample their wares. There are several Flame Broilers around town. This one today was practically empty though the early hour was probably one reason and that it is a college holiday is another. The Physical plant has seating for about 50 people but there is a plaza with tables right outside their door which is shared with other businesses. The Menu is pretty simple and you are offered several choices on what the chicken, Beef or Tofu sits. Meaning: you could order grilled firm Tofu (as i did) and decide if you wanted a veg or white or brown rice or even a combo of both. The Tofu that i ordered as the feature of the bowl (there are 2 sizes of bowl plus an big entree size) i wanted no rice and 100% veg which were well cooked and fresh coin carrots, Broccoli chunks and sliced cabbage. You are offered several sauces: teriyaki, hot sauce which tasted like cholula. The size of the portion is big and the Tofu is well seasoned and broiled. One point is i would have liked to have seen the actual Flame Broiler but everything cooking-wise was behind a wall. The also feature Wings in various order permutations as in a single order or for several people. Pricing is high as is everything these days. My bowl is $9.40. My regular soft drink is $2.80. Service was fast and friendly. I will be back. Cheers!

I've always been a fan of Flame Broiler. I feel like I'm eating healthy fast food. Many options to choose from. Want it with or without veggies? Done! White or brown rice? Done! Chicken or beef? Also done. Want the meat or tofu on a bed of salad instead of rice? DONE! You definitely have to try out all three sauces because your meal isn't complete unless you try it. LOVE THIS PLACE even more so because they joined Five stars. Earn points toward rewards!

First time at Flame Broiler. Food was tasty, but over cooked. Not surprised. I will go back.

Both were very refreshing, and I really loved the sauce on the bakka salmon in combination with the mint leaves. Since I'm a huge seafood lover, I ordered the Thai royal curry with lobster tail, lime steamed Chilean sea bass and the royal crown fried rice. This was my first time trying curry and I found it delicious, I'd love to visit Star Leaf again specifically for this dish. I really enjoyed the texture of the fish roe on top of the fried rice - I've never had something like this before. I also ordered the truffle wok seared noodles with beef (I liked the mushrooms in this dish). For dessert, I had the Vietnamese coffee flan and the pink mekong. I loved the presentation of the pink Mekong, and the various fruits were yummy. As for the atmosphere, it was very cozy and I took a lot of nice photos in the front of the restaurant by the pond. This restaurant would be perfect for a romantic date night or a lunch with the girls. The service was great - everything was very timely and detail-oriented. Everyone was kind and attentive, I felt very welcome.

I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil was played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! American Express is accepted here.

So we decided, you know, let's give it a try. A nice older lady took our order and served us. Thr seatingvand tables felt like a cafaleteria style. Which was notba problem for us. The thai tea was just okay for me. But I'm normally Thai coffee drinker. And in comparison that hit the spot for me. We ordered some of our basic favorites. We ordered angel wings and usually angel wings have the bones taken out. And kind of stuffed with some other ingredients. But angel wings here were just your normal, chicken and wings wings. It turned out so kinda a bummer. They were ok, definitely crispy and cooked well. we ordered Pad Thai, eggplant with beef, and papaya salad. One of their popular dishes was the coconut corn chicken curry and that was served in a coconut and that was amazing. So definitely a plus. the eggplant in comparison spot on sometimes the eggplant is overcooked and a little mushy with the spice and everything but it was cooked perfectly well, as far as our taste, we felt that it was cooked perfectly well seasoned well with the beef and everything like that. But the papaya salad, it was a little bit light on flavoring we weren't sure only bc normally we have it spicy and this time we ordered not as spicy bc our son does not eat spicy and maybe that was the difference. But we're not sure. And the pad thai also came out well and tasted great, but seemed light on the meat. Overall we liked the flavors.
